Customer service rude staff
On Friday 8/12/22 I went to Giant Eagle on Broadview Rd in Parma Ohio to get some things for a family party. My 18 year old daughter was with me and we went into the liquor part of the store to get vodka because my 26 year old niece likes vodka. I was not sure what she usually drinks so my daughter and I were discussing it as she pays more attention to this stuff than I do. The clerk then refused to let me buy the vodka stating that she had to card my daughter because we walked in together and discussed the purchase. I explained exactly as above and as she is my child - it’s really no one’s business. She still refused. This was about 6:30pm. I should have asked to speak to someone because I’m guessing if my daughter was 12 it wouldn’t have been an issue. I purchase gas food and liquor here often but honestly I’m so mad that I will probably never return. Fine if she was a random teenager, but I can’t shop with my child and talk with her?!? Are u serious?!?
Desired outcome: Not sure- was a huge waste of my time

8 o'clock coffee priced on sale at $14.99 on shelf. Check out charged $16.99. This is not the 1st time this has happened to me. I have had other items before.

Getgo employee do not have lunch break in 2 years.
My family work there. I hard getgo higher up boss don’t care give 2 unpaid 15minuts brake and 30minuts lunch.
My family member luckily get only one 15 minus brake a day!
Even giant eagle employee get all the brake getgo employee do not have people to cover all the brakes from other stores.
I hard few people pass out at car wash because can’t have any brake month a go.
I read other complaints from all over other websites.
Employee cant use restroom and didn’t eat all day because customer yell at them they can’t wait 2minuts at cashier.
Company didn’t treat getgo employee good.
Very short staff almost 2years now. One team member in store and one at car wash. I saw used be 2 at car wash or 3 people in store.
Customer must angry because didn’t know why eating so much.
Employee yelling from customer because just use restroom or only one employee took a phone from other customers and then customer in store wait at cashier yell at one employee by themselves.
Most team member get employee can’t take nice 30 minutes lunch over year.

My work place is retail too but we must have all the brake even our state law said lunch brake is not mandatory for adults. even all the leader took brake at my other retail.
it’s not fair treat different between getgo and giant eagle employee. i’m not sure politics how ever it’s same giant eagle group ahold be similar policies.
Even short staff they should cover brake for all the team member! it’s cause of all kind of incident.
they need sit down without no job least 30minuts lunch brake in car or relaxing themselves personal time on lunch. they didn’t have 2years. company need hired more employee or corporate should help.

I do not like going to this Giant Eagle! everytime i go theirs always issues! they would not take my refund of just a couple od things because it was a online/delivery order and the customer service desk told me they cant do my refund cuz they dont do those! another time i waited a while in the selfcheck line got up and was told i cant use it cuz i dont have a advantage card! I didnt see any signs about that.
gift card scam
I purchased 3- $100 gift cards via the Giant Eagle App. One gift card was able to be redeemed on fuel, the other two continuously were said to have a zero balance even though they had never been used. Accordingly to the app, my cards had $100, but when I went to use them the cashier told me that they were of a zero balance. I fought over the phone and through email for 2 weeks, when I asked for a refund. I got an email stating that all sales were final even though it was just a glitch in the system. There is no answer over the weekend, so when I get ready to start the fight again on Monday, I check my $100 cards and showing on my app one has a balance of $0 and the other has a balance of $2.28. I have not been able to use them, so I automatically open my bank account because I thought that I received the refund, but nothing. So I am out $200, no refund and my cards have been mysteriously used. Customer service transfers my calls around and it seems as though nobody can explain my transactions or what could have happened. A multibillion dollar company has scammed a consumer out of $200...

Car wash on Rt. 228 in Cranberry Township PA (the one by Target not out toward Mars)
I went through the car wash yesterday July 10, 2022 and the washer latched onto my drivers side mirror and ripped off the back of the mirror. The attendant looked to find it in the car wash and could not. He wrote a report but did not have anything to give me as a receipt, but he said someone would call me. No one has called me yet. I went to get a replacement today and it was almost $200. I need someone from Giant Eagle to call me and let me know how to file a claim and where to send this receipt for the replacement. Thank you. new renovation
I am first off disappointed by the new renovation. Giant Eagle has been my primary grocery store for years and as it seems with the addition of (in my opinion not needed) hardware section, there are many products that are no longer available therefore causing me to now search out a new primary location.
Desired outcome: It's already been renovated so I guess bringing back products that are no longer sold.
With the renovation that has taken place at the Rochester location (I don't mind utilizing the self check out) however, the staff are left to stand around and talk. The language that was heard today with the front of the store staff was horrible. First off the staff should at least attempt to look busy but there are little ears everywhere.
Employee made a mistake during checkout; now I cannot get a refund....
This incident happened on friday june 24, 2022 @ 05:14pm, store #617 in geneva ohio. Unfortunately, I collect s.S. I. Disability and food assistance, so every penny counts.
As with every shopping trip I informed the cashier that I would be using an ebt card and a cash card. Before the young man gave me the total, he asked me if I knew how much was on the ebt card. I told him $95.00, he put that into the register and told me to scan the ebt card. I entered my pin, received message "approved". Another message appeared "waiting for payment method". The cashier was talking to another co-worker while ringing up my groceries... He ultimately put the entire order on my cash card not the ebt card! I left the store not realizing what he had done & my card was declined when I tried to purchase gas 10 minutes later. I returned to giant eagle & spoke to the manager, and she declined my refund stating "mastercard does not allow refunds" because a pin is used. I contacted mastercard, giant eagle corporate offices and the bank listed on the card itself. They all stated giant eagle can indeed provide a refund in the form of cash & that the manager was wrong. I then called the store and reiterated what mastercard etc. Said regarding a return being owed & and the manager once again declined stating they are "privately owned" & offered a giant eagle gift card. This money is desperately needed for gas to get to doctor appointments & therapy as I am disabled. This return was & is desperately needed. This was not my fault. The cashier made a mistake and now I have to suffer the consequences for his mistake?! Please review this matter and contact me as soon as possible. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years & never expected this. What I don't understand is, family members have returned items in the past & they also had used a pin on their bank debit card and was able to get a full refund, no questions asked. Maybe the problem is that this is a government payment? I will do my grocery shopping at another store. Thank you sincerely, bridget reefer

Decided to give GE another chance only to be disappointed again.
The attendant in self check out who I could not identify d/t her mask but had short grey greasy hair and baggy clothes.
Clearly irritated because I didn't have a loyalty card to self check out, she used hers only to raise her shoulders and arms at me telling me it's my money my loss because I didn't have one🤬 then after a few more calls from my register she proceeded to tell me " you know these machines are only for basket items" complaining I had too many items when there is clearly no sign that says other wise or anywhere for that matter. I don't know what was up her skirt today but it was totally uncalled for. I was in a good mood untill I went to check out 🤬 If you want more people to buy your products hire educated people who are not rude to the customers and do not look they live on the streets, do not require a loyalty card just to check out and purchase compatent self check out registers. NEVER GOING BACK

I ordered a cake online for my sons 6th birthday on tiesday I got an email saying the bakery accepted my cake and will be in contact with me if they have any questions on Thursday we’ll today is the Saturday of my sons birthday and at 730 in the morning I get a call from the bakery saying it was my fault for something I didn’t do they they couldn’t make my cake when I am suppose to be picking up said cake at 9am so 1 hour 30 minutes before I am suppose to pick up this cake they called me to tell me they are not making it after they sent me the email saying my order was accepted Thursday now I have to hurry and scramble and try to get another cake I’ve been having cakes made at giant eagle since I was a little girl I am 33 years old so over 25 years of my life my family and I’ve been getting cakes from giant eagle and this incident here I will never for the rest of the time I am alive spent any money at any giant eagle establishment. Your Rochester bakery dept ruined my 6year old sons birthday and the disappointment and cries that came from him when I told him he wasn’t going to get the cake he picked out. picked up ordered cake on April 23 2022 very disappointing they did the digital print cake split down middle before getting home writing was very sloppy and half was done in cursive and half done in print for what is being charged for these cakes there should be a little more time put in to them i use to love getting my cakes from here but now i will be looking else where from them

I went to pick up my prescription today 3.22.22, this prescription is filled by a Doctor every 30 days, Which mea to pick up that day, per your customer service at the pharmacy who stated we now have a right not to fill it for 2 days, are you kidding me no you don't.
It's a Prescription called in by a medical professional Stating to be filled on that day, Not 2 days from the day it's prescribed. You also have elderly patients out there with medically necessary prescriptions who specifically pick up their medications on specific days you have no right holding back someone's medication.
Not only that the young girl who is completely unexperienced who should have stated at the window we have a prescription being held till tomorrow for you, she said nothing she asked my name my date of birth and gave me a prescription Which wasn't even supposed to be filled!
Done with Giant Eagle, I should have left years ago when you gave my nephew another child's heart medication. Now I understand why so many people state how bad your pharmacy is.

I like the milk and meat being fresh but I gave two stars because 1. they sell off brands, you cannot find (for instance) brand name saltines. but 2. (being the thing that will keep me out of the store...a cashier was as sick as a dog. She hardly had a voice and could hardly hold her head up. She had already rung up half of my groceries before I noticed...I went home and wiped down each food item with sanitizing cloths then soap and water. I through away the bananas and food that shouldn't be wiped off. WHY would you allow such a sick person to work and spread germs to your customers? I'll go to Kroger's from now on. Too bad. I know it's hard to find workers but I'd rather stand in a long line with a WELL worker than get SICK! That's just plain irresponsible and rude. This Giant Eagle is in Blacklick Ohio on E. Broad.
apple and cherry turnovers
purchased a package of apple and cherry turnovers. Normally bakery products are excellent. The apple turnovers were made with mushy applesauce and were tasteless. The cherry turnovers had no cherries in them. They were absolutely the worst. Would never buy them again. Total waste of nearly $10.
Pharmacy service
I have been having reoccurring issues with medication not being in stock at this pharmacy over the last year. It has been a reoccurring issue monthly. I’ve had two separate incidents where I was told the shipment would be in 3 days from the day my prescription was received by this pharmacy and what day I was to come back to pick it up. I waited the 3 days, went back to the store to pick it up and was told it still did not arrive. No courtesy phone call from this pharmacy to even tell me of this change whatsoever. I’ve had to cancel scripts and have them sent to other pharmacies as well on several different occasions. I was then instructed during the last most recent time to call in at least 3 days in advance to give the pharmacy a heads up when my next prescription would be sent in by my doctors office to help with these stocking issues. So I did this time. I talked to the team member Pam today 3/7/22 who did not seem very friendly or helpful and then told me they still cant guarantee this medication will be in stock within 3 days. So this made me wonder why a team member even recommended I do this to begin with. The fact that i have been using this pharmacy for years, knowing the medication I do take is a 30 day supply. Why I constantly continue have this on going issue with this pharmacy has be baffled? This issue will most likely cause me to switch pharmacies and make sure my family and I never to use giant eagle pharmacy due to the lack of friendly customer service and constant stocking issues. Something needs done. As I cant see how I am the only person experiencing this problem.

There was a manager standing at front of store with one cashier checking out a long line of customers. This person/manager told me I had to go stand in the line, I asked her why she was not checking people out she said she was not a cashier. I wondered why she was on the floor at all if she was not going to help and was a getgo employee regardless if cashier or not! Weather or not she was a manager or a cashier she should have been helping due to the very large volume of people. This person was watching everyone in the line as if they were stealing. If she was helping it would not be anyone to watch! Older lady mid 50s, blond curly hair, blue eyes. Shame on you!

Extremely poor customer service at #43 township of pine market district
I placed a pickup order for Feb 25, 8:30-9:00am window at #43 Township Of Pine store. A store associate called me at 7:40am to ask for substitutions and also for any additional items. I gave her the substitutions and one additional item. After picking up the order, I realized that none of the substitutions or the additional item were there. I called the store. Same person who called me answered. Upon explaining my concern, store associate said they are out of all items. The associate was extremely rude to me. I said I would write to Ms. Laura Karet about this. The associate said to go ahead. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service provided to me today. I know it is only one customer for giant eagle in Western PA so it doesn’t matter to Giant Eagle but I am going to stop shopping at their stores all together.

8 piece mixed chicken
Good Morning. I purchased an 8 piece mixed chicken, from hot food for $7.99, on December 28th from the Giant Eagle at 6204 US Route 30, Greensburg, PA. I have purchased this chicken many times in the past and it was always delicious. This pack was so dried out, and the breading so hard, that you could hardly eat it. My husband and I tried to eat it but ended up throwing most of it away. I now realize I should have taken it back to the store but with the price of gas it did not seem feasible. I looked at the label and it said it was prepared at 10:20 a.m.; I bought it at 3:54 p.m. If they knew it was in the hot foods for this long, they should have thrown it away or reduced the price. I am so disappointed that the store would sell something like this.
