Will not cancel automatic renewal
Complaint Rating: 75 % with 4 votes
Company information:
Nrton/Symantec
Botswana

For 2 years I have been trying to cancel my Norton anti-virus. When my computer crashed, I was unable to re-install it, so I ended up buying a different anti-virus. Norton keeps sending me E-Mails that they're "renewing" a product I don't even have, and they keep charging me $70.00 Canadian. I never authorised automatic renewal, and I keep E-mailing them to stop. They will not acknowledge me or write back. The renewal E-Mail says you can cancel by clicking on "Cancel automatic renewal" on a drop down menu on the left, in the Norton website. But that option does not exist. If you E-Mail their customer service, you get only a standard automatic reply saying they are processing your request, but you never get an actual reply. I keep E-Mailing my bank, requesting them to stop the payment but Norton keeps getting the money anyway. Doesn't anyone know how to stop this?? Isn't it illegal?

the same thing is still happening to me. I actually got them to credit my account last year however, within 30 days they had recharged my credit card twice and the emails would not stop. I never did get a credit for those two charges but I did get them completely uninstalled from my system. Yesterday it all started all over again. Who the fuck are these people. It is almost worse then id theft.

DO NOT EMAIL THEM WITHOUT READING EVERY BOX YOU CHECK AND FILL OUT TRYING TO GET TO THEM. THAT IS HOW THEY GET YOU.

You think you are simply emailing customer service and your being scamed. Think of the millions and millions of dollars they deposit from theft. millions and millions.

They know what they are doing, they are too large of a company not to have fixed this issue. And sued as well. greed, If you are an employee of Norton you are a thief because you know the racket, they are trained to steal. I would say that 30 to 40% of there sales is theft.
