Dollar Tree - Employees

Good Afternoon! I shopped at your store on 05/27/2021 @ 1140 Smallwood Dr W Ste A Waldorf MD 20603. On the day I have purchased an gift bag and tissue paper to put my niece birthday gift in in. At the time I was with my other two nieces as the was shopping as well. With a lot of things going on and my personal life been under a lot of stress son been sick for a while now he also had an appointment on 05/28/2021, but due to what have occurred on 05/27/2021 had to reschedule. I am also dealing with death in the family. Back to 05/27/2021 on that day I forgot my wallet in the store that was the last place I was at and the last place I used my bank card. 05/28/2021 I went back to the store as soon as I got up. When I arrived to the store one of the cashiers looked at me strange like she seen an ghost. I kept walking past to the office to speak to the manger Berry, even when he saw me he had an funny look on his face. I told Berry about my wallet he told me in I come back after 3pm he can rewind the security tapes back. I said ok and left but came back around 1:40- 1:50 ish. He told me again to come back after 3pm even though the store was barely crowded.

I left and came back at 4:20 pm asked to speak to the manager and Mr. DeAndre came and I talked to him about every thing. He told me Mr. Berry was gone for today but he will give him a call. DeAndre told me Berry will be in at 8:30 pm to help with closing. Berry is the only one able to rewind the tapes back because he have the code. I asked again before I left again 8:30 he said yes. I come back 8:30pm Berry wasn't there. I asked DeAndre to call him to see what time he was coming. After a while another employee came up saying who is the woman about the wallet. I told him me and started telling him what happened and how I kept getting the run around . He stated normally when people lose an wallet they get it right back. I said to him the only difference is my stuff is out of state, and they way Berry is acting seems like he has something to do with it. The guy nodded his head and walk off and called Berry. He comes back saying Berry is with his daughter he will be here. So I stayed in the store standing there waiting in front of the office. Berry walks in at 9:44pm and walks in look at me and walks right pass me. He goes into the office talk to DeAndre the walk out and walk to the back. He comes back up asking me where was I at when I lost the wallet .I said I don't remember I brought XYZ and that was it. If he would have rewind the cameras back like he said he was it would have shown I was in the front by check out. Instead of rewind the cameras back he said he can't go around walking with me.
At this point I'm frustrated and he is talking while walking off. I yell I have been here for different times and all you did is gave me the run around. He came back up saying he was off and at this point he was doing me a favor. Another employee came up, because at this point he saw it wasn't going well. I even yelled what if I was your daughter to Berry you don't know what I'm going threw all I want is my wallet. So the employee that walked to me asked to walk with him to look I told him about everything . Berry started walking toward us to see what we was doing. The employee was telling Berry she lost her peoples (family member died) I'm trying to calm her down and help her. So the employee walked around trying to search, then asked me to write my number down if he finds it he will give me a call. He was more professional then any of the other employees. At the end of the day I just want my wallet back don't care about the cash my son has another appointment on 06/03/2021 to check his liver and how can he go to his appointment without my ID or his insurance card. I don't want to have to go to the police or all forms of social media an stated one of dollar tree employee stole my wallet. Hopefully to here from you soon and someone makes it right because NO customer should have to go threw this.

Desired outcome: rewind the tapes so it shows who have my wallet

This is the bag and tissue paper I brought, also showing the bag it was brought in . The bag you are trying to claim I threw away and I made sure it has the date showing .With that being said nothing was thrown away. He should have rewind the tape back like he said.

I do not care anymore. I found out that my niece and son stole my wallet. I got it back. I am so disappointed in my son. I hope he dies. I wished he died instead.

I would like to add one more thing. I found out my son was also involved in the theft if my wallet. I was so angry that I punched him in the face. Someone called social services and my son is in a foster home.

Hello I am Barry here, the person whom you are claiming to have stolen your wallet. I have not stolen your wallet and I will be perusing legal action if you do not remove this review within 72 hours. I have already contacted a lawyer about these false allegations to this woman who is committing libel and defaming my character. If this false accusation is not removed by Tuesday June 1 2021. I will be taking legal action.

He did not use your last name, so I do not know if you can take her to court. Then again he did use your name and your store location. If you do take this man-child to court I hope you win. This will teach him or her twice before making false accusations.

Never mind. I just found out that my niece stole my wallet. My son told me later on. Money was missing. I talked to her parents. Problem solved.

No one stole your wallet, the reason people were looking odd at you was because you were acting erratically the day before. If the store has surveillance cameras at all and they actually work they likely do not cover the area you left your wallet if you even left your wallet in the store at all. You probably left it in the bag of thing you bought and thinking the bag was empty you throw it away. Personally I'd only look in the drawer at register 1 and on the checkout counter, anywhere else would take too much time. If you wanted to look yourself around the store that's fine but that's on your time not mine.

I was not acting erratically at all that is an lie . I was near the cash register area when I lost it an I know the cameras do work in that area. And if it wasn't a big deal . As many times as Berry said he will rewind the tapes he should have did just that and just proved me wrong than. I did not throw my bags away it's still in my car . I brought and gift bag and tissue paper for an gift for my niece. That also shows your customer service and professionalism with your comment

Granted Berry should have never offered to review the surveillance cameras period, but being as it is a burden to follow through with that offer it can be rescinded at anytime without explanation. They have too much work to do then to worry about customer's who lose their wallets or other belongings. Ultimately customers are responsible for their own belongings. If they lose them it's their responsibility to find them not the stores.

And unless the following word after a/an begins with a vowel or sounds like it begins with a vowel you must use a not an. I also have to ask how do you know those cameras work or that they were working at that time. Most employees always say they have cameras all over the store and that they always have multiple employees in the store at one time even if they don't. Probably the reason he didn't review the surveillance cameras is because he doesn't have cameras to review.

Do not correct this person's English. If they do not have enough sense to take responsibility for their actions they are not very smart. If they are going to claim that you work for the company for stating the obvious they are not very smart. They may be an adult but they are no more mature nor are they smarter than a seven year old.

I Don't know what employee is trying to reply under me, but you failed just took an picture of the entire comment section. If you notice my name is Blair88 when I comment the person who comment trying to be me is showing up as Blair. As for the person commenting under Wrrt your not even using your real name . Stores will have cameras working where the register are. Also you talk about careless it doesn't matter who you are you will forget something once in a while. Also it shows that what I said was true about the professionalism in that store, and yes I did use the right word look it up.

I'm not acting like an 2 year old if you read my comment you will see I said it do not matter who you are you can lose something. The right thing to do was for Berry to rewind the tapes like he said he was going to do . Instead of keep telling to come back at different times and do nothing. Now if I had made a police report they would have made them rewind the tapes back. The back and forth gives off suspicious acts. Once again stores going to have working cameras near the cash registers.

If the other manager stated Berry can only rewind the tapes back I have stated in my compliant . That mean its surveillance cameras could be reviewed. Also in my complaint I stated the other manager called he again and he told that manager 8:30. All he had to do is what he said he was going to do with out the run around that wasn't needed . Also all this took place in the front where cash registers and they small office . This is not English class no need to talk about grammar .

I doubt these other people are employees just so you know. It's easy to tell which comments come from which account so don't worry about that. I guess you simply will not be convinced that not all stores have operating cameras, problem with corporations is when something breaks it almost never gets fixed. My store was without operating cameras for 4 months and the only reason they got fixed at all is because the company switched internet provider that required new installation hardware, otherwards I'm sure the system would still be out today. Last year I was loaned out to a store that didn't have surveillance cameras period, and the year before I was at a different store where the camera on register 1 and the front entrance must of had a bad connection cause it was snowy and kept flipping from black&white to green and blue. At my store the receiving doors yawn was hit by a delivery truck several years ago still hasn't been replaced or removed and is a constant falling hazard. Sometimes it's better let people think your a foul then to speak and remove all doubt
