I sent my wife in for an oil change on her van thinking it would be convenient for her. When she gets in the shop she is told an oil change is over fifty dollars for a basic package .
Thinking this is a rediculous price she agrees to go ahead and have the oil change purely because she just wanted it done. However as the oil change progressed the tech was constantly telling her she needed services that a brand new van just couldn't have needed yet ( with only 10000 km). When she refused these additional services the guy got rude and treated her like she was stupid .How could a brand new van need an engine flush and a new air filter? If she had agreed the total would have been over $130, and all she wanted was an oil change.Eventually she demanded to see a manager and a rather portly gentleman appeared at the car.She asked him why she was getting high pressured into needless services and he said it was protocol and if she didn't like it to pay her bill and leave. If you go to Pro Lube in Bowness WATCH YOUR WALLET.

I just recently went in for an oil change at this place and I have never been as livid over getting my oil changed as I am right now. First off, the last time I got an oil change at Pro lube was 6 months ago. That oil change was $28, now it's $40! Then the guy proceeds to tell me that my air filter needed replacing. These places always overcharge for parts and replacing an air filter is easy so I stopped at an auto parts store to pick up a new one. When I went to replace it, it was not the same filter. The one in my car was clean which means they showed me a random dirty one to get me to buy one of theirs. On top of all that, they didn't fill any of my fluids, not even the wiper fluid! Nonetheless, I found a rag under the hood near a section of the car that's very hot which means that could've caught on fire. Lastly, there were drops of oil all over my hood and side of the car. I am going to complain to the higher ups about this terrible place and demand my money back! DO NOT GO HERE!

I can see you really do not like that place, but i can see why, I think the only place you can really get something done about this stuff is that place called AMVIC or Alberta motor vehicle industry council I had to complain to them about Brasso Nissan after a horrible experience with my warranty

I check this site out often for complaints about businesses I am thinking of patronizing.I happened upon this comment about the pro lube ltd. complaint and it made me laugh!
I find it funny that someone is defending pro lube to such a degree against that complaint, in fact it almost seems likely that the person who wrote the comment is the manager or owner of the business himself! I have to admit I used to have my oil changed quite freqently at pro lube because it is close to where I live, and that is why it was so funny when I found that complaint and the comment subseqent to it.I had an experience similar to the one the person complained about around a year ago, and I'll wouldn't get my oil changed there again if it was the last place open on earth! I got tired of always getting greeted with a poor attitude when the owner wasn't there and when he was you could tell his attitude was over the top like he was blowing sunshine up my rear end.I put up with it for years because the location is so convienient until one day they didn't change my oil filter and put WAY too much oil in my engine. The defense of complaints about this place are ridiculous! There are too many other options for getting oil changes to bother going to pro lube, in fact if you just continue down the road there is another oil change place called The OIl Drop right on memorial drive in parkdale where I have had good luck with so far.The prices are better than pro lube as well and you can often get coupons online. If super cheap is want you want and you don't mind waiting I recommend the wal mart tire lube place.

I have been a loyal customer of Pro Lube's for many years and have never been treated unfairly or felt as if I was getting "ripped off". Yes they have asked me if I wanted a fuel line treatment or an engine flush, but it was done with the attitude of "Do you want fries with that?" I was never pressured or felt I was being a victim of high pressure sales. They have asked me if I would like a new air filter and drain plug and both times I have asked to see the part they are suggesting needs to be replaced and have made up my own mind. They are just doing their job in asking you if you would like additional services. I have been speaking with the manager "the portly gentleman" and he has told me that they have been undergoing staffing issues, so perhaps you hit them at the wrong time. As a manager of small businesss I know how hard it can be to address a customers concerns when you feel you don't have a leg to stand on, so perhaps this was the case with the attitude from the manager. I know it sucks and I too have judged a place soley on one bad experience where I felt poorly treated, but maybe you can give them another try.
