Days Inn General and assistant general manager go above and beyond

I recently was on a business/leisure vacation when the unexpected happened, I had purchased Hotel.com gift cards to pay for my extended stay thinking the advantage would prosper an easy and effective transaction for both the hotel and myself. Needless to say that is NOT what happened at all, I had completed a reservation for my extended stay on Hotels.com to use said Hotels.com gift card. I completed my booking with complete confirmation and input of gift card. I then went down to complete the reservation and was completely checked in to the hotel. The following day the General Manager and the Assistant Manager informed me that if I had another form of payment I could provide as Hotels.com had cancelled the reservation. I explained I had purchased the Hotels.com gift cards and that was where my money had been. I had called Hotels.com and of course NO ONE knows nothing and when given the confirmation number oh big surprise it doesn't exist in the system, but make you full aware that the department Interprocess@Hotels.com is the department that cancelled the reservation and read you a script and that the department will call you back in 3 hours, I have still to date almost 2 weeks later still awaiting for the phone call and when you contact them of course you cant call them and they always reply with a standard letter and think that is effective and gives them all right to cancel your reservation. I had even had someone from Hotels.com trouble shot every aspect to include a new email. Sad to say with the same ending result after check in have the reservation cancelled, the hotel I was staying at even attempted a diligent effort to assist in the matter with no action taken from Hotels.com. I personally will NEVER EVER be a customer for Hotels.com/Expedia.com or any of its affiliated companies due the never once attempted to resolve the issue leading to a complaint filled with different city, county, state, US government entities that handle matters in reference what had happened in my case, I had even contacted official personnel on a higher level to include CEO with no results. This action by cancelling my reservation's could have played a different out come had the General and Assistant Managers not seen for their own eyes and through communication that no one was willing to help to guarantee the reservation or why the matter of it being cancelled. Needless to say I had to pay yet again for a service provided by hotels.com and reasons unknown and not refunding any of my cash ot gift cards. So basically Hotels.com are thieves and no longer have me as a customer and have no respect for the company. Without the help of General & Assistant manager for not for their help I could have been arrested and placed in jail and career I have worked for all destroyed because Hotels.com could not do their job correctly, efficiently, professionally. And all I kept getting was am I'm sorry and that department will call you in three hours. I'm sorry when the outcome could have had that effect on my life with none of my doing you bet I take it personal and someone at Hotels.com is or should be held accountable instead of I'm sorry. And the General & Assistant Manager deserve praise as the related as a person not someone treated like another number reading off the general script they are provided. And the gesture to help resolve and help in the matter was way above and beyond what they needed to do. Again thank you

On entering the room, the first thing you notice is the overwhelming smell of burned plastic.
Big hole in the door frame in the bathroom
Shower head sprays to the side...floor got very wet - despite closing the shower curtain
Took me nearly 10 minutes to get the desk lamp to turn on.
Overloaded outlets - and I trust Michigan tap water before the electricity here. I've been complaining to the front desk about the electrical outlets for YEARS. THEY OBVIOUSLY DON'T CARE!
Renovated? 🤣🤣🤣 Really? Third grade community project?
Bathroom faucet leaks so bad that my husband had to put a towel behind the faucet to keep the water from running onto the floor.
Faucet is so short that it's difficult to so much as watch your hands
Lamp on nightstand periodically turns on and off on it's own.
Only one bulb on desk lamp works.
Wall light is faint and the lighting in the room is dark and insufficient.
The best part about this room (133) is the minimal traffic in the hall. However, having a mere door between rooms left me listening to a whole lot of laughter and talking in a foreign language for quite awhile. (Foreign or not is irrelevant unless you want to verify who was in the next room.)
To charge so much - and at a corporate rate no less! - takes a lot of gall. To charge more $50 for this room is almost criminal.
Doubt we'll be back

Days Inn Staff was rude and very uneducated about how to handle customers

We was getting the run around when trying to check in due to the fact that staff was rude and uneducated about customer service when trying to talk to staff they was going back and forth with customer and one another on the lack of communication and knowledge and the room was not what we requested and the room also had bugs in it and the toilet did not flush properly

IF the room was that bad, why did you stay? I have a feeling you are lying to get a free stay. IF you cannot afford a hotel room sleep on the streets or a homeless shelter.

Days Inn Overnight stay was the absolute worst!

AD read $70 was charged $115! PLUS an additional $125 for a Deposit? Then was told at check out they keep $35 of the deposit for a maintenance fee! WTF! There was NO shower curtain which caused a WET Toilet seat & WET Toilet paper! I'm not an

I will Sue person but this had Trip & Fall WRITTEN ALL OVER IT! The room was Filthy! Did not use the Frig or

Microwave they were nasty!

Bed had not been changed!

Could tell only one side had been used so they just threw comforter back on it!

"Continental" Breakfast was

a Breakfast Bar & JuiceBox in a Brown Paper Bag! R U SERIOUS?! Just say oh & a Breakfast Bar is a BONUS for $115! Trying to contact Corporate to get at least a partial refund!

Days Inn cancel 1 night of a 4 night stay due to injury at hotel property

I booked 4 nights at Days Inn by Wyndham in west Des Moines Iowa at 1258 8th street, West Des Moines IA 50265 from 7/31/23 to 8/4/23. On 8/2/23 I fell at this property and fractured my right ankle in 2 places, I sought medical care and upon returning to the hotel made a report with them indicating what happened. I told the desk person I would be checking out early due to my injury in the morning. When I checked out a day early I was told by the on duty desk person that he couldn't do a refund for the last night of my stay, the manager would have to do that. I contacted the manager by phone about this on 8/5/23 and he refused to credit me $131.04 for the total amount for the 4th night that was booked. I am seeking a refund of $131.04.

Days Inn Vancouver mall

Days Inn hotel Vancouver Mall in Vancouver WA is the most disgusting hotel I've ever seen. It is being overrun by drug addicts and homeless. The hotel is in such dire need of repair, the room doors don't even lock, and their is holes in walls and doors. It looks like drug addicts have torn this place up. It is unsafe for families with kids. Please do something about this hotel I believe drugs are being run through this hotel.

Desired outcome: Get someone in there to inspect this hotel and fix issue. I will never stay with a Wyndham hotel again.

Days Inn Condition of room/property

I stayed at the above location July 14 & 15, checked out July 16, 2023. The condition of this property was absolutely horrible. When I went to my room (#146) there was a dead cockroach and garbage in the entryway, both were still there when I checked out. Room had a musty smell, most of the furniture was older and well worn, the three lights in the room were missng lightbulbs or didn't work, carpet had holes worn in it, there were holes in the shower curtain, microwave was dirty, some of the interior finish on it was worn away, at night I would leave the vanity light on in case there were more cockroadches, the outside ice machine looked very old and dirty so I didn't want to use it. I called the front desk and reported the lights, etc., nothing was ever taken care of. Since I was only staying two nights I decided to tough it out.

Wyndam has always had a good reputation, or so I thought. I booked this location on line because of photos and reviews, but also because of location and price. Given the above conditions, I would never recommend or stay at a Days Inn again. I have photos but am having dificulty attaching them.

Days Inn Overcharged

The hotel is in Arlington, Va. 2201 Arlington Blvd. I booked through expedia and was charged right away the hotel price plus taxes. $93 the night plus taxes fees in the total of $125.

Getting there they have asked for a credit card where they would charge a $50 refundable fee. For some reason my credit card appeared the pending $50 and another one pending $43. I asked the front desk why and they said they didn't know why and this didn't appear in their system.

2 or 3 days later not only the two were indeed charged my credit card ($93) and now appears another $50 pending charge.

Desired outcome: I want the refund of the $143 deposit.

Days Inn Discrimination against my service dog

I had taken my service dog, whom is still in training, out for a walk. Her trainer came by to check on us and she was really excited. So as I proceed to take her inside and up to our room, she barked. Not at anyone in particular, she barked. As I was correcting her, the lady at the front desk yelled at me "what room are you in with her?" I told her my room number, and she raised her voice in front of a somewhat croweded lobby "service dogs dont bark" I politely said "shes still in training maam". She rudely replyed with her voice a little louder "service dogs dont bark maam". Mocking me in a way. About 30 minutes later she calls my room and asks if I had my service dogs registration and I said yes. She asked to see it. So I brought it down to her. It was online because I havent gotten her cards in the mail yet. She said "no I need the card itself." I told her I didnt have it yet but I had showed it to the manager when I checked in, he was actually the one to check me in, he didnt have a problem with her online card, when I told her the manager approved it, she said "well how am I to know that" as in calliing me a liar in a round about way. And she added that my dog also tried to attack a man in the lobby when all my dog did was bark once. She stated it was on camera. I asked to let me see it, she would not. This lady as the most rudest woman I have ever met. I will not be staying here at this location ever again. I dont even want to be here now. If it wasnt for my house not being ready to move into, I wouldnt stay tonight. This lady needs to be talked to about her manners and she needs to learn the laws of service animals. Her inturpupting me while I was correcting my animal, can be punnishable by law. I am not one to complain much nor am I one to cause trouble but something needs to be done about her attitude and the way she handles situations.

Desired outcome: the front desk lady needs to be repimanded for the way she treated me and my service dog.

Days Inn Disgusting accommodations

I paid $395.97 for a 3 night stay at your Auburn/Finger Lakes Region location at 37 William St., Auburn NY. Upon check in after a 75 hour work week and 7 hour drive, I was provided room keys. When we got into the room, we were less than pleased. The rug had not been vacuumed. The floors had not been cleaned. The shower was filled with dirt, scum and hair. Including all over the shower curtain. The curtains, rug, chairs, mini fridge and table were covered in stains and caked on leftovers. There were receipts and leftover food on the rug. There were toe nail clippings and bugs. We were denied request for a new room and left the hotel less than 12 hours after checking in. The conditions were unbearable, unacceptable and down right disgusting. I've been continuously denied a refund, which is absolutely unacceptable. I will be contacting every possible outlet until I receive a full refund. I have pictures to back up my claims, as well as a witness. On top of all this, when I complained of all this to the manager, his only response to me was that the entire city was dirty & disgusting. While he may be a native there, I am not. It doesn't constitute running a business that requires people to pay for accommodations that are unsanitary. I'm beyond upset and infuriated with not only this hotel but the lack of refund they are willing to provide. I should absolutely not be out any money for this at all. Especially after having to pay for an entirely new reservation somewhere else. I will be awaiting and expecting a response.

Days Inn Over charged and won't give a refund, safety issues

I am writing this complaint because I wanted to notify Wyndham hotels of the handling of guests. I booked a room at days inn merced,CA. I paid for a deluxe room which is supposed to include a mini fridge and a microwave. I paid extra to get a mini refrigerator included in the room. When I checked in the room I was told it was the only room available, I made my reservation a week in advance. The room doesn't have a refrigerator. It also doesn't have a smoke detector or sprinkler, which is against the law. I stayed here with my wife and children. This puts their safety at risk. I was only given 2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths. There are 4 of us. The hotel staff stated it was all they could give me. When I walked to the front desk I noticed several rooms clean and ready to go with refrigerators, smoke detectors, and microwave. The front desk clerk said the rooms were for other people with reservations. I informed her I had an reservation as well. I was given a standard room but charged the deluxe price. My platinum match from caesars rewards was not honored as well. We came early at 11am to see about early check in but was told to show up to check in at 3pm, but the room was not ready. We waited for the room to be cleaned. We were given a damaged room. We ended up checking in at 4:30pm. Our room did not have a working phone either. I feel I have been discriminated against, because I was told that there weren't any rooms available but people were walking in and getting rooms that had a refrigerator available. I have a video showing rooms that have refrigerators were available. We paid for a deluxe room but was given standard. They will not refund us the difference since we were not given what we paid for.

Days Inn My room # 127 my confirmation # 82462ee007785 5/12/23 and 5/13/23

To whom it may concern, I felt the need to advise you of the severity of the condition of this one of your hotels which is totally misrepresented by the photos in the web site. this hotel is in such poor condition it should be shut down immediately while renovations are done. My room furniture was so worn out the finish was worn off. the flooring was also. there was no place to hang cloths the space where you normally would the clothing rack was removed and not replaced. there was no ironing board the iron was sitting by the sink. the base board molding was peeling off in 3 places. the towels and bed linen were all old yellow dingy. The room at night would have a damp mildew smell when you first walk in. The pool deck was very worn and had green mold I chose not to use the pool. I would have not even stayed but we were on a tight schedule, and it just clean enough to get by. the breakfast was very poor the Rasin bread was stale they had only hard-boiled eggs and sausage only 3 yogurts nothing looked fresh, When I asked the clerk because it starts at 6 am and I was there at 5 minutes to 6am so it's not like it was picked over, and the clerk reply was this all they give me to put out. I will never stay there again. I am actually in customer service for one of the big 3 car companies. I am not allowed to use their name in such instances.

Days Inn Cleanliness and hotel room functions.

One of the worst experiences ever at any hotel. We checked in a little before 9PM on Friday, May 5th. The problems were evident immediately.

1. Carpet was very dirty - apparently not vacuumed.
2. Toilet seat was missing the covering in two areas exposing the inner core of the material - some sort of press board - very unsanitary condition.
3. There were numerous stains on the bed spread.
4. The faucet handle at the sink was not attached. It just lifted off the unit.

We contacted the manager - he attempted to fix the handle but was unable to. He did show that the faucet would work, however. We requested another room - the manager said none was available. The room assignment was 206. When we entered the hotel he was explaining to another person that the smoking rooms were on the second floor. Again, when requesting a first floor room we were told there were none available. At this point we decided to leave the hotel and seek accommodation elsewhere.

I turned in the room cards and left - the person at the front desk asked if we wanted a different room - that was confusing as the manager told us none were available.

After contacting Priceline customer service to explain the situation - Priceline apparently contacted the hotel to request a cancellation refund. The hotel manager refused.

I find this unacceptable. Even a 2 star rated hotel should provide basic cleanliness and working fixtures in good repair at the hotels. This location reflects very poorly on Days Inn.

Days Inn Loud air conditioning/heating unit & pool was so cloudy with stuff floating in it!

I don't have an itinerary number. I just have a receipt that was sent to my email on March 30th for the room we had booked at the Days Inn by Westgate in Sioux City, Ia. We didn't get there until after 7 p.m. that night. & the main reason I booked a room there was because they had a pool. My 13 yr old son & I put our suits on & went straight to the pool. When we walked in you could immediately see that the water was extremely cloudy looking. My son got in & I was pretty apprehensive but started to get in on the ladder. As I was getting in I could see there was stuff floating in the pool so I got back out & got the net & to try & get whatever it was out & when I pulled the net out it was full of what looked like pubic hair. I told my son to get out & we went back to the room. It was starting to cool of outside so we turned the heater on in the room & that heater/AC unit was so incredibly loud. I knew that I would never be able to sleep listening to that all night. I told the girl at the front desk that we were gonna be looking for somewhere else to stay. We packed our things back up & turned room cards in to her. I also had told her that the room was still clean & they wouldn't have to clean it because all we had done was change clothes in there. The front desk girl said I would have to come back in the morning to talk to manager about getting our room refunded. We found a room & stayed at the Super 8 that night. We went back to Days Inn the next morning & the guy who is the manager/ owner said that he would not refund the cost. of the room to us because he said it would have needed to be cancelled or whatever by it was like either by 4 pm or by 7pm - I actually don't remember for sure the time he stated. I said to him that we didn't get here until after 7 last night & that how was I supposed to know that the pool would be disgusting & that the heater/AC unit would be incredibly loud. He then said that there wasn't anything wrong with the heating unit or the pool & that I needed to quit saying anything about the pool. He then told me that he couldn't give me a refund because I booked it through a third party & that he hadn't gotten pd from them yet. He stated that he only gets pd from the 3rd party once a month. He was very mean & rude. We left & I then called the number of where I booked it through. They told me that he had already been pd by them for my room & that the only thing that they could do was to call & ask him if he would agree to refunding me. I told them the whole story & also told them that I knew he wasn't going to agree to refunding me - which is exactly what he said. & I also know for a fact that they weren't out any money because of us not staying there because when I was standing at the desk that morning a guy came up & turned in his key cards for the room that we were complaining about & left. Any help would greatly be appreciated! Thank You,

Days Inn Room cleanliness

I and my husband stayed here in February 2023 as it was right next to Lovelace Medical Center. The room was horrible, I will never stay here again. I used to work for Days Inn and I would NEVER have kept my job if I left a room looking like this! The toilet was broken as was the toilet paper roll holder. The bathtub couldn’t have been cleaned as someone else’s soap was left in the tub. My bedspread had stains on it, trash cans filthy, dirt under headboards and bed itself, no toilet paper (they had to get some out of another room as that’s all they had), and TV batteries were dead. My husband had to run to the front desk 3 times because of above. To top it all off, they had false advertising as they quoted around $58/night; we paid $87/night. I will never stay there again! People must already know about this as there were only maybe 5 cars in the parking lot. If you need access to a motel for downtown, do yourself a favor, pay a little extra and go somewhere else. Horrible experience.

Desired outcome: I would like at least a partial if not full refund due to all of the above.

Days Inn Local Customers not allowed

I’d like to know if there is a company policy stating that local residents are not allowed to book and stay at the Days Inn located on Woodlawn Rd in Charlotte NC.

I booked my reservation online, through the Wyndham Hotels website. But upon arrival, I was not allowed my stay at the hotel (stating their policy did not allow stays to locals). My residence is in Matthews, not Charlotte).

I find this unjustifiable and discriminatory at the least. Please explain this and if Wyndham Hotels supports this action.

Days Inn Hazardous, insanitary

Unsanitary, hazardous, Staff did absolutely nothing treated us like we were criminals an like we did it. Me an my boyfriend were very tired we had been driving for 2 days we were in our room maybe 5 minutes an fell asleep we were so tired. Woke up next day phone dirty underwear that did not belong to neither one of us next to the toilet. Then we thought maybe we could just change rooms cause we wanted to stay another day an relax my boyfriend opened the top drawer cause cause he was gonna put clothes in there an he found 2 used syringe needles, That's absolutely ridiculous to find that stuff and I paid over $50 and was not even offered any kind of refund discount nothing, pardon my french but I WAS PIST! What kind of of people are you trying to attract? I would most definitely not recommend anyone ever staying at a Days Inn after this incident. I hope something is done eventually, what if I had my Grand children there and one of them got a hold of it. Absolutely ridiculous ridiculous an very hazardous.

Desired outcome: Nothing was done at all no discount nothing. An they followed us around like we did it an we brought it to there attention an after we did we were treated like criminals, they followed us around till we left the property.

Days Inn Cleaning services

I stayed at days in Postage Indiana from January 6th to 7th and had to request for another room in the middle of the night due to stomach turning stains on the walls of the washroom and the TV not working. I settle in another room and discovered dirty areas before check out. I started off in room 205 then was I transferred to another room after speaking to Sid a rep. I'm requesting for my points added back on to my Wyndham account. My number is [protected] email. [protected]@gmail.com

Desired outcome: Refund my points back to my wynham account
