I cannot express how disgusting this company is. I was a young college student who was self employed and paid Humana for years!!! The minute I had any issues and needed help - they canceled my policy and made it impossible without attorneys to get medical bills paid. They should be out of business๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜“๐Ÿ˜“...

Humana - Coverage & Customer Service

I have 2 complaints. The first one being that after calling Humana to get assigned a primary care doctor I then immediately called that doctors office and got an appointment for 30 days out. After going to my appointment on March 10th and being told to see a cardio specialist right away, I then receive a letter from Human the next day saying the primary doctor is no longer in my network and I had been assigned a new one that is 42 miles from my house!
Second complaint is that it is the following business day and I am trying to reach Humana but their website is down and I have been on hold...

I bought some oxygen equipment I found out it was out of network it cost me $3, 300 to but them I am on disability so that is a lot if money to come up with Humana will not reimburse me also now they are saying they don, t have authorization to rent me machines now they had already rented my machines but when I bought the other machines they discontinued renting if I don, t get reimbursed I cannot pay the credit cards and might lose my machines please help me...

When I signed up with Humana I had no idea how incompetent, unorganized and heartless this company is. I filed a grievance last year with regards to the amount of Morphine I must take to control SEVERE headaches caused by meningitis in 2002. I suffer 24 hour a day headaches that make a migraine headache seem like a good time. I explained the situation last year and my Doctor explained the situation last year. Humana makes like there there for the customer but they are not they consistently try to get out of paying claims or making it vague what they pay for and then beat you over the head with there policy book and there customer service is rude and no help.For instance a doctor that treats me works for the county and treats me and they bill for him through the county so Humana says he is out of network even though there book says he is in so they say I have to call the Doctor and and have him make tax records for himself to turn in to them or I get charged 50% co pay Instead of 0 which is not my problem...

Social Security made a mistake, they put me on Medicaid, after 10 years I finally got the correct medication to which I had no side affects. after trying many medications, found my genetics limited me. My wife had an accident 14 months ago where she broke off her good teeth from her gum studs from a serious fall. She suffered in excruciating pain for many months while we submitted numerous appeals because Humana said "dental" was not covered (all initial appeals are ruled upon by Humana paid people). Humana continuously blocked us from receiving medical attention on every point!

Finally we got to the Federal Court of Appeals. The judge ruled fully and completely in our favor, stating that if an accident caused the damage to her teeth it cannot be considered routine dental, and...

Your insurance coverage details are outlined in what is called your 'certificate of coverage'. Surely you can access this from Humana's website. No, it is not available on the web. I called Humana and was told they would not send it to me. Tiffany told my husband that she could look up our plan to reference our certificate, but it would take a couple of days. The claims come back as "penalty applied for not obtaining pre-authorization, " or they don't pay within the 15 business day time period required by the state of Georgia, or they claim there is a co-pay owed. I own a small medical practice in Kansas. About 5 months ago Humana abruptly stopped paying my patients' claims. Repeated calls and emails to my designated local representative went unanswered. Finally after numerous calls to the national organization Humana determined we needed to sign a new group contract. I was given a reference number and told to expect a contract in the mail. I have this brain condition which also involves my eyes. I have been going to the same eye doctors down the street since I was a little kid. THEY are the ones that discovered my brain condition and they have all the tests, medical equipment, and prescription writing abilities to take care of it, but Humana says I can only go to them for glasses and check ups but anything involving the condition I have to go all the way into the city to the main campus for a guy to do all the same tests my local eye place did. Humana refused to address my request to disenroll in the medicare prescription program. I was given false information by a representative who did not inform me that I did not qualify for Humana as I already had insurance from my job and when I tried to disenroll I was given the run around (i.e. medicare guidelines, closed open enrollment, failure to file grievance within 30 day period, etc.) So, for 3 years I paid for insurance I did not need or use.

The Medicare guideline are set up to protect the insurance companies not the American people. BEWARE.

About six months ago, my husband's company switched from United Healthcare to Humana health insurance. The first thing I did was go to Humana's website to make sure our family's doctors - my son's pediatrician, my OB/GYN, and our family dentist - were in Humana's network. I needed a series of three hepatitis B vaccines for nursing school. I called my prescription drug insurance to see if it is covered. They told me since it is a vaccine and not a prescription, it would have to be covered by my medical insurance.

I called Humana and asked if this is covered. They told me yes it is covered. I had to pay upfront and then send them the information and they would reimburse me. I asked are you sure? Every time I turn around Humana decreases what they will pay for. The most frightening thing is the pain and sleep medication I have been taking all my life. They just stop covering medication that is addictive! I hope every one of those executives and the "fake helpful" service reps come down with MS, Cancer, Diabetes, and every other incurable condition and they can't find any insurance to cover thier basic needs.
