I received a letter from a Collection Agency called Credit Collections Bureau in Shakopee, MN. This letter was sent to them on December 10, 2018. It came from Medical Specialists PA, PO Box 1259, Dept #139883, Oaks, PA 19456. It stated that I had an outstanding bill of principal $600 and interest $356.83, Account #3684264. The date of service for this was 1/21/2009. I've tried to contact them and can't find anything about who or what they are. I spoke to Mandy at Credit Collections and she has nothing more than the date of service. She does not have a phone number for them either. I will be calling her back to inform her of what I have done and that this letter has been sent. This supposed bill is now going on 10 years and I've never been contacted, called or even made aware of any such happenings. I do not plan on paying anything on this until I've got full details on what's going on. Thank you.

I received a letter from the address: P.O. Box 1259 Dept #148905 Oaks, PA.

I went to the ER at a local hospital and about a week later I received a letter. The letter claimed that I might be eligible for Eligibility and Enrollment Services. Even though I have good insurance through my employer I decided to call the number on the letter anyway just to see if they could reduce my ER bill. The 1 800 number was the real number to the hospital that I visited but the employee had no idea what services I was talking about. She connected me to another number and that lady also didn't know what I was talking about either because the services she offered were for residents in another state.

I think this letter and address is a scam. The Pennsylvania PO box address doesn't make sense because I am in Alabama. I don't think my local hospital would be handling paper work for Alabama residents all the way in Pennsylvania.

Someone at the hospital is trying to scam patients. I also received a text about financial help with my ER bill. I think an employee at the ER I went to is trying to scam patients.

I think I know who it is but I don't have proof. He collected my personal info when I checked into the ER including my cell number. I googled the number that texted me and I discovered that other people have had the same experiences after they were released from the hospital.

I'm glad that I avoided this scam by reading the comments from this site and other sites. I decided to also share my experience to prevent another person from being scammed.

These scammers are becoming more clever. The letter that I received looks like a legitimate hospital letter. It has the hospital's logo, a barcode, a QR code, and the font style that this local hospital uses. I am usually able to spot a scam but this letter looks so real. Thank goodness for Google and people willing to share warnings of these scam.

I got one for a $13 piece of medical equipment (a walker) after my surgery, then after I paid it, I received an invoice for $28.87 at a late fee. I mailed the invoice back and stated I would not pay over 200% for a late fee of 4 weeks. I'm not paying this, either.
