LL Bean Mastercard review: Fraudulent charge

We stayed at a hotel in Texas in December 2022. We made reservations for our dogs and ourselves. When we checked in, we told the desk clerk we only had one dog now and she said that was fine.
The next morning, a rude clerk informed us that they are charging us $250 for the dog. No notice, no policy given, no discussion. Our dog was clearly OK the night before and with all the reservations up to that point.

LL Bean Mastercard refuses to help us clear this fraudulent charge. They keep writing letters with things like "we did not receive information about your return." They clearly can't translate correctly or understand the problem. Holiday Inn Express refuses to acknowledge there is any problem with charging a customer what seems to be unlimited unsanctioned, unapproved and unnotified charges. We thought it would be clear and easy to clear up, but sadly it is not.

Desired outcome: Refund of the $250 fraudulently charged.
