Steve roy has been working on cars in maple ridge ripping people off. He switches parts from one car to another or whatever he gets his hands on. You will have to beg to get your car back, but when you do you will have to check it good because he won't do the job correct or not at all. He will drive around in your car, and even change your plates onto his vehicle. Please do yourself a favour and save yourself the headache and stay away from him.
He is full of excuses why your car isn't ready as he needs it to drive around.
He moves regularly. (every few months)
As his ad states you will pay 50% less while in reality you will pay much more to have your car repaired when he is done with it! He states in his craigslist ad I have references from real clients. Well if you can find his real clients you will hear some good horror stories.
Does anyone have a similar story about Steve Roy?
This steve roy piece of garbage is still out there ripping people off, he actually came in the night and stole my brand new battery and put his old one in mine, he likes to find girls on line and takes there cars and money. The sad thing is nothing happens to him, he gets arrested but is let out right away so ya you can figure out what thats about. He lives in a trailer where his so called company was still ripping people off and gets away with it and thinks its ok. I strongly suggest stay away from this peice of work his family are the same.
Is he no longer at his house? Is he still advertising? I want to take him to small claims court but don’t know if it’s his real name or if he moved

Ya I know the lil piece of crap he ripped me off big time, just a warning clean your seats he had sex in my car with a junkie, he does nothing but rip everyone off including his own grandmother he lives in a delusional world he even ripped off his girlfriends kid motorbike that he said he was going to fix and sold it, anyone he cons into that he is a mechanic dont believe him he has no schooling he has no certificate on anything he says he googles everything how I know lol I caught him hes nothing folks he put holes in my gas tank put parts back in my car without fixing them says there rebuilt he is nothing believe the stories there absolutely true and guess what he's starting up a new buisness so watch out get credentials and I.d good luck
I had my Brakes done by Steve. He actually did a good job. Mind you...I bought my own parts and he charged me $40 to do the job in labour. I stood in his garage for the entire job as well. So if anything shifty was going to go on (which I was cautious of) I would catch it right away. I think the whole thing cost me $140. Don't live in Maple Ridge anymore...so I wouldn't see him again anyways. But thanks for the heads up!

He created me a whole ton of grief. Seems its lucky I got my car back. How does this guy get away with this? He takes your keys and drives your car around. If he has an accident your on the hook for it. He never fixed my car right I had to go to another mechanic and he said the work wasn't done that Steve Roy said he done. Steve Roy will take your money happily. Real sweet guy till you figure him out
One shady character, swaps car parts, and will take the parts from your car also, if he wants to. DONT ever give him your keys. If you still don't believe this, at least keep your keys and watch him do his handy work. Then you won't be out a car or parts like most of us.
Steve Roy working at home under his Steve Roy's Automotive repair shop in whoever's backyard that will let him work. worked on my Dad's car and drove all over the place in it. He stole parts from it and the car was never the same when he finished with it. We even got billed from Golden Ears bridge tolls and my Dad never crossed that bridge.
Stay away from this shady character if you value your vehicle. He doesn't even do the work you take it there for, he just steals parts from your car.
Sorry to say I can top both stories. Steve took me for $1850 and in the end stole my car and sold it for parts on Craigslist. 100% true story. I thought I was giving a small town mechanic a break and saving some money at the same time. It ended up being a really hard lesson to learn and unfortunately has made me a lot less trusting of the small guys out there. Do not trust this guy. He is BAD news. Hopefully Karma will catch up with this guy.
Really sorry to hear about the loss of your vehicle. He could have killed me and my two small children. My car broke down on the way home after he said he fixed the brakes. I had a friend tell me he saw him driving around in my car. Stay away from Steve Roy I've heard he has a different last name and it's not Roy.
