Subway Bait and switch advertising tactics

Every few months We receive Subway coupons in the direct marketing packet.

Friends, Neighbors and work associates confirm the same.

There is NOT ONE Subway Restaurant in the Buffalo, NY Market area that excepts these coupons. When you get there they either have a sign at the order counter or some will tell you, "That due to high costs of goods, we do not except national coupons at this location". Then they proceed to steer you to the old menu items. Thus, "THE BAIT & SWITCH" ? After driving different days to different locations with multiple orders from family and/or Friends, We are forced to either change our plans and get food from some place else, or deal with the fact that we were conned into the lie in your advertising. ( we opt to get our food from other restaurants. This has also stopped many of us from going to your restaurants without coupons, due to the fact you now have a reputation of having deceptive advertising. You have forced us to go to the competitors. Where we are respected. Numerous others have said they have sent this same complaint on line with no response. So my assumption is you are aware of this and don't care or this confirms your marketing plan of deception is working.

Desired outcome: Stop advertising what you don't offer and Stop the Bait & Switch tactics

I went and got food Thursday June 29th and the big guy I think the Indian guy said his name was Matt he was very rude I asked for fresh mozzarella and he tries explaining to me why they don't have it and they are out of everything its ridiculous they need to learn to order more stuff or something and cook more bread it is crazy how do they expect people to spend their money there and they don't have food but anyway he raised his voice at me trying to explain why they don't have fresh mozzarella but I think they are lying because the one in Walmart has it but I didn't like the way he treated me and I was disappointed because I couldn't get anything I wanted because they were out of everything I will not return and they need better employees this is uncalled for.

Subway Stealing money coupon scam

Please see pics attached.

I arrived at the 1300 Clay street suite 160, Oakland, CA 94612 at around 1120ish. Same as I did the day before. But today I waited in line, I was with coworker. I young lady started to help me witha 6"#20 and the Asian man, maybe the manager interupted her to tell me that I could only use the coupon for"the build your own"but he hadnt seen what coupon I had, could be a free cookie. But I had the"Get a 6"meal for $6.49" code "6inchmeal649". I wanted the #20 so I told them forget the coupon just make me the sandwhich I wanted. When I got to the register he moved the young lady out of the way to ring me up even though he ws helping someone and she was helping me. I scan the coupon and he voided the coupon, did not honor it and charged me $7.29 by adding a more expensive sandwhich & by adding bacon for $.95 & adding cheese for $.50 coming to $9.64 for a 6"sandwhich. He then refused to give me the recipt and or my meal, drink & chips. He made a big scene when I asked for the recipt refused to help me to help other customers and membarrassed me in front of everyone. All because I wanted to use a coupon. I went home and used the app and as you an see I could not enter the sandwhich without using the code. Even without the code or meal the price should have been $8.81. But when using the code and adding the"Meal" it came out to only $7.16. I want my money back an apology and copensation for embarrasing me and ripping me off for no reason. I work around teh corner and come there alot, never again to any subways if this is how you operate.

My email address is [edited].

Desired outcome: want to be compensated for stealing money and not honoring the coupon they said they would

Subway Service

I did an online order today. I got there about 10-15 min early. There was a young girl waiting on another female in a bathing suit who she claimed was a manager. Because my food ready time was 6:00 the young girl refused to let the guy working make my food and instead he was to get everybody who came in after me. When a couple that arrived after me refused to give their order until mine was made (I explained to them why they were to go ahead because they won’t make my food) the girl working started screaming at both of us. I told her I’ll call someone about this. She told me I can call up there and speak to her manager. So I said oh the girl in the bathing suit you didn’t charge for her food? She said she was a manager so she didn’t have to pay. I understand my food not being ready but I don’t understand why I’m standing there and she’s making everybody who walked in after me food. Screaming at customers is definitely uncalled for! The couple she screamed at said they won’t be back. Plus there were blankets and pillows on the tables like someone had been sleeping there. This is a major health code violation. I probably she contact the Health Department about who to report that to.

Desired outcome: The girl needs a major reprimanding. I think the manager needs retraining too. Do you really want your managers in swim suits at work getting free food? Definitely get rid of the pillows and blankets.

Subway Sandwich had no meat on it. Paid $20.02 for a custom sandwich and no meat???

I ordered from the subway that’s located in the Walmart located off of Highway 1187 in Burleson Texas. I ordered it on the SUBWAY® website and DoorDash delivered it. When the driver handed it to me I noticed it was very late. We both inspected it and I took photos. All the veggies I requested but no cheese and no meat. $22 for a plain veggie sandwich. Either the person making the sandwich was trying to make a joke or they don’t seem to know what they’re doing. Tried calling no answer on the phone.

Desired outcome: I want a refund.

Subway Send Brandon to some manager/customer service training!

I have been a long time customer of subway. The last 5 times at this location have been a fiasco and they have totally lost my business and any one else who I tell. The place is SO dirty! it looks like there's grease all over all the windows and the sneeze guard up front. I gave it up for a while because of this. The DO NOT keep the hours they have posted. Today was it! I will never go to Subway again. I pulled into the drive thru and SAT for 25 mins! There were only two cars infront of me... They both FINALLY got on their way and I pulled up to the speaker and was told "wait".. sat there for another 15... heck, my lunch hours already over and if there were more cars in front of me, I could see the wait... pulled into the parking lot, got out after 35 min and went in. told them I waited a while and "Brandon" and the lady working with him got very defensive within 3 seconds. Brandon yelled and screamed at me the whole time he was fixing my food (which only took 3 mins when I went in) and then told me I was rude and ordered me to leave HIS store... Like I was gonna stay there and eat with Brandon! When I came into the store.. There were only two people infort of me... the store wasnt crowded, the drive thru wasnt crowded. Brandon was RUDE, disrespectful and OBVIOUSLY doesnt know anything about customer service. Why someone would leave him in charge of a store is beyond me... No more worries tho, cause I WILL NOT GIO BACK!

Thanks.

Subway Subway's Website Frustrates Customers: No Menu Without Purchase

So, I was watching TV late at night and saw a commercial about Subway's new menu. I was curious about what they had to offer, so I decided to check out their website. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find out that I couldn't see their menu without placing an order. It was frustrating because I really wanted to know what they had to offer, but I couldn't see anything.

To make matters worse, when I tried to leave feedback about their website, I couldn't do that either. Apparently, you need a receipt from a purchase in order to contact them about anything. I found this to be insulting because I couldn't even navigate their website to place an order, let alone make a purchase. It's like they don't care about improving their customer base.

If you're trying to decide if Subway is a good place to grab lunch, don't bother checking out their website. You won't get any information about their menu unless you're ready to place an order. It's frustrating and inconvenient. I suggest finding another sub place that lets customers see their information 24/7.

Overall, I was disappointed with my experience on Subway's website. It's not user-friendly, and it's frustrating that you can't see their menu without placing an order. I hope they improve their website soon so that customers can have a better experience.

Subway Disappointing Experience with Subway and Zomato: Incorrect Order and Poor Customer Service

I recently ordered a Corn & Peas Sub with Jalape?os Olives & Lettuce from Subway, but unfortunately, my order was not fulfilled correctly. Despite not selecting Onion & Tomato as my choice, my sub came with Onion, Tomato, Capsicum, a few black olives & some Celery, but there was NO CORN OR A SINGLE PEA inside. I was extremely hungry and disappointed with their service and customer service too!

When I tried to raise a complaint through the Zomato App, the lady who picked up the phone asked me not to argue, but I was only trying to explain what I ordered and what I received. I was hoping to get what I paid for, but unfortunately, that did not happen. I was left feeling unhappy and disappointed with their service.

To make matters worse, I also ordered a Peri Peri Chicken Sub + Iced Tea, but they sent us a Mirinda Can instead. This was highly disappointing, and I felt like they didn't care about their customers at all.

When Zomato called me back, they said they could only refund me 97 rupees, which was not acceptable to me. I had paid 209 rupees + taxes extra for my sub, and I felt like I deserved a full refund. I was still hungry, but I decided to make something for myself instead of ordering from Subway or using Zomato again.

I think that Subway and Zomato need to improve their customer service and listen to their customers' complaints. If they cannot fulfill orders correctly or provide good customer service, then they should stop selling food and shut down their showrooms. I am highly disappointed with their service and would not recommend them to anyone.

Despite my disappointment, I must say that Subway's food is usually quite good. However, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will think twice before ordering from them again. I hope that they can improve their service and provide better customer service in the future.

Subway Subway's Lack of Customer Service and Support: A Disappointing Experience

I recently had an experience with Subway's daily deal promotion that left a bad taste in my mouth. I went to a location and ordered the Sunday sandwich, which was advertised as a special deal. However, when I got to the counter, I was charged $6.00 instead of the normal price of $5.89. When I brought this up to the counter person, they didn't seem to understand the issue.

I reached out to Subway's consumer line for help, but their response was lackluster. They told me that the franchisee would contact me, but the location I visited was actually shutting down due to losing their lease. This wasn't the first time I had issues with this location - I had previously reported a leaking roof that had been going on for years, but Subway Corporate didn't seem to care.

Subway's policy of putting all responsibility on the franchisee for poor customer interactions is frustrating. It shows that they don't care about the customer experience and won't take any action to improve it. I've also had issues with their app and franchisees not properly training their staff to process orders, opening late, running out of merchandise, and having poor attitudes.

Their customer "care" is also arbitrary - they pick and choose what issues to respond to and what they consider an appropriate resolution. The worst part is that they force customers to continue interacting with bad franchisees, as if they want to punish us for complaining.

Overall, Subway's absence in the customer experience and lack of proactive customer service and support is disappointing. They don't seem to value their customers and it shows in their policies and actions.

Subway Poor Service and Quality at Local Subway's - Not Worth Your Time or Money

Went to this Subway's for the first time and let me tell you, it was not a good experience. The person who helped me seemed really annoyed that I didn't know which side of the line to go to, even though there was no sign telling me where to go. But after she corrected me, I could see that she was busy training someone else. Honestly, the trainer could use some serious training herself.

I ordered a large 'hot italian' sub, but what I got was not what I expected. The 'hot' part was just sliced pepperoni, no capicola or mortadella. And when I said I wanted a large, she thought I said small and started putting the deli meat on just half of the bread. I had to correct her and tell her I wanted a large, and she ended up using both halves of the bread. It was not a classy move, let me tell you.

And when it came to toasting the sub, her idea of toasting was just putting it under a light and melting the cheese. That's not toasting anything, in my opinion. When I got home and started eating the sub, I could tell that something wasn't fresh. Maybe it was the lettuce or tomatoes, I don't know. But I ended up throwing most of it away.

This Subway's is not going to do well if they keep up this kind of service and food quality. The trainer needs help, because whoever trained her did a terrible job. And now she's training others to be just like her, which means leaving food out that's not fresh or replenished. I'm never going back to this Subway's again.

I used to love going to Subway's elsewhere, but since I moved here, I've been trying to find a good place to grab a bite to eat after a long day out. This Subway's is definitely not my choice. I deserve great customer service and even better food when I'm entrusting someone to make my meal. There are other sub shops around this neighborhood that are nicer, more courteous, and have better tasting food. Don't waste your time or money here!

Subway Terrible Customer Service Experience at Subway - Refused to Add Cheese and Hung Up on Me!

I recently placed an order on subway.com for a veggie sub, but was disappointed to find out that I could only select one type of cheese. I decided to call the store to see if they could add more cheese to my order, but they denied my request and told me to make another order. When I asked to place that order, they told me they were too busy to take it. I even asked for their name, but they hung up on me! I was so frustrated that I had my daughter call back to make sure they cancelled my order, but they hung up on her too. It took two to three days to see the money back in my account.

We decided to drive to the store to see what was going on. When we got there, we saw at least three employees standing around doing nothing. The lobby was empty and there were no customers there eating. We tried calling them again, but they ignored us completely. I even took a video of the rude and disrespectful person running the show - a guy with pink hair who seemed to be a controlling individual.

I asked him why he hung up on us and ignored our calls, but he said I was rude and disrespectful. I know I wasn't, but I'm sure the other people only know what he's stating aloud. He refused to tell me his name or his manager's name, which made me even more frustrated. I asked if I could place an order, but he said no and that they reserve the right to refuse service to anybody.

This was absolutely the worst customer service I have ever come across at any Subway. The way they were all just openly hanging out, the way pink hair lied and said I was rude and disrespectful over the phone, the way he lied and said he was too busy to take my order - it was all just too much. This person does not belong as a lead or dealing with customers on a professional level. I hope they can improve their customer service in the future.

Subway Subway in Elizabethtown: Terrible Service and Stolen Money

I had a really bad experience with Subway. I ordered online and paid with my bank card. When I got to the store, they said they didn't have my order. I showed them my app and the pending order, but they didn't care. They said it wasn't their problem. I even showed them the store number on my bank statement, but they still didn't help me. They told me to cancel the order on the app, but there was no option to do that.

I asked for the phone number to corporate, but the district manager said they didn't have one. He said he never called corporate. He refused to refund me or make my order. I was really upset and frustrated.

I found the corporate customer care number online and called them. They said it was up to the store whether to make my order or give me a refund. I explained how rude the workers were and how they wouldn't help me. The customer care associate said my only option was to dispute the transaction with my bank.

I've never had to dispute a transaction before, but now I've had to do it four times in just a couple of weeks because of Subway. I'm really disappointed with their service. The store is also not very clean and the workers are not professional. I've seen them act childish in front of customers before. I don't want to deal with that, so I ordered online. But they still stole my money and didn't give me my food.

If you want Subway in Elizabethtown, go to the one on East Dixie or the one on Mulberry Street. Don't go to the one in front of Walmart. They are thieves and I'm going to contact the Better Business Bureau.

Subway Terrible Experience at Fishhawk Subway - Rude Staff and No Help with Missing Items

I had a really bad experience at Fishhawk Subway. I went there for lunch yesterday and ordered a meal to go. Unfortunately, they forgot some items in my order. I work across the street from the Subway, so I called them two minutes later to let them know. The cashier who answered the phone was really rude and unhelpful. He told me to talk to another employee named Anthony. Anthony was much nicer and promised to leave a note for me when I came to pick up my missing items - just some cookies, nothing major.

Today, I went back to the Subway to pick up my cookies. The same cashier who was rude to me yesterday was even worse today. I asked for Anthony, but the cashier claimed not to know who I was talking about. I explained that Anthony had promised to leave a note for me, but the cashier still refused to help me. He wouldn't give me his manager's name or his own name, even though I knew who he was. He just kept telling me to call the customer service number on my receipt, even though there was no number there. He even hung up on me!

I later found out that there were other employees in the store with him, and they were appalled by his behavior. I didn't even care about the cookies anymore - I just wanted to speak to his manager and let them know how rude he was. But he wouldn't give me the manager's name or any other information. His attitude was really aggressive and hostile, and it made me very angry. I've been going to that Subway for years, but I won't be going back there again. I'll be sure to tell everyone I know about my experience so they can avoid it too.

So if you're thinking of going to Fishhawk Subway, beware! Make sure you check your order carefully before you leave, and don't expect any help from the staff if they mess up. And if you do have a problem, don't bother asking for the manager's name - they won't give it to you!

Subway Disappointing Experience at Subway: Poor Quality Sandwiches and Unhelpful Staff

Subway is a place I've always loved, but my recent experience was the worst I've ever had at any Subway location. I've been a loyal customer since 1969, when my youngest child was born, and I've visited Subway locations in Alabama, California, Illinois, Iowa, and now Georgia. I've always enjoyed their salads, which are so fresh and tasty, and that's saying a lot! My son is now in his fifties and a chef cook who doesn't complain about other people's cooking because he says there are always extenuating circumstances that could prevent something from being exactly the way you intended.

However, I've noticed a significant change in the quality of the sandwiches, especially the tuna sandwich. When you see the Subway ad, it shows a delicious-looking tuna sandwich with real tuna showing atop the veggies. I tried one the other day, and it was a complete disappointment. I ordered two footlongs for pickup and requested the advertised price of buy one get one half price, but I had no code or other way to indicate the special price on the order. So, I asked when I picked it up, but the cashier told me there was nothing he could do because the order was already paid. I asked him if they could do a refund for the overcharge, but his answer was a flat NO! I told the cashier while I was in the store that I will never order from them again.

But this review is not just about the treatment by the clerk but about the order itself. Two sandwiches cost $25 plus tax because double meat was requested on the meat sandwich, with added bacon, and extra veggies, but only one serving of meat was given, and barely any veggies were added, even though extra meat was paid for! Extra veggies were asked for on both the meat and the tuna sandwich, but nothing extra was added to the sandwiches at all! Hardly any lettuce or onion on either sandwich. I requested no cutting, but both sandwiches were cut in half. The bread was old, and the top was crumbling off. What lettuce was on my tuna sandwich was so little it was wilted just from being near the watery tuna! And my son even complained about the meat sandwich he bought. I was shocked.

Regarding the tuna: What I received was a far cry from what is advertised! The tuna looks like salmon, and it's smashed so into the bun that when you look at the sandwich, you can't even tell what kind of sandwich it is unless you open it up and check under the veggies at the bottom where the tuna is smashed into the bread! I've included photos so you can see what I mean. And the taste? It's awful! It tastes like that cheap watered-down tuna you can buy in the can, dressed up with vinegar and something other than mayo and any kind of veggies, egg, or anything else! Thanks, but no thanks Subway. No more tuna sandwiches for me.

Subway Subway Florida Location Review: Poor Management, Dirty Store, and Stale Bread

I recently visited a Subway location in Florida, but I won't disclose the store number. Let me tell you, this place was a mess. The store was dirty and the bread they served was old and stale. Corporate policy states that old bread should be discarded no later than 11am, but it seems like the managers at this location don't care about that. It's all about who you know at this Subway. If you're not on the manager's best friend list, you're out of luck.

One day, the assistant manager had a bad day and shut down the whole store because she got into a verbal disagreement with a customer. This happened at 8am on a Sunday, which is already a slow day. In my opinion, customers should always come first, and if an assistant manager shuts down the store because of a personal issue, they shouldn't have a job. But I guess that's just how things work at this Subway.

The shift leader at this location is always 15-20 minutes late, but she never gets in trouble because her mom is the manager's best friend. It's clear that the managers at this location play favorites. The crew is understaffed and the night crew doesn't do any prep work, which means the morning crew has to do everything. The toaster oven handle and paddle are always dirty, and the cookie display is never clean. The night crew also refuses to pull bread, which means the morning crew has to do it all.

I used to work at this Subway, but I'm glad I quit. The stress of having to pick up the slack of the slow and sloppy staff was too much. The manager is poorly trained and should be fired. She goes on vacation all the time and doesn't answer her phone, leaving everyone stressed out. She also takes more than half of the employees' tips, which is not fair. Maybe she should let the staff that actually work have her tips.

The assistant manager still has her job after fighting with a customer and closing down the store. She also has bad hygiene and looks like a clown every day. The managers at this Subway clearly don't care about their customers or their employees. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone.

Subway Terrible Experience at Frisco Subway Location: Hidden Charges and Verbal Abuse by Manager/Owner

I gotta say, I'm usually pretty easygoing when it comes to reviews, but this one was a doozy. I wouldn't recommend this Subway location to anyone, and let me tell you why.

So, me and my fianc? stopped by this spot on FM 423 in Frisco, TX. We were excited to use a BOGO coupon for two footlong sandwiches, but things quickly went downhill. My fianc? asked for double meat on his sandwich, but was told he couldn't use the coupon and pay extra for the extra meat. He'd have to pay full price without the coupon. Okay, fine, we thought. But then, when we got to the register, I wasn't given any special cups for water. So, I grabbed two small cups and filled them up.

When we sat down, my fianc? checked the receipt and noticed we were charged almost $5 for two cups of water. What?! When he asked the cashier about it, he was told the water was free but the cups cost almost $5. That's ridiculous! I asked to speak to the manager, but the cashier said he was the manager and refused to change the charge. He even started yelling at us in front of other customers! My fianc? tried to explain that he had told the cashier we'd be drinking water, but the manager said he didn't hear him.

Then, the manager showed us some special cups that were hidden under the counter and said we should have asked for those. Um, excuse me? Customers shouldn't have to know to ask for special cups for free water. They should be available on the counter like the other cups. I asked for the franchise owner's phone number so I could talk to them about the matter, and the manager looked startled. He quickly refunded the amount of the drinks and tried to make small talk with us for the rest of our visit.

When we got home, I went to the Subway customer complaint site and filled out a complaint, asking for the franchise owner to contact my fianc?. The next day, my fianc? got an email apologizing for the matter and saying they'd shared my feedback with their team. But here's the thing - I didn't give any details about the visit in my complaint. I suspected the email was from the same person who we'd had the shouting match with. And when my fianc? called the number in the email, he recognized the person's voice as the manager's. The manager then said he was the franchise owner, but couldn't seem to decide which title he actually had.

He offered to call back later, but my fianc? told him not to bother. We were still upset about the verbal abuse we'd suffered. This was the first time we'd ordered a footlong sub from Subway and actually been hungry when we finished it. The manager/owner, Mr. Chirag M Patel, made sure we'll never visit this location again. And we'll definitely be telling everyone we know about the horrible experience we had.

Subway Disappointed with Subway's Lack of Communication and Delayed Refund

I'm still waiting for my refund of $21.16 for my order B751FBBD-ED that was unfulfilled on May 6, 2023. I was really disappointed when I found out that the Tyrone store ((zip ***) had no tuna, no provolone, no tomato, and no onion. I was really looking forward to my sandwich, but unfortunately, it wasn't possible. I received a call from the store, but they didn't leave a voice message or a returnable phone number. I tried to reach out to the store, but I was unable to get through to them.

It's now June 9, and I still haven't heard anything from Subway to resolve this issue. I'm really frustrated with the lack of communication and the delay in getting my refund. I'm disabled, and I'm unable to go to the store in person to resolve this issue. It's really inconvenient for me, and I'm really disappointed with the service I received.

I would appreciate it if Subway could refund my money as soon as possible. A paper check or a gift card would be nice, or at least a call or an email that I can reply to a real person would be nice. I don't blame the store employees for this issue; it's corporate's fault. There's no communication available to an actual thinking person, and it's really frustrating.

Overall, I'm really disappointed with my experience at Subway, and I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. The lack of communication and the delay in getting my refund is ridiculous, and I hope that Subway can resolve this issue soon.

Subway Unprofessional and Rude Staff at Canning Vale Subway - A Disappointing Experience

I recently visited the Subway located in Canning Vale, right next to the Livingston shopping center, with my family and children. We were all excited to grab some delicious sandwiches and enjoy a nice meal together. However, our experience turned out to be quite unpleasant.

As we were waiting in line to be served, one of the staff members started to prepare my sandwich. However, halfway through, she suddenly decided to leave my sandwich and serve the person behind me instead. I patiently waited for my turn, hoping that she would come back to finish my order. But after a while, I decided to ask the girl who was serving me if she was going to continue with my sandwich. That's when things took a turn for the worse.

The other staff member who had left my sandwich earlier suddenly went off at me, telling me to be patient. I tried to explain that I had already been waiting for a while, but she didn't seem to care. She even told me to leave and used some inappropriate language that I won't repeat here. I was shocked and embarrassed, especially since I had my young kids with me who were very disturbed by what had happened.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the service at this Subway location. The staff members were rude and unprofessional, and their behavior was completely unacceptable. I will never go back to this place again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either. If you're looking for a good sandwich, I suggest you try another Subway location or a different restaurant altogether.
