I'd like to start by saying I thought this company cared for there employees.
I had been with the company going on a year now.. I was thrown in a store that was distrored.. And me my self thought there is no way I could fix it.. But with my long hours and alot of sacrifices.. I made it a near model store back room cleaned and rolltainers that were from 2009 out. On this day of oct 29th I was told that I was terminated for breaking company policies.. One for my child being in the store after hrs but I told them that there was no one home and it was something that was not ment to be things happen and being that ther is a club right next to the store I wasnt about to leave my child standing out side.. That was one.. Two.. They say I left the store unattended when in fact that is false because I had a key holder there and I left for lunch I didnt leave for the day... I love my job and I sacrified alot for it and I worked my butt off for this job and I get let go for these two things.. Never had a warning or never got writen up.. My name was always on reports for being on top of everything that needed to be done.. I lived in the store iwas always there and the day I work from morning till night and diside to take a two hr lunch because I was going to be there from 7:45. Till 10:30 cause no one would answer there phones to come in.. So I had to be there all day I have to eat... And thats where they say I left.. For lunch... I got terminated for going to lunch...
I was wrongfully terminated from my job . I use to like going to work . I was called in to different store to help them and when I would go back to my store the manager cut my hours to 4 hours a week. Had made comment to other employees that he did not like me and one way are another he would have me fired. so one night two people came into the store and tried a quick change con. But the manager refused to call the police and called into the store two days later and fired me and then said he would call the police. But I was the one they tried this on but the police never question me about. So did Jeff the manager really call the police on this matter or was this a set up that Jeff and Robert had planned. I am in the process of seeking council on this matter. Jeff made the comment not to come to the store. That i was not welcome as a customer. this is the way the plaza sidney store operates. Robert does not know how to manage a district stores. He will not return any call or emails. He just annoys them. Jeff has never been trained to be a manager and has friends come to the store to hang out and with him on the phone and sitting in the break talking to them or out in the parking with them. I am hoping by seeking council on this matter will prove to Dollar General that the mistreat employees.

Wow, today I check my email and find out that I have tons of replies on this. I was curious to see what people were posting. Instead of being helpful I am pratically called a slut. People are posting rude comments to me. Honestly people need to get hobbies rather than picking on people who use this site to post complaints.
ten year old son that it was his fault I got fired. So what if I took a lunch break and left the store unattended. I work from 6am to 12am that is 18 hours. I need two lunch breaks for that. I was a key holder and I left the keys on the counter. Not my fault the person taking break before me took her whole hour he was entitled to when she knew I was hungry.
Sheesh. Grow up, can't you people do better than attack me.
Also the reason that my son is not allowed after hours is because he stole a chocolate bar while we were tiding up. I have talked to him about this but they refuse to forgive it.
As for the babysitter, no one wants to babysit my son because they discriminate against his behavior.
Bashing my son, you sound like his teachers who don't know how to deal with him.

Tasha, you wouldn't know the truth if it hit you upside the head. Just because you don't agree with a post doesn't mean you have to be snarky to the Op. Now, granted, some posts are just stupid. Do you ever have anything positive to say? Weren't you taught, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"?
I too use to work for dollar general in ohio and i was fired for takeing leave for a funeral. The manager was sexiest and lazy and very rude to other employees. when i tried to tell the dm about him he made excuses for him and said we where treating him unfair. then my dm asked me to write my problem down. This i did on a wednesday and by the next wednesday i was so called fired. I tried to contact someone from dollar general noone would talk to me or give straight answers.
