I had to call Efficient Air because my home insurance sent them over
I had to call Efficient Air because my home insurance sent them over. The repair guy didn't even bother checking it out because it was on the roof. I called the company and told them that I have a two-story house, but they said they don't fix units on the roof because it's too dangerous.
This is the second time we've dealt with Efficient Air
This is the second time we've dealt with Efficient Air. The first was in July . Our unit broke down on Sunday 7/5, and we couldn't reach American Home Shield until Monday. We suffered through 3 miserable days with the scorching AZ temperatures reaching 116+. But that was because there were a lot of service calls in the Phoenix area. Efficient Air came on Wed 7/8. They replaced the capacitor and checked the unit, and it worked well for the rest of the year.
This time, Efficient Air called us offering a system check-up for $34.95. We usually do this every year to prepare for the upcoming summer. The technician they sent, Jonathan, thoroughly inspected both the inside and outside units. He changed the filter on the inside unit using one we already had. He suggested that we get both units cleaned thoroughly because they showed signs of corrosion and heavy dirt. We live outside the city in a rural area with lots of dust, cats, and dogs. The additional cost for cleaning each unit would be $198. We agreed because we hadn't done it since we installed the unit in 2011, and we could see all the dirt on the components. Jonathan removed the exterior panels of the outside unit and washed it thoroughly. While he cleaned the units, he also took apart the top cover so we could sand and paint the rusty areas of the top "grill." Luckily, it was sunny, and Rustoleum dries quickly. He put everything back together, and our HVAC unit was tested in both cooling and heating modes, and it's working well.
Our total bill came to $513.95, which included the initial service check-up ($34.95), chemical cleaning of both units (inside/outside $168.00 each), and $143 for the Service Club (2 years for the price of 1), which covers 4 service/maintenance calls (spring & fall) at no extra cost. In the past, we've paid up to $90 for service/maintenance calls from other AC and heating companies in Phoenix, but we haven't received the same level of service. Please note that our American Home Shield policy doesn't cover maintenance services. Jonathan was professional and thorough. He explained everything he did as he went along. We agreed to and inspected all the services before and after they were done.
