My name is Tanechia Edwards and I am writing this email about an order I made three months ago and have encountered nothing but problems. The king-size mattress was removed from the order, leaving only the queen-size mattress and the king's foundation. The staff canceled the king mattress which I never told them to do. I have spent many days and hours trying to rectify the situation. Therefore I am asking you to look into this situation. The bed has a pot hole in the center!
We purchased the bed at Ashleys Home Store Sealy 2491451M Rockwell CG LX UL FR QN MAT $2,099.00 on 10/9/2021 in Salem NH. We called on 4/16/2022 to let the Ashleys know that the middle of the bed is a pot hole. Ashleys sent a technician to measure. Ashleys said bed is fine We can not sleep in this bed. There is a ten year warranty! We need your help for a replacement, The store is sending me in circles! $2,099 dollars is a lot of money for a defective bed that we can't sleep in. We have called Ashleys customer service 100 times.
Please help with the defective bed replacement. Stearns and Foster is a trusted brand and that is why we chose the the brand.

Sterns and Foster Mattress
Bought a Lux Estate and it sank in the middle after two months, really a month and they exchanged from medium pillow top to a firm Lux Estate under my 120 day comfort clause and now after a month this one is sinking in the middle also. I bought the $l00 mattress pad cause I had too, a pillow that was over $100 and the frame was $1k and mattress was 3K. Plus delivery of $100 bucks twice to exchange it. I think this is outrageous. I want to get a lawsuit started on Stern's and Foster. This is highway robbery for junk. I could buy three mattress for 1K and Macy's and it would be a better night's rest.
Desired outcome: Refund for mattress I will keep foundation for another mattress brand. You would think a $3K mattress would last a lifetime.
No Receipt No Product
The poorest customer service I ever experienced. The representatives refuse to send a physical receipt for a $3200 purchase made over the phone. Yes both of these inept representatives, so young, are not able to print out receipts and mail them to customers who don't have internet. So my poor elderly mom waited with no receipt in hand for the bed mattress to arrive. Six weeks turns into seven, then eight. Imagine purchasing an expensive item over the phone and request to have a receipt mailed. Imagine hearing the representatives state they can't mail a receipt only email. Imagine reminding them that email is not an option. Imagine the representative keep pushing for an email. No out of box thinkers available at Stearns and Foster to print and mail a receipt and a way to find the status of mattress order placed over 1.5 months ago. Why is Stearns and Foster so unaccommodating? Why couldn't someone help my elderly mother by providing her the assistance she requested?

My parents just bought a mattress from Matthew's Mattress. My mom is in pain from sleeping on it. They have waited to see if it would get better., but it got worse. She tried to return it, and they are giving her the run around. She was crying on the phone. Your store promises a refund if it doesn't work out. It didn't. It was delivered May 18th. She even bought a mattress pad from you to make sure it was comfortable.
She bought it in Roseville CA. She is too old to deal with this. Her head, neck, and back are in pain, so now she can't sleep, She's 83 years old. She needs to sleep.

Sterns and Foster Mattress and Box Springs
My husband and I had a Stern's and Foster Mattress for 20 years. When we decided to replace it, we didn't hesitate to buy a Stern's and Foster Mattress. We bought the top of the line mattress and box springs for our four poster bed. We purchased, I believe, the Hepburn Queen Mattress and box springs in March of 2021. Since then, the box springs has had "strings" hanging down from the bottom and they almost or do touch the floor. I can't believe that a mattress and box springs that was so expensive should be shredding the way it is. In addition, it seems that the mattress sags. We initially added more slats to the four poster bed when we realized that the weight of the the mattress was so heavy, so support from the bottom is not the issue. I'm just so disappointed in this mattress and box springs. I have to vacuum under the bed every day because of these hanging strings.
Stearns and Foster Rockwell Ultra Firm Queen Mattress
Mattress and matching box springs purchased from Macy's in Fort Worth, Tx 8/28/22, delivered four days later. So excited to get the new mattress! Now, not quite 2 months later I want to cry with frustration. Macy's is asking for $450 to replace the mattress that is defective. We have had a 'mattress tech' out to evaluate the mattress and he deemed it within the sagging guidelines set by Stearns and Foster. Measured while no one was on the bed, just sagged while empty, imagine what it's doing when we crawl in for a good night's sleep! Combined our weight doesn't exceed 300 pounds, so the mattress isn't straining under the pressure of excessive weight. I have read the complaints and know this is a problem with the mattresses sold, yet it is being denied. All I'm asking is for the defective mattress to be replaced with a mattress that doesn't insist I either sleep on my stomach or back, and will allow me to sleep on my side without rolling into the crevice.

The mattress has not been received. Multiple calls & emails sent to resolve this mattress purchased F19217708249, ordered 8/12/22 & payment of 3500 deducted from credit card. Originally told after the 4th call that it would be received by 9-1-22. Reship order SO640_141162. Expedited complaint numbers: 460373,473651, I have been told the mattress is has left the factory, the deliver service is based out of Florida, the delivery service cannot find it, call in three days and we will have an update, "i think we has the wrong address" and a multiple other excuses. Multiple calls later there is no resolution and no plan to deliver the mattress.
Lux estate cassatt luxury plush
I purchased this mattress on 07/17/20 from Nebraska Furniture Mart for $2,499.00 + tax. I am a 155 lb. female and the only one who sleeps on this mattress. It has sags, dips, and craters in the areas it is supposed to support, like my hips, neck, shoulders, and upper back. I wake every morning with all-over pain, and it takes a while to get moving. I am in very good physical health, so that's not the issue. The mattress has been on a metal base/frame since day one. No stains, tears, or any type of abuse.
PLEASE HELP ME as I cannot afford to buy another one.

Stearns & foster rockwell mattress
Purchased a new Sterns & Foster Rockwell Mattress from P. C Richards on 8/29/19. Worst mattress ever! I paid almost $3000.00 for it and it sags so bad on both sides. They have been out twice and said it does not meet the sagging requirement. Are you kidding! I have not had a good night sleep since I have had this thing. I also wonder if the adjustable base they sold me is damaging the mattress and has to do with it sagging and making the mattress that way?
Either way this mattress is horrible.

What's with Stearns and Foster, they have a free pillow promo if you buy a mattress and foundation but when you buy the king size bed the pillows are for a twin size. What's with this, if you buy a king size bed you should get the proper pillows. We are going to have to rethink about the Stearns and Foster promotions in the future. I had purchased SF Luxury #2 European Pillow top mattress and adjustable base from JCP couple years ago. When I was a Home Field Leader for the Company. I trained for 30 locations and know every detail about this mattress and others. (Trained with reps and facilitated training meetings for managers and employees to sell your product.
After I purchased it sunk on both sides. I weigh 150 lbs. I also bought Sonya Leigh for spare room and never used. last fall I decided I could not sleep on sunken bed so I used Sonya Leigh. It sunk in 4 weeks on both sides with middle of bed up high. So I returned and got another, put in spare room again. Now I have been waiting for replacement of Luxury #2 European Pillow top so I again used new mattress while waiting and in 5 weeks completely sunk on both sides.
I had originally purchased Stearns and Foster in 2003, and it was reversible, bought most expensive one made. I had nine years, never sank on either side. Thus I loved the brand. Sold to every customer while at JCP and really pushed with managers and sales associates.
Sadly I cannot believe these now sink in 5 weeks time so much so you do not roll out of the hole. Paying thousands for something that has serious issues. No I have not even used the adjustable base. So in one year time 4 mattresses with JCP. When I spoke with a rep from stearns and foster a year ago, she said I had to go through JCP. So I did. Now after $200 protection plans and 4 sets of mattresses I feel they eed to do something to make this right. I have read every complaint on line all say they will do nothing. That will not work for me. And I am not going to play with measurements. Already accrued over $800 in chiropractic charges, not to mention rediculous bad deliveries on the part of JCP where 3 sets of mattresses were damaged during delivery.
I refuse to sleep on today's delivery as I know it will do the same as the prior 4-5 weeks. I have been a District Manager for 30 years. I have tracked all steps of this journey. A company who would not do right after 4 mattress issues of the same thing will be a issue in itself.
Do not refer me back to JCP. Quality issue is not their issue. And 4 sets of mattresses in a years time are enough.
Bought a S&f mattress @JCP on November 20 with a due date to arrive on Dec 18. Canceled delivery 4 times now. Heard every excuse possible. Now due date on Jan 2 possibly. I paid $2257.52 . I wish I read these complaints but like you I had a TRUE S&F from 20 plus years ago when it was made by Stearns & Foster. This was before the Sealy buy out and well before the Tempur-Pedic buy out. I rotated it on schedule and it treated us great. So now it's time for a new mattress and I buy the best S&F have to offer, the King Stearns & Foster Reserve No. 2 Luxury Firm Euro Pillow Top Mattress, paid almost 6 grand and it is GARBAGE! We've had it for just 2 months and it is HORRIBLE! We are 195lb male and 115lb female and it is SAGGING. I wake up in more pain then I go to be with! On hold right now to replace it with another brand as I purchased through US Mattress and i'm within their 120 sleep night guarantee...
Deep indentations (sinkholes) from day one wherever one sits or lays.
Purchased a king mattress one yr ago and from the day delivered it has sunk in wherever one sits or lays. Called the first business day to complain and tech was sent to "measure". Was only 3/4" impression! DAY ONE!
One yr later ONLY 1" which FEELS LIKE ONE FOOT. We have to pull ourselves out of the bed and back issues have started.
If corporate had to sleep on this (and MANY OTHERS LIKE IT), they would
definitely resolve this issue.
We only want a good mattress since we paid a lot of money for it. Would want a replacement, but want to sit on it before accepting it. Heard too many others go through this more than once. Store mattress was very different.
Customer service is not good at all.
Voided Warranty
I purchased a Stearns and Foster Mattress in 2012. the mattress was $2179. I thought that the quality of the bed would be better, since it was a more expensive mattress. Within a year, one side of the bed was collapsed. I let two years pass and the side of the bed got worse. I was purchasing another Stearns and Foster and told the salesperson about my existing Stearns & Foster mattress. She explained that they had a problem in 2012 with the sides of their mattresses collapsing and that I should file a warranty claim with them. So I did. I just found out this week, that my claim was denied because there is a stain on the mattress and that voids the warranty. A 25 year warranty is voided for a stain on the mattress! I spill a drink in bed one night and poof, the warranty is voided. Regardless of a known problem with the construction of the mattress.
Beware, Sealy, the owner of Stearns & Foster. Sealy, icomfort and Tempurpedic, will void your warranty if the mattress is stained! Ashley Furniture stated that they would be able to help me out if I bought an Ashley Product but they cannot help me with a non-ashley product. AMAZING. Please know that if you buy a mattress and spill something on it, that night, your warranty is voided, regardless of the workmanship.
Return policy
I purchased a mattress and Box springs totally $1765.77 on 9-29-14. Went back the day after delivery of mattress and was given an exchange as it was like sleeping on a ROCK. Also was told that it took 6+ wks. to break the mattress in. That is unheard of of. I assume that is why the manager gave me the exchange, since that was not revealed to me at time of purchase. The 2nd one is way to soft. I was told, by the manager, it would not get any softer but in less than 2 mos., I sink in the bed. I weigh 115 lbs. I had no choice but to exchange for a mattress meeting the same price bcuz after buying it, I read that there were no returns of ANY kind w/beds. I have been diagnosed w/severe medical problems (hips) and the right thing is to return said bed as it is very detrimental for my body. I was lied to and in no way did I know there was no return policy on beds. I would not have bought a bed that I could not return, if after less thn 2mos, I can't sleep on it w/o suffering grave consequences to my body. Not only is this unfair but to charge for delivery of $80.00 on a &1700.00+ purchase is unheard of. I have gone back and talked to the manager and he said he could not help me in any way. It should be posted that there are no returns on beds. No other companies that I have dealt with, have this policy. As long as the bed is not stained and or damaged in any way, you have at least 60 days to return a bed. This is unjust as they do not make the customer aware of that fact prior to buying a bed. I would of returned it the 1rst time if I had that option.

body indentations
We purchased a Stearns and Foster "Tanya" king set, flat top, from Value City and had it delivered in December, 2012. Within two weeks, body indentations were apparent. I flipped the mattress end for end and hoped for an equalization of wear. Instead it just worsened over the next two months. It became difficult to move on the mattress at night due to sinking into the cavity. Value City sent a technician to measure the depression. The inch and a half and two inch "holes" qualified us for a trade in. We're going to try a Temperpedic memory foam bed and hope for more durability. We commend Value City for standing behind their products, but we do question what has happened to mattress quality. Our old mattress never sagged even after 23 years of use!

Haverty's is a very nice store. We have purchased many pieces of furniture and have open credit with them. My complaint is about the quality of Stern & Foster matresses.
We have purchased 2 mo ago one in Macys, a King S&F matress plush. After 3 days sleeping on it we have to call Macys and they oferred to send an inspector to evaluate the origen of our complaint. The inspector conclusion was that because the sinking didn't reach the 5" the matress is not considerated, under the store guidelines, defective. Perhaps the matress was not firm Plush as we ordered. It was a Plush!
Macys offered exchange the matress but, since the salesman was interrupted several times by his co-worker and his co-worker took the phone from the desk when were trying to complete the transaction, we end up standing up using another phone to activate the new card. Then when we got back to the desk his co-worker already was sitting in there and using the computer & phone! After 3 hour in the store we couldn't wait any more for the other salesman to finish what he started on the desk we supossed to finish the transaction, we left after our salesman told us he will complete the transaction and mail the receipt next day! He didn't disclosed their return policy at any time and we were so tired already that we forgot to ask!
We decided we don't want to goback to Macys and dispute the charges. Which apparently we have not been charged as of yet.
After this experience we decided to go go back next week to Haverty's where we know they are very helpfull. Effetively we had a great expereince with the salesman and after a great expereince trying matresses we end up again with S&F ! It has been only a month and we have turned our matress clock wise 2 times because the same reason:We sink in the matress, body print and uneven look on the matress. We each end up sleeping a the edge of the bed or trying to take the midle to obtai relief. Talk to Haverty's and they will send an inspector to evaluate again ! :(

When it comes to mattresses these days, name brand or not, they are pretty much all the same (as you have found out). The box frames are just plain flimsy and so, in a best case scenario mattresses are throw away after 3 or 4 years. So in the future, just stick to cheap. You'll get the same mattress. Most importantly, make sure your bed frame has good central support (lots of strong slats and/or a leg in the middle as some frames have) because they all require this these days or the whole thing just sags - even the name brand ones. I've already been through this and I weigh only about 150 pounds. A delivery guy explained this to me. I think he was right.
