I ordered a nubrilliance microdermabrasion (Home use) unit from their online site recently. It describes the unit as: it deminishes fine lines, discolorations, give skin a young healthy glow and smoother skin. Came with two diamond heads to use (Fine diamond head for face & neck) and regular diamond head for arms, legs etc. .)
I ordered this unit on a trial offer for 30 days. I received the unit this past week, read the instructions (Followed them carefully) the first use, my skin was red (Longer than the "minutes" it spoke of and a bit tender, there was some flaking of the skin, but i applied the two creams sent with the unit and it helped with the flaking and figured that was part of it. I waited (As recommended in the instructions) a few days and used the unit for the second time. This is when my skin became very red and irritated. Again after this i applied the creams and realized my skin was raw in many places and the creams only made it worse instead of relieving the discomfort. My face felt as though it were on fire, with pins sticking me all night. I tried to rinse off the cream for relief with just plain water and this burned even further. Upon getting up the next morning (After a painful night) my face looked as though it went through a briar patch. I am horrified! I am attaching the photos of the next morning after the second use the night before.
There are only positive testimonials on their site, nothing on their site or in the papers they sent prepared me for this outcome. I will not go outside of my home nor answer my door until my face heals (If it will) and the pain still exist but today i can put ointment on (With discomfort) but i am worried about infection (If i do not) and of course, permanent scarring. This product is not for everyone and unfortunately they do not include that others have had very bad outcomes from the use. I feel very disfigured for someone who only wanted the deminished lines and smooth youthful skin the product claims to give you. I feel like a monster and can only hide out in my home until my face heals (And i pray that is the case) can you help? I have since found online many complaints that are like mine, with damage to face from use of this product. I wish i had thought of that before trying this product, but trusted the website which claimed dr. Approved and safe.
Sincerely,
Deonna hampton
Upon contacting customer service at NuBrilliance, I told the woman on the phone of my horrible experience and she stated, " I am sorry you were not happy with the product"... I told her I absolutely was not, and then she stated..."well, it doesn't work for everyone"... REALLY? I asked her WHY is that not stated on the website? She did not reply. She really just rushed to get off the phone.
That was the first I heard that the product did not work for everyone, the website is full of "positive" testimonials, all positive statements about the product with NO negative. All about what wonderful results this unit gives. NO disclaimer, no statements from those who returned the product or why. Just the ole "bait and hook"
This absolutely does not work for everyone (it did not work for me) and there are others... Don't take the chance on this! Look at my face, the pictures are very real and this was done by the NuBrilliance microdermabrasion unit. I have photos of myself before use of the unit and the photos posted are after.
I am currently seeing a doctor and awaiting appointment with dermatologist and pray that my face can be repaired. This unit did nothing of what it states on the website or in the paper work sent with it.
Very deceptive practices in order to sell their units with disregard to the damages that the product can do to others. Because this product may work for some, it should not be at the expense of the others that it does harm to. They simply don't want to hear about it, don't care.
People matter, I matter. I am currently using prescribed creams and cannot go outside in the sun (not that I want to be seen) I cannot participate in activities involving family, friends, school. I am a shut in, hiding in the shame of how I now look. Mortified while sitting in the waiting room of a doctors office (with my head down, and hair hanging over my face) so that no one could see my damaged face.
Please, do not use this product, do not take the chance that it may work for you, as it may not (as with me) and is that a chance you are willing to take? I am telling you what they will not, it DOES NOT work for everyone. It has been painful (physically & emotionally). I would not wish this on my worst enemy.
The photo below is BEFORE use of the NuBrilliance microdermabrasion unit. Compare the photo with the ones previously submitted and ask yourself if you want to take the chance.

There has been court action against them in the past for deceptive business practice, false statements etc... by consumers. And the Federal Trade Commission has taken action against them as well. It is online under Wellquest International Inc.
NuBrilliance and Wellquest International Inc. (ARE THE SAME)
Thank you, for the kind words. I have reported them, in hopes that they would pull the product, and have told my story in hopes that it doesn't happen to anyone else. I am healing (except for a few scars that will be left) from where I started, and for that I am grateful to the doctors for all they have done.
I will never buy another product online that is not offered in reputable stores, as you stated, at least you can take the product back to the store and speak to someone in person. Thank you for prayers, that is the one thing that has gotten me through this...all the prayers.
God Bless
The results are in fact from the use of the NuBrilliance at home use product, and it was the second use with the correct tip (fine) and used exactly as recommended by the instructions, dvd and a step further by calling customer service after the first use and face was red longer than stated in the instructions and dvd... they said it was "normal" and wait a few days and use again, it was part of the process. Not so. The second time, was the last time and the photos reflect the outcome. I am not the only person who had injury (no, before you ask, I have not hired an attorney) I documented every step and had photos taken as well, I posted and reported to keep anyone else from having injury. While this product may work for some it does NOT work for everyone. That is what should be stated in the paperwork and website NuBrilliance has. It is great that it worked for you, but it is very tragic that it caused damage to others.
Because it worked for you and you had a positive outcome, you have no right to insinuate that I am not being truthful, I am 100% telling the truth, my dermatologist looked at the unit, the tips (which I still have) as well as my family doctor (you know, the professionals) and both stated, this could and did cause harm to individuals, the tips are not the same as used in the dermatologist office (this from my dermatologist) and the fine tip was the only tip used (twice) the other tip has NO use at all (no dna at all on it) so as far as the wrong tip... sorry but no. Over use, not at all.
The ONLY thing I am trying to do, is to change the way NuBrilliance advertises the product, to include the negative outcomes of those who did not benefit from use of this product, and to include the statement, "this product can cause damage to skin, to some individuals".
For information purposes check out the Wellquest International (NuBrilliance) they have many products on the market, they have been in legal trouble for making false, misleading statements about products, including the clinically tested, doctor approved... that is fact, but then NuBrilliance doesn't state all the facts...so if you are trying to dig up dirt, start there, the dirt is with the company (Wellquest International and their products) I did far more than NuBrilliance "Wellquest International", I told the whole truth about the product.
You are welcome, it was a very bad experience and to add insult to injury, the company never even acknowledged my complaint, no letter of apology, no phone call, the customer service was very rude.
I sent before and after photos to the company along with doctor statements of my injuries but they did not nor have not changed their reviews of the product to include "may cause injury" and "not everyone has positive results" they only appear to acknowledge those positive reviews, and disgard the negative reviews (that does not line their pockets) instead of trying to use those to correct any problems with the product... or to include those statements (mine is not the only negative outcome) and I did not hire an attorney to file suit, I paid for all of my medical and it is an experience I will never forget. But shame on NuBrilliance (aka Wellquest International) for not being professional enough to acknowledge those of us with negative outcomes from use of their product. And I am so very glad that you chose NOT to make the purchase on the "possibility" that you could have been injured. I will never again take a chance on something like this.
God Bless,
Deonna
Thanks for the tips on creams. My dermatologist did prescribe the hydroquinone (the triluma had a manufacture recall at the time and the pharmacy would not fill it, so my doctor prescribed the hydroquinone.
I did as directed on the nubrillance, and even called customer service after the first use and skin stayed red for longer than stated. They told me to wait a few days and then use again (fine tip) that some people are different. I did and stopped very soon and put the creams on (that is when it became horrible) my skin just came off in areas with application of the cream and burned like fire. The combination of the unit and the creams seemed to have been the problem (according to my dermatologist) and seemed to have been a defect in the fine tip (which I kept both to take to the doctor). I am better now, I still have some light scarring (discolorations) but they are fading with the use of the bleaching cream prescribed.
The unit works for some, I have read that. But not for everyone (I am an example of some) I have learned that anything to do with my body at all, I will always go to a qualified doctor. I am doing well and moving on. I really appreciate the tips on the creams and your kind words, I hope the unit works well for you and am glad you had not had issues with it. Thank you for being kind and considerate of my experience.
God Bless,
Thank you for your comment. I am doing well though I do still have some scarring but not as bad as it had been so it has gotten somewhat better. For a while it was just awful. Make up covers the scars that are still left I am using a cream the dermatologist has prescribed which lightens the scarring.
I am glad that you have decided not to use the creams with the device. I firmly believe that the creams that came with the device made matters far worse for me. My skin literally felt like it was on fire upon using the cream after the machine use.
And you are correct in your statement of my not using any harsh products on my skin, just facial cloths and my hands. I did use the fine tip, but between the device and the creams... my outcome was not a good one. I do hope that you have much better luck than I did. Just always check your skin for any sensitivity after any use.
I have stayed away from any products like this. I will only go to a professional from now on. I learned a hard lesson and I am bouncing back. I thank you so much for asking. Good luck and I wish you all the best with the product.
Thank you too. I learned a hard lesson and glad it is behind me. I will stay far away from anything else like this or even close... like you, those that have had good results, I am glad but not for me... lesson learned.
Thanks for the kind words!
You are welcome and I am glad that you have done some research before trying. I have since found that dermatologist are reasonable for this procedure... there are some who over charge but I have been treated for the damage caused by this by a very reasonable dermatologist. Haven't had it done as I am a bit gun shy and want to completely heal (just some scarring left which I am using a prescribed lightener.
I am glad that you did some checking and made your own decision, I would never want this to happen to anyone else.
God Bless,
Deonna
Glad that I can help in some way. Perhaps that is why I had the experience (everything happens for a reason) I am grateful to be much better now. It could have been far far worse and I am thankful that I am healing very well as of this date.
There is no miracle cure out there for anything. A good dermatologist and they are out there and there are some very affordable ones I have found and am quite happy that my doctor has helped me to heal from this experience. I am so glad that you decided not to buy the unit. I do not have sensitive skin and you can see what happened, that is what I did not understand... but it is over and I am much better. Thank the Lord. Good luck to you Rae, I hope you will check into some dermatologist and that you have only wonderful success.
God Bless, Deonna
You are welcome. And it is best to pay a little extra to have this done professionally and safely. Trust me, it has cost me more than if I had just went straight to a professional first. Best of luck and I am happy you decided to leave this to the professionals.
God Bless,
Deonna
I hope that you can get your money back, but I am glad you have chosen not to use the product. Please see a dermatologist about the dark brown or red areas because there are a couple of creams they can prescribe that will give you results in weeks. The longer you use the creams the more results you will notice. As you can see from the photos after I used the Nubrilliance product... I had damage, and once the dermatologist was able to help me with the healing process, he prescribed the creams for the scarring left behind and I am quite happy with the results. I hope you will check with a local dermatologist to find out about the bleaching cream and other creams they can prescribe.
Good luck and God bless.

Sorry for the troubles you have had with the multiple phone calls from other vendor Gaotgirl, that is one of the other draw backs with these companies. Just doesn't pay to order things on television or online these days.. I hope that your do not call list works (some ignore this) good luck to you and I know what a headache that can be.
To vampiregirl: glad that you did not make the purchase. Better safe than sorry. I regret my purchase, and my experience... but if I can keep one person from having the same bad experience and suffering any pain or damage, it is the good part of my awful experience. Everything happens for a reason. I am grateful to be healing up and getting along quite well now. It is a shame that the company refused to acknowledge the problems with the product and not one word of apology (I am not a sue happy person) I just wanted to have them to talk to me... did not happen but that speaks volumes as to what type of company they are. You are correct when you say it is all about the bottom line, money... not a good way to run a business.
God Bless,
Deonna
Thank you and I am glad that you searched the internet before your purchase and did not just look at the reviews on NuBrilliance web site (as it only has the positive remarks) Wish I had done that... But you have made the right choice in my opinion and it was your choice to make and at least you got ALL the information both good and bad before making that decision, even though you had to find the information for yourself.
God Bless,
Deonna
Don't give up and contact your credit card company and they will stop the re occurring charges. It is a shame that people do business this way and without regard to anyone else. I hope that you get your money back and I am glad you changed your mind. I would never want anything like this to happen to anyone else. I am hoping you come out well with the refund. Good luck and God bless.

Maria, I am the woman in the photo. I did watch the video and did use the correct tip. I did in fact have damage from the use of the unit as well as the creams I used after the use which intensified the injuries and pain.
I am glad you had good results but I can assure you I did not. It does not work for everyone and while most choose to believe the only comments and testimonials that NuBrilliance advertise on their site... they do not post ALL comments especially the negative ones. You should not jump to the conclusion that my post is inaccurate, it is my personal experience and the truth, the complete truth. I posted on this site because when I contacted NuBrilliance directly they would not take my statement by phone or in letters. Which tells me they do not want to tell the public that this product does NOT work for everyone. And no, I am not the only one with a bad experience with injury from the use of the unit. I can read and I did use the product as directed and took the unit and the tips to my dermatologist for his "expert" opinion... Guess what... he agreed this was NOT like the unit they use in their office nor would he advise anyone to use it. And the tips were flawed (in my unit) according to my doctor who treated me after the use.
My post is accurate and true and I assure you I used as directed as well as contacted Nubrilliance for advisement...they only wanted to push their product, regardless of damage or injury. As a matter of fact, they told me, "it does not work for everyone" and to try it again! Funny, that their website nor brochures do not mention that...
Thank you silly me, I am doing better now and I am glad that you did research online to check for complaints on the unit (something I wish I had done prior to using the unit)
God Bless,
Deonna
Thanks Shellide3669, I am glad that I have been able to share my story and prevent anyone else from the same experience. I know not everyone has such a bad experience but there are those who have including me.
I am happy to say that I am much better with only a few light scars now, but it was bad in the beginning. Thank God, I have gotten better! I tell everyone talk to a dermatologist first before buying anything online or by mail... learn the hard way, I did.
God bless ya!
Deonna
You are welcome MB... Going well for me and I am thankful to have come so far. God Bless
Thanks Fuming! I am doing much better, and if there was one thing I was going to do after this horrid experience... that was, be sure that I let others know BEFORE they made the same mistake. It was truly horrible and painful for a while, but I thank God every single day, for the improvement, I have a wonderful dermatologist and he is very reasonable and put me on creams and antibiotics immediately. Now, I have a few scars left behind that I continue with a cream to lighten and deminish them. But I am grateful I have just that left from the condition it first left my skin in.
Sad that companies are only about that quick buck and not the consumer. They care only about lining thier pockets and not the people. What a world we live in...
Thank you Tecla. I did contact the customer service after the first use, and they advised me that this is "common" and to wait a few days and use again, because you are exfoliating the skin and there would be reddness and irritation at first... well, after that second time, it was horrid. My doctor said the fine tip seem to be "not so fine" I kept both tips so as to show them to my doctor and let him tell me what happened. I am healing and very few scars remain and with makeup, not noticeable so I am much better than when this happened. I am thankful for that. I will never buy another product unless I can see and touch it in person and research the heck out of it from now on.
Thank you so much for your kind words and I am much better now.
Deonna
Master Estetician... No, I am not a liar. Everything that I said was pure truth as to what my experience was with NuBrilliance. My doctor and dermatologist even wrote a letter to the company so that they would do more research and check packaging so as not to put wrong pads in boxes. Quality control. And NO I am not out to make money on this experience. NEVER filed a lawsuit (and that is very easy to check) it would be a matter of record (look online). I paid for my own medical bills and all expenses incurred because of the damage done by this product. I am not a suing type person. You do not know me at all. I use very good hygene and I know how to care for my skin, the worst thing I could have done is to use the lotions that were included in the kit... HUGE mistake and if NuBrilliance did not put in the paper work and on the dvd included in the packaging the customer service number, I would not have even had a much worse experience... the woman told me to continue in a couple of days... I even sent them photos... so before you slam me, understand I am not a stupid woman. I am college educated and very honest. But no worries... I know and God knows the truth. I am much better now and will have some discoloration for the rest of my life, but as I said, my doctors were wonderful and they saved me from what could have been so much worse. I am blessed for that. And for those who have asked. I am attaching a photo of myself with my husband. No serious damage left (discolorations from scars but they are not so obvious with a little makeup) again, I am grateful to have gotten past a bad experience. Thank you to those who supported me and I am glad if my story helped someone. That is ALL this was about. No financial gain (because I had none, nor did I seek to gain any)
K.B. Thank you for your very kind words. Yes, everything has a risk and this did not work for me. In fact, it had a very adverse effect on me. And I have heard from a couple that they had success with this product and I am happy for them and grateful that they did not have the experience that I had. I am very thankful for where I am today and for my wonderful doctors who helped me to get here. To sue this company would have gone against everything that I am... my only goal was to share my story so that I could make others aware of the negative possibilities of using this product. Everything happens for a reason and if I helped one person, then that was the reason. I cannot argue with the path that God wants me to take. I am blessed and that is it, I cannot control what others say, do or believe. I can only control my reaction to them, I choose to take the high road, to be an example. Thank you for making me smile today...God Bless

Still not thinking, I see. So sad.
I Have had the worst experience dealing withe theis company! THEAFS! JUST A WARNING! I LITTERALY WAS ALMOST LEFT WITH OUT MUCH MONEY LEFT IN MY ACCOUNT! DON"T DO ITTTTTTT!
hell with this stupid! product!

I am just utterly shocked at the photos. It truly is & should something they are held accountable for. I once bought a box of hair color at my local drug store. It was to be blonde, same I always used. I put it on & noticed a different tinge to the color creme-but didn't second guess it covered my hair & when I rinsed knew something was badly wrong. My hair ended up an eggplant purple. Somehow the color tube inside was the wrong color than stated on the box (a red was inside) & it ruined my hair-o went straight to my local beauty shop she had to use three applications to try & gently lighten it, but it had fried my hair..so i had no choice but to have 9 inches taken off. I called & called customer service. To no avail-I googled president/vice president & the company name. I finally got in touch with someone important. They had me send them all my photos & in return I received a check for $400 to cover the costs of salon & for the future appt since my hair was not it's original color still! I also received 2 cases of the brands shampoo & best conditioners to help restore my hair. I considered this to be an attempt at reconciling my terrible ordeal. You should seek further assistance their has got to be information & phone numbers to "a higher up" somewhere online.
Goodluck & thankyou for your time posting the pics & your experience.
Just purchased this recently and so far I love it! Using it daily - actually. So far very much worth it. I recognize it won't perform miracles - but so far I feel like it's worth the money and the effort. Will give it a couple more weeks before making my decision. But so far I'm glad I made the investment.

What are the differences you notice that make it worth the cost?
The two doctors who created Proactiv have formulated a brand new product line targeting signs of Anti Aging, sun damage, sensitive skin and acne. If you try any of these products, you will be overjoyed. They work! 60 money back guarantee. You know if it didn't work, Drs. Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields would not put their names on it. I would be happy to discuss these products with you...these are sold through consultants...like me.

I'm just trying to help her and anyone else that's been taken by this NuBrilliance company. You can look over my post if you don't approve. ...that's ok. Since most of us are professional on here, I'll refrain from my response you deserve. Good day.
Unfortunately, the " sales staff " of most all infomercial's don't have anything to do with the company for which one is ordering from. These people are usually set up in a random call center. I'm sure if you speak to an actual rep from NUbriiance, you'll be reimbursed in some way.
I've been looking for reviews on this product, (as I've learned the hard way, to check before I buy) This is the only bad review I've seen. I also believe there is a tiny comment in the bottom right hand corner, during the commercial that reads to the effect. " results may very" Please, don't quote me as I could have misread it. Most of the model's are in fact at least in their late 40's and early 50's, aimed at the person who said otherwise. Oh, I too would like to see new pictures of the original poster, to see how your skin has improved. I know people are quick to sue in our beautiful country, but I would most defanetly, for reinbursment had this happened to me and I had fallowed the directions properly. Why wouldn't you, you should not be responsible for your medical bills. Just my two cents.
Thank you so much for posting your story. I am so very sorry about the damage the unit did to your face. I hope you have been able to be reimbursed by this fraudulent company for your medical bills.
I thought I was buying this product from Nu Brilliance. It wasn't until my credit card was suspended that I realized the whole thing is a SCAM. My card was charged for the unit by Nu Brilliance, then immediately charged again by Wellquest International, Inc. for the same product, same amount.
After speaking with the operators at the call center (deceptively labeled "customer service"), I learned that it is their practice to charge your credit card twice. According to the "supervisor" I spoke with, the two companies are not related. After the transaction is completed, the first charge is "supposed" to be credited back on to your account.
There are no clear answers. A Lot of double talk and reading from their script of "answers".
I had to have the card cancelled and a new card issued.
I am on my 3rd nubrilliance machine . The first two lost suction . Is anyone had this problem?
I'm very angry - I purchased a NuBrilliance in May 2011 and didn't use it very much because of illness. The suction quit working so I called them and they said send it back and we will either fix it or send you a new one. I paid extra to send it - I insured it and paid extra for them to sign that they received it. They had it several weeks so I called them and they apologized and said they would get a new one out to me but I had to call to get it. I got it within a week and within 5 days of having it I used it for the first time and before I finished with only my face the suction quit working again. I called them today and they said they would give me a $50 discount for the shipping fees but gave me the last 4 digits of the credit card and I find out after hanging up it wasn't even my CC. They want me to return this one again - they say that since I have had it for almost a year they will not refund my money even though two machines in a row both lost suction in a very short period of time. I've been ill but that doesn't count6 for anything. I have the machine boxed up in the same boxes it arrived to me in and ready to be shipped back tomorrow. I am going to all sites and placing my complaints and problems for others to see so they look better than I did and find a better machine to spend all their money on. I am also opening up a complaint with the BBB on them and I suggest everyone that has had trouble like me do the same thing. They need to fix these machines because the suction should last longer than one use. The first one lasted only 5 uses. Not a good record. Don't get sick cause if you are unable to use it then you can't prove it didn't work soon enough to get a complete refund.
so glad i read this as i have been thinking about buying the unit. i'm going back to this company called DHC, and will try their products made with olive oil. a friend suggested it and another person on this thread did, too. hope you're okay deanna; i have sensitive skin and can only imagine how horrible you felt, and ripped off. the comments here who say they love it, well, good! but the company, companies, have bad records and deceptive ads and i'm glad i googled 'complaints' before ordering! bless you on this valentine's day and i wish we could age gracefully instead of hurting ourselves to look younger!
With ANY product, there will always be those who are effected badly ~no matter how great the product is! Everyone is different and our bodies tolerate things differently. It should always be assumed that "something" is not going to work for everyone! Also with a product like this, there will always be those who misuse the product (I am not saying it is or is not the case here). I think it is very very important to still to the FACTS rather than make blanket statements like "this product doesn't work!" By sticking to the facts when evaluating ANY product (or service) all consumers can get a better idea as to whether a product is right for them or not... There are always a few who do experience very adverse side effects from using or taking a product ~ while the majority may have super great results! Our bodies, while made up the same, are very different. Make sure to always follow directions and USE common sense! (I am a member of an online review group -we are really consumers who write reviews on various items and services -I am NOT affiliated with, nor have I yet tried this product (but I'm considering it.)) Best of luck to all~
OMG... I was really looking to purchase this product today until I came across this and one other review states that those reviews on the website are paid reviews. I am sooo glad you posted this. I believe you used it properly. I am sorry you went threw this horrible experience. I am also positive that you didn't use this device harder then you were suppose to like the comment up above has speculated. good luck Christy
it doesn't everything it says, but it makes you skin feel fresh. There is no way that this machine did this to you. You must have a very bad blemishing skin. No way did that machine do this. It works just great and makes your skin feel soft and you feel great after a treatment
no way this machine did that to your face. You must have very blemished skin. this machine makes your skin feel fresh and the creams make it feel wonderful. I use is very couple of days and me makes mine face feel soft and smooth which makes me feel younger.
Hello I ordered the new brilliance twice by mistake I would like to fet the 30 day trial period and not pay in full
Thank you
Belinda Brown
I bought this and used it once and sent it back. Its not worth the money. I have received my money back but not all of it. I bought the plumping tip and never opened it and they did not give me my money back for it. I would rather go to a dermotologist anyway. Its safer.
I went to a professional skin care clinic in which they did microdermabrasion with a diamond head and vacuum device. They would not start until you were 2 to 4 weeks away from your last dermabrasion (dependent on what you used) and would only do it once a month with laser resurfacing once a month (everything 2 weeks apart). Using it as frequently as they told you to do is too often. Plus, if your skin is sensitive to begin with, you have to be careful with the creams. I have broken out badly and scarred from some creams on the market - so called for sensitive skin. The concept is great - but like anything else, the recommended usage can be too much for a good number of people. It's the old saying - one size does NOT fit all. Penny
My mother is an esthetician / facial specialist qualified to use these machines, and this one sounds very much like what she uses at work but only smaller and for home use. She says these treatments are not meant to be done more than once a week and even that's too much. Most professionals only perform these treatments once or twice a month on clients. You have to be careful when using something like this if not a trained professional and give the skin time to heal and rejuvenate before using it again.
This product did not do this to her face! I love this product! There is no way this happened to you because of this product! I have used it every other day since purchasing it. I have sensitive skin that is naturally dry, which makes my skin easily irritated, however my skin has never been irritated from using the unit. I read the directions, but I was a little too eager for results, so in the beginning I used it more often then recommended. My skin was a little pink from using it 2 days in a row, when I first got it, but it faded after a couple of minutes. Then I told my mom about it, and she said I should be patient and use it following the recommended instructions of use, not every day, so I did. For this woman's face to look like that she would have had to literally dig in with all of her might to her face and dig in, which is ridiculous. I have always pushed a little hard when using this and never ever has my skin looked liked this...this is very very very hard to believe.
I was thinking about getting this product too but seeing those photos has defiantly changed my mind. I have very sensitive skin and if this product did that to someone else it will most likely do the same or worse to me. Deonna maybe you skin like mine. I used exfoliating products on my face before and the result was much like your photos, even with very very gently applied force. I don't know if my skin is thin or delicate but this product cannot be for me. Thanks for sharing your story. You saved me from the same fate.
Microdermabrasion is not for everyone. My sister is an esthetician and did it on my and the result is that my skin is too sensitive and was recommended not to have it done again. So yes without someone over using it could have a reaction because of sensitive skin. Donna hope you are better. Good Luck
June 2, 2012...Just received a replacement for the damaged (diamond tip) for the Nubrilliance Microdermabrasion, which was returned and received by said company about a week ago...They had failed to send the part when originally notified that the tip was damaged. I called Customer Service about a week after reporting that the original tip was cracked, and was told that the replacement was never sent...concerned the 30 day trial period would run out, I told the CS Rep that I would be retuning the product immediately. I was unable to test the product due to the damaged "tip". - The Return postage was $13.55, since I was informed, that (NO IFs ANDs or BUTs) "Nubrilliance" does not give Return Labels, under any circumstance...NEVER AGAIN! - I have learned a very expensive lesson...Hopefully, I can deter someone else from this "Migraine Experience." So far I have spent $13.55 to ship back an unusable product - and am expected to pay for their S/H cost as well. PS. They have had the returned machine for several days according to the USPS tracking information. After C/S informed me that replacement had not been sent, I explicitly, and emphatically stated
"DO NOT SEND REPLACEMENT!...ITEM IS BEING RETURNED TODAY." An Expensive, Time Consuming, and Unpleasant ordeal, to say the least. I am now a member of "Ex-purchaser's of anything I can not See, Touch, and Examine before giving out my very hard earned tender Club". J M Fullerton
I bought my machine from Dr. Denese's site which sells the exact same machine, only in blue color, for about $100 less. I love the results, and agree with some others stating the results the OP experienced have to be from misuse of the machine or outright confabulation of details. As for the people complaining about loss of suction: There is a white band right under where the tips sit on the wand. If that comes off, there won't be any suction. If the band does come off, replace it with any small rubber band and the problem is solved.
I purchased my unit almost two months ago and it is great. My skin has never looked better. I have followed the directions and I watched the DVD that comes with the unit several times. I am still on level one. The suction is still working wonderfully and I am so happy with the results. I'm sure the product isn't for everyone, but it is working for me. I also have been using the creams that came along with the unit and have had no adverse reactions to them.
Deonna,
I agree that are there are probably different skin types out there and some that are more susceptible to reactions. I have to tell you that I have had several skin peals and laser treatments due to acne. Maybe my skin is used to abuse, but I love this machine. I have owned the machine for a month and use it religiously achieving the exact results that they profess on their website. I have also talked my family members into buying it and they love it as well. I have noticed in just 3 weeks, friends and family compliment on how beautiful my skin looks and how my acne scarring is diminishing. Did you watch the instructional video before use? Also if you have acne prone skin ( just common sense ) you should have done your homework and read the ingredients ( they have oil in them ). I don't use their creams at all, just the microdermabrasion abrasion. There is no way that machine could have cased that to your face.
I will be 70 my next birthday. I think I'll use my vacuum cleaner nozzle while I rub my face gently with extra fine sand paper, and then use my very good facial cream. I can suck up my collagen to fill in my wrinkles and slof off all my dead skin to make my skin smoother than a babies butt. Be a lot cheaper too.
Wow! Will not even even consider it. I always check for comments about products -positive and negative -and then decide if I want to move forward. But I cannot see a benefit to this at all and I have been in the skin care and cosmetic industry for 20 years. Thanks for the heads up. I hope you are back to the way you looked and felt before using this product. Too bad! I was looking forward to it and the "miracles" it worked. Too good to be true.
Hello, i seen the commercial on tv..& im african american. We all know different races have different skin textures. Im jus curious if it worked on a african american. Jus please let me know..if it works on a black person because im very impatient when it comes to buying this product.
To those that doubt the varied results...I can assure you that our bodies are all unique and react differently to the most mundane things not to mention something like this. Because you aren't sensitive or allergic to peanuts, would you accuse someone that is of lying - no, that would be ridiculous. Just as ridiculous of the notion that everyone will have the same results from microdermabrasion. Before you respond that allergies are different, consider other scenarios where the same activity, performed identically by 2 different people produces extremely different results - such as sun bathing, exercise, visual perception, sensitivity to temperature, and this could go on and on. Did the sun bather that got burnt do it wrong when compared to the one that didn't? Let me guess, she didn't lay in the sun correctly just as the person that can't see 20/20 didn't really try to focus on the object. Our bodies are a highly complex and although they are similar, they are unique and infinitely diverse.
I have been a nurse for 20 years (over 10yrs in operating rooms) and had several facials, including microdermabrasion at a physician office in a suburban area (Ear/Nose/That physician). I moved to a much larger city and went to a microdermabrasion clinic that performs exponentially more procedures than the physician's office because their primary focus is on skincare. Guess what my results looked like? ALMOST EXACTLY what Deonna's pictures show except my cheek bone area was the most sensitive! It turns out that I am allergic to one of the most common and "normally" safest ingredients - Glycolic acid. It is even used in over the counter peels sold in stores. Although it works great for the vast majority of consumers, I am not one of them. I've had many peels...pumpkin peels, acid peels, dermabrasion, etc. but Glycolic is the ingredient that totally destroys my tissue and I have a few scars to prove it. With other ingredients, they test a small area first, but Glycolic has such a reputation for being "proven" as safe, that they don't.
When you see products on television, read reviews, go to clinics, etc. the one thing you need to do for yourself is proceed with caution and TEST a small inconspicuous area BEFORE using anything on a widespread or highly visible area. You owe it to yourself to make sure you are fully aware of YOUR BODY's reaction to a product or procedure. You have little control over how your body will react, despite what some of you may think. Testing an area should be common practice and a suggested test area, an area that is most similar to the intended use area, should be described on the package.
Thank you for sharing your experiences and increasing awareness that Results WILL and definitely DO Vary!
I THINK THIS LADY IS A LIAR! THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT THIS LITTLE MACHINE WOULD DO THAT KIND OF DAMAGE, NOT EVEN WITH THE NECK AND CHEST TIP. WHAT I THINK IS THIS WOMAN PROBABLY NEVER TOOK CARE OF HER SKIN IN HER LIFE AND BUYS HER BEAUTY PRODUCTS AT THE DRUG STORE. PROBABLY NEVER HAD A PROFESSIONAL FACIAL WHICH IS 10 TIMES MORE HARSH THAN THIS LITTLE MACHINE. PROBABLY HAS BEEN SUFFERING FROM ROSACEA HER ENTIRE LIFE CUZ THAT'S CERTAINLY WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TO ME & EVERYONE ON HERE IS FALLING FOR HER CON JOB! ITS SO VERY SAD OF YOU PEOPLE. AREN'T YOU SMARTER THAN THAT. THOSE OF YOU WHO TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF YOUR SKIN LIKE I DO KNOW THAT THIS WOULD NEVER DO THAT AND I STAKE MY REPUTATION ON THAT 110%. EVERYONE KNOWS YOU CLEANSE TWICE A DAY, MOISTURIZE TWICE A DAY, USE SERUMS & VITAMINS, EYE CREAMS, WRINKLE CREAMS, MASKS & ABSOLUTELY EXFOLIATE WHICH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART AND THIS LITTLE MACHINE THAT IS USED AND ENDORSED BY STARS AND DOCTORS IS THE BEST THING INVENTED SINCE THE CELL PHONE. SO LADIES, BUY IT! IT WILL BE THE BEST INVESTMENT YOY EVER MAKE AND IT WORKS. IT GETS RID OF WRINKLES, ACNES SCARS, DARK SPOTS, AGE SPOTS. IT MAKES YOUR SKIN PRODUCE COLLAGEN AND ELASTIN AGAIN. I AM 38 YEARS OLD AND I LOOK 25, NO JOKE. I HAVE NOT ONE WRINKLE. ITS ALDO PHILOSOPHY & DR. DENESE SKIN CARE. BUT BUY IT, HONESTLY, YOUR SKIN WILL THANK YOU BY SHEDDING OFF 10-15 YEARS! GOOD LUCK LADIES
maybe they should put on the cite for use over 30 years of age! This is an effective treatment. If you have never used anything (like Retin A or Renova or anything effective to help peel your skin you might not know what you are doing. Because this product has some power (and some is what it has), it does have effectiveness. If you are unfamiliar with anything except soap and cream maybe you would not know what to expect. I have been using Retin A for years. I put my machine immediately on HIGH and got some good from it. I would have been happier if it were stronger, but I could definitely see that the cells were plumping and sloughing offf. Too bad you have not prepared your skin for anything except cosmetics, otherwise you would be able to appreciate this product.
I read your story and I am in disbelief as to what this product did to you... I am hoping that you did file a Product liability claim against the company...
There is no way that this little machine would do that kind of damage by its self. There must be more to this story. I got mine machine today and am pleased! My skin feels nice clean. It cleaned out the small clogged pours on my chin. Looking forward to doing another treatment tomorrow l
I have nubrillance and i have had it for one week...the results are amazing! I love it...I am unsure iof what the reasoning is for what your results were however I recieved beneficial rsults. I was automatically able to see the reduction of droop on my outer smile and lines and creases...as well as on my chest...I am very satisfied with nubrillance . I do wish u wouldve recied the same...good day
I bought the unit about one month ago and have nothing but great results. I plan on keeping the unit. Sorry there are a few with problems but I think that is with anything you place on your skin. Sensitivity. I thought I had sensitive skin, but no adverse problems with the machine or the creams.
This all sounds beyond horrible! I was going to buy this, but after reading all of the comments, I think I'll stick to getting professional dermabrasion. Your face is your fortune and far too valuable an asset to have ruined. Plus, the customer service attitude speaks volumes!
