bad service
on 11/23/2017 at 11:08 pm i visited steak n shake 616 and ordered a western burger made into a triple with no fried onions and the waitress put triple chsburger/ff add bacon no amer chs-2 s1 add pepper jack add fried onions.she brought it to me and i sent it back because it had onions on it, i told her i wanted a fresh one made and she brought me another one with no bbq sauce on it, i sent it back and then when i went to pay i asked for my bill to be cheaper because of what i went through and the manager gave me a small discout which i felt it wasnt good enough due to the wait and everything i had to go through to get this taken care of.
drive thru ordering
I've never seen a place operate the way these employees operate during midnight hours. I was there on 11/24/17..around 3am. This is now the 3rd time this same location has done this!
They make you wait by the order screen until you leave. Every time you try to make your order, they tell you to hold on. So I wait 5 exactly minutes and finally I said "hello" can I order now? They will continue to say the same thing till you drive off. How the hell can you have such rude and ghetto people handle customers food?!
If you try to talk and make your order, They will keep telling you to hold on please. Crazy part is, there is not one person in the drive thru line or in the store! So what's the damn issue? This is the 3rd time they done this in the past week. They do it to almost every customer that's comes at midnight. After last night, I had to file a complaint! Everyone at the midnight shift at the Steak ân Shake needs to be fired!
After eating steak and shake and going there for almost 10 years now. I will never go back to a drive thru or walk in to a Steak ân Shake Franchise. I don't even care if the problem is fixed. This is something I've never experienced in my life. Something I don't want to deal with again.
Seems like steak and shake hires employees that don't even graduate through middle school. After waiting almost 15 minutes for someone to finally say something. I told them how I feel and also told the staff I'm filing a complaint about this. They all came outside trying to fight me while I was in my car! What kind of [censor] place is this? This just tells me how unprofessional and terrible Steak ân Shake is as a company. Not like I care anymore honestly. Steak and shake will never see my $$ after this incident. Couldn't even pay me to eat there! That's how disgusted I am with this whole situation!

We arrived at that location 11:01am this morning wanting breakfast. Young fellow at door asked a woman at the grill & she said no. It was past 11. There were 3 tables occupied so definitely not swamped. We are now at Perkins & just finished breakfast. We were very disappointed that your personnel would allow customers walk out on such a small time frame. We visit this location often, but given the way we were treated, there are alot more restaurant options available in our area, so will rethink this.
Many restaurants have set hours for breakfast. No matter how little time has passed, if it is passed breakfast hours then the breakfast is over. It is rude for you to come in after the fact and expect to have rules changed just for you. I'm sure they have people come in almost every day after breakfast hours that wish they would have been able to get breakfast, and it would certainly not be fair to those other customers for an exception to be made for you.

An employee at 9150 N Main St, Dayton, OH 45415 has been cyberbullying someone online and making some very concerning posts. This employee's name is Hunter Hincks. This behavior is harmful and unacceptable. The posts began on Wednesday and have continued to become more aggressive. Something must be done about this. I will attach screen shots of the posts.

I went through the drive through and the woman asked me to wait while her computer came back up. I waited for at least 10 minutes. She came back and asked to take my order. So I start to order the first of my 5 milkshakes and she tells me we are not making shakes tonight. Why did she not tell me that initially or have a sign posted on the drive thru
the poor food delivery at fort wayne location
This evening we arrived at our local steak n shake around 12:30 am understandable that they were busy being after thanksgiving sales night. We chose to sit at the bar because they were only two of us to help free up and table for them. That allowed is to watch food being prepared. Well we had a very simple ordered of two cheese toasties with bacon. We sit for almost 50 minutes watching them make food and finally we saw them make two cheese toasties. The was a very large man placed those in the microwave above the grill to melt the cheese. We watched as the timer went off and the little man cooking then burgers went over popped the door and shut it back and we started to watch another 15 minutes went by and we heard the big man say oh yea they are in the microwave. They took out the toasties sit them in the counter for another 5 minutes when the waitress brought them over to us and sit them down. I proceed to tell her we watch them sitnfor 15 minutes and she said no they just came off the grill. We stood up and walked out. I plan on making sure everyone know years about this poor food prep and service.
This guy just goes around and complains about everybody's input and insults them...he truly is a [censor] with nothing better to do.

On Nov. 23, 2017 at 10:51 PM (Thanksgiving Night/Black Thursday shopping) my daughter and I went to the counter and waited probably 7 minutes or so for someone to acknowledge us and take our order. This only happened after I had told the cashier we had not yet been waited on.
My daughter placed her order, then I place mine. We paid separately. It took 30 minutes to get three shakes, but that is only a small part of our experience.
We watched as employees waited for the orders to come on the screen or to the window while another employee was filling condiments, sweeping, and mopping the waitresses' workstation. (The mopping thing was ridiculous). I feel it was way to busy for this to be done as the girls were only going to continue to attempt to walk across the floor.
Having worked fast food myself, I believe the staff needed to be better trained on how to handle the potential business expected for this massive shopping/holiday weekend.
cleanliness of restrooms
I usually go to steak and shake at least two times a month but i went to this location because i was in the area. It was my first time. I sat down and ordered my food then went to wash my hands but the restroom was so dirty I did not want to eat there. Jist made me think how clean the employees hands are or even if they clean their starions properly. The toilets and sinks look like they have not been scrub in a long time and there was lack of soap and toilet paper. I ended up just telling them i no longer wanted my food. Please see this is taken care of. I was really disappointed with this location.
Did you report the restroom conditions to them? They can't fix what they don't know about.

Nov 18th about 700pm. Where do I begin. I grew up in St louis with Steaknshake. What we went thru a few days ago was so absurd. First every order was wrong twice. Shakes had almost no icecream(intentional, throughout entire store, not just ours) Food served cold, I asked for the food that was ready and was told I could not have it until everything was ready. The first round of burgers were sitting about 20 minutes waiting for a salad. The manager could not care less, hardly any customers but it was almost a 90 minute ordeal. Eve y order wrong litterly no ice cream in shakes, then when we paid( it should have been free) the cashier just walks away halfway thru the transaction to talk to a friend. I love steaknshake, alot of great memories growing up. This was the most absurd restaurant encounter in my life. Cost $70, 90 minutes, manager is probably getting better food costs down by greatly shorting every shake. What else is she doing. It is intentional. On November 21 at 4:30 pm my family and i went thru the drive thru to eat on our way home from a 3 day stay at the university of ky hospital. The reason we picked this location is because we usually always stop here with our cross country and track teams when we travel and usually no complaints. This time we were very shocked at the service we were given and the excuses along with the answers that tried to make us sound stupid. We were looking right at the menu and ordered a kids meal when we said coke for the drink we were told a drink doesnt come with kids meal..we said are you sure she always gets a drink and the aign here says soft drink or apple juice..no reaponse. So we continued with our order. Before we pulled up i took a picture of the menu sign just to show the lady we wasnt crazy. When we pulled up to the window we explained this is why we ask and showed her the picture her response well i dont know why it says that, its never said that before but i will give you a drink. Its funny because the many times before weve always gotton a drink.. We asked for ketchup and mustard we got the ketchup and no mustard. Kids being kids decided wanted a milkshake so we pulled around front and walked in to get the mustard which we ended up just squirting some on a napkin due to the time it was taking that no one wanted to respond to our request.they really wasnt happy to give the fries they forgot with the 3 shooters. Asked about the happy hour milk shake.. response ummm happy hour is over..really the sign out front says otherwise was our thought. We decided it was best to just take our fries, mustard on our napkin and just forget spending extra for milkshake and continue on our 2 hour trip home. Normally i wouldnt complain but as i said we bring our teams there, we eat there on family trips, we even stop there after we transport people in the ambulance to lexington and stop on our way back thru.We were just so shocked i guess and dont want it to turn into other places since we enjoy it so much. Flat and annoyed I said coke then she asked anything else in same tone I said #5please an again drink Dr Pepper .and she repeated the the order an loud flat annoyed tone said pull thru. To whom it may concern. We went to steak and shake on Cassopolis Sreet Elkhart on Sunday Nov.19th at 11:40am. No other cars were in line. We got a soda with a hole in the cup. Waited 14 minutes for cold fries and no napkins ECT. Bad service. We were headed to the toll road for a trip or i would of returned to file a complaint. They should think about that when packing the orders. To go means you need napkins! Suella Vandygriff

Saturday Nov 18 my husband I went to the Alabaster AL Steak N Shake. We waited 10 minutes at the podium to be seated, we waited another 10 minutes at the table and we were never approached for our order. We ended up leaving at the 15 minute mark sitting at the table. The sad part is the location was not busy and none of the patrons were really being paid attention to. We like to go to Steak n Shake but sadly the service is declining with each visit. I'm not sure we'll return if the service continues to decline this way.

Today After waiting for 5 minutes to order. I ordered a burger with mayo only and Peppermint Shake. I waited in line for 15-18 minutes and finally got to the window- I will also add that there were 3 cars in front of me. When i get to the window the cashier goes to give me a white chocolate milkshake instea. Not what I ordered and then tells me they are out of Peppeemint mix. When asked why she didn't say anything she said she thought I said white chocolate. So the special order we hear and a basic order we don't. Service sucks always.
It just sounds like a simple mistake. You should try and be more understanding.

We went to the Steak-N-Shake#03 Sunrise FL for the first time and and we ordered takeout the cashier was very unpolite and had an attitude. Then they made us wait 25 minutes for our meal and we werent the only ones who was upset, other people too. Im from Puerto Rico and me and my family told each other that we wont come back to this location again and we would tell other people not to come as well it was awful. I came here few years ago and i enjoyed it and i brought my family to enjoy it too but we all left with an awful experience.

Hi, I visited the Steak n Shake in Austell, Ga on the East West Connector on Sunday November 18, 2017. I ordered the Bacon Steakburger meal and a child size milkshake. My total added up to be more than I had paid at my previous visits when ordering the same thing. I asked the lady attending the window if the total was correct and she said yes but I will get the manager if you would like. I told her no need I will pay the total. The manager overheard her and came to the window and asked me what the problem was. I explained to her and she said you must have been getting the shake at 1/2 price. I told her that I did not visit the store during happy hour so that wasn't the case. She said "well this is the total and I don't make the prices, honey!" And walked away before I could say anything. I did not appreciate her condescending and demeaning tone, it was very disrespectful! The attendant at the window said "that was rude, I apologize". To think this is the person you have representing your store as the leader. I will not go back to the store again. I would rather keep my money or spend it at an establishment that treats you as though they want you to come back.

we waited 35 minutes for our food, our orders were messed up and the shakes we ordered sat so long they were melted. The mustard and A1 sauce bottles had dried food all over them and look like they have not been cleaned in a long time

First we waited for 15min before we were seated. Then 15 before we saw a waitress. The "manager" was our waitress and constantly came asking what we want and then it took her a good 10-15 min to get it. Other waitresses came asking to help us then the manager was upset with them. The bills were messed up too and some other guy ended up fixing it for us. We spent approximately 2hrs there. I'd say the service and whole atmosphere was just crappy. My personal opinion, if the manager would have stepped up and would have coached and organized the staff it would have been great! The workers really seemed like they had good potential if only they had been managed properly!

I went to a Steak 'n Shake last night and am extremely dissatisfied. I waiting in the drive thru for about thirty minutes, and the service was terrible. The employees were rude and took their time completing my order. I only got two things, making their delay unacceptable. When we finally did get our food, it was poorly wrapped, making a mess in the bag. Unfortunately, we were already home when we realized we didn't even get what we ordered. I am extremely upset with the service and quality of the food.

My wife an I eat steaknshake 2+ a week. We feel you should know what goes on. We NEVER get our shakes/drinks until our food comes, then we don't want it.there I s a black server, heavy set that would leave our table completely a mess.She didn't remove plates glass, trash.we saw our food under the heat lamp for 20 minutes.
