On February 21,2022 I filed my tax return and my local Walmart store. today is August 22,2022 and still no tax return. I was charged 500.00 dollars plus 30 dollar worry free guarantee. Come to find out the tax preparer put my 2019 W2 on this year's taxes. I've called Jackson Hewitt several times and can never get an answer. I'm livid. now I'm homeless living out of motels living from pay check to pay check I was counting on my refund to get ahead on bills.

I filed my 2020 tax return at Wal-Mart. I am 79 years old and was charged $284 for my return. It was done wrong because the tax person didn't use the right form, never included what I paid in taxes on my W2.

I contacted Jackson Hewitt and filed an amended return. I did not have to pay taxes I needed a refund. When I had the amended return done, I requested a refund since I was overcharged preparation. I was told we don't do that. I am on a fixed income and the prepared should have used 1040-SR. I am out the money. I live in an over 55 community. I have notified everyone do not go to Jackson Hewitt. It was their mistake, why am I not reimbursed?

I dropped my tax paperwork with my tax preparer on April 9th, 2022. Two days later, she was hurt and no one from the office called or gave me the opportunity to seek another preparer. Every day leading up to and after the dead line I called, only to be told I would get a call back. I reached out to the corporate office, who also dragged their feet up until May 18 when the office manager from another location informed me that he had my W2 but could not find my other paperwork. He proceeded to complete the taxes and said that I owe and that I would need to contact IRS to make payment arrangements on top of paying the penalties. Then he proceeds to tell me that I him $385.00. June 3rd called the corporate and was met by a nasty tone customer service rep. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was denied.

I have gone to jackson Hewitt for Uber 4 years unfortunately my lady committed sucide and I got stuck with Michele in auburn wa, I filed my taxes way before tax filing started. I brought everything like every year before and not only have I still not gotten a refund is because Michele has put in not only wrong amounts but the tax id for my employers do not match, I have called several times and left messages before they closed their doors so I can get my taxx information. That she filed since I did it receive my tact papers like I always do every year because of broken printer she says , so now it June and still not refund I get a refund every year but I can not get anyone to fixed this , I paid a lot of money to have her screw up so much and why did I pay for the liability if I don’t even know what that does ,

I would like someone to call me or get to the bottom of this for it has caused so much financial strain since I depended on my refund

I was told my return was all set, I followed the instructions given to me then three days later I get a call telling me I hasd to pay 178.00, after they told me it was done and sent in on time last day, NOW? Im not filed, late, and being blackmailed for 178.00 instead of it being taken out of my return which is now late, im going to blast this on twitter

they quoted me $118 to complete my simple taxes, the exact service i received last year that i paid $113, after 15 minutes they charged me $270. This is unacceptable to charge me $150 more without discussing with me the reason. I have called there run around customer service (over 10 call) and received no answers or refund of the difference. I feel like they false advertised for me to get there and then charged me more than double of what they quoted me. This was a rip off and very unprofessional of a company to do to me or others.

Made an appointment online for my son to do his taxes at Walmart location in Cumming GA. He showed up at the scheduled date/time and nobody was there to help him. I called the local office and they said they haven’t had a worker at that location in over a week. And they didn’t notify anyone of the cancellation. So I won’t ever allow them to do my taxes b/c I don’t trust their work ethics.

I've never had any tax service take fees from my state refund.

Fees have always been taken from the Federal refund.

I had been using TurboTax for 8 years until turbo tax cancelled my card and no resolution was reached.

So until this year as I felt too many changes had occurred and I didn't trust TurboTax. I choose JH but never again. They are snakes.

Was told I had to make an appointment which I did. I came in at 12:40 my appointment was at 100pm. Waited until 1:45! She was doing his taxes like he was Thurston Howell III and she was his personal accountant!. There is sign there walk ins welcome. Yet I had to make an appointment and stand there till 300pm. Never again I'll go to H&R Block!

I went had filed on 2-21-22 got told by the Great Falls Mt office that a check would be mailed to my house within 7 days did not come I called the office here in Great Falls got a run around and lied to said the office had the check and went to get it and then got told it's not there nothing they can do so I'm or almost 2000 dollers I'll never use Jackson Hewitt ever again then I tried to talk to a supervisor on the the 800 number got hung up on service sucks

Jackson Hewitt advertised on their website 59.00- no more than 179.00 for federal return at Walmart stores. which we were charged 179.00 last year. this year they charged us 448.00 after Leading us to believe we were paying 179.00

we were not provided with a itemized page of fees nor were we provided with our copy of the federal income tax forum with the amount of our return on it. when I call their offices all I get is the run around, no managers available to help me at all! I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPNAY AGAIN AND I SUGGEST NO ONE ELSE SHOULD EITHER! Also the person who did our taxes put my DLN in wrong for state return Now that has been delayed, we only got back 246.00 from federal after fees! I'm afraid to see what we will have on our state after fees I talked to our tax preparer and she did not even apologize. I got my taxes done with JH 2/2/2022. I always do my taxes myself but I needed a little help this year because of all the new child tax laws. To say I am unhappy with JH is an understatement! I had an appointment at the Fayette, AL location. No one showed up nor was I called about the cancellation. I called the 800 number and was told if I went to the Winfield, AL location, I would receive a small discount. Keep in mind this is over an hour from my home! I go to Winfield and the lady wasn't very knowledgeable and she was working by herself. I was later told I was the 3rd person she had worked on! When asked how much it would be to get them done she kept avoiding my question, never telling me even a guesstimate! Upon leaving she still had not told me my total! While at the location, the lady never explained anything to me, never let me look over my paperwork, I asked many questions all to be avoided, she just said “sign here and here”... she kept making mistakes and had to call someone to go into her computer to fix things she messed up. I requested a direct deposit.

Well, didn't get that! When I got home and looked over everything she had me receiving a check! The part I am most upset about is the amount I paid JH to do these taxes! I didn’t file long form nor do I own a business. This was just a regular filing. I paid $546.95, this is after the small discount I received for being cancelled and not called and having to drive over an hour from my home to get them done! I am a Widow. I lost my husband 3 years ago and I am a single mama too. Spending this much money to get my taxes done is horrible! I could use that $500+ to help with my son! If the lady had told me how much they would be, I would have never gotten them done there but she NEVER SAID ANYTHING! I really hated to get on this site and complain. I called one of the locations in Birmingham, AL and the lady there was very unfriendly and didn't help at all. Please can something be done about this?

Nancy at the Hackensack NJ office made a mistake on our 2019 taxes, she forgot to include income on the return. so instead of getting a refund of 1,227.00, we owed the IRS over 6,000.00. We paid the taxes owed, JH paid the 197.00 interest. Nancy sent letter to IRS to try to get them to waive the failure to file penalty of 277.00 and the substantial tax understatement penalty of 1,354.00. The IRS wants there money
JH should pay the additional 1631.00 to the IRS as the made the error on my 2019 tax return. I supplied all the information.

I filed my taxes with your company this past year 2020 and I will never file with your company again. I filed on feb.9 and still have not received my refund and it is almost time to file 2021. The tax lady that prepared my taxes spelled my name wrong and I am know having to verify my identy and having trouble doing so... I have only recieved one of my child tax credit payments as well. Due to this issue I have been in such hardship. I have lost my home and my car. Way to take care of your customers... This is the worst tax company ever... I wouldn't recommend you to the devil...

Their representative made a mistake on our taxes. He did not listen to the fact that we did not get the second stimulus check only, we got the first and last, but he put in for all 3 even though he was told multiple times.
He did not even give us a copy of the form to review once completed, and did not explain anything he was doing. They refused to stand by their guarantee, and did nothing. Do not trust these people with your taxes!

Kim Franks at Walmart location in Westworth did my 2020 taxes March 12, 2021 filing getting IRS in response received online.Last week, IRS sent me only rebate JH took out fee saying that I know I'm not alone in saying I understand the problem of taxes being delayed but what I received left me in shock because I'm questioning WHERE is the $1, 511.05 due me?

I am a Jackson Hewitt customer. My 1040-SR was not included in tax prep package. I don't have a cell phone which is needed to created a JH online account. I called [protected] for help; they said I needed a cell phone to get the online paperwork. I called the Jacksonville office [protected] and the lady hung up on me after I explained I needed my 1040-SR.

She said I needed to go to Jacksonville to get the form, driving 300 miles, a 5 hour trip, a day's effort to get a form they neglected to put in my folder.

Filed my taxes end of january they sent to irs on 2/12/21 month later received letter from irs they needed my w2's and 401 k withdraw w2 to prove what I was getting back was right called gun barrel city office they told me to bring in letter I did they made copy of everthing then I got a phone call from district office saying that they could not read the email that gun barrel office sent them and that I had to fax everthing to irs myself was charged close to 300 hundred dollars for preparation and still waiting for refund it's been 9 weeks since I sent fax to ir

I was misled and very disappointed in Jackson Hewitt's personnel and tax preparation in Conway, Arkansas. I called the Jaskson Hewitt office and was given an appointment to meet with someone named Bud on March 3, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the WalMart Store on Hwy 65 in Conway. Upon arriving at my appointment, Bud was not there and a person named Phillip took my information. Phillip was nice but not professional or knowledgeable. I filled out the Jackson Hewitt's personal information form, gave Phillip my tax information, and was told that a lady named Rey (?) would be doing my taxes and she would get back with me. I asked Phillip the dollar charge for the service. He said it would be a "little over a hundred dollars", his exact words. I have never met Rey. Notice, I have never met Bud or Rey personally and was only given the short version of their names.

I told Philip I had a medical emergency in Fort Smith, Arkansas but would contact their office when I returned on March 12th or there after. I called Jackson Hewitt's on March 15th and was connected to Jackson Hewitt's answering service. A person named Keisha (unprofessional) directed me to Patty, the fourth name with Jackson Hewitt. I made an appointment to meet with Patty at the Walmart Store on Hwy. at 1p.m. I met with Patty but she also was not knowledgeable of tax filing and had problems logging into her computer plus explaining the computations once she logged in. I asked Patty if I could meet with someone else to get a clear understanding of the figures on my tax return filing. She called the office and wrote on my folder that I would meet with Mr. Bud of Ms. Tina on March 22, 2021 at 1 p.m..

Since I had problems with getting correct information, I called the Jackson Hewitt office at 11 a.m. on March 22nd to confirm my appointment with the representative. Debra, a Jackson Hewitt Representative at the Oak Street facility answered the telephone and told me Tina would not be in until 2 p.m.. I told her my appointment was at 1 p.m. and I called early because of the misinformation I had been receiving. Debra apologized and told me to come in at 2 p.m. to the office on Oak Street.

I met with Tina and voiced my concerns. She located my information on the computer and explained to me the tax preparation. She then told me the total price for filing a short tax return and a state tax return. I had told Philip that I only needed the Federal Tax returned filed. The reason was: I did not receive my last two stimulus checks. This was my main purpose of going to Jackson Hewitt. For the last two years I went to the United Way for my taxes and in 2020 they did not put all information on my tax return related to interest received. So the 2020 return was done over.

Tina quoted the Jackson Hewitt price for filing the Federal and State Taxes for me. It was a shock because these prices had not been quoted by a Jackson Hewitt representative before. I am a widow and the price was shocking. I chose at this point, per Tina's instructions, to only have the federal tax filed and not the state tax. Tina never informed me that I could refuse the federal tax filing Tina gave me a senior discount but the final price was $246.00 for filing the short form of the federal tax.

I have given a lot of information because of my experience with the Conway Jackson Hewitt offices. I tried to get answers from the corporate office and the Little Rock, Arkansas office to no avail. I called the corporate office in Sarasota, Florida, spoke to Melinda, and was directed to call William in Little Rock, Arkansas. I was told by Melinda that William was the manager for the Arkansas area. I called [protected] and was told William was not the area manager. I spoke to Gina and she informed me that she was the manager at the Little Rock location. However, the main office is in Hot Springs, Arkansas and the person I need to contact was Mary Harris.

I have experienced the deaths of loved ones since 2017 and the constant misinformation and unprofessionalism from the Jackson Hewitt office is overwhelming. I am familiar with income tax filing but have never experienced the type of service I have received from Jackson Hewitt in filing only one tax return. The price was unbelievable and it seemed hidden until the final filing. The personnel is kind but not knowledgeable in tax filing. I have reached out again to Tina on March 23rd before I called your corporate office, but she has not returned my call.

The result I would like is some deduction in my payment because I was never told by three people I personally talked to in Conway, Arkansas the correct price of filing. I was also not given an opportunity to refuse to have my tax filed. I felt obligated to pay.
