Placed an order for a digital camera with some hesitation after reading this site's review. This company's MO must be contacting the customer by phone before they ship to you. I sent them 2 emails telling them the item I ordered was the only item I wanted and do not contact me to try to sell me anything else. They called to verify that I wanted two of the cameras or was that a mistake. I told them only one, please. Then the sales pitch started and the bs about the camera only comes with a demo battery and I would need to buy an additional battery. The an additional charge of $40 plus dollars for insurance. I told them I didn't ask or order that and the person told me that the company required insurance. I told them cancel the entire order. The person repeated that I wanted to cancel the entire order and that was the end of the conversation. I did not trust this place from the time I called back and heard their automated phone recordings. I think some people get picked at random for their bs sales pitches and a few people actually receive their order without having any additional phone contact with this place. Next time I go to Brooklyn, if I have time, I'm going to see what kind of 'storefront' this place has. Never again!

Bait and Switch.

I ordered a Sony [censored] kit with the basic 18-55mm lens from these guys because NexTag showed them as the best deal ($649.)

The next day I got an email indicating that my product might be shipped with non-factory packaging.

I was worried about this and called. The guy assured me that all the packaging was factory, but that no battery came with the camera. He offered to sell me one at extra charge. If you go to the Sony website, you will see that all their camera kits come with the rechargeable batteries. I told the guy this and he said I was dreaming.

I cancelled my order and am notifying my credit card company of the cancelled order. I do not trust these people not to try and put the order through anyway.

I recommend that nobody do business with need4digital.com.

They also operate under the alias of crazycameradeals.com.

I placed an order for a Pentax Optio WG-1 for $255. I got a confirmation order email from them. I then waited for over a week and heard nothing else from them. I finally sent an email to them asking for status on my order. I got several replies and a phone call stating that I needed to contact them to verify my order. Of course when I called them, they told me that there was $59 charge for handling and insurance. What? They told me that this information is listed on their policy page. I looked it up and it states : ALL ORDERS ARE SUBJECTED TO INSURANCE CHARGES DEPENDING ON YOUR LOCATION. Then they tried to tell me that the camera only came with a one time use battery pack and that for $20 extra I could get the rechargeable battery and charger, and upgrade my order to be shipped out that same day via Ground. They also tried to sell me a memory card which I told them I already had ordered someplace else. Their website states that the camera comes with a battery pack and power supply. I was also supposed to get free Ground shipping. Then the final total of my order was going to be $349.99 which doesn't add up properly. I was pretty upset and not thinking clearly at that point and told them to just process the order since I had been waiting for over a week now and it was supposed to be a gift for someone. However, after calming down and thinking about it for a while, I did some researach on the internet and found a better deal. I also spent some time looking at their policy page as well. So I decided to call back to try and cancel my order. After several tries I finally got through, only to be told that I could not cancel my order as it had already been processed and shipped. Then a few minutes later, I get an email from them telling me that I have to contact them about my order again. When I called back again, I was told that my order had been placed on hold since I tried to cancel it. I told the guy on the phone that I was told that my order had already shipped and that I could not cancel it. He said no, you can still cancel it. So I did. They did send a confirmation email confirming that my order was canceled and that my credit card would not be charged. I am hoping that is the end of it. Please do not do business with them! They have shady business practices. The price on their website is not the actual price you will end up paying. You will be forced to pay a high handling and insurance fee that you will not know the total of until they verify your order. They will also try to upsell you on items that are supposed to come with the camera but clearly don't. And I am guessing that you really don't get free Ground shipping since they try to upsell you on that as well.

Hello guys theres a website to report a Scam like this, it is INTERNET CRIME COMPLAINT CENTER (ic3.gov) It is one of the subsidiaries of FBI. If you go to FBI website they will direct you to the ic3.gov. I am one of the victim of need4digital.com. We need to tell the authorities the malpractices of bait and switch websites. So if we all send our complaints to ic3.gov we have a chance to be heard. I think this is the only way to shutdown need4digital.com

All I wanted was the good deal on a Nikon camera. The told me that Nikon didn't come with certain warranties, batteries, charger, etc., and then they said they would give me a great deal on these items. Turned out that Nikon product does come with the warranties, batteries, charger, etc., except I end up paying much more than had I bought it locally. They also said I would be given free express delivery. It took a week and I was charged $49.50. To return item, I will be further charged a restocking fee that makes it an even greater loss. These guys are major scam artists. May they burn in hell.

Ordered a nikon d7000 and $800 nikon lens. Received e-mail FOUR days after placing my order with contact number. man I spoke with told me the lens would not work with the camera, tried to sell me a more expensive lens. Told me motor was slow and would not work with the cameras video capabilities. I wasnt buying it. He then tried to tell me the camera does NOT come with a battery-contrary to the website which I pointed out. He didnt like this. Then said the battery would only last 20minutes. I asked if it was a refurbished camera-he assured me no. I again declined this offer. Next he says I will not be able to download my photos to my camera and that i need to purchase "firmware." Again, per the website, it comes with software! Again, I declined. At this point he told me it would be best to CANCEL my order since the camera I am buying will not work since I am not purchasing any of the things he is pushing. HA! I said, fine i would love to cancel my order. I asked what kind of company he is running, told him he had an interesting way of doing business and his remarks were "Is there a problem?" Well DUH. You just lost a $2000 sale. Figure it out for yourself.

I was told by the salesperson at Need4digital.com that the battery that comes with Nikon D3000 (which is only sold as a kit in the U.S.) is “only good for 30 minutes, ” while they one they would be sending me is “good for 5 hours.” I have since learned that the battery sent by Need4digital.com is the same battery that comes with the Nikon kit sold everywhere. Thus, I didn’t get anything different had I bought the Nikon kit from Best Buy or any comparable store. Yet, I was being charged as if it were an extra item.

I was told by the salesperson at Need4digital.com that the charger that comes with Nikon D3000 kit “takes 12 hours to charge, ” while the one they were selling me would only take 30 minutes to charge. It’s the same charger that comes with the Nikon kit sold everywhere. Thus, I didn’t get anything different had I bought the Nikon kit from Best Buy or any comparable store. Yet, I was being charged as if it were an extra item.

I was told by the salesperson at Need4digital.com that the Nikon D3000 has a small internal memory disk, but I would receive a 4 gig memory disk. I did not receive any memory disk, nor does the Nikon D3000 have its own internal memory disk.

I was told by the salesperson at Need4digital.com that I would receive a parts and labor warranty that would extend the warranty from 90 days to 1 year. The Nikon D3000 parts and labor warranty is for 1 year, so there was no extension to Nikon’s warranty. Thus, I didn’t get anything different had I bought the Nikon kit from Best Buy or any comparable store. Yet, I was being charged as if it were an extra item.

I was told by the salesperson at Need4digital.com that I would receive free expedited shipping. It came “ground” and I was charged $49.99.

I was never told that this Nikon kit was anything other than what is sold at Best Buy or other comparable stores. And I was expecting to receive all the items listed above as something more and better than what normally comes with the Nikon D3000 kit.

I consider this to be a sale sold blatantly under false pretenses and, in light of this, I requested a full refund without any restocking fees.

Their response was they would have me pay nearly $300 restocking fee.

Based on my experience with them, and all the complaints this company has had, this business should be shut down and they should be forced to compensate all the people they have ripped off.

Call your credit card company, if its amex or capital one they will take care of it for you. If you used a debit card, word of advise next time you purchase online, use a credit card, usually the company will back you up and take care of all the un-pleasantries for you! Good luck, hope this helps.

I ordered from this site nikon D3100 camera at 04/12/11 and because they say to me that i suppose to buy separate battery, charger and memory card i was charged $889. The price of camera was $ 450. I immediately called to another store and they said that everything is including in price of camera. Then i called again to need 4 digital and canceled the order. I asked them to refund to my card money, but they said that my card was not charged and order is canceled.
But in 2 days i saw that my card was charged. I called them and asked about my order and cancelation, and they said to me that will refund my money in 48 hours except the shipping charge. This site offers free shipping, that's why i ordered there and i never received this camera.
I did not had refund in 48 hours and called them again. I received answer that time that they will return money to my card when they will receive camera, except shipping charge.
Can somebody help me to receive my refund. I never received this camera, i believe that i suppose to receive full refund, because i canceled order and i never received a camera.
If somebody can help me my email is isfineart@verizon.net
Thank you
