A Norton customer since 2009, I recently got a new computer which came with McAfee installed. I no longer needed my old computer or the Norton subscription, so I called to request a pro-rated refund of my annual auto-renewed subscription fee. It renewed 81 days ago. They refused to give me any money back stating that customers only have 60 days from the date of renewal to cancel.

First of all, whether i use all caps or not is my choice! second i have to use all caps for a good reason. With that being said this issue has been going on for about 2 days now so i cannot provide the date nor the time of this incident. And i need another way to file this complaint because yall do not give enough space to file the details of my issue with yall! But i will let you know this, yall sure are demanding arent yall?

I haven't had anything to do with Norton in over 6 years. Yesterday I noticed $194.99 was taken from a bank account I never gave to Norton.

I get a email thanking me for automatic renewing a subscription. I never authorised any such thing. I had previously only used Pre Paid from the store.

I contacted my bank and spoke to the fraud team who advised that Norton have a reputation of doing this to people 3 or 4 years go bye and a all of a sudden money is stolen from your bank account. How do they get my banking details. I deliberately buy only pre paid so they cant have my bank details. Being a pensioner this really left me short on funds which has caused so much stress. As a security measure my bank has closed my account down. Norton are dodgy in their dealings. I will never ever buy another product from Norton and will advise all friends and family to be aware. NORTON WILL RIP YOU OFF.

I purchased your Norton 360 from Amazon on July 26,2022 a year subscription

I was billed again from my 1st. bank account again on October 31,22 for

$113.37 Since then you have billed me on my Wells Fargo credit card for $108.19 You did not have my permission for this charge. I want it refunded back to my card as well as the October payment of $113.37. I have never thought I would be in a place where a company would keep charging without permission .

If this isn't refunded back to my account I will turn this I will turn this into our BBB

I couldn't get into my account after changing my mobile number. Norton couldn't change this for me. Norton suggested opening a new account, however Norton couldn't do this for me. Norton suggested I contact customer support via chat. Norton couldn't do this for me. Norton suggest I ring the telephone support. The telephone numbers didn't want. After many hours with "Norton Customer Support" Norton did not help. Norton refused to provide a refund. Awful. Long time customer to never returning customer.

I have an online account with Norton and had packages automatically renewed today (07/07/2023 ) without prior warning. I was emailed an invoice covering the two Norton packages I have been using for one year (Norton 360 Standard and Utilities Ultimate). I wish to keep Norton 360 Standard but I want the Utilities Ultimate to be cancelled and refunded as I do not use this enough. Invoice Reference AP1473045978.

I have been trying all day to resolve this issue online but the options available on line are not user friendly. I can't resolve it by phone as I am hard of hearing.

I would also like prior warning of future renewals.

I have had Norton installed on my computers for a few years. The reason for initially acquiring Norton was for its cloud backup capability as a I have several big files that are the product of many years of work.

My computer drive failed so I restored my files into a new drive. Many of the files were restored except for a few big files with extension .slx, .m, and .mlx. I can conclude that Norton is not capable to backup all type of files and it is not transparent about this concern.

I will have to go through an outside agency to try to recover my files from the drive that failed. I need Norton to reimburse me for any expenses associated with the recovery of my files and to compensate me for the inconvenience.

30th may 2023 requested refund of subscription after repeated requests for assistance. Third phone call after three call chats, I was promised refund t be in my account within 10 days. 15/6 contacted by phone again, claimed refund had failed. (no contact) advised that it would be another ten days. How many times will it be delayed.

I have had a case number for not being able to launch a scan on my PC for most of the year. Norton has been in my PC remotely on 3 or 4 occasions and (although promising the problem is now solved) they have not been able to resolve the situation. I am promised updates and phone calls that never happen. Every time I inquire what progress has been made, I'm told they're on it and don't worry, I'll hear something soon. I get no phone calls, I get no emails. Norton customer service is the crappiest I've ever had to endure.

On 14th May 2023 I talked to a person from Norton Support. After a long wait to connect.

The person renewed my subscription for 12 Months.

Ever since that call i have no access to my passwords !

When i try to login it tries to create a new vault.

I have over 50 passwords and need them to access my Bank Accounts, Pay Bills, check medical refunds, etc.

It has caused an extreme inconvenience and i am concerned who has access to my passwords.

I have connected to Norton support several times and have honestly spent about 5 hours with them trying to get access to my passwords.

They have escalated the fault to level 2, which could not fix it.

Now it has been escalated to software support.

Every time i connect via chat and finish unresolved they tell me somone will call me back in the next 48 to 72 hours, so i have to wait again.

Several times i have organized a call back time and nobody calla or even. updates me with progress info.

The phone number is always busy.

i am desperate to get my passwords back as it is severely impacting my ability to function in an online world.

I trusted and paid for Norton to look after confidential information, and they have failed.

My expiry date is listed as 04/07/2023. On the 19th of February 2023 you graciously offered me a 60 extension. Which should mean my expiry date is 01/09/2023.

Tried to contact via chat but will not connect. Suggests that lack of connection is due to my cookie preferences. Much to my annoyance I have changed my browser preferences to allow cookies and third party cookies. Still cant get through.

I am being constantly harassed to change my stored card information and threaten with immediate lose of protection. I have been a customer for over twenty years. It seems to me they are trying to making contact with them very difficult. It is a shame but I must consider alternatives after being a long term customer.

I can’t be specific because all I see is $83 charge from Norton. That’s all it says. When I called them they gave me the runaround and they want a transaction number and I can give it to them because my bank doesn’t give me transaction numbers they have brought me $83. I don’t use their service. I have a McAfee that comes with my T-Mobile account. Can you please assist me I need my money back I want Social Security and it’s horrible. I will tell you that the charges on May 4 12:30 pm

I bought a year of Norton VPN but after a couple of months it stopped working. After literally hours and hours on the phone with ostensible tech experts in India, I got no help to fix it. I then wanted to cancel the service and get my pro-rated money back but they refused — just kept giving me empty promises that they could fix the problem. It is ridiculous. There are many excellent VPNs available — don't get Norton.

I have two utility programs on my PC, Norton Utilities 16 and Norton Utilities Premium. I have been using these programs for many, many years. They were paid for and provided as stand-alone programs with no updates. I still have receipts! Norton issued an update for my Norton 360 program this week and as a result codes were sent to each of these programs and both were deactivated and will no longer function. Knowing that this was an intentional and illegal act by Norton, I have saved the information regarding the update that caused this action and have sent copies to a friend who will do a follow up for possible fraud. I have no choice in taking these actions because Norton has taken what is lawfully mine. This action is also a violation of Norton’s own policies! Unless there is a replacement program provided to replace those that were disabled Norton has committed a serious crime. I will close my Norton account later next week when my new software arrives. How do you sleep at night?

Legal Notification - One

A couple of months ago, I had a glitch in my computer and my antivirus protection came up missing. I have been with BullGuard for years (and very happy with them), while trying to reinstall BullGuard, I was informed that BullGuard and Norton had migrated. There had been no communication about this previously. I was made to download Norton. A few days ago I noticed charges trying to be taken out of my bank account from Norton. Today I called [protected], I asked about the charges and asked if Norton and BullGuard were affliated. I was told no and that I was scammed. I asked about the charges coming out, told again that it was Norton. I even read the email. Yes I got upset, she told me to call back and talk to someone else. I called back went over everything again. Just to be lied to and then told to call another number to have the account cancelled, but that I wasn't being charged.

I called the next number and found out yes I was being charged, I ddn't even know that anything was going to be charged. I then asked again about Norton/BullGuard and told yes they did merge.

So I have been lied to by two of your representatives. I informed the 3rd representive I would not want to stay with a company that has employees who lie to customers. Also I was told my subscription was good until June 17th but yall were trying to take money out a month in advance with no prior notification.

Hello - I purchased this subscription several years ago and it has been installed on my computer - I am just learning today - after getting unusual requests to purchase the product when I am using the scan program - to purchase lifelock... finally, today - I had a few hours to waste - and investigated with multiple people in Norton customer support - I have been told the following by your support people (who do not have very good english) :

1. I do not have an active subscription - asked to speak to supervisor

2. Spoke to next person - identified themselves first as Justin, then later in the conversation Laquinda - again - poor speaking habits -

3. opened a ticket [protected]- agreeing that I do not have a subscription and kept asking to remote into my computer - but did state he does not work for norton - I kept asking for someone who works for norton

4. After 15 mins on hold (yes I did wait that long) Ruchika comes on the phone, tells me she works for Norton - after several questions, she finally admits she does not work for the company - but said I do have all the programs I am paying for installed - and puts me on hold again.. - this time she disconnected me,... cute... really professional - disconnecting an upset customer -

My Complaint - in addition to the poor customer service - I have been paying for Norton 360- with Lifelock - but it is not active when I scan - Please advise and also refund the money I paid for this service for the past two years...

I got Password Manager a couple of years ago, and it worked without issues for a while. Over time, I stored hundreds of encrypted notes and passwords on the app. Upon enabling access to my Vault, I enabled biometric verification through my iPhone, as recommended by Norton. That way, I could access my Vault using my fingerprint rather than having to remember a password (after all, that's the whole purpose of users not wanting to keep track of passwords by having a Password Manager). One day, my Password Manager kicked me out and asked me to log back in. At that point, there was no longer an option to use biometric authentication. The option simply vanished. I contacted customer service and they told me my only option was to either "remember my password" or "destroy the vault." The issue with the app should not be a deterrent to me having access to my data. I have multiple products by Norton, and I will cancel all of my subscriptions if this doesn't get resolved. Not surprisingly, I have found multiple posts of Norton Password Manager users online, who are reporting the exact same issue. Norton users don't have a voice through customer service and are simply told they will have to deal with their data loss, even though it is entirely the Company's fault.

Norton has been ripping me off for months/YEARS. I'm gathering receipts and order numbers to send to my lawyer. A few years ago I found that Norton had 2 email addresses for me. I called them and went through a horribly long process of letting them know I have just ONE email that my Norton account should be associated with and remove the other. As far as I knew this was done and I was all set.

Last week, YEARS later I find that not only did Norton still had 2 email addresses, but they had 2 ACCOUNTS for me when I thought I had only 1 because that's ALL I NEED as one person with only 3 devices. They also had another credit card I never authorized which they were charging the other account from.

I contacted them and they acted like they had nothing to do with this. They escalated it to someone who called me to tell me they would reimburse me $100 (which was only the last double payment they took from me). That was yesterday when they basically said sorry... yeah we've been ripping you off for years and we'll give you $100 back. I quickly uninstalled their software, went to a competitor solution and am getting in touch with my lawyer to pursue this legally. Unbelievable. Norton was charging me twice a year for 2 accounts and I thought I had one account as that's all I need with 2 devices. Totally rip-off company. Don't walk away, run and go to competitor solution.

I was not told that there would be any costs involved and find that you are invoicing me to the value of $652.89 (£529).

Can you please cancel the transaction and return any money you have removed from my account, asap!

I am a retired 84 year old pensioner, the money you propose to take from me, is our living expenses for a month.

I feel that Norton have 'conned' me out of this money and if they do not cancel the transaction, will take my business elsewhere"!

My wife , who is also in her 80's, and I are very, very upset by the whole 'mess'.

I'm beyond pissed! Two days of my life wasted on the phone for hours.

I'm supposed to request for this service every 90 days (manually) even though it's paid for a year. It tells me to submit my request by 4/11/2023 and does not allow me. They tell me to wait and still not working. 24 hours have passed and now the option to submit the request is available but now I can't load my ID and submit the 90 day request. How disappointing! I've talked to multiple people by now, they have remote access to my laptop and they can't get this crap to work. I have been on the phone for over 5 hours all together. The last time I allowed my 90 days to exceed without submitting a request, Norton released my entire info to the WWW. They provide no reminders, emails, texts, nothing! I don't know why I'm paying for this if I'm doing all the leg work. I'm going to start shopping for a different company. The program works great most of the time, I don't understand why it's so complicated to get it going. Why must upload my personal ID every 90 days? You don't save such important information? You save everything else!

And lastly, I understand Norton wants to save pennies by outsourcing to other countries but if there is a language barrier what's the point. Wonderful, sweet and kind people but we can't communicate effectively with each other, and understand. Nothing has been resolved and all I'm told to do is wait! How sad Norton! I was expecting better from you!
