Sad company
Had an appointment Thursday at 400. Took off work to go home and they canceled at 300 rescheduled for Sunday at 200 and they canceled at 300. If I do this to them I forfeit my service charge. They do it to me twice and I get paid 10% and 5% off. If I were to cancel the appointment after being assigned a tech it was $25. $50 within 24 hours and the full appointment fee if the same day. So yes I think they charge me for any change yet provide a bare minimum discount when they no show me. The company has no respect for potential customers and our time. Go elsewhere for service.
Recommendation: Go elsewhere

I recently purchased a new laptop and even though I
I recently purchased a new laptop and even though I am comfortable with computers, there were a few applications I wanted but was unfamiliar. I saw that there was an inexpensive service that would come to my house so I made an appointment online which was quickly confirmed. My tech, Quintin, arrived on time ready to go to work. Quintin went step-by-step explaining what he was doing and why. I really appreciated his patience while answering my questions and by the time he left at the end of an hour I felt fully confident. I will be calling Hello Tech again soon to update my desktop. To not have to spend frustrating hours setting up my laptop by trial and error was worth every penny and I could not be more satisfied.
Brad, the tech who came to my home, for my new Dell
Brad, the tech who came to my home, for my new Dell laptop professional installation, which was offered through Amazon at the time of my purchase, was both extremely courteous and very helpful. He even happened to notice that our new tv hadn't been fully set up properly, (the direct tv tech had left two large black spaces on either side of the picture) Brad said he, the direct tv tech, hadn't bothered to make the picture whole screen. I also asked him for his recommendation for a couple of software programs and Brad helps immensely in assisting me with my choices. I would definitely purchase this professional electronic installation again in the future. Brad is a tremendous asset to your company.
Sincerely, Donna Geddes Haddock

The HelloTech technician who came to my home was polite
The HelloTech technician who came to my home was polite, knowledgeable and patient with my questions. I am so delighted that your company handled the installation as he hardwired two of the three Ring doorbells using the existing wiring- something I would not have been able to do. Additionally he removed the non functioning old stick on doorbell.
The three finished Ring doorbells work beautifully on my smart phone which your technician showed me how to use. When he completed the installation and set up, he cleaned up and showed me what I needed to keep vs discard. You have an outstanding technician working for you! Thank you again for the excellent service without which I would be struggling to set up my new doorbells. Thank you!
HelloTech was recommended by SimpliSafe when I purchased
HelloTech was recommended by SimpliSafe when I purchased my new system, and it was so easy to schedule an appointment online. The price quoted when I purchased my SimpliSafe system is exactly what I paid, no extra fees. I received rapid confirmation that my first requested date/time were available (same day at no extra charge). In fact, the tech, Robert, called early to say he had just finished a job in my area and asked if it would be convenient for me if he came earlier. That actually worked with my day, and he was here within 15 minutes. After reviewing what I had to install and where I wanted everything, Robert got right to work. He helped me set up the app on my phone and made sure everything was working properly. I highly recommend HelloTech for their great service.

Kenneth is an intelligent gracious kind snd above the call of duty when it comes to helping a customer like me (a technophobe) learn and understand how to operate my equipment. It isn't a two minute installation as advertised and I'm glad I didn't try it. He understand the product fully and knows every aspect of successful installation and operation. I was most impressed. Tho I had to call him after my bell wouldn't work snd the battery didn't turn green he returned so I didn't have to do what the Ring service suggested namely take the entire unit off to troubleshoot. I had not pushed the battery fully into the unit and was troubled by receiving info that power was poor (it was the old reading) He gladly returned and I compensated him for doing so and delayed his sister's and his dinner and long trip home to help. He knew more than the Ring person and I'm happy I didn't listen. I will research a new battery to see if the one I get acts the same but according to Kenneth it should turn green and he hasn't seen one like mine that powers up but doesn't change color. That's it - he's fabulous - I insisted on paying him for his second trip but he was coming back without asking for anything.
Thank you Kenneth - we need people like you in California. Teri
No hellotech ever ever ever ever
Three experiences paid 5 times
1. Mounting TV on the wall, the FIRST guy didn't put TV in the right position. Then we call another time, a different guy came did a good job, but we paid twice.
2. Installing security cameras and sensor lights, still not working in Victorville's house. (Paid Twice) STILL NOT WORKING
3. Installing security cameras in Beaumont. The guy didn't finish job. According to him, we ordered 4 small solar panels. We called and sent text, he said to check his schedule. We are not able to get him to reply us back. We have to call handyman to hook up the panels. Then, we found out the security cameras for electricity plug in. We have to return our panels. (paid extra for handyman plus paid Hello Tech). BOTH Cameras and sensor lights are NOT working.
Besides the money paid plus extra money for fixing the wrong installing, the arrangement, our time etc.
NO HELLO TECH. 5 times experiences, only one did a good job, the rest 4 are not qualified.
How did you choose these poor skilled "technicians" Shame on you!
Tech ran off the job unfinished with the AC disapplied!
No kidding. Tech came to install a nest thermostat, went up into the attic to work on the furnace connection and then ran off to another job even though the Nest was reading an error. Texted him immediately and said he had to run to a job 70 miles away and promised to return at 7AM the next day leaving us w/out heat or air. Didn't reappear so I contacted customer support who eventually said they couldn't contact him and had no replacement BUT charged me $99 anyway! Got a qualified electrician out who said the Tech left the furnace door open (which disapplies the system), screws on the attic floor and fixed a sheared wire. These guys are not licensed and you are at the mercy of the luck of the draw - BEWARE.
Worst experience ever - tv mount service
On September 1st I hired Hello Tech to mount a TV on my living room wall. I wanted a professional looking mount so that is why I hired a "pro". The tech mounted the TV without using the in wall cable management kit. So I have two exposed holes in my wall. I call Hello Tech to send a tech to fix the issue. The second did not want to fix the issue because he stated that the original tech should have used the in wall concealment kit and he did not want to go behind his work. Now, I had submitted a damage claim so the second tech should have known what the issue was before he came to my house. I believe he thought he was just there to mount a TV. Called customer service again - and they tell me to hire a third party person to fix - WHAT THEIR TECH messed up. I am supposed to pay someone else to fix a problem THEIR TECH messed up. This is unacceptable. You can only email the damage claim department because they are crowds. I saw the bad reviews but I did not listen. DO NOT use Hello Tech. They do not stand behind their employees to correct a problem. The Manager I spoke with made me feel like this whole situation was my fault. If I wanted to rely on my expert knowledge I would not have hired a company that is suppose to be a professional.
Recommendation: DO NOT RECOMMEND
Disaster experience of HelloTech Technician and Support Team
Do not trust this company.
We asked for doorbell installment, but the technician break my whole doorbell system. The whole process is the technician directly removed the old doorbell without turn off the power source and when I asked him why the google nest connector was still left aside. His answer is this is for charging the electricity if we lose power. I trusted him but now it looks like he actually did not know what he is doing and talking! And when confronted with the pressing issue of the doorbell's inability to ring within our house, the technician exhibited no patience. He just left and told me the bell is worked!
Then I asked HelloTech to repair but actually no one help. I require to talk to manager many times and failed. They have a lot of excuses.
Revived my slow laptop with Hellotech's online repair service - Best investment ever!
So, like, a couple of years ago, my Dell laptop's warranty expired and it started slowing down. But then, like, a year ago, it got super slow and I took it to a local computer shop. When I got it back, it was even slower and it couldn't even go online anymore. I tried to get help from the company, but they were no help at all. So, my computer just sat unplugged for a few months.
But then, like, tax season was coming up and I realized I needed to do something. So, I looked online to find a place to fix my computer. That's when I found hellotech. I signed up for someone to come to my house, but then they called me and said there was no tech in my area. They offered to reduce the price and have a tech look at my computer online. I was like, "Sure, why not?"
I never actually talked to the tech who worked on my computer, but he did chat with me a little bit. There was a lot of stuff going on on the screen and it took, like, forever. But when he was done, my computer was, like, amazing! It was just as fast as the day I bought it!
I gotta say, this was the best investment I've made in a long time. The value for the money is, like, totally worth it. I couldn't be happier with hellotech. Thanks so much!
Unreliable Technicians and Poor Customer Service: My Experience with HelloTech
This company, HelloTech, is not one that I would recommend. We had an installation scheduled for Friday, February 26th, 2021. Two days before the scheduled installation, the technician called us and asked if he could come earlier since he had to drive 1 1/2 hours from Sacramento to Modesto. We informed him that the TV was scheduled to arrive between 1-4 pm and we needed to make sure it was here before he arrived at 4 pm. We told him that if anything changed, we would let him know.
The day before the installation, we called him and told him to come at 2:30 pm instead of 4 pm, and he agreed. However, 3 pm came and went, and the technician had not arrived. We called him again, and he said he was having car troubles and was trying to borrow his mom's car. We were not happy with this excuse since he had two hours to contact us and let us know of his situation, but he did not. He said he would message us when he got a ride, but that never happened.
An hour later, we contacted their customer support number, and after getting a canned response and apology, they finally said another installation person would be assigned the next day, and we would receive a text when that would happen. However, we did not receive any text. We called again in the afternoon, and their new answer was that it was escalated, and they were working hard on the matter.
Finally, we talked to another representative after waiting all day, and they told us that the technician they had assigned was no longer available for installations. They said they could reschedule for the next day, but we decided to cancel at this point and hire a true professional to install it. Overall, it was a really bad experience.
I would not recommend using HelloTech for any installations or repairs. Their customer service was not helpful, and their technicians were unreliable. It was a waste of time and money, and we ended up having to hire someone else to do the job. Save yourself the trouble and find a more reliable company to work with.
HelloTech Review: Incompetent Nest Pro Installation Services
I stumbled upon HelloTech while browsing the Google Connected Home website. They were recommended as a Nest Pro, so I thought I'd give them a try. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge mistake. I found them to be completely incompetent when it comes to Nest products. It's quite baffling that they offer installation services for products that they can't even properly install.
I had to cancel my appointment with them the day before they were set to arrive after speaking to my assigned technician. The entire experience was a complete waste of time. Luckily, I found another company that had no problems correctly installing all of my Nest products.
To start with, they refused to install the Nest Hello doorbell unless I already had a wired doorbell. I found this to be quite unreasonable, especially since Google sells the Nest Hello Doorbell Indoor Power Adapter, which is specifically made for people who don't have existing wiring for a doorbell. So, I purchased the adapter and used their live chat to ask about it when I first booked the appointment. However, the person I spoke to had no idea what the adapter even was. After a lot of waiting around, she finally made a note on my appointment, which I had already done when I booked it. This left me feeling uneasy, and I should have just cancelled then and there.
The final straw was when the technician called me the day before to let me know that they don't do any work that involves the use of a ladder, as they are not supplied with one. Installing security cameras seems impossible without a ladder. Also, they won't do any electrical work. Please keep in mind that the Nest cameras are not wireless. So, what exactly would I be paying for?
In my opinion, HelloTech should be removed from Google's list of Nest Pros. They are not equipped to handle the installation of Nest products, and their lack of knowledge and expertise is quite concerning. I would not recommend them to anyone looking to install Nest products.
Disappointing Experience with HelloTech: Failed Ring Doorbell Installation and Poor Customer Service
So, I decided to give HelloTech a try and I must say that I am not impressed with their service. I had requested them to install a Ring Video Doorbell Pro at my home and the technician arrived on time. He started doing some initial checks before installing the doorbell. However, after a lot of troubleshooting, he told me that the transformer output was not enough to activate the doorbell. He suggested that I should get a new transformer, which I ordered from Amazon for $30.
I scheduled another appointment with HelloTech for the same week. However, the technician arrived an hour late and after 20 minutes of looking at things, he told me that the transformer was perfectly fine and I did not need a new one. Instead, he said that the wire which connects to the chime had fallen down in the wall and he would have to cut through 8 feet of wall to get the wire back. However, he also mentioned that they were not allowed to do this.
It has been 10 days since then and I have been repeatedly calling HelloTech to get an update on my installation. However, they keep telling me that they will get back to me in 24 hours, but they never do. As a result, I have invested a lot of money in a Video Doorbell Pro that is not installed, a newly bought transformer that is not used yet, and most importantly, an existing doorbell that is not working because the wires have fallen into the wall.
I am not sure if it was technician #1 or technician #2 who dropped the wires in the wall, but it has to be one of them since there was no such problem before they arrived. I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by HelloTech and I want them to fix this problem without any additional cost to me. Moreover, I do not want them to damage my wall while fixing the problem they created.
In conclusion, I would not recommend HelloTech to anyone who is looking for reliable and efficient installation services. Their technicians seem to lack the necessary skills and knowledge to handle even the simplest of installations. I hope that they will take my feedback seriously and work towards improving their services in the future.
Disappointing Experience with HelloTech: Lack of Customer Service and Long-Term Relationship Building
I recently had an experience with HelloTech and unfortunately, it was not a positive one. As a senior citizen and veteran who is not very tech-savvy, I was hoping to find a reliable tech support company to build a long-term relationship with. I was willing to pay for their ongoing 24/7 subscription plan and for each visit, but I was disappointed with their customer service.
Despite submitting an order form that detailed my planned ongoing business with a subscription and what I needed help with during the home visit, the customer service representative did not seem interested in understanding my needs. Instead, they immediately started detailing each device that might receive a few minutes of servicing during the one-hour visit and informed me that each device would be an additional $79 charge.
I was hoping to build a long-term relationship with HelloTech, but it seemed like they were only interested in making a quick buck. They did not seem to understand the value of building a long-term relationship with their customers and did not take the time to communicate with me to understand my present and future needs.
To make matters worse, they called me on a poor-quality phone line that made it difficult for me to hear them. When they called back, they continued to focus on the additional charges instead of addressing my concerns.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with HelloTech and would not recommend them to others. If you are looking for a reliable tech support company that values building long-term relationships with their customers, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Terrible Experience with Hellotech TV Wall Mount Installation
So, we had a tech come to our crib to install our 75 inch TV on our living room wall. First off, I bought two different TV wall mounts and he said he didn't know how to use them. I bought both mounts from Amazon and they were quality TV mounts to hold up to 90 inch TV. Then pictures were sent to the tech the day before installation of where we wanted the TV mounted, he replied back no problem see you the next day. When the tech arrived the next day he said he never hung a TV on a drywall without a stud in the wall. He said he will hang the TV over the fireplace. My husband and I said okay. The tech then said he will go to a local place and purchase us a better TV wall mount and it will cost us less money for installation. The tech then returned 30 minutes later to our crib with a TV wall mount all motions. We asked where did he get that TV wall mount he replied Walmart. We were not happy about that we don't purchase things like that from Walmart nor shop there as well. We only shop online with Amazon. The tech then installed the wall rack which was not very professionally done it was leaning to one side. Not only that we paid for service and my husband had to help the Tech take down the TV and help put up the TV.
I have contacted Hellotech via email to have someone come back out to make the corrections. There was another tech come out he said the level was off he tried to make to corrections as well and said hopefully it stays right the level is still off. Three weeks ago our TV started leaning back to the left again. I have recently emailed the company with pictures explaining the bad TV wall mount or maybe the leaning TV wall mount. The email first of all called me LA and that's not my name of course and explained to me I must wait 24 hours for their decision.
I have now canceled membership with Hellotech and have scheduled another company to make adjustments that Sent a tech out just to see the work did and if there were adjustments to be made and yes the Wall mount is off level. Never will I have Hellotech help me with anything in our home. It was a total waste of time and money. The techs were not professional and did not know what they were doing. The fact that they went to Walmart to buy a TV wall mount instead of using the quality mounts that I purchased from Amazon is unacceptable. The installation was not done correctly and we had to help the tech with the installation. We paid for a service that was not done correctly and we had to pay another company to fix the mistakes that Hellotech made. I would not recommend Hellotech to anyone.
Unprofessional and Disappointing Experience with HelloTech Tech Support
I had a really bad experience with HelloTech and I want to share it with others. At first, everything was fine and the support was efficient. However, my recent interactions with their Tech Support have been very unsatisfactory and unprofessional. The wait time is always too long, over 20 minutes, and then there is another wait time while the answer point contacts tech support, which is probably in another country. Once the chat with Tech Support connects, it takes longer than it should because there are long periods without communication which lack explanation. I suspect they are working multiple customers simultaneously. There is also a lot of background noise, with kids crying and people talking, probably because they are working from home.
On the evening of January 16th, I needed support because my scanner was not working. I started with one tech, but midway through, I was informed that my fix was taking longer than usual and the tech's shift was ending. I had to wait for the replacement to arrive, which was another wait! The replacement was Rufel, who blamed my internet for the problem. However, he was wrong, my internet was fine. He was the problem. I became very frustrated working with him. He didn't like that I did not trust his diagnosis and raised his voice at me. I told him NOT TO RAISE HIS VOICE AT ME. Along the way, he kept pushing the idea of a tech visit, which was not necessary. After reading reviews of tech visits gone bad, they are the last people I would let in my home. Rufel continued working on my problem while maintaining an arrogant attitude. When our call was over, Rufel was not even smart enough to hang up his phone before he uttered "f___k you." I paid for a contract only to be sworn at. I had to call HelloTech twice before speaking with a manager.
The next day, I spoke with Tommy Callahan, who said he was a manager. I received an apology that was anything but genuine. Every time I speak with someone there, they sound like they are reading a script. I would not recommend this company to an enemy. Rufel will probably adopt another "fake name" and rudely carry on with the next customer that he speaks with. It's really disappointing to have such a bad experience with a company that I thought was reliable.
HelloTech Review: A Nightmare Experience I Wouldn't Wish on Anyone
I recently had an experience with HelloTech that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I saw an ad on Google that claimed HelloTech was better and cheaper than Geek Squad, so I decided to give them a try. What a mistake that was! When I called Geek Squad, they quoted me $99 for a service call. HelloTech, on the other hand, wanted a minimum of $129, and even then, they couldn't guarantee that they would be able to help me. Instead, they "advised" me to sign up for a $200 annual membership that would supposedly cover all my tech needs. But guess what? It didn't cover everything. In fact, it only covered wifi, which would have been great if that was my only problem. But it wasn't. I had issues with my computer and phone as well, and HelloTech was no help there.
When I tried to get help over the phone, I was put on hold for what felt like an eternity. And when I finally did get through to a human, they were less than helpful. I decided to take advantage of their 30-day warranty on repairs, but when they took my card information, they charged me $200 without my permission. I was livid! I tried to cancel the subscription online, but it wouldn't let me do so until the following year. I had to call them again and threaten legal action before they finally canceled it.
If you're thinking of using HelloTech, I would strongly advise against it. They are not worth the hassle. Don't give them your card information, or you could end up like me. Instead, call someone else. Anyone else.
Terrible Experience with HelloTech: Unreliable Techs and Poor Customer Service
I had a terrible experience with HelloTech. Their techs are not trained and are completely unreliable. I had an appointment with a tech named Sammel, but he never showed up. I had taken time off work for the appointment, so it was a complete waste of my day. The second tech, Abayomi Lucas (user ID # 455472), was scheduled for two days later. He showed up on time, but had no idea how to put together the Simplisafe alarm system. I ended up having to help him, call tech support, and waste my time for even hiring him. Abayomi was a very nice person, but had zero tech knowledge. He was at my home from 10am till 12:30pm and only installed 2 censors until I was fed up with teaching him how to program. I knew how to program, but needed help with the actual installing. He wasn't any help; I was teaching him. At 12:30 pm I was fed up and told him he needed to go home. We had 12 more censors, a video doorbell, 2 motion detectors and 2 video cameras that still needed to be installed and set up. At the rate he was going, it would have been midnight. I decided to cancel the entire service including with Simplisafe. We are now searching for alternative alarm systems that will be professional and have knowledgeable technicians who are TRAINED AND RELIABLE.
When I complained to the manager, "Tom", he was very rude to me. It was a completely unprofessional experience. I will make sure to spread this review far and wide so that they don't do this to anyone else. HelloTech needs to vet not only their techs, who are unreliable and not technically knowledgeable, but also vet their managers named Tom. It's important for a company to have reliable and knowledgeable employees, especially when it comes to technology. I hope that HelloTech takes this feedback seriously and improves their services for future customers.
Disastrous Appointment with HelloTech: Unprofessional, Lazy, and Rude Technician
So, I had an appointment with HelloTech and it was a disaster. The technician assigned to me didn't show up for the first appointment, which was a bummer. I had to call them and they gave me another appointment the next day. But guess what? They assigned the same technician who didn't show up the first time. I was like, what the heck? Anyway, he called me three hours before the appointment and asked if he and his partner could come early. I told him I was in meetings for the next three hours. He sighed and said if they didn't come now, he might not have someone to help him. I was like, okay, sorry.
When my meetings ended earlier than planned, I called and told them they could come now. When they arrived, the technician complained from the first moment he walked in the door through the almost 2 hours he was here. He was like, "It wasn't on the work order that he had to take down a 45" TV so that's an additional cost?the Sony TV he had to mount was new and had a bracket he wasn't familiar with?the instructions only had pictures, no words?the instructions didn't make sense?if the bracket had been a normal one, they would have already been out of there?I didn't put on the work order that the HDMI cable for the Apple TV that was there had to be pulled from the wall so that would be an additional cost, etc." He was just complaining about everything. Any time I asked a question or offered to help in any way, he snapped at me or gave me some sarcastic/snide response. He actually called me "Baby Girl" at one point (I'm over 50 years old). Can you believe that?
When the TV was hung, it was not even close to being centered, was crooked, and did not hang flush to the wall (which is one of the reasons why I selected the bracket I did?a Sony one that was especially made for the 2021 model Sony TV). When I pointed out these issues he said "there's nothing I can do" (although he never tried). Then he called into the office and told them that he tried to center it, but I complained it wasn't perfect, which was a lie. After the call he did try for about 5 min and then said the TV was too heavy (even though he had someone there helping him) and that the only way to fix it was to take the bracket off. He said he wasn't going to do that. What a lazy guy!
The second part of the work order was to hang the old TV in a different room. After 10 minutes, he comes in to say they couldn't hang it because the screws on the back of the TV were too tight and he didn't have the tools to take the existing bracket (for the 45" TV) off the wall. He then called into the office again (3rd time) to explain the problem. Each time he called, he talked about me in the most derogatory way. I mean, seriously? What kind of customer service is that?
In the end, I'm not sure if my new TV is hung properly, much less being centered. It doesn't look stable. They left packing materials all over the place. The 65" TV that was there is propped next to a bed. They removed the 45" TV and then threw it back on the wall, even though I told them to leave it off. It also does not look stable. When I asked for his name, he told me to call HelloTech and they would tell me. Then they left. I mean, what kind of professionalism is that?
I did call HelloTech, and they are refunding me for part of the job. But I'm still not satisfied. I'm now making an appointment and will pay additional money for Geek Squad to fix what HelloTech did not do. I mean, I don't want to waste my money on a company that doesn't care about their customers.
If you have the choice, do not use this company. They are unprofessional, lazy, and rude. You deserve better than that.

Unreliable Technician Alert: Avoid Carlos from HelloTech in 93010 Area
So, I had a sitch with my BOSE home theater system and needed it uninstalled and a new one installed. I called up HelloTech and made an appointment for the next day, Sunday. The CSR on the phone was cool and repeated everything back to me, including my name and phone number. But then, all the techs declined to do the job on Sunday, except for Carlos who said he could do it on Monday at 9 AM.
Carlos showed up on time, but said he tried calling me numerous times and couldn't get through. I had to explain to him what the job was going to entail, which was kinda annoying. But then, he apologized for the phone reps and said he has standards for communication. He also said the job was going to be more expensive because it was a big job. He said he would call his boss to get the adjusted charge and then...he just left. No word, no call, no nothing.
I was pretty ticked off, to be honest. Carlos seemed like he was all talk and no action. I mean, who just bails on a job like that? I found out later that he's apparently filthy rich and just does this as a hobby. Well, if that's the case, he should find a new hobby.
So, if you're in the 93010 area and need work done by HelloTech, I would kindly decline Carlos. His integrity for work is clearly not there. F Carlos.
HelloTech: A Complete Disaster - Terrible Customer Service Experience
This company, HelloTech, was a complete disaster. I was so disappointed with their customer service experience. I tried to schedule an appointment with them online for Saturday at 4:00 pm. I received a confirmation email and text message that a technician named "Jamie" would be coming to my house. I waited all day for "Jaime" to arrive, but he never showed up. Around 4:15 pm, I decided to call the company to make sure that the technician wasn't lost. The person on the phone told me that they needed to get in touch with "Jamie" and that they would call me back. I waited for 20 minutes, but I didn't hear anything from them. So, I called them again, and they gave me the same script as before. A few minutes after I got off the phone, "Jamie" called me. At this point, it was already 4:45 pm. He told me that he was stuck in a neighboring town, which was over an hour away, and that he would be on his way in the next hour, making him at least 2 hours late. I called the company again, but they said that there was nothing they could do and asked me to reschedule. I was so frustrated because I had waited all day for this technician to show up. All they had to do was call and tell me that they were running late, but they didn't. This company doesn't value their customers' time and business. They don't deserve a chance to work on your home. Don't waste your time with this scam.
HelloTech Review: Charged Me Before Service Completed & Terrible Customer Service
So, I had an appointment with HelloTech on the 17th, but I had to reschedule it to the 23rd because I needed the $143 for bills. They sent me an email confirmation that stated, "You will not be charged until the job is completed." But, to my surprise, on December 9th, I saw that they charged me $143! I was so angry and frustrated because I needed that money for my bills. When I called them, I spoke to a guy named Ray, and he told me that it was just a preauthorization, and I wasn't charged. But, on my end, it's the same thing! I don't have access to that money anymore, and I needed it for my bills. I've worked in customer service for many years, and I know that a preauthorization should be a minimal amount, not the full amount!
I felt like they were lying to me and scamming me. I wasted my time and energy on them. Ray put me on hold for a long time while trying to get me a supervisor. I was so frustrated because he didn't keep me in the loop. He should have let me know that he was still working on getting someone. But, he couldn't get me a supervisor in the end. I was so disappointed with their customer service. It was horrible!
I decided to cancel my order and report them to every agency that has anything to do with them. Taking money out of someone's account without permission is fraud, and it's illegal in the United States! They went against their own promise of not charging until after the service is completed. It's not fair to the customers who trust them with their money.
In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend HelloTech to anyone. They are not trustworthy, and their customer service is terrible. They need to be more transparent with their customers and keep their promises. I hope they learn from their mistakes and improve their services in the future.

HelloTech TV Mounting Service Review: Unprofessional Technician and Poor Customer Service
I recently had an experience with HelloTech, the TV mounting service that is offered by Target. I purchased a TV from Target and decided to use their mounting service to get it installed. A technician by the name of Justin was sent out to mount my TV. However, my experience with Justin was far from satisfactory.
From the moment Justin arrived, I could tell that something was off. He lost his keys in my front yard and was frantically searching for his cell phone that he had also dropped in my yard. This should have been a red flag for me, but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, that was a mistake.
Justin proceeded to mount my TV on the wall crooked and too low. Once the TV was up on the wall, he realized that he had forgotten to attach the cords. He then attempted to take the TV down, but was struggling to do so. In the process, he hit the TV on my wall and also on my telephone jack, causing damage to my TV.
To make matters worse, Justin proceeded to call HelloTech and lie about the damage to my TV. He claimed that the TV was damaged during delivery, which was not true. This all happened on January 20th, and as of the date of this review (March 15th), I am still trying to get HelloTech to resolve this issue.
I have spoken to several supervisors and members of the resolution team, but they have all refused to speak to me or give me a call back. The last time I spoke with someone from the resolution team was in February when he asked for pictures of the TV and any other pictures I might have. Once I sent those in, he stopped responding. When I called back, I was told that he was no longer with the company.
Overall, my experience with HelloTech was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this service to anyone, as the technicians they send out are clearly not trained properly and the customer service is lacking. If you are looking for a TV mounting service, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Disappointing Experience with Hellotech Contractors: Improper Installation Caused Major Damage
I recently had an experience with Hellotech contractors that left me feeling extremely disappointed. My wife had purchased a TV bracket mount through Walmart order#***464, and we decided to have Hellotech contractors install it in our bedroom wall. Unfortunately, the installation was not done properly and the bracket fell off the wall, causing major damage to our 65" TV and the wall itself.
Upon further inspection, we discovered that the bracket had not been secured to the wall studs as it should have been. Instead, it was only attached to the sheetrock drywall. This is a clear violation of the instructions that came with the TV bracket mount, which clearly state that it needs to be secured to the stud on a sheetrock drywall.
When we contacted Walmart and Hellotech customer support, we were informed that the installation was only guaranteed for 30 days after installation. This is unacceptable, as the person who installed the TV bracket mount clearly did not do the job properly. We are now seeking a refund for the installation and compensation for the damages caused by the contractor's negligence and malpractice.
We are confident that Hellotech contractors are insured to cover this kind of issue, and we have attempted to contact their customer service twice to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, the phone calls keep cutting off and it seems as though they do not want to work with us to reach an agreement.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Hellotech contractors. It is clear that they did not take the necessary precautions to ensure that the installation was done properly, and now we are left with significant damages to our TV and wall. I would not recommend their services to anyone, and I hope that they take responsibility for their actions and provide us with the compensation we deserve.
Captivating and Heartfelt: A Review of The Fault in Our Stars
Firstly they say that they don't charge you until the service is complete. Well, that's complete bull$#*!, they charged me instantly and promised me that the service is basically guaranteed. So then comes the day they were supposed to install my tv, the tech calls last minute and says he can't make it and that i'll have to call and reschedule. Well, nobody ever freaking picks up, took me an entire week to get a hold of someone, then they just tell me to reschedule online. So after i rescheduled to the next week (so the next scheduled date is 2 weeks after the missed installation date). I take the whole day off of work just to be there. Lo and behold, tech doesn't show up, and this time doesn't even give me a call. I ended up talking to their chat because nobody $#*!ing answers the phone. He once again just tries his best to get me to stop using the chat 'oh i promise he's on his way, please close the chat window.' and then I get an email saying that the tech is unavailable and they 'are currently looking for another tech'. $#*! it's been 3 weeks since I paid, and those incompetent [censored] still haven't gotten $#*! done. And then I find out they also automatically added me to their $#*!ty tech subscription and charged me right away without my knowledge.
Horrible Experience with HelloTech: Unprofessional Tech Damaged My Property
So, I hired this company called HelloTech to install a SimpliSafe alarm. The tech came over and said he was in a hurry and needed to finish the job quickly. He even asked me if I could help him unbox and connect everything via my iPhone. I thought it was a bit strange, but I agreed to help.
He started by installing two door sensors, which seemed to go smoothly. But then he moved on to a window and couldn't get the sensor to stick. So, he decided to drill a hole into the window frame. Unfortunately, the window glass immediately cracked all the way across. I was pretty upset, but he asked if he could continue. I declined and told him to stop the job immediately. I also asked him to file an incident report for the damage he caused. But he suggested that I do it all via email, which I refused. I asked him to file the report while still on site and on speaker phone.
The tech was very unprofessional and unequipped to do a simple job. He didn't even apologize for the damages he caused. Now, I have to deal with getting my property repaired back to its original form. It's a brand new home, and I'm really upset about what happened. HelloTech has been extremely unresponsive, and I'm afraid I might have to take them to small claims court. I'm also telling everyone I know about how horrible and unprofessional this experience has been.
I would advise anyone to proceed with caution when dealing with HelloTech. They don't seem to care that they damaged our brand new home, and they haven't responded to any of my calls, emails, or chats. I suggest hiring a company or individual with better practices. Overall, my experience with HelloTech was a 0 out of 10.
Terrible Experience with HelloTech: Unprofessional Technician and Poor Customer Service
I gave a call to hellotech.com to get my TV wall-mounted and they sent a technician named Bryan. However, I was disappointed when he arrived three hours late. To add to my frustration, he made a total mess of my new wall by drilling holes and scratches everywhere. He couldn't even mount the TV straight and the soundbar was even worse. The technician used the wrong screw and drilled into the brand new soundbar to fit the screws he found in his truck. He even dropped an extension cord behind the wall, which is against electrical code. After six hours on the job, he said he couldn't mount the TV or soundbar and suggested coming back another day.
I contacted hellotech.com to complain about their awful technician, but they said they would have to send someone out to assess the situation even after I sent them photos of the destruction. They took another reservation, but couldn't keep it and said they needed another week to find someone. I was extremely disappointed with their service and decided to hire a guy I found on Yelp. He has been fixing problems caused by HelloTech technicians regularly.
I strongly advise against using HelloTech. Their technicians are just random people without a license. I suspect that their technician application is so easy that anyone can complete it. According to the guy I found on Yelp, who fixed the TV, holes, and soundbar in just 30 minutes, they don't even pay their technicians on time. Everyone should know that this service is totally lousy and awful.
Beware of HelloTech: Nightmare Experience with Faulty Honeywell Smart Thermostat
I bought a Honeywell Smart Thermostat from HelloTech in mid-November and hired one of their technicians to replace my old thermostat in my brownstone. The technician installed it, but didn't check to see if it worked. Unfortunately, it didn't work at all and my house was without heat for me and my tenants. I called HelloTech within a few hours, and they promised they would reach out within 24-48 hours. However, they didn't keep their promise. My house was without heat for six days in 30 degree weather, and I had to call them every day to try and resolve the issue. I talked to some customer service agents who were absolutely useless and promised to get back to me, but they disappeared completely.
Finally, I had to hire an emergency electrician to come in and tell me that the thermostat was faulty. When I finally did get a hold of someone at HelloTech who did something, one week later, they told me I would have to return the thermostat, wait for a new one, then make a new appointment with a technician. That would mean 2 1/2 weeks without heat in December. They offered no solutions whatsoever.
This was an absolute nightmare. DO NOT HIRE HELLOTECH. I have never received such horrendous customer service in my life. I have been emailing them every three days since trying to get a full refund for the thermostat (which they finally provided me a UPS shipping label for) and the labor. This cost me about $900 more than it should have, with the HelloTech cost plus the emergency electrician. It was truly unbelievable. I've had plenty of bad experiences with contractors, but this one takes the cake. BEWARE.
Disappointing Experience with HelloTech: Unorganized and Frustrating Process for Tech Support
I decided to give HelloTech a try because I'm an older fella and I thought it would be a good idea to have someone to call if I ever had any problems with my computer. I placed an order last week because my computer kept freezing up on me. They told me it would cost $99 on top of the joining fee for HelloTech to send someone to my house, but I figured it was worth it to get my problem solved. They sent me an email saying that a tech would come to my home on July 20, 2020 at 9am. But when Monday came around, nobody showed up and nobody called to let me know what was going on. I waited until noon and then I finally texted and called to ask what happened.
I talked to a guy named Dex and he said he would get back to me in an hour, but he never did. I texted him again and he asked me if I still wanted to place the order. I told him yes, absolutely. Then today, July 22, 2020, I got an email saying that a tech would be coming on Thursday, July 23 at 2:30pm. I was okay with that until I got a phone call from a tech who said that he had my name and cell number but he wasn't sent any paperwork so he couldn't come on Thursday. I could hear people laughing in the background and it made me really mad. He told me to call HelloTech and tell them that he didn't get any paperwork. He said something about the people who schedule the appointments being in other countries.
Now I'm really irritated. I called HelloTech and got the same guy, Dex. I told him what happened and he said he would get someone to come on Thursday at 2:30pm like they were supposed to. I asked if I could talk to a manager and he said he would have one call me back in 24 hours. I asked him if there was a manager I could talk to here in the states and he said he would have one call me. I don't think I'm going to renew with HelloTech. I paid for a whole year and I only used it once and the process to try and get a tech seems so unorganized and frustrating for me. I think I'll try someone else next time.
Overall membership and service
In August of last year I ordered the yearly membership from hello tech as we just purchased a house and had items to get done.
1. On 10/26/22 4:16pm a tech came out to mount a tv as well as put the wires behind the wall.
leading up to this I received multiple texts and calls going back and forth to make sure we had the items he needed. Due to his pushback that he could not mount the tv in the basement because of the "metal frame" we cancelled the 2nd tv being done.
2. Tech mounted the tv. We asked him multiple times that we thought the tv was mounted too high but he reassured us it was the correct height.
3. After cutting holes in our wall to install the wires behind the wall and putting in the brackets he informed us he could not finish it because he needed to drill a hole to run the wires through and he did not bring the bit with him.
4. After he left we looked up all the information and realized the TV was mounted too high (based on standard height) and we also realized that the tech should have been prepared with the bit because it is not unusual to have to drill a hole to run wires. We lowered the tv ourselves one week later as it was clearly too high.
This was very disappointing but not the end of the world as I am a little handy and a good portion of work was done.
5. So earlier this week I ordered my new computer set up. I did all the plugging in of the computer and monitors but needed help getting the computer to run a dual monitor. I put all of that in the notes of the order.
6. Just like last time before the work gets done I get a phone call telling me what they cant do, and making me defend what I want done.
7. After explaining it to him again he says it was not on the order. At that point I realize I am getting the same bad service all over again and I told him I would call hello tech about it and never mind as he has no intention of helping and taking care of me and I would probably be left with a mess again like the tv mount.
I have enclosed the pictures of the tv below as it still is not done and you can even see the drill holes where the tv was mounted by the tech and where we had to lower it to.
At this point I would like a full refund of the membership, we signed up in good faith and everything we have asked for has been half done or not done correctly. I now either have to do it myself or hire someone that actually will take care of us.
I should not have my call disconnected
I should not have to finish the job of the tech
I should not have to defend my order on the phone to the tech everytime
I should not have to call and complain if the service should be done
I should not be made to feel I am lucky if the tech is coming
I should have better service and be treated like my business is appreciated. I had planned on having a bunch of outside flood lights as well as cameras installed later this spring and all I feel is that if I used hello tech I would spend thousands of dollars and get nothing close to what I paid for.
TV2 wires that should be behind wall
TV3 bottom bracket in wall but not hooked up
TV4 top bracket not hooked up but in wall.
TV5 top bracket but to the right you can see the drill hole from the tech that was 2 high.
TV6 same as 5
That top drill hole was 89 inches so with the tv mounted it was 103 inches off the ground almost 10 feet in the air at the top.
UPDATE: I sent this email to [protected]@hellotech.com after spending over 2 hours on 4/28/2023 multiple calls with the "membership" team and was advised to send the email as it has been escalated and that is where I need to send the info to. I did so and for the last 15 hours I have received 5 emails back stating that I need to call and reach out to "Membership" as the "Support" email cannot help me. I just called again to the 1-800 number and they requested that I restate everything so they can find me the area to help me. This is an endless loop. The service has been the so bad I do not think I have ever experienced a company like this.

Desired outcome: I want a full refund of my membership. Hello Tech has not provided the services I requested or they say they provide and overall just provided the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
To update even further after posting my complaint I have received 2 more phone calls and 4 emails. The emails are from support telling me to reach back out to Membership and go through the process again of explaining (I have done so 4 times up till now) and their final email was to give me a link to their "terms of service" and how to "cancel my membership".
The phone calls were to ask if my computer was a new computer which I responded "yes".
I am in an endless loop between support and membership even after asking for this to be escalated to a manager 7 times now over the last 2 days and being promised if I sent the email to "support" it would be addressed yesterday. I have asked them to stop reaching out to me unless it is by someone why can actually help me.

Complaint Against Hello Tech The Google Nest Cam was installed on my property on January 12, 2022 by HelloTech to a different location than the one we mutually agreed upon. Later I discovered it was illogically installed too high out of reach. I am 8years old and do not climb ladders, and am unable to locate anyone willing to climb a ladder to a height that requires a professional's expertise so that the camera can be charged periodically. First Energy Home, HelloTech, and Google, working in partnership, need to work together, to guarantee the product and services. The camera currently is not working as promised, as it does not take a video of action in the monitored area (Google case number ***. On January 19th I sent to HelloTech an Email requesting that the camera be relocated to a safe, accessible location and that there ought to be no charge. Then I discovered the camera was not working as promised, so I contacted Google (Case Nos. *** and *-*** when I talked with ***). So Google has a record of the dysfunctional camera they sent me. On January 24th HelloTech's *** assured me that there is a *0 day guarantee so that a charge for that visit would not be necessary, but he would have to get authorization and get back to me within 24 to 48 hours. That did not happen. So on January 26th, twice I phoned HelloTech ***, to ask about the status of my request. But after holding for an hour each time, it was clear my call would not be picked up. In recent days the camera consistently reported the battery life at 71%. Today the battery is reported at 77%, another malfunction. The problems with the camera cannot be determined until the camera is examined by a technician. So currently this complaint is directed at HelloTech to retrieve the camera from it's illogically high location. HelloTech keeps stalling, as February 12th approaches, the *0 day guarantee will not be in effect.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
On 9/17/22, I had a work order # *** for the installation of 2 outdoor home security cameras and 2 indoor security cameras and my original appointment was confirmed for 10:00AM on 9/17/22, but the installation technician that was assigned to my job decided to cancel the job and I called HelloTech and explained the situation to them and they saw that the tech assigned to the job cancelled and for my inconvenience I was supposed to receive a credit of $25.00 given back to me on my credit card that was on file. There was another tech that completed the job at 9:00PM that day and did a great job, but I'm still waiting for my $25.00 credit and have tried on numerous occasions via e-mail to resolve this issue, but the response I receive from someone via message is "they are submitting my request to the Tier-2 resolution team". I contacted HelloTech several days ago and they reopened the dispute again, but 48 hours have passed, and I still haven't received my $25.00 credit. The notes on my account actually state that I am supposed to receive a $25.00 goodwill credit for the inconvenience from the first tech not showing up for my appointment. I would like my $25.00 refund back on my credit card.
I bought (2) locks from hellotech in October 2022 - both of which were not installed on my property and I decided I didn't need the locks anymore so I requested a refund. I contacted chat support 3 times in the past few weeks and every single time they told me it would take 24-48 hours to hear a response. I kept asking how they would reach out to me and they always said email. I would wait the 24-48 hours and call back asking them why they haven't reached out with directions on how to return these locks so I could get my refund. Finally I called them, and they said they would process the refund on the phone and it would take 24-48 hours to get instructions on how to return these locks. It's now been over 48 hours and I still haven't received a call. (1) lock cost me $246.17 and the other cost me $400.28. It seems like this company just refuses to give refunds for unused items. It's incredibly dishonest and misleading - I would never do business with these guys again. They basically robbed me - such a terrible, unprofessional and shady business!
After scheduling with hello tech to have my 77 inch flatscreen television mounted to a concrete wall. I questioned the tech before arrival and at arrival if he was experienced and qualified to mount to concrete such a large set and how he would do it being only one person? The tech assured me that he was well qualified and experienced, this was far far from the truth. Not only did you tech not have the proper tools he was so high on some type of drug that he could not even begin to comprehend the instructions to the tv mount. The tech after borrowing tools because his were not adequate to drill through concrete, mounted the backing plate to the wall in completely the wrong place. The tech and his so-called brother who came with no credentials to help mount the television pondered the instructions through them aside and cut open all the hardware and attempted to assemble without instructions, stripping numerous bolt holes. After an hour and a half attempting to decipher how to build the tv mount with no progress I explain to them I had lost all confidence in their ability to complete the job and ask them to leave my house. I now have a backing plate mounted to the wall in the wrong position in concrete and a TV mount with stripped bolt holes that needs to be replaced. I've received no response whatsoever to the damage claim I've made with hello tech I was asked to give them 24 to 48 hours. This was seven days ago. Hello tech does not vet employees or drug test employees obviously. They do not tell you that they will arrive in their own personal vehicle unmarked with help with no credentials. I would like the wall mount removed the holes fixed the mount attached in the correct position the TV mount replaced and a qualified technician to complete the job? I've waited seven days for a response from hello tech nothing.
could not install a coax cable in my basement so recommended a subcontractor, Hello Tech. to see if they could do it. I scheduled an appt for October 26,2022 in the evening t9 see if they could run the cable. An estimate of $224.10 for the work was quoted and they said it would not be charged unless the work was completed. A subcontractor of hello tech came out on 10/26 and said he could not do the work and needed to schedule another appointment and that it would be an additional $249. We scheduled him to come back to do the work in a week but the next day my credit card was charged for both the$224.10 and the $249. I called and canceled the appointment for the following week. No work was done. I requested a full refund of the $473.10 but was told that they didn't come out for a free estimate. I disputed the charges with my credit card company but Hello Tech keeps lying to them and saying that I approved that the work was done when nothing was even started let alone finished. I have contacted Hello Tech several times about this refund and I was told on 11/21/22 that the refund was processed on 11/11/22 and should appear on my credit card by 11/25/22. I called again on 11/28/22 and was told it wasn't processed yet but was still being reviewed. I keep getting the run around for this refund which should never have been charged in the first place. I just want my full refund as they have lied every time I've called. This company is not to be trusted. Please help me get my money back! Thanks.
On July 1st, I had a Hellotech appointment for a TV wall mount
On July 1st, I had a Hellotech appointment for a TV wall mount. The technician arrived at 3 PM for what was originally a 1 PM appointment, and after only being there for a few moments said he had to leave and come back for a part he "forgot". When he came back he went to the upstairs bedroom and mounted a 32 inch TV onto the wall mount. I did not receive a paper statement, instead the tech had me e-sign and I was advised I would receive an email confirmation reflecting the $***. What I received was an email reflecting a sale of $*** with no explanation as to the additional charges. The service was for a wall mount which I was quoted $69 and "tilting" which is an additional $59, and lastly "cord masking" for $38. Some background- this a 32 inch smart tv so no need for cable wires or HDMI cords, just the power cord. I contacted hello tech on the phone number provided to me by the technician, and it was a nonworking number. I was able to connect with a representative via chat who explained the breakdown as such: TV Wall Mount Installation - $69 with the Tilting 17" - 49" - $59. And here are the add-on service. In-wall cord concealment - $69 In-wall cord concealment-Parts Included - $*** External cord masking (Tech provides parts) - $39 So- I was charged for services I did not receive. I am even disappointed with the "tilting" as the tech basically discouraged us from trying to touch the tv because it was unsteady?! I explained to the representative and even sent pictures showing the back of the television and she could see that we should not have been charged for add ins. Even the cord masking- All he did was wrap the cord loose around the wall mount. I was told my concern would be escalated and I would receive a refund- I have yet to hear back after almost a week and have been unsuccessful when trying to reach them. I have waited on hold for over an hour between multiple attempts with no answer on the phones. I would like a resolution.

I hired HelloTech to send someone to my home to resolve my tech problems. My main issue was that I could not print or scan from my macbook laptop to my printer. They sent a man named *** to my home. *** said he couldn't get my printer to print or scan from my laptop in the normal way, with the proper *** Driver. So, he installed a driver for a different model of printer and said it does indeed print now. It looked like it printed--he was printing so I thought it worked. The next day I sat down and tried to print my document and it wouldn't print. I do not know if he went into a special area on the computer to make documents print or what, but I could not get it to work. I went over to my mom's house to print my documents (that was what I usually did when I couldn't print from home). Unfortunately whatever *** did has now disabled my ability to print from *** printer. This made my situation much worse. I can't print from anywhere now. I emailed HelloTech the next day and told them my issue didn't get resolved. It has been over a month of back and forth emails (23 to be exact). They promised they would get a tech to call me for a remote appointment and hopefully that would resolve my problem--but if it didn't, they would send someone out to my house again. I've been promised calls numerous times and no one has called. I even had a set appointment where I stayed home all morning to take a remote call from a tech and they never called me. Apparently someone called later that afternoon (but I had told them I couldn't take a call in the afternoon--pretty crappy!) They have repeatedly blown me off. I have now requested a refund 2-3 times and they say someone will contact me and it never happens. They took my money and made my tech problems worse, not better. Basically, they stole my money! I want my money back. Terrible business!
HelloTech was hired in September 2022 to replace all the batteries in my *** alarm system. I made this explicitly clear to the CSR I was speaking regarding the service call I needed the batteries replaced. On September 21st, the technician came to my house without batteries and did not complete the task that the technician that HelloTech was paid. I've emailed them several times regarding a refund and they have been unresponsive
I made an appointment with HelloTech to mount my TV. They informed me that they would seek payment only after the job was complete. They sent out a text named ***. He mounted my TV just fine. After the job was done he charged me $200. I gave him a $20 tip. For a total of $220. I thought that was the payment. Hello, tech was seeking. He made it seem that way. Two days later I was charged again by hellotech. A charge of $185.90. When I called to inquire why they had charged me twice, they informed me that the technician was not supposed to charge me at all. They said that he took advantage of me. They admitted that he scammed me. They said they would do an internal investigation. When I called back to inquire what had been done, they told me that he claimed he provided me with parts to mount my television and that I volunteered to pay him $200. I told them the only parts he provided me with were the screws to mount the TV. They told me it didn't matter because he claimed I volunteered it to him. I told them. Does that make sense? They told me they would continue to investigate. When I called back to inquire how I could get my money back. They told me they could do nothing about it. And as far as I know, *** is still in their employment. Even though he scammed me out of $220, they refused to refund me my money. I ordered a new NEST thermostat from HelloTech, ORDER # ***, when I thought my old NEST thermostat had stopped working. Shortly after placing the order online, however, my old NEST thermostat started working again.I immediately went online and cancelled the order with an online/chat associate who said it was cancelled. But the thermostat was charged to me anyway. I have e-mailed several times and gone online about returning the thermostat for a refund, but they refuse to refund my money.
On June 4, 2022, I scheduled with HelloTech to have my Ring video doorbell and floodlight camera installed
On June 4, 2022, I scheduled with HelloTech to have my Ring video doorbell and floodlight camera installed. When the technician *** arrived on June 6, 2022, he explained that he couldn't install it. He said that HelloTech won't complete an installation that requires establishing power. Since he was still able to install the doorbell, he suggested canceling the service since my payment was still pending. He then said, I could pay him directly through cash App or Zelle. Upon hearing this, I asked him very clearly whether or not it was against company policy to pay him directly. I wanted to be sure that I wasn't violating any terms of service or voiding liability. He said very clearly that it wasn't an issue or any violation of policy. Therefore, I paid him $99.00 for the install of the Ring doorbell. He completed the installation and it was subpar. He left wires exposed and then covered them with clumps of silicone. It is a safety hazard in addition to looking quite bad. After he left, I went to the HelloTech website and saw in the FAQ that technicians are not to take direct payments. I reached out to HelloTech via chat and after explaining the situation with documentation of payment and pictures of the install, he said they would request a repair. They requested an email with the documentation and upon receipt, asked me for dates I would be available. I sent them the dates and didn't hear back. I sent another email and was told that they were dealing with high volumes of customer inquiries and would follow up. Since it has been over a month, I inquired again today via chat. I was told that they have now denied the request. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told no one was available. I am not sure how they denied the request after agreeing to fix the issue. I left an honest review on 6/20. Now the request went from approved on 6/17 to being denied which speaks to possible retaliation. They also never emailed chat transcripts per my request.

On 8/27/22 I had a technician come to the house to install my *** thermostat. He arrived in the morning and left after apparently installing the thermostat. About an hour later the AC stopped working. I called customer service and they said they would send a new tech to fix. I called multiple times during the afternoon as no one showed up. At 8pm they were about to close and my house was over 90 degrees. I spoke to a rep who said he would cancel my order and refund my money paid. I had to get a real AC company after hours to fix my botched repair. I still have not received my refund and have been given the run around by this company stating it was in process. It's now 10/3/22... I don't believe they have any intention of refunding my money. This company is disgraceful
9/18/22 & 10/7/22 charges of $218.90 & $94.05 respectively. The former charge was for inherent services to remove & replace an existing TV console, that required no assembly, however rhe merchant titled the proj wrongfully as "furniture assembly ". Thereby mis scoring & tus mis quoting the proj. Additionally, the consoles are not large items in terms of weight or dimensions, thus further adding additional $100 as large item wrongfully. On top of that the service scope required the merchant to remove & replace inplace/existing electronics, a o the cause of my improper or dis functional electronics is a direct result of merchant inability to correct. Further on 10/7/22i gave merchant a chance to correct. However the merchant sent the same 1st provider & he further weren't the situation by taping me unauthorized & not correcting any of his 1st failures.
I booked a service with HelloTech for Saturday Oct 8th. They quoted me a price of $357.00 for mounting my TV and concealing the cords in the wall. My original appointment was for 12PM on Oct 8th. At 12:05PM, I called to check if my tech was on his way. I found out that he needed to reschedule, so I did, begrudgingly, for 3PM that day. 3PM comes and the tech arrives. He informs he he cannot do the job I booked (specifically the cord concealment) because he doesn't have the proper tools. He left without performing ANY services - not even mounting my TV. I called HelloTech IMMEDIATELY after he left to inform them that he did not complete any services, and not to charge me since nothing was done. I was assured I would not be paying, since I did not actually receive service. To my surprise that evening I saw a $357.00 charge from HelloTech. I called the next day to ask why I was charged, since I specifically communicated that nothing was done. I was told I would receive a refund in 2-3 business days. Today is the 3rd day. I've called back and they informed me that not only is my refund still not approved, but it will apparently take an additional week after approval to receive my refund. This company is incredibly dishonest and misleading.
I requested HelloTech to install some electronic equipment in my new home
I requested HelloTech to install some electronic equipment in my new home. I started this process on September 14, 2022. As of today, 10-6-22, I still don't have all of my equipment installed. I have constantly had to call them to request technicians. The first THREE technicians started working on our equipment and then failed to come back to finish the job. The first one came late and asked could they come back to finish the job the next day because it was getting late. He came back late again the next day and still didn't complete the job. He then told us he would have to schedule another time to finish the job because he was going out of town. We requested another technician. The next technician finished some of the work the first. But once again, he left without completing the whole job. He then informed me that he will be out of town the whole next week and he would contact me when he's available again. We contacted HelloTech to request a third tech. He did stay late on a Friday night to get as much done as he could but wasn't able to complete everything needed. Now he's not responding. The common thread is all three technicians marked the job as complete. As a result, every time I call HelloTech, they put in the request as a new order. I explained to them that I am still trying to get the original job($858.00 in total cost, plus $69 for another charge they added later). I specifically explained to them that I shouldn't be charged for any more services because I'm trying to get the services complete that I've already paid for. They assured me there would be no more charges. To my surprise, the next day when I checked my checking account, they have charged me another $444 for another job that isn't complete. I have been calling me daily and each time they tell me my account will be refunded and it will take 2-3 business days to reverse the charges. Each time I call, they act like they've never talked to me before. It's very frustrating and I'm fed up.

This complaint is in regards to order ***. I scheduled service for the morning of 9/4 only to hear from the tech the day of that they could not make the confirmed appointment. I was given options for other appointment times, and also told that I would be given a full refund if I instead chose to cancel. I chose to cancel because I could not accommodate the offered alternative times on such short notice. Despite the assurance of a refund, I was immediately charged the full amount for the service (over $600). I immediately took time out of my day to call HelloTech to try to rectify their error, and was assured by a rep that a full refund would be issued because the tech ultimately bailed on a confirmed appointment. It has been over 2 weeks, and no refund has been issued.
I had an order from HelloTech to mount 2 TVs, 1 soundbar, and provide in-wall coord concealment. The initial technician showed up well past his designated time slot, mounted the two TVs, but then said he couldn't finish because he did not have a coord concealment kit. A follow up appointment was made with another tech to mount the soundbar and do coord concealment. That tech also showed up way late and also didn't finish either the soundbar mount or coord concealment. That tech left my house with a big hole of drywall cut out. I have requested a refund from HelloTech but haven't gotten it, I should do more than that since their technician damaged my house and never returned to fix it.
On September 19th, 2022, a technician from HelloTech arrived at my home to install a Nest Hello video doorbell. The technician took a personal call during my appointment resulting in poor installation which stopped working, and he also cracked the side of my video doorbell. In addition, the technician stole my old doorbell without my permission. It has been over two weeks and HelloTech has done nothing to return my doorbell, refund me for my service appointment or replace my cracked video doorbell. Each time I call, I'm told that a new ticket has been "raised," but I never recieve a resolution. I've had a hole in my wall for the past two weeks and have no working doorbell. I would like for the company to refund me for my service appointment, and to provide me reimbursement for a new video doorbell.
9_20/22 provider removed existing electronic devices fom existing TV console (lrge furniture) than replaced existing w/ new TV consoles that required no assembly. Than he reconnected the existing wiring/ cables to electronics including sub woofer. One problem the sub workweek did now work after re connect & provider did nothing to resove. Now merchant had been asked to correct 4 times ? All occasions denied that scope of provider word involved the sub woofers. Not true

I want to begin by stating that I do NOT complain against the Tech that serviced me, I'm rather complaining about the HelloTech Organization or lack thereof. I paid both $69 for a Home Visit and I actually tipped $20 to the Tech for a job I feel was well performed. HOWEVER, I signed for a "subscription/membership" which covers I suppose any online assistance should it be needed. The advertisement says $12.42 per mo equal to $199.00 OR...an annual amount $149. Key phrase being: "Annual @ $149". My problem besides the fact they provide a ton of phone numbers that no one actually answers but rather provide nice music to listen to for literally hours if you care to wait, and a chat service that could drive you insane...they also lie and deduct a FULL $199 for the annual membership that's supposed to be $149 Annual and then they avoid your request to be remedied in the amount of $50. That is my primary issue. They owed me $50 and refuse to engage with me to fix that issue. Next issue: They tell you that you may cancel the subscription within 30 days. Today is 12/26. The "subscription" ensued on 12/07 ,hence I'm still in the 30 day window. Rather than continue to fight in an email and chat to get back the $50 they owe ...I want to CANCEL altogether which means they need to refund a total $199 which represents the $149 actual annual charge plus the $50 over-chrg. There is no issue with the separate $69 because again that is valid and that belongs to the Tech who did a great job. And actually if you pay close attention they even said I was being discounted $20 for that as well. In any case I don't want to take away from the Tech who serviced me I just want my $199 Today I went to the Portal to try and cancel and it does NOT allow a cancellation there as advertised. It's all grayed-out and will only allow to request more service. Instead I sent an email to the [protected]@hellotech . I still want this complaint filed and will also contact my Credit Card Vendor.

I'm being charged for a service call where nothing was accomplished
I'm being charged for a service call where nothing was accomplished. I was told that he did not know how to resolve my problem. His advice, I should request a new router from my ISP and have them install it, and their service tech could fix my problem. Tech is nice enough but did not know anything about how to port forward or set a static address for my device. He didn't know it was possible to set a static address on your router without going through the internet service provider. I showed tech. how it was possible to do things that he had no idea could be done. I'm not being charged for teaching their technician and not getting my problem solved. I might add, I have two other people that were present for the entire service call, and expressed afterward, that was a "waste of time." They asked if I was being charged for that. I responded to their question that Hello Tech had a policy that if they couldn't resolve your problem that you would not be charged. The technician didn't tell me that I would be charged for his service call when he had me sign his phone, I thought that I was signing to verify that he appeared for the call, although nothing was accomplished. He told me that normally he would have another technician help him, but he was the only one that dealt with internet and router problems. In addition, he told me of two other customers that he gave the same advice, and as far as he knew, it solved their problem. I felt this was his "Go-To" answer when he didn't know how to solve the customer's problem. No paperwork of any kind was generated. No action report or service call report detailing what steps were taken. Additionally, I contacted Hello Tech customer service on January 14th and requested a refund, since then I had several phone calls to no avail. It's now February 4th and nothing has been done. The problem still exists and I'm being told they're very busy and backed up. Just be patient! I sincerely hope this can be resolved without a problem.

A contracted worker came to my home to install a smart thermostat
A contracted worker came to my home to install a smart thermostat. My A/C was working when he arrived. He took my thermostat off and began putting the smart one on. Then he seen that I needed a c wire adapter and he hooked it up to my furnace. After a few hours, it was made known that my furnace would not support the smart device as he could not get the smart device to power on. He said he would remove the new device and put my old one back on. We left at the same time. I was not charged. When I returned home that night, my A/C was not working. I texted the tech to let him know. He suggested that I have a specialized hvac tech come take a look. I called another company. They came out and it was discovered by another company that he left that adapter on my furnace and that was the issue. I reached out to the tech who came and was told well I'm out of town for the weekend and I can come by on Tuesday. I told him I cannot go without A/C for all that time and that I would be calling the company to see about someone coming out as this was an emergency. This company wanted to charge me to bring another contractor out to my house to fix the other persons error! I went back and forth over the phone with a customer service person for an hour, waited on hold for 2 hours to get someone. I asked why am I being made to pay for an error that I did not do. I explained the situation until I was blue in the face. I finally agreed to pay the fee because I was desperate and literally HOT. All I was given was a $10 off courtesy discount and still no guarantee on when they could get someone to my home. I was without A/C for almost 24 hours at that point. The next morning after still not having a confirmed appointment after another 12 hours, I contacted the other company again to come out and fix what the contracted tech messed up and paid for that. I canceled my appointment with company once my A/C was back on. This was an absolute nightmare! I do not recommend this company at all!

I purchased a home security system from a company called simplisafe
I purchased a home security system from a company called simplisafe. They recommended a company called hellotech ***) to install my new security system. The agreed upon price was $99.00 charged to my *** credit card. An appointment was made with Hellotech for FRI. Nov. 26, 2021. The technician(named ***, not sure which) did come to install my system and he did make some strange comments, but I though he was just odd.He asked me why I wanted a security system?,then he said that his best friend was the head maintenance man of my building and he would not steal anything from seniors. He said that we (seniors) didn't have anything worth stealing. The tech. also said that there was only one other lady in our secured building with a security system, which he installed, but she was "***" was his exact words. I didn't notice it then but he put the door sensor on the wrong door. The system is installed to monitor the main door, the front door, but the tech. put the door monitor on the back patio door. Take notice of the fact that I live on the 4th floor. It's like I don't have a security system at all. I asked him to test the system and he refused, stating that there was no need to test it.. The next day, Sunday, I tired to arm the system and it did not respond. I called hellotech and made the complaint on Monday,Nov. 29th.The hellotech rep. was nice and gave me a follow-up appt. date of dec.03, 2021. I called hellotech on dec. 01, 2021, just to confirm my appt. time and date, only to be told that I do not have a scheduled appt. date.I explained that I was given a date to correct the error and told that there would not be an additional charge since it was the technicians error.I have been getting the royal run-a-round every since. When I call the hellotech now, I'm placed on hold indefinitely or the call mysteriously drops. When I do make a contact, they read from a script to get rid of me. Please help me to end this abuse of senior citizens

Purchased a television and a wall mounting service from Target (in store) on or about january 29th, 2022
Purchased a television and a wall mounting service from Target (in store) on or about january 29th, 2022. When I scheduled the mounting service I was asked in the questionnaire if I would help the tech with installing to tv mount and I stated "no" - this was a red flag for me.Yet, they still sent this short frail guy to complete the service all by himself. After reading the mounting instructions for quite some time - in my opinion, entirely too long for someone who has done this repeatedly - he finally began working. Some time later he yelled out to me for help, but by then he had already cracked the screen. Initially, in my very first call to HelloTech I was told that it would be resolved withing 24-48 hours. This second call, they said it should have been resolved and she was "escalting this claim. After 50+ odd calls I have been told on every single call that "we are escalating it. Give it 24 to 48 hours". Ive had agents faking like she and he are managers just to get me off the phone. Ive had a manager pretending not to be a manager I soke to a week prior. Now, that sam manager of the claims department, whose name is "***", is now telling me that "no claims are being processed because we have noone in the claims department". I responded, you told me you are in claims. He then stated, "yes. But the head claims person quit so we arent processing anything".Escalations at this company mean absolutely nothing. They are shuffling me around in an effort to to make me give up on my claim. I have even had more than a few agents from Target call HelloTech in effort to resolve this and they are getting the exact same runaround. NOW. A month later. Nk one will even talk to me. Each of the 12 times I called today, they have answered and either put me on hold when the realize its me, then while I' on hold, or when I call from my own number they simply ha before connection. This is a scam. How HelloTech got the contract with Target, I do not know, but they aren't reputable
