Mechanic Advisor is a pretty good option for auto repair shops that want to get more visibility online. However, there are some issues with the salespeople that work there. One guy in particular, , is a real piece of work. He's slimy and pushy and will do anything to make a sale. He even tried to trick the owners of an auto repair shop into buying a useless link that was supposed to be an upgraded listing. Basically, you pay for an upgraded listing and you get a link back from their directory. It's kind of like buying links, but not really. Either way, it's not a good deal.

The worst part about *** is that he doesn't even know what he's talking about. He doesn't understand the keywords that are important for auto repair shops like ours. He was so focused on making a sale that he didn't bother to figure out what we actually needed. We all listened to him on speakerphone and laughed as he made a fool of himself. It was pretty embarrassing.

The truth is, Merchant Mechanic (which is what they call their upgraded listing) isn't worth the money. In our area, they don't even rank on the first page for the most important keywords for transmission repair shops. So why bother paying for it?

And if you do decide to work with Mechanic Advisor, make sure you avoid *** at all costs. He's the worst. He talks over you and doesn't listen to what you have to say. He's not interested in building a relationship or making a good impression. He just wants to make a sale. It's pretty clear that this is the culture at Mechanic Advisor Inc. They don't care about their customers, they just care about making money.
