Subject of Complaint:
Innovative Web Pros – Misrepresentation, Bait-and-Switch Upsell, and Predatory Conduct Toward Senior Consumer
Details:
On March 27, 2025, I paid $4,250 to Innovative Web Pros for what was marketed as a “push-button” system promising automated, turnkey business functionality. The initial offer was presented via pbmethd.com/fbe2 — a site flagged by multiple watchdogs (ScamAdviser, ScamDoc) for deceptive content and false earning claims.
Shortly after purchasing, I was contacted and upsold into a “better” version of the program with a verbal promise that my original payment would be refunded. After prolonged pressure, I eventually received that refund — but only after extensive follow-up.
The upgraded service required substantial manual effort, delayed website delivery, and technical tasks far beyond what was promised. I was repeatedly pressured to select product inventory — starting with 500 items, then escalating to 5,000 — and told I needed to work with multiple vendors to make the site viable.
One of those vendors, Doba LLC, informed me that access to sufficient inventory and drop shipping features would require a paid membership, which I was encouraged to secure. I was never told whether Innovative Web Pros receives a financial benefit from these referrals, but the intensity and timing of the push suggests a potential kickback arrangement. This raises questions about undisclosed affiliate relationships and adds to the concern of predatory upselling tactics.
As a senior citizen, I believe I was exploited through high-pressure sales, misleading advertising, and unrealistic fulfillment expectations. The company now denies my refund request, citing a 3-day cancellation clause — even though delivery of promised services stretched over weeks and required significant effort on my part before any evaluation could reasonably occur.
I am formally requesting an investigation into:
• False or misleading advertising practices
• Pressure-based upselling, including potential vendor referral arrangements
• Exploitation of vulnerable consumers
• Unfair billing and refund practices
• Potential violations of FTC Act Section 5 (deceptive and unfair practices)
