The Velvet Lounge review: Bad karaoke bad management

We went to The Velvet Room karaoke lounge for two nights. The first night was great with a young man as the KJ, however the drinks were double in price from any other karaoke lounge. The young man did a real excellent job in managing the karaoke that night and a nice crowd.

However, the next evening we were expecting the same outcome only to be very disappointed. The KJ was a young lady who did not know how to run the soundboard and there was a very rowdy group of young men in there that were screaming songs so loud that it was hurting the ear drums. Then the young men screamed go louder which the young women did and you could not even sit at the bar that it did not hurt your ears. She made a point to please these young men and not even think about the other people in the bar. She did not know how to use a sound board and the music played louder than the singer. She did not seem to care at all. We spent a $100 dollars in there the night before and were willing to do the same that night, but we just left because the attitude of the young men was that they wanted us to leave so they could have the bar to themselves. There was no manager in the place to police what was going on and it just escalated. We will not ever go back and we came from many miles away to have an enjoyable evening that turned into a nightmare. We have a big group of karaoke friends and I will surely tell them not to go there if they go to Fredericksburg.
