On 19th June 2010, whilst on holiday in Chicago we went to Prudential Gem and Jewelry and purchased 2 x 14 carat gold identity bracelets, one for a male, and one for a female. The one for the gentleman was fine, but the one for the lady started to go black. We had left Chicago on a bus tour so was unable to go back to the jeweller concerned. On our arrival home we took it to our jeweller here in Australia and we have been informed that the bracelet in fact is bronze, not gold. We paid $US500 plus tax for this bracelet, and feel that we have been "diddled". We perhaps, in hindsight, should not have bought the bracelet, as we had to go back 3 times to get the catch fixed as it kept coming undone. I am sending a letter to the jeweller concerned, but am not sure what if anything he will do.
Yours faithfully, Judith Paul, 54 Hovell Street, Cootamundra, NSW, Australia 2590. This sort of thing gives jewellers a bad name, as more people get to here the bac things, than the good. I look forward to hearing from you or somebody about this.

Dear Judith and Paul,

My name is Joe and I am the owner of the family owned business of Prudential Gem & Jewelry. I had the pleasure of meeting you in the store and we talked about the reefs and Australia. I am sorry that you may have picked the wrong item from the store. However, since you did not give us the chance to communicate back to you via email, I am going to respond to you on Google.

1. All purchased items that are picked up at the store must include taxes.

2. All purchases must have invoices. Your invoice shows clearly the weight of the items.

3. All invoices have a clear statement of the return policy. You have a 30 days no question asked return policy. Furthermore, you can return any item after 30 days as per the invoice return policy.

4. Should the item you picked is not a 100 percent as per the invoice, you can return it at any time and we will honor a full price refund plus shipping where apply.

5. All 14k gold has alloys other than gold, Bronze is one of them.

6. You sent Prudential a very detailed email after more than 30 days ( here is a copy of the email

(Original Message ------- Date: 7/30/2010 07:06 AM From: Judy Paul To:Sales@PrudentialGemJewelry.com Subject: "gold" bracelet On l9th June 2010 my wife and myself purchased 2 gold identity bracelets totalling $US1102.50. The one for the gentleman is fine, but the ladies one turned black and on our return home we sent it for testing. Today it came back that it was Bronze not Gold. We feel that we have been "diddled" by your Coimpany. The descriptions of the bracelets are: Stock No [protected] 14 kt 12.2 dw ID Bracelet (Mens) Stock No [protected] 14 kt 8.2 wt ID Bracelet (Womens) These bracelets were in Case 17 and there is a 14 in brackets on the top of the invoice, which I presume is the invoice number. On reflection we should not have bought this bracelet, as we had to come back 3 times to have the catch fixed. We paid for this by Visa. We look forward to hearing from you, as we are very disappointed by the fact th at we paid $500 for a bronze bracelet which was purported to be 14 carat gold. Yoiurs faithfully, Judith Paul 54 Hovell Street Cootamundra NSW 2590 Australia. Best Regards, Tony Souri Prudential Gem & Jewelry Office: [protected] Cell: [protected]))

I wish you have gave us an opportunity to communicate back with you.

7. All above facts are said, Please ship back the lady's bracelet, Prudential personal will inspect it and once again certify it. If the wrong item was picked up, we will ship you the correct item as per the invoice. Otherwise, an apology from you on Google will be enough for the mishandling of the situation.

Myself and My family at Prudential Gem & Jewelry are sorry you had this experience. Please tell us how we can serve you better. We will be waiting for the item to be shipped back. Should you have any other concerns, please contact me directly at my cell [protected] or at Prudential number. You may ask for Joe or Tony.
