I am filing a complaint against FPL for their adjusted deposit term in which is stated IN TINY letters on each months bill that states if you're late more than 2 months you will be required to pay a deposit fee of 3X the amount of your average monthly bill. I have NEVER been more than 3 to max 5 days late. Never been in threat of my service being turned off. Simply thought there was like a 305 day grace period. Was never charged a late fee or anything bc the bill was always paid like stated above 3-5 days after being due. To charge a customer well over $420 for being A COUPLE days late in which in no way there has ever been a full months missed payment is DISGUSTING/FRAUD and quite frankly should be highly illegal.

I am a single mother to 3 boys. I have a zero missed payment history on my credit, so to require someone to just let FPL sit on well over $800 since moving here is not okay and should absolutely be reconsidered. Not to mention NO one from FPL would assure me that upon moving or corrective payments would I ever see this money again, they simply replied over and over "this is just to ensure your service will not be interrupted." MY SERVICE never has been bc I've never been more than 3 days late.

I demand this is handled and rectified with FPL along with the 1000 other complaints around this issue.

The cost of living is already astronomical, so that fact that things like this happen without any resources or help? Heck, the IRS is more helpful then FPL.

Desired outcome: To have the $420 additional deposit i was forced to pay refunded rightfully so as I have NEVER had my service shut off or been delinquent in any way.
