On October 16, 2008 I had several procedures liposuction on upper back, inner/outter thighs, reshape tip of nose, repair wrinkles between eyes. I woke up blind in my left eye and only 70% in my right eye. I have had several surgeries prior and I did the research on every surgery I had. In my search on this surgery I ask Dr. Jeffrey Zwiren are you sure its ok for me to have this surgery it says you are not a good candiate for liposuction if you hace high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes and I even said its on your website his answer was its ok. I trusted him to me he should have said since you have a concerns lets take a step futher and make sure. If he had I wouldn't be blind today. I had no prior medical isuues, now I am disabled! Laws need to change on elective surgery how many people have to die or end up like me before the law changes! Oh I look normal as you can see but I can barely see which is very SAD!

Plastic surgery is like a drug once you do one thing you want another and another and all the doctor sees is $$ they don't care about your health. I will do everthing in my power to get the laws changed!

I would be real careful what you say to hurt others because karma you know! I wasn't blind when I went in to have the surgery and no I couldn't sue the doctor either. Dr. Jeffrey Zwiren will have to live with the fact he took my life away from ME! It's sad to me that you find humor in someone who has lost everything my great career, my sight is gone in my left eye and only 70% in my right, I will never be able to drive again and now disabled which you are now paying to take care of ME! I did my research and ask him if it was ok to have this surgery and he said yes I trusted him and he took my life away from me. I will do everything in my power to get the laws changed to keep this from happening to someone else. If he had nothing to hide why didn't he call 911 instead he put me in his nurse's car and drove me to an eye doctor! Hope you have a great day! By the the Surgeon General in Washington and Georgia Medical Board are going to investigate my complaint! This should have never happen to ME!

Dr. Jeffrey D. Zwiren, Prima Center for Plastic Surgery, Duluth, Ga. is under investigation by the medical boards for what happen to me on October 16, 2008 when I had plastic surgery in his office and woke up blind in my left eye and only 70% left in my right! What kind of doctor puts you in a employees car and drives you down the road to an eye doctor not a hospital why didn't he call 911? What was he really hiding? Had I went home I would have died! Beware deaths from LIPOSUCTION is getting higher and higher!

Totally disagree its not always about vanity! I'm far from barbie and never wanted to be one. I workout and eat healthly. Sad that you don't care enough to be the best you can be. A doctor who puts you in a employees car instead of calling 911 has something to hide! THAT"S WHAT I'M SAYING!

Why did he pay you off. I'm blind in my left eye and only 70% in my right from Dr. Jeffrey D. Zwiren, Prima Center for Plastic Surgery, Duluth Ga. Besides the fact when I woke up blind he didn't call 911 he put me in his employees car and drove me to an eye doctor! What kind of doctor does that? I got nothing he got away with it! These doctors need strict rules how many people are going to die or end up like me disabled before laws change! Oh by the way my rhino was not done correctly the end oof my nose has a crook in it. Had I went home I would have died! I'm fighting hard to get the laws changed The BlindB Law! Yes as you can see I look normal but I can barely see SAD!

Wrong Terri if Dr. Zwiren had done his research I would be disabled! Yes I did have an unknow tumor! He knew my facial skin was really thick and had he looked in my eyes he would have seen it! So Now I'm disabled! My current doctors told me either they my blood pressure get to high or cut off my oxygen to long with called the to ruptuue. The kind of tumor is very rare to rupture! Also they didn't call 911 they put me in a car and drove me to a eye doctor. What kind of doctor does that to a patient! My ear nose and Doctor said he did a terrible rihnoplasty! My nose is crooked at the end. People stare at me! He would't even give me my money back! He took my life away from me! Had he done he's research I would't be blind and disabled!

If Dr Zwiren did his job right. I wouldn't be blind and disabled. I have to take pictures turning my head to the side so you don't notice my crooked nose! If he was such a great why didn't he give my money back! God will prevail! I lost everything because of him!

You are doing great work to push the laws to change, Brenda. You are helping thousands of future, potential victims. I hope one day you will get some justice for what has been done to you.
Good luck with everything.

I am so, so sorry to hear this! Many plastic surgeons seem to be no better than used car salesmen. They want to sell their procedures to you without admitting they are, at best, suited for general surgery and not plastic surgery.

What happened to you is unacceptable. I am so sorry to hear this. I hope the laws in this country change and allow people to be properly compensated for bad surgery without having to incur the expense of legal proceedings from their own funds. Its simply gross injustice.

I can realte to what Brenda has been through. I had a pre existing strabismis condition that my plastic surgeon dismissed prior to my plastic surgery procedures some yrs. back and now I am on social security diasability bacause of it. Plastic surgeons are not held accountable for unfavorable outcomes following surgical procedures. It is not the fault of the patient who put his/her trust in the surgeon. The blame should be put on the plastic surgeons, and the boards that regulate them that are supposed to protect the patient from harm.
