I was originally a store manager but I was going to moving out of the area and was suppose to move to a state that there was not a Dollar General. So I still wanted to be rehirable if there was a chance that I could ever work for the company again. It took over a month to step me down to assistant manager. The manager that they brought in to replace me was the old assistant manager that had walked out on me before I was store manager with no notice. She had actually gotten into the computer with the old manager log in information and made herself rehirable before walking out. At that time I informed the dm and he didn't say anything. Once they dropped me back down to assistant manager I ask the dm what the pay would be and he told me the highest an asm would be able to make. He said we would have to transfer me to the other store to get the pay and then transfer me back. which we had tried but it kept saying rejected by the RM. I asked multiple times to be

able to transfer back to the store closet to my house. They had told that manager and other managers they were not going to allow me to but never told me. When that store had extra hours I went over to help get the store cleaned up for extra hours. I was then told I couldn't do that anymore. So I put my two weeks notice in cause driving 60 miles to and from work with the pay that was lower then promised was barely covering fuel. After my two weeks was put in, during Christmas time I was expected to close the store by myself at 11 pm because the manager didn't want to come back in to help close. As assistant manager I would let the manager know what was going on with others during my shift. That one employee would have his mom come in and tell me that he wasn't working cause his tire was flat or he was sick ect. Or if he was on shift sitting in the parking lot clocked in on the phone or talking to his wife. Nothing would happen to said employee. Well I had 4 shifts left and my car broke down. I told the manager that I wasn't able to make it that night and would try to have it fixed asap. I was told that if I didn't show that night the dm said he would put me in as unrehirable for missing one day in the whole time I worked there. The told me I had to accept a ride to and from work from from the other employee. Well I let them know I didn't feel comfortable with that cause what happens if the person didn't answer there phone when it was time to take me home. I was just waiting for my check to be able to get the part for my car. The manager said it was fine to get my car fixed and she said that she was going to take me off the schedule just in case it wasn't fixed right away. Well i got ahold of her and said let her know I would bring the keys back asap if I was actually fired or if I could continue to work the 4 days and she said I was fired. They never took me out of the system so a couple weeks later I reached out to RM to see if they could just put me over at the other store moving me down to a lead so if needed I would be able to walk to the store. He told that manager it shouldn't be an issue except my family member would have to quit which was fine. but then after speaking with dm he decided against it.

Claimed loss: I lost the chance to be able to work at dollar general again

Desired outcome: To be able to be rehirable cause I have moved to a new state and would like to work for dollar general again
