This is the sequel to the first Earn To Die and they some how made it worse. They added a few more levels and upgrades but they took away the things that made the first game great. There's no sense of progression anymore. You start a level and you're forced to use the car that they provide you. So you start a level and start earning money to upgrade the car and you keep doing that until you beat it. Then they give you a "better" car and restrict the use of the previous cars. So each level you start back at zero without anything gained from the previous levels except the money you earned on the run you beat the level on. Do yourself a favor and buy the original and save your money on this.

Game has all the familiar controls and progression as the first installment, and I've purchased and enjoyed both. However, it also shares a huge lack of scenic diversity.
This game seems to go on forever with the same level with the same backgrounds, obstacles, zombies, with the only difference being the layout of the track. The construction yard in this game seems to span the entire distance of the continental United States. If I'm going coast to coast, at least throw in the biggest ball of twine or something. Anything...

New game mechanics definitely add a more strategic dynamic but, I would love to see some differences in terrain and scenery in future updates as the devs did such a great job at the different cars and damage programming.

Ok so I’m sure it must be hard to make a console game and a lot of time and effort would go into it but, I would like to suggest a console game. So I know that the developers have already made crash cars wick is kind of the theme I am suggesting. But with a twist! Ok so keep the the same art style of earn to die make more weapons similar to the ones currently available and make more vehicles maybe 10 more? And make it where it’s a large arena with 20 players or so and you have to destroy every car. But when a persons car is destroyed they can go on foot. Also make them be able to find another vehicle and weapons and maybe traps? I know this is a lot to ask but it seems like a good idea to me and please let me know what you think by responding

I would love this game if I didn't have the 1st one to compare it to. Graphics, music, & effects are better but the increased time and complexity to car upgrades, well I'm just not sure that's an improvement!? It gets tedious! I'm also disappointed the landscape and scenery does not vary as much as the first game. Is this future dystopian zombie Apocalypse really a continuous burned out cityscape of overpasses and tunnel from Oregon all the way to the South? Really? Other than thinking too much about who is paying you these extraordinary sums of money, and how they manage to constantly rescue you back to the garage, I am impressed with the much more difficult terrain, varied routes and one's ability to recover from wipeouts. You can no longer simply drive pedal to the metal to survive.

I've been playing notdoppler's online games for over 10 years, and I can remember when the first earn to die was released. Then the second online, then the first app, and now the second app. The first game was such an amazing hit, I recommend anyone and everyone play it. However, one of its key qualities was that it wasn't very long. It was enough to where you couldn't beat it in one sitting, but it still didn't drag on forever. This game does. There are now about 6 upgraded for engine and gearbox, they've added weight distribution, 4 sets of tires, and much more. There are so many upgrades that you will have to play hours upon hours of this game to beat it. Overall, it's just not as good as the original earn to die (which I recommend 100%), and I wouldn't say it's worth the money you'll spend on it.

Hey! I recently bought this game about a week or two ago and I’ve been enjoying it a lot. For 99 cents, it really is a good bang for your buck and a good time waster. However that’s all it really is. After the 3rd or 4th new car, the game just gets repetitive and boring. As things get more expensive, progress just gets slower and slower. There are no new enemies and it’s just the same old same old. Don’t get me wrong, I like to see the cars get upgrades with the armor and weapons but for how long it takes to get said upgrades, the reward I get for doing so just doesn’t feel worth it. It will take me 4 or 5 runs of the same level to get a single price of armor for my vehicle, but still barely make it much farther than before.

TLDR: Fun, but gets repetitive and upgrades don’t feel powerful enough for their pricing.

I honestly enjoy this game, okay? It's great, it's fun, and it's addicting; money well spent. I just have one thing that just bothers me so much: the gas and boost button. I don't know if it's part of the game or not, but either way, I don't like it. The gas and the boost button just quit. They become inaccessible! I push and push on them and they don't work! They turn orange when you push on them and sometimes, they don't. I just try to enjoy the game and play it, and during mid game, BOOM. They stop working. Sometimes, the boost is the gas and the gas doesn't work. They mostly both don't work! Then it says 'too slow' and it ends my gameplay. Please fix this issue. It's awfully bothersome. Makes me want my money back. :( :/ I even play on an iPhone SE, third newest iPhone. I'm pretty sure my iPhone isn't the issue.

I really enjoyed the first game but this one-eh. Some of the tracks are fun and when you upgrade your vehicle there is a noticeable difference. However, there are a lot of boxes you run into and the vehicle often gets stuck in this jumble. The vehicles also flip upside down which can also be very aggravating. I was very disappointed to see in-app purchases. The prices of upgrading your vehicle increases and you are often running the same routes over and over again. That gets old very fast. This game is fun if you don’t mind grinding. However, I would have liked to see a better variety of tracks, more zombies and better checkpoints to eliminate the redundancy. I think with some fine tuning, this game can be really fun. And please, no in app purchases. You are ‘earning money’ as the title suggests-not earn to pay.

It’s not that bad I mean .I think the first one was better. but this one it’s it’s it’s a little bit harder because I mean you have to finish the level to get onto the next car but it’s it’s also fun because there’s gas stations and that makes it a little bit easier I mean it’s also kind of making me mad that like when you change the tires it doesn’t look different when you like when you like teen stuff it doesn’t look different but I mean it’s still fun but I really like the first one better because I mean it’s just better it’s just more fun but this one’s gonna be fun because I mean I’m only on the first level in first get second gas station I only made made it one yeah station so I’m pretty excited to go like pretty much halfway across the country and I mean it’s gonna be fun but this is just my first review to start‍♂️‍♀️‍♂️‍♀️‍♂️‍♀️ first ones better keep that in mind.

This is about as boring and crappy as they come. Let me introduce you to the game play.
-Hold gas down
-Wait for car to break
-Purchase one upgrade
-Repeat till fin
Everyone so often you are even rewarded by receiving an “upgraded” car. This upgraded car is just a new car skin with all of your vehicle upgrades reset. On top of that it won’t let you loose any of your old cars once you receive a new car. The reason for this is that your older car is actually substantially better than your new car.

In terms of control, in addition to the gas, you also have tilt and boost. These controls allow you to take slightly different pathways on the levels; however, none of these actually very the game play or reward you for being a skillful driver.

Save yourself the .99 cents and buy a game that is actually fun to play. This game, if you can even call it that, us about as fun as watching paint dry.

This game does nothing to reward you for a good performance. The mechanic of driving is clean however your performance has little to no impact on how far your rig travels. There is no element of getting better as a player aside from buying more upgrades. Once you’ve spent hours grinding to get every upgrade then you clear the level. What’s the point in even driving if there are no hopes of clearing a level unless I have every upgrade? Once you complete a level rinse and repeat because the game doesn’t let you carry forward your fully upgraded rig. Sure the ice cream truck will be better eventually but let me run my old rig until I have enough for the new rig to reach parity. Further, let me take my new rig back to a prior level, what’s the fun in having a fully loaded rig if you only get to use it once? Let me dominate a prior level with the new fancier setup. Not worth your money. No reward just grinding.

Ok so ik this game just came out a few days ago but I just have to say... Wow... I thought etd 1 was good but you managed to make that game look like crap... Anyway let me explain, I like the intro with the new character (and the fact we have one of those) I like the wide car variety and the fact that you find cars instead of buy them (who would use money in a zombie apaco?) so that's realistic a long with the damage but I have an idea instead of money why not use parts for the ability to create upgrades? Like to form armor (I also love the new upgrades, you go notdoppler) and last but not least 2 things I don't like 1. When I turnover I try to flip and get stuck but it's my fault but if u make a flip pop up when u do tht it would be nice (love the gas pop up btw) 2. Pit stops, the are cool and realistic but I wanna get more money (or my idea) "parts" and go farther. Hope you like it I'll give a definit 5 stars :)

Loved the first one, never made a review about it because I wanted to play it through, so I did. Seen there was a second one, so I downloaded it. The first one is great, if your looking for strategic games this is not for you, just so you know, but it’s fun for passing time, or if you don’t have internet. It was amazing, but this one is what got me, and that explains the rating on the first game, your team didn’t care about anything but money, you literally made it possible beating the level/game without the car/vehicle from being maxed out, that is a bad mess up for the company trying to make the car pass a level without being all the way upgraded, that’s crazy, and not being able to play the next level as the fully upgraded car? Really? Should have tested your game out before releasing it. If it wasn’t right then you shouldn’t have released it yet. If you don’t improve please don’t make a third one or a spin off.

Big bad bug: I have my IAPs turned off and on a iPhone 6 and every time I start the game, there's a nasty pop-up that says "BILLING_ERROR_PURCHASE_DISABLED" and it pops up about 10 times. Every time.

They made some crazy changes from the last one. Mainly, they took all the fun and strategy out of purchasing the upgrades and new cars how you wanted and made it completely linear.

The worst part is, when it gives you a new car (yes, it gives it to you, you don't buy it), you MUST use it. You can't use the fully upgraded car you just worked hard on, you must start all over again going 10 feet then upgrading. Makes no sense. Why wouldn't you use the old car with all the upgrades and large gas tank to help earn money until the new car is upgraded enough to drive it?

And the stupid pop up EVERY time you race. I don't want to buy the stupid gas. It doesn't get me far enough to pay for itself. I may use it at the end of a level. But not EVERY TIME!

Sure, the old game only took me a few hours to beat, but I've beaten it 3 times because I loved it. But you "fixed" a gameplay mechanic that wasn't broken.

The game has real potential. But it's just too basic, simple, and boring after a few levels. This game has lots of upgrades, and different vehicles which catch your eye, and get you to buy the game...because you see the potential. But then you actually play it, and it's the saaaaame thing over and over. Each vehicle should be a better option than the vehicle before. Not the case. Getting a new vehicle literally just takes you back to square one. Each vehicle performs exactly as the rest. The game mechanics are very elementary. The game has no challenge aspect to it. You drive, you upgrade, repeat. You simply can only go so far without upgrading, and there isn't anything your skill can do about it. Another thing I liked about the free trial of the first version of the game is that with each upgrade, the look of the vehicle changed, and it seemed as though you could directly see how it helped you. This 2nd version, the only thing that changes is when you add something, and as you increase wheel size. And the only real correlation you notice is you get further in the game.
Overall, this was a waste of money, and I'm ashamed I paid for this game.

As a fan of the first game, I was initially disappointed in this sequel. It's quite different. The first game encouraged experimentation and strategy in choosing and skipping new vehicles and upgrades. You got to see how a new vehicle could suddenly make an impossible stage into a cakewalk.

Earn to Die 2 gives you a new car for free in every trio of stages, but doesn't let you use an older, upgraded vehicle or purchase a new one early. The new car always feels like starting over from scratch, with no clear benefits over the one you just had to give up. What's more, upgrades for the first couple of vehicles are "on rails," in that the prices clearly encourage you to upgrade in a specific order. You can also no longer skip from a level 0 tire to a level 4 tire in a single purchase; it's all incremental.

However, I've come to really like the game in its own right. The level design is fantastic, offering several hard to reach but quick routes alongside slower but safer routes. The destructible vehicles add a whole new dimension to driving that manages to be fun, not aggravating. Later cars also tend to make multiple upgrades available simultaneously, reducing the initial restrictive sensation. The sequel is far longer than the original, and is so without becoming tedious. While it's not an unqualified improvement over the out original, it's definitely worth playing.

In general this game gets a lot right. It’s just enjoyable and fun to bust through the levels at breakneck speed crashing through piles of boxes and bodies. That loop is pretty fun. And at first the story mode is pretty fun with going a short way and amassing money with multiple runs to upgrade your car until you can finally make the checkpoints and eventually conquer a level.

The main downfall of this game shows up after the first level. After spending a dozen runs to beef up your starting car and finally making it to the end of the level all progress you just made is thrown out so you can start with a brand new car with no upgrades. You can’t use that older car anymore even though it would be way better to use since it has all the upgrades. Instead it’s all thrown in the trash and you have to do it again on the second level. And the third. And the fourth. And on and on and on. Eventually you will realize you’ve done hundreds of runs of basically the same treadmill over and over and over again.

You could instead play a different game mode except they are ALL locked behind needing to complete the story mode. I’ve been playing a handful of days and I’m only about halfway through with all the cars they want you to get through in the story. It’s just not worth it to get the endless mode unlocked because I will already be burned out in the experience by the time I get to it.

About the time I really started to feel the burnout of this repetitive car upgrade grind that just kept getting reset every level I noticed a little corner pop up to buy in-game currency (to upgrade the car faster without having to keep running the same static levels) and it made more sense why this endless repetative task is here and why all the other modes are locked behind it. You either need to grind forever if you only paid a dollar for the game, or you can pay more to bypass a lot of the tedium. It’s kind of a crappy way to go about your monetization.

Overall I like the moment to moment experience. But every time I complete a level and everything I worked for gets thrown in the trash and I get another underpowered car to start all over with it drags more and more on me and I just don’t want to keep playing.

I was really excited to get this game when I first heard it was coming out. I kept on waiting and waiting and then finally, it did. And I loved it. The gameplay mechanics were great, the background music was awesome (although I did notice a few that were adopted from the first game) and the new upgrades were outstanding. But as I continued to play the game, I noticed a few things that I DISliked about it. And here they are:

The first thing is the pop-up bug about the "purchase error". At first it didn't bother me, but after having to keep tapping ok 5 times after I closed the app and reopened it, or even got a notification, it started to bug me... A lot. Insomuch that whenever I got a text from someone I was afraid of leaving the game just because I knew that I'd have to tap ok 5 more times when I went back in. I hope NotDoppler fixes this soon.

The second thing I noticed was that the upgrades got WAAAY too expensive. I literally had to go through THREE DAYS before I could purchase a second upgrade on the later cars. This may be just a way to get you on edge, but I'm dropping a star because of this. It's just too much of a hassle just to play 2 days without an upgrade, let alone 3. A good suggestion is maybe lower the costs of the upgrades, or just give more money to use after each day. Again I REALLY hope NotDoppler fixes this in the future.

On the upside, the games physics engine has improved a lot since the old game, and for that, I give it a star. Along with that, despite their cost, I love the new upgrades. They really help your car go through each level and make it so you can play the game more fluently. I also like how there is more of the upgrades. And I really love how there is full body armor too. The last thing I like about the game is that it KILLS time. There is A LOT of new levels (that are also really fun) and A LOT of new cars. This makes the game something that definitely deserves to get a star.

In the end, I give this game 3 out of 5 stars. A lot of its gameplay mechanics have been drastically improved, and I can't emphasize this enough, it really does KILL time. On the downside, though, the upgrades can get really expensive and that stupid pop-up is just freaking annoying. I honestly want to jab it with a knife every time I see that stupid "ok" button. But overall this game is a really great game and I recommend it to those who enjoy a little zombie smashing - correction - a LOT of zombie smashing. (There's even an achievement for smashing 2000 of them!) and for those who don't get angry very often. That's all for this this review, and I thank you for reading it! Have a good day!

Honestly this game is complete rubbish compared to the first game. The cars in this one are completely under powered and you will grind for hours just to upgrade one car halfway. Every time you try to purchase something they ask if you would like to purchase money. Do not pay two dollars for this game there are tons of free games out there that are 100 times better.

Waste of money and waste of space.

Seriously? Physics just flat out don’t exist in this game. First one is 10x better and actually was fun. This app is nothing but frustration since its not much like the first one. The vehicles constantly get stuck and stop with just 1 or 2 boxes/zombies, booster is a joke, rather than driving and smashing through boxes like the first one this version prefers to literally go straight up. Glad I wasted money on this.

It's simply hold the gas and hope for the best, nothing else to it, no skill, no strategy.

Every new level you get to it's literally like starting a new game, in theory there is truly no "progression" in this game.

Every new car feels like the one before it... a Bus shouldn't feel like a car.

I paid for this game and it'll be deleted sadly, I just need something to pass time during my breaks and this GOT OLD FAST!

This is a huge disappointment because earn to die the flash game was great. The controls feel so awkward and i don’t feel like i’m really in control of the vehicle. The upgrades are so underwhelming. The levels are repetitive. There’s zero depth in the gameplay. I thought i’d get a little more since i actually paid for it? Glad i spent nothing less than a dollar and i will be removing this hot piece of garbage off my phone. Smfh

Every car you get has the same cruising speed, meaning a box truck is just as fast as the Lamborghini. The incentive to get the next best car just isn't enough. The booster is the only thing that makes the cars fast and you need to upgrade EVERYTHING before you even have a chance at moving to the next level, which means your skills don't count for anything. Do the technology world a favor and get a game that actually requires skill.

Look at all these 5 star reviews. Every single one of them was written by people with the most generic usernames ever and all of them are saying the same thing. You know what that says about the developers? They're willing to make fake ratings for their game to boost popularity. Shame on you. The game is very very long, car system is horrible, none of the Cars belong in a zombie apocalypse and it takes way too much time to upgrade the cars.

Number two is a complete and utter joke! It takes so long for you to upgrade your car just to get from one point to the other. Also, the game gives you know cash! Only a tiny bit! Furthermore, the music last game was so much better! This game takes hours and hours of grinding just to get to one checkpoint. The first earn to die was at least 10x better at the very least. If you guys make an earn to die 3, I will be more prepared and read the reviews

I spent 100$ on this game and I almost beat it on a new phone. Days later I was not liking my new phone because of the battery so I sent it back and got my old phone back and downloaded this game so I could still play. Come to find out everything I bought and every minute of my life spent on this game is GONE. I clicked restore purchases at least 1,000 times and it’s kinda stupid because in my achievements it shows that I went through levels and stuff. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

Before you say this guys doesn’t know what he’s talking about, hear me out. A game is something that whether it be easy or hard there is a chance you can lose a chance you can fail. Not in this game you push the on the gas and that car goes left to right and that’s the game. You buy “Upgrades” but instead of this being something you have to choose what is and isn’t the right ones you just get them in the order that they are there for and that’s it. This is as much of a game as cookie clicker

It’s starts with a scene like there might be some small story part but that doesn’t happen again between lvl 1 and 2. What’s made me stop playing though is that to beat lvl 1 I needed to max out my car, okay fine, but the lvl 2 you just get a different skinned starter car and begin the whole process from scratch. You can’t even use your last car to make money faster. I assume this repeats indefinitely so while all games are a waste of time generally speaking this one really reminds of of that lol

So the game starts out like the first one which was amazing, then you figure out that you have to get to a point before you can get your next car then you realize that to get to the next car you have to upgrade everything which is not bad until you realize you have to do that for all of them this game become so predictable (you have to upgrade everything before you can get to the next car) that it becomes boring. Go back to the format you had for the first one, the whole armour thing is swell though

The 5 star ratings on this game are fake. Pay attention. This game has same level graphics. No attend to make a difference. Same zombies every level. Forces u to use the cars they assign. 6 levels per upgrade(overkill). Barely gives any money after each run so u can upgrade. Took me 3 days to pass this game with hours of nonstop game play. The new IAP system just diminishes the value of earn to die franchise. It's obvious they only made this game to get ur money and not to please the customer. Waste of money.

I used to play the computer version that came out years ago and when I saw this app version i was actually pretty excited. But they haven't done anything new, it's the same formula level after level, smash through crates and zombies and reach the end. The only thing that changes is the look of the car, other than that its just hold down the gas pedal, you don't even really have to steer, you just upgrade until your car makes it without running out of gas. It makes me genuinely sad that this game is so terrible.

At 99 cents, I guess you can’t complain as this game gives you exactly what it costs. There’s absolutely nothing you can do wrong, your choices don’t matter, close your eyes and press gas until you run out. Then press boost. Then die, then respawn and use cash to buy upgrade. Repeat. Finish level and get a new car that is basically the same as previous car (Ferrari is as fast as the A team van and can traverse heights like a sand buggy). You earn more money per level and everything costs more but again, it’s not any more or less challenging. There absolutely no strategy for this game and the physics are atrocious.

The original Earn to Die is a fantastic game. I couldn't wait to beat it and download ETD 2. But, part 2 is a carbon copy of 1, but they lost the nuances and details that made the original awesome. And at 1.99$, this seems like they are just cashing in on the success of part 1, or for some reason they didn't make this game any better or different. They actually lost most of the aspects that made part 1 so good. This game just seems like you're grinding out upgrades at a very slow pace. Part 1 was fast and exciting and in your face. Part 2 actually seems like it should've been the original and part 1 is the updated sequal. Ironic and sad.

Problems:
-not worth any amount of money
-super grindy
-vehicles feel no different
-upgrades have no noticeable difference in effect from level to level
-level 1 feels like the last level just longer
-the cost of items grows and so does the amount you earn so there really is no point to that
- everything is scaled equally so the reason for scaling in the first place is questionable

Biggest complaint
Levels get boring super fast. The only reason I played all the way through was because I wanted to unlock the extra modes which weren't fun enough to be worth going through the whole campaign. If you pay for this they should be unlocked from the start.

As kind of addicting as it is, It's enough that I paid a dollar more for this game than the original but now it's constantly trying to steal my money?! When passing a day, you get so little money to the point where you just want to BUY more money, and they don't even give you that much money to buy , $6 just for $1000000 points, it seems like a lot but with that much money you can only upgrade ALMOST all of the gadgets there ONCE ! And that's not all, they force you to use the car that they want, not you, and the "new" cars they give you are very BAD cars. The only reason why I'm still playing it is because I'm not letting go of $2. The game is very frustrating
