I purchased this concrete type siding for my home
In two yrs, the siding srank. Leaving one inch
gaps. Pulling the nails out of the product.
The company said, it wasn't stored properly.
Wasn't painted in a timely matter. I bought
another type of siding yrs before, never had a problem.
Maxitile, said their product was not at fault.
They are not a member of BBB. Beware.

I agree this product is inferior and not made for all climates. I had my home and two garage sided with Maxiplank. The siding is shrinking and warping. They are not honoring their 50 year warranty. The siding on my home was installed in late November 2013 and painted in April 2014, within 180 days as per their specifications. In November 2015, I had my garages sided with the same material. While measuring my garages for paint in March, I noticed that the siding was shrinking and tearing away the caulk. I then gave my home a close inspection and found that the siding was shrinking to the point of pulling the nails away from the framing. I did not paint the garage. After viewing the pictures and receipts they denied my claim. They said I did not paint the product. My home was painted and I have the invoices to prove it. I did not paint the garages because I didn't want to spend another $2, 000.00 on a product that was not worthy of painting until I got the issue resolved. I requested they send out a representative to look at the siding. The guy they sent had been on the job for two weeks and could not answer the simplest of questions. I am filing a claim with the State Attorney General of Iowa to get this resolved or the have their product banned from being sold in Iowa. They are a giant rip off to consumers.

I agree. Do NOT use this inferior product. MaxiTile denied my request for warranty, citing installation issues and builder wouldn't help on my 18month home because the warranty on my new home was 12months. I can get better treatment on a used car.

Maxiplank siding is 8 years old. Maxitile refused to honor warranty. Siding is separated and cracked. Company claimed siding was not installed properly. Inferior product, do NOT buy.

I work in the building materials industry and hear complaints about shrinking material from all fiber cement materials and my understanding is if the material gets wet it will swell and if it is installed wet then it will shrink after it dries out. The test is to measure the length of the siding and if you bought 12' material it should measure 12' and if it is 1/2" short then it has shrunk and should be considered defective. If your material is 12' and you have gaps at the ends or between them then your contractor installed it wet and they are to blame. Hope this helps!
