I have been shopping to Body Shop Company since I was still in Goldsboro, NC for 14 years. When I moved to Peoria, IL, few months later, I found out that there's a body central to Northwoods Mall. I like their products, but I hate their custmer services. From managers to employees are just simply too rude. Everytime I go there, it looks like these employees hates their jobs because they're just simply look misearble. It seems like twisting their arms to ask for an assistance from them. I can say that I am a regular customer there because I'm there shopping almost every week. And every week, that's what kind of service I get from them. At first, I was just ignoring it because I was a new customer. But for months now, I get the same treatment with body central employees over and over and I am getting tired of it. As a customer, I feel like I have to thank them for giving them business or shopping with their store. I hate to say it's because of my color. I hate pulling that excuse to anyone. But I also hate to think that is the reason why because of the rudeness, ugly treatment, and ugly services I get.
Hopefully, this complaint will go through them and change their sour attitude or will get replaced with friendly employees who likes their job, servicing people, and treat everyone fair. Because, next time I go there and get the same treatment, I will report Body Central to BBB and take an action against them for discrimination.

Worst store to shop ever. Clothes don't fit right. They are super cheap and customer service is awful. You can't even return items to a store that you purchased online because -- get this -- Their online system is not the same as their store system. Are you kidding me?! AND the customer has to pay to ship the item back to the store. Very inconvenient. I paid for the shipping to ship it back, but I will never and I mean never shop there again. Not in store or online AND everyone I know will also be warned.

Body central is a bias company, who district manager in the Dallas Texas area has the Donald sterling mentality, she refuse to promote, and use as an excuse your not ready, but they do nothing to get you ready, but bring in another white girl, and train her, I've worked as their stores without a manager over 5 different times at several different stores.The DM, lies, and refuse to relocate me close to my home store that has a position open, but let me be white and she will do it.she has ever excuse why she cant make me a store mgr, high volume store I came from a high volume store, she will say that was the past, there no promotional potential for me with this company because of the color of my skin.

I can say this about Body Central, I don't believe it has anything to do with your color--their corporate policy towards employees are just very poor. They hire employees under the premise of performance based hours and promotion, but in practice it's much different. The employees ARE miserable because management expects them to stay in a small square, often the area of a few shelves, and get on their backs to the point of write ups if they leave it even to help customers. They send employees home to save payroll even if said employees have only been there 30 minutes to an hour but will keep the highly paid hourly managers on no matter how many are working. They write up employees for personal phone calls even if they refuse the call. While this may be slightly different from one store to the next, it's the way most of the ones I've seen are run, and a consistent thread I've heard from several employees past and present. They do not respect their employees, and the employees in tow are often in the process of looking for another job, which in turn means they have poor customer service. Their clothes are cute, but I do not recommend Body Central to anyone because of the poor way they treat their employees. Too many chiefs, and in this case too many Indians. I walk into Buckle, Aeropostale, Express, or most other stores and they give me amazing customer service with 1 or 2 employees on staff. Body Central will have 10-12 in a tiny store who are all fighting for any hour they can get and then they are told to essentially stay in a square like children and to approach customers in their square only. . .it's no wonder their enthusiasm is lower than that of other clothing retailers. . .It's a company that has no respect for their employees, and in turn it shows to customers. A rating of 2.9/5 by CURRENT employees and 3.6/5 on another site speaks volumes, and most of the positive reviews sound like managers themselves. . .surprise? I think not. . .

Owing to the horrible and tragic costumer service experience I ever received on December 7, 2011. There are names I want to addresses to you. Your costumer services representative on night shift dated above wouldn’t identify there last name. I’m not sure if this is company police, if so I find this to be very unprofessional.

Firstly I want to tell you a little about myself. I’m a African American single mother from Akron, Ohio. I have over 4yrs costumer service experience, 6yrs health care experience, as a Sate Tested Nursing Assistant also I am Licensed Practical Nurse Graduate. I’m currently enrolled at Akron University in there Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse bridge over program. Delivering outstanding customer service is held at high standard in my field of work. You should treat people with dignity, respect and no discrimination regards or your race, religion, gender or economic status according to The Civil Service reform act of 1978.

Secondly I want to address the major issue that I experience. I return my shoes that my mother brought me from your store. I didn’t have a receipt, so I was offer store credit which I agreed to. The issue I don’t understand, why was security guard Arell called to the store and was assign to the store until I left. This wasn’t just a major issue It was assault, it was very embarrassing and discriminating. I Feel body central was saying I was a thief without acutely saying it verbally! I traded in my item and paid the remaining balance. Sara and Tasha very rude sales associates an addition to lack of communication skills. Are those the kind employees you hire? If so I consider some reevaluation on the requirements for the position. Unfortunately I lost my keys and body central was the only store I visited at the mall. As of December 9, 2011 there still missing. I went to the food court to get me something to eat and that’s when I realize I lost my keys! So I went back to body central to ask if anyone seen any keys and the sales associate replied no. So I said can you watch my bag I going to go back to the food court and check and I will be right back. I ask a cleaning worker that was on duty if he had found a set of keys and he said sorry but no I didn’t. I went back to the store and a sales associate was helping look for my keys. I didn’t request for her names because I find her very pleasant, helpful, kind, understanding and professional, those are the kind of workers I recommend for hire. Suddenly I here a high pitch tone of voice in a very disrespectful way, stating I am not allowed in your store. I was very shock embarrass and couldn’t believe she would say those words to me! I understand people have a purpose for their action. She needs to justify for her action in a logical way. Sarah could not justify at all! So now I’m upset Sarah had no logical reason in kicking out the store she treated me like a piece of garbage. I didn’t do anything to your worker’s for them to treat me the way they did. I’m very upset as of today. I’m so thankful that I had an extra car key is my purse but I didn’t have and extra key to my resident. Sarah would not even allow me to look for my keys with the sales associate! What kind of company is this? Your staff has lack of training, lack customer service skills and they discriminate their customers! If this is how you train your employees I find this to be very horrible! I suggest some costumer service in-services.

Third I demand that you improve your customer service. I also recommend you get together with the worker’s stated above that was on duty to justify their reason. I would never spend my money with body central again. I been to the summit mall body central twice since it open up. I find it hard for me to visit summit mall again after being discriminated, disrespected, treated like garbage. Is this how body central train there employees? I will never visit a body central store as long as you stay in business. If body central at summit mall continue to treat there costumer’s like this on a daily bases. I feel this sore should be shut down. I am going to let my family and friends know to not shop at body central. I’m going to blog about this unfair treatment I received and also past out my experience to Akron university.

POOR QUALITY OF CLOTHES- POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I purchased a pair of dress pants there this weekend, and had put the pants on Monday morning to wear to work. Since I was planning on wearing them, I took the tag off. As I got ready to put my shoes on to leave for work, I noticed a hole along the seam of the bottom part of the leg. I tried to exchange the pants and get another pair, but was told that since the tag had been removed (I had brought the tag in with me), that they couldn't take them back. I understand that it is their policy not to accept returns without a tag, but I would also think it would be the policy of the store to provide quality clothes and good customer service. This is not the first article of clothing that I have had problems with in that store. It is a shame, because I do love the look of the clothes they provide, however, I have had other clothes that I've bought there, that have had seams or strings coming apart from them after only one wash. Guess I will just go back to shopping at JCPenny, since they stand behind the quality of their clothes and the prices are great.

Very disappointed that I now have to pay $20 for a pair of pants that have a hole in them.

My order from BodyC was very very very bad quality ! But I'm already put to trash order info so I not able to return it ( I'm ordering 3 different tops and all 3 was bad ( I'm so mad about this

I had no problem ordering from the site and getting my shipment in, but I had an item that was backordered and they tried to take it off by bill but instead charged me twice for the whole order! When I tried to call and talk to a customer service representative about it they would not help at all and said that they did not see that it was charged twice on my account. After talking between them and the bank for two hours the bank finally just took the extra charge off because body central was not going to do anything. The shorts I ordered were sized very small and I did a return...it has been a month and I still have not received a credit or the exchange I requested...I hope that this gets resolved soon. I will never order from them again.

i always shop at the BodyC.com and today i saw an item i feel in love with! in BodyC catalog i called them and the customer service Representative was like NO! i said what you mean NO! you did not even hear me out what i want. she said you can go to the website! she sound like she did not care or even want to help me.. I was like well i cant get to a website at the moment so please help me... i whent on Explaining what i need. i told her Customer service Representative i saw a pair of boots black boots she said NO! AGAIN... I was like what you mean NO! she said we have no black color available at the moment in any pair of boots we have only brown and gray... i said okay well can you look up some how the item number i am looking for and see if you have a back order for this item in this color... she said NO! you can go to the website I was like in my mind are you kidding me. then i said okay thank you bye! i immediately when to there web site i found 5 pair of different styles of flat boots in every color in kludging the black color... but i still do not have the item number from the catalog because they did not post one... so i called back rite away and i got the same customer service Representative what a luck for me! well i said rite away hi i just talked to you!she is like yes first time i heard yes from her... i was like well i just checked you website and you have black color in all boots she is like OKAY THEN YOU WANT TO PLACE AN ORDER i got so mad ! she did not say no sorry no i apology for miss informing you (me)! and still she did not look for the item that i saw in there catalog so i asked for her manager ... she Laughed... laughed at me !i said is there something funny that i am asking to talk to your manager !she said hold on ill get my supervisor on the phone... i said okay thank you... when the supervisor got on the phone i explain to him everything what happen for the past 45 minutes ... so he said okay i can help you! what catalog you are looking at i told him what Catalog then he asked what item...so i explain to him what item im looking for on what page... and guess what he found the item and the iten number and he found it in the black color what a shoker!how interesting the first customer service Representative could not do that! then i got so upset at that moment i was like i like to place a Complain this is what the supervisor told me.. (well i just heard you out is there anything els you want me to help you with!) i was so socked in a very very upset way! i could not believe what i was hearing then ... i said well can i get the item number he said yes i got the item number then the supervisor said (SO ARE YOU GOING TO ORDER OR WHAT! I Got so mad and i said no thank ...then i said have a good day bye.. then i was still so mad so upset i did find the corporate office address i did write to them a letter rite away i hope the corporate office can help out and train their employees in stores and online on the phone how to talk to people who are their customer! i am never shopping with them again unless they change ther customer service!

I have always done a lot of business at Body Shop and buying online at BodyC.com I ordered something off line and it did not fit. I call the nearest body shop to me and asked the employee if they could give me store credit. She said yes! So I drove all the was there and then she told me no she could not do that. I was very upset considering gas is not exactly cheap and I called ahead. I asked for her general manager’s name & I would later take it up with her. She got an attitude with me and refused to give me any managers name so I told her I was not happy with the store and how they ran things there and walked away as I was walking away this employee ran out from behind the checkout counter and put her hands on me, as I turned around I was ready to hit her, but did not. She was yelling in my face and all the ppl from the dressing room and in the store were staring. I informed her she can go to jail for touching me and is lucky i didn’t beat her [censor]. I went and got mall security and they tried to blow off the situation so I called me attorney and he informed me to call the police department and press charges. All I wanted was the manager’s name. After all that I finally got the security to go talk to her bc I was ready to press charges. I try to do the right thing and they act like there is nothing they can do. So that just tells me and anyone else instead of being the bigger person I should have hit her as soon as she touched me. I think Body Shop & the employees are getting worse and worse. After this I will NEVER shop from there again. And will publicly let everyone know what kind of people they have running their stores. It’s sad but someone has to be the first to try and start putting a stop to the nonsense. That employee should be fired. It’s unfortunate they lost a very valuable customer that day.
