scammed me!
Lifetime fitness scammed me. I prepaid minneapolis lifetime fitness $720 for a package of 12 personal training sessions. I used 2 of the sessions and then requested a refund for the unused sessions because of some extenuating circumstances. I contacted the personal trainer about a refund and he told me I could have a refund for the unused sessions and that...

All of you idiots that complain about lifetime fitness should read your contract before you sign! You all deserve what you get for being ignorant and stupid...
thanks russ for the big blow!
I applied for a job on-line as a towel desk attendant at the Woodbury center. Russ, the manager of Operations, called me and asked for a short phone interview. After talking to him a few minutes, he asked me to come in and have an in person interview. About three weeks later, he called and left a message on voice mail, saying to give him a call back. I called three times, he never did return my call. I ran into him at the club about four weeks after the interview. I said Hi, and asked him if he got my messages. He said "Yes I did, but I'm sorry,... but I just don't feel that you have the WOW factor" He really emphasized the wow. Why did he even bother to call me and ask me to call him back? It has been hard for me to bring myself back there, due the fear of running into him again. He really knows how to bring down a person's self esteem. Since when does a person have to be beautiful to fold towels and clean the locker room anyway! This guy the biggest jerk of all jerks! Thanks RUSS for the big blow!

Lifetime Fitness loves to workout your wallet.
The customer comes last.
Every contract is designed to milk every ounce of money out of the customer.
Contracts are designed to make quitting the club nearly impossible (you must send a certified letter or show up in the club). Red tape = more lifetime money

Dagny Taggert - you show your ignorance of MN law. MN IS a state where an employer can discharge an employee at will - just as an employee can leave at will. Go look up the law.
Don't let it get you down - most of these people that work at clubs are of very limited intelligence. Believe me, I've worked for Northwest and Lifetime and they are not the sharpest blades in the drawer.
I worked for FCA construction, a subsidiary of LTF in charge of architecture and construction. I interacted with Braham on a weekly basis - he was often loud and somewhat aggressive, but at the end of the day this is his life's passion and he takes it very seriously.
In response to the way LTF treats workers - I think the "Wiser than the average Bear" is a disgruntled ex-employee that is not in any way representing the experience most people had at LifeTime. I can say that everyone in our department was paid above industry standard wages and we were given numerous perks like flexible PTO, Free Family Gym Membership, Stock Purchase, 401K, insurance... I don't think that I was taken advantage of, and I don't think anyone in my department (50+ people) would argue that sentiment.
Additionally, they will not fire you on the spot. I am well aware of the hiring/firing process as I was partly responsible for both in my department - you are written up formally several times before the firing process even begins. Furthermore, in MN you can't be fired without cause, we are not an at-will state...
Regardless, I haven't worked there in over 2 years. I left willingly to pursue a different career path, but LTF was an amazing place to work. The motto "Healthy way of Life" was something that I do believe that they took seriously and I do believe that they treated their employees with a great amount of respect. I would also like to add that I am a female - and while you will always encounter misogyny in construction - I believe I was treated with ample respect in the clubs and at the corporate office.
LifeTime Fitness is owned by the biggest piece of [censor] known as Brahm Akradi. One might think he would be a tad bit humbled coming from where he did...cleaning up [censor] and washing your towels at a previous workout facility; it's true...he makes sure you know his story (part of the hiring requirment). Anyway, do not feel bad that you were not hired; the new policy is to only hire idiots so they can get the most out of you, take everything from you, while giving nothing in return. One thing to know is that they will fire you on the spot wthout warning only to fill positions with their friends. The men in power at that facility hate the female species especially if you hold any power. Everyone is disposable at that club. I know any employee that gave his/her all for well over a decade and that job was lifted rigth from under his/her feet...YOU are DISPOSABLE at LTF. You neither want to work there nor be a member because that whole Organization sucks and they do NOT stand behind what that teach/preach. Also, BA has a penis implant...
Most fitness club (especcially Lifetime) hiring managers are very discriminating, if they don't think of you as someone they would have sex with or that would boost their sales they usually will not even think of hiring you, yes they are jerks especcially this guy that interviewed you, they think they are better than everyone else and try to cut people down, don't let it get to you.
I have been a fitness trainer in Dallas, TX since the late 80's, it used to be that fitness clubs were not so discriminating, now they discriminate against, gender, race, length of hair/ hair style and especcially against age, sex and disabilities, they violate the whole discrimination laws of the EEOC,
I am degreed, have several certifications, positive attitude, very well built and still get discriminated against at Lifetime and other facilities because I am over 45.
I suggest that you get on Lifetime's job email list and apply again, record all they say, if you cannot do this over the phone ask for personal interview, find an employment attorney, file a complaint with EEOC and file a law suit against life time (for at least a years pay). they will be forced to hire you plus you will be awarded a years pay, the hiring manager will be fired and it will go on his record, he will never work in fitness clubs again. I suggest talking to an employment attorney first to find your best plan of action.
I plan on doing this also.
lack of supervision!
I am looking for parents who have had problems with a lack of supervision at the daycare center at Lifetime Fitness. I am particularly interested in anyone who has had problems with the daycare at the Maryland gym location.
We became members of Lifetime fitness six months ago and the first day we put our 3 yr. old child into their daycare our son was bitten in the face by a child who had a history of aggressive behavior and who had bitten at least one other child. The staff allowed my unknowing son to go into a "tunnel" tent like thing alone with this other child (knowing this child had a history of biting) and my son was bitten. My son had a nasty large bruise on his face for months after that.
Then yesterday my son got kicked in the face by an older kid who was trying to push him down a slide and gave my son a nosebleed. The staff tried to deny that anyone hurt my son and said my son gave himself the nosebleed which I know is not true. My son was able to identify the child that hurt him. The staff obviously was not paying attention and did not see what happened.
I have complained to the daycare supervisor and the supervisor for the entire gym and have not felt reassured in any manner that my son would be safe in their care. Their adult child ratio is 1:12 and I often times see one person watching more than 12 kids.
I also have seen numerous potentially dangerous incidents that could have resulted in serious injury of a child due to a lack of supervision. Young children climbing on tables and falling off. I watched a toddler climb up cubby holes and crawl into a cubby and the staff had no awareness of what this child was doing. I had to get a staff member to get the toddler out because she was crying and would have hurt herself if she tried to get out on her own.
If you or anyone you know has had any problems with the quality of the daycare being provided at Lifetime Fitness then please contact me.
Requested to close an acount, but LifeTime continue to charge a fee, threatening me with with Collection service. I finally pay them just to stop this madness. Well, if you think, to join LifeTime, there "exit ticket". I find this is very mob-like business practice.
I agree with many of the sentiments here. Tonight. While picking up my children, there was an unsupervised infant in a walker that he was too small for just sobbing. A few six year olds were trying to console h, but that was not their job. All the attendants were too busy doing close down procedures. It can get crazy in there, and they never do organized stuf every 1/2 hour like their schedule says they do. They look overworked and upset most of the time. Lifetime needs to increase the quality of their care for children.
Parker, CO club
Our kids often reported being hit, kicked, other kids asking my daughter to pull her pants down.. I tried to work with Aaron (child care director?) and he was so rude and insensitive that I walked away from the conversation FUMING. I once reported a pretty dirty locker room and received a ton of apologies, commitments to improve, on and on.. Then I try talking to them about keeping my kids safe and I get rude insensitive jerks! Please think twice about leaving your kids here. Its unsafe, unsupervised, unfriendly, and flat out dangerous. Read the reviews.. I'm not alone here. Never again, I don't care if they paid me..
All true. I've seen a child hitting another and no adult looking at them. My daughter is only 10 months old and whenever I get there she is crying a lot. Babies are always in the chairs crying all the time. I believe the biggest problem is that there are only children working there. They don't show themselves to be responsible people to take care of other children. The only reason I chose this gym is because of the daycare and unfortunately I'm not feeling comfortable there. The people who work there in the morning are undoubtedly much more responsible And at least 2 other people
Hi, I am a lifetime fitness kids activities team member. I see that most of the issues that parents are concerned with involve the staff. Unfortunately lifetime only offers team members minimum wage and does not offer scheduled raises. Raises are based on performance. I have been working at life time for over a year now and I have received three raises in that year. There are employees who have been there much longer that have yet to receive a pay increase. I have over 5 years of experience working with children and I am always enthusiastic and energetic. At my particular location management does a great job assessing employee performance and dealing with any issues parents or children may have. I receive positive compliments almost daily from both parents and management regarding my performance and engagement with the kids. Although lifetime strives to maintain high quality programs through each of its locations, the sad truth is that quality can greatly decrease from just one or two poor employees. I would not sell the child center short until you have tried a different location. There are 3 locations within a 10-15 mile radius in my state, so I hope you have the option to try a different club. Try contacting corporate for any issues that are not being resolved at your specific location, it may take some time, but lifetime truly does care about member feedback and addressing member issues.
I don't know about you guys but the Lifetime Fitness in Las Vegas is well-renown for its child care program. The staff members are friendly, helpful, and most importantly, know how to watch kids. They organize activities every thirty minutes and its continuous. Not once have I gone in and have seen kids fighting or just hanging out nor have I with their staff. My child loves going everyday and I have seen her develop tremendously since the club opened in April. I'm particularly impressed with the relationships my daughter has made with team members. She loves coming back to the club to play games with them especially in the gym where one time the staff was even instructing her on how to hit a baseball or kick a kickball! They know exactly what they are doing although most of them look too young to have gone through college. I'm proud to be a member of this club as well as my wife and we love how the child center is run. I recommend this club at least if you come to Las Vegas.
I have taken my children (3yo & 5yo) twice to their child care center. No problems so far. There was a time when I was at a park with them and closely watching. A little kid climbing a ladder above my 3yo shoved her foot in my kids face. I was there...watching. You think you can control other kids even if you're there?!
My husband and I joined a Lifetime Fitness in VA, last week. The gym itself is great, but I feel the need to write a review of their child care, or lack thereof. We have three teenage daughters using the membership with us, and a son who will be 2 in May. When we went to check out the club, we dropped our son off at the child care center, so we could tour the gym and go over all the paperwork. There was a woman manning the front desk and two more in the play area. I took our son into the play area, and waited for one of the attendants to introduce themselves to him. Neither of them ever did. They simply didn't care that he was there. My poor little guy just stood there looking at us. I didn't want to leave him like that, neither did my husband or the girls. The salesman kept telling us he would be fine. We asked if one of our teenage daughters could stay with him, since no one there seemed to have any intention of interacting with him. They told us no, because all the girls were over twelve. My husband and I looked at each other, and we were both thinking the same thing, that we would just take him with us, but then the salesman kept saying, "Oh, he'll be all right, we won't be gone long, it's tighter than Fort Knox in here, yadda, yadda, yadda..." Reluctantly, we left our son there. After about a half an hour, we came back to check on him and he was indeed fine. He had found a little friend to play with and this put my mind slightly at ease. Due to some computer problem, the paperwork took over an hour to complete. We finally went back to get our son, and he was still doing fine. However, we all noticed that again, none of the workers were interacting with any of the children. There really weren't that many children there at the time, so I am unsure why they weren't playing with them. A few days later, one of my daughters and I decided to go work out. We took our little guy to the child care area. On this occasion he started to cry a bit, because he didn't want me to leave. There were two workers and neither made an attempt to come talk to him or reassure him that everything would be all right. I made a point of saying to one of them, "Hi, This is my son, "so and so" . One of them briefly acknowledged me with a nod of her head, then continued to carry on a conversation with her co-worker, while straightening up the area. I noticed a little girl about a year old sitting on the ground, quietly sobbing, with tears dripping down her face. As a mother, I wanted to pick her up and console her, but I knew it wouldn't be appropriate. (I know I wouldn't want to come in and find some stranger holding my child.) Still, none of the workers paid any attention to her or any of the other children. Just like the first day we went, there weren't very many children there. At the time, I think there were about five, including my son. Again, I felt conflicted about leaving him in their care. I finally got him to play with some toys and I was able to leave. My daughter and I worked out for an hour, and when we came back he was having fun, playing by himself in the outdoor area, kicking a ball around. By this time there must have been thirty or more kids and only two attendants. It was very chaotic. One attendant was sitting on the ground, and to my surprise, was actually interacting with a few of the children, however, the other one was walking around aimlessly. I was glad that my son was having fun, but it was clear that there was not proper supervision taking place at this establishment. With a group of children that large, and a staff that doesn't pay attention to the kids, there are a lot of things that could go wrong. There was also a big age difference among the children playing outside. There were kids who looked to be as old as ten, all the way down to little ones like my son. In this type of setting, it's just a matter of time before something bad happens. I worked at a Mother's Day Out in TX for four years, and the children were always separated by age groups. All of us interacted with each of the children. When I drop my son off at the nursery in church, someone always comes to greet him and tries to engage him in some type of activity. This is what I expect to happen and I don't think it is unreasonable. I don't understand the lack of interest these child care workers have in the children. The place is staffed, but there is no way they can watch and play with that many kids, or take care of the individual needs of children varying in such different ages. This place truly is just a "drop off center". Children, especially the young ones, need to know that they can trust the people taking care of them. Trust is built through spending time together. I need to know I can trust someone to take care of my child. This place does not instill a feeling of security in me. It stinks, because I was really looking forward to being able to work out, and not having to worry about my son's well being. My husband and I decided that we aren't going to use the child care center unless we absolutely have to. When my son gets older, quite a bit older, I don't think it will be as big of an issue, but for now he is too young to be able to stand up for himself, and he ACTUALLY NEEDS someone to take care of him. I have been a mother for 21 years, a youth worker for 16, and I have taken care of other people's children since I was a teenager. Believe me when I say this, I know what I am talking about when it comes to the needs of children. This place is severely lacking in the proper care and supervision of children, and if all Lifetime's gyms are like this, I would not recommend their Child Care Service for anyone who has children under the age of five.
Tehy left my son unattended in the pool during the parents night out program
We've been a member for a little over a week. Of the 5 times I've been in- 2 times I was extremely anxious about their "child care" area. This is a platinum club, in Allen/McKinney TX. The first time I saw a 3 yr old fall about 5 feet off the playground onto his face because the "supervisor" was running around with a little girl on her back. (She was too busy playing to do her job)
The second time was yesterday- when I overheard a panicky manager talk on his walkie talky. "Code 100 in child center" he said... When I asked what was going on- I was told a boy hit his head on the playground and the paramedics were on the way...
I emailed the club today and told them they need to get their staff to be more proactive at preventing accidents than just responding to them... If they don't listen, they'll lose another customer...
It will all catch up with LIFETIME FITNESS. I think it is already, I have had two mailers "$0 to join". They don't care how it is ran! It is the numbers!
30 day bogus cancellation policy
I have been a member of Lifetime Fitness for over a year and I went to cancel my membership because I am moving. Well, they told me that they have a 30 day cancellation policy and I will have to pay for the next month anyway. Now, why should I pay for a service that I will not be here to use and why should I care about their cancellation policy?
I will not pay this! I will notify my credit card company to cancel their automatic withdrawal, and it they don't then I will cancel my credit card too and write a complaint about them.
Hope this helps. Take care.
I also was just scammed into paying for a month I won’t use. I told them my heart is enlarged to please pause the membership. They charged me the month instead of the 15 pause. They told me that they had no notice of my pause. I told them to go ahead and cancel my membership. I’m having a health issue. I sent in documentation of that and they still wanted to charge me for the month I wouldn’t be able to use the gym. I’ve have been using the gym for over five years. I will never go back to them. They could’ve shown courtesy, instead they lost a family membership.
everyone in here are so lame, wow you signed a contract and have to pay to cancel ...how awful...one person said its so hard because you have to go there to cancel it?!? don't you go there everyday anyway? and I just cancelled and it was exactly what I thought - one more month of dues...as was explained to me when I signed up...
you are the same people that complain your coffee was too hot too I am guessing...
babies
Does this go on our credit report if we dont pay them? no right?
Im on the same problem, I moved from New Jersey to Austin and did not pay the extra month they wanted me to pay, I cancelled my debit card, and they are emailing me about the charges, now my question is, if we dont pay, does this go to our credit report? This would suck if it did...
I was aware of the 30 day cancellation policy and also of all the issues other members have had when canceling their membership. In order to avoid additional charges past the 30 days, I went ahead and requested a new debit card. Despite this, they made several failed attempts to charge my previous card (I know because each time they attempted they sent me an email telling me there was a problem with my billing), but eventually managed to get my new debit card number and charge my account anyway. I called my bank, who advised that as a "courtesy" VISA had provided them with my new debit card number because they were able to prove this had been a recurring charge. Of course I filed a dispute, but it's disturbing to know that a business can provide another business my private billing information (as a "courtesy") without my consent or even attempting to contact me to verify this.
My husband went to the club and signed our family up for a membership. He explained to the woman that this would only be for 3 months and he will pay ahead. She said that would be fine and proceeded to take his credit card information. He made it very clear that this would only be for 3 months. Again she said that was fine and he would be charged for that time. The sales woman never said anything to him about the cancellation policy. Well after that 3 months was up there was a charge on his card. He called and complained with no avail and told them he no longer wanted this membership. He will eat the charge just cancel. Again he was not told about the cancellation policy. A month later another charge. After calling every name he could get someone finally told him about the cancellation policy. Now I fully understand that my husband should have read the contract better but does that mean bad business ethics are okay? There was enough opportunity for someone to disclose this policy to him and they didn't. The only work out we got from this club was in our wallets. Stay away from Lifetime Fitness. They aren't interested in good business. They aren't interested in you. All Lifetime fitness is interested in is your money. Whether they should get it or not. As long as they have your credit card number you will be charged!
Be aware that Lifetime Fitness require members to notify submit a written notice 30 day in advance in order to cancel membership. Their position is "we have your credit card number, we have your signature (they obviously did not stress this line in the membership agreement), we will rob you of your next month fees because we can.
I talked with the club manager and a few customer service reps, they were all polite and agreed that "yes, we will charge you because we can, this is our policy". Think about it, they were telling me that they were going to steal my money simply because they had my credit card number and they ddin't even understand that they should be ashamed of themselves.
Lifetime Fitness is an awful company. I'm currently dealing with a similar situation in trying to cancel and being strong-armed into paying for another month...seriously, it takes 7 weeks for my cancellation to go into effect?!?! They just want to squeeze every last dime out of you and bank on the fact that 99% of their members forget the cancellation policy and then are forced to pay another exorbitant monthly fee. I've been a member for 5 years and this is how they treat me. Not good business. Do a quick search of "Lifetime Fitness cancellation policy" and you'll see hundreds of complaints. I understand there are contracts in place for a reason, but the world isn't black and white and they should have the flexibility to help a customer out when the situation calls for it. There are too many gyms out there to waste your time with one that cares so little about their customers.
Such shameful business practices.
#LifetimefitnessFAIL
Had the WORST experience terminating - changed jobs and needed to be closer to home. Notified them via email sept 30, paid October bill and then closed debit card because they were INSISTING that I had to COME IN THERE to sign some stupid form - and I can't, I work! I told them legally my email should suffice (and it should) and now they are HOUNDING me for payment and sending me threatening letters! PLUS legally the contract was breached when they raised my rates 3 times in the year I joined!
The 30 day policy and the fact that they make it difficult to cancel (going there in person or sending certified mail) is a scam. Many companies apply the 30 day policy, which they double (I cancelled today June 2 an they will get money till July 31st), but an email should suffice. I would be so happy to sue this company, and a class action suit would be appropriate. Don't have much experience about that though...Will investigate, but if someone can take this over it would be fantastic. Bad business should be suppressed.
child care center does not care
My family and I joined Lifetime about six months ago and we have decided that enough was enough and we cancelled our membership.
We mainly joined so my wife and I could workout together and our children could have fun in the child care center that boasts a computer room, jungle gym, basketball court and play area with tv. We were told when we signed up that they would have access to all the child care amenities and we thought it would be great.
Well, after many visits we have come to the conclusion that the child care center only opens the computer room or jungle gym when they decide to properly staff the center.
Which was NEVER. It came apparent after several visits in a row, when my children were told they cannot use jungle gym. They would be upset and I always got a run around as to why it was closed. If the jungle gym was open they would close down the computer room. Why do I pay for something they never can use!
They never mentioned this when I signed up. It is a scam, they make you believe you are getting this great child care center but in reality you are only able to use a portion of it.
Andrenalyn, If you swear at them they will cancel your membership immediately and refund any prepaid activity!
That sucks. There Customer Service and sales guys could care less about you too! Lifetime Fitness is a joke! Well whatever you do, make sure you cancel by the 5th, or the charge you for 2 whole months if you don't! I've got my own issues with them, which you can read about in comments section of the 30 day cancellation policy thread. To anyone thinking about Lifetime Fitness, do yourselves a favor and run. Run as far as you can! If you don't, be prepared to be screwed over by them. Lifetime Fitness is a rip off.
child care and pool facilities are fake!
Lifetime advertises this wonderful childcare facilities and fell for it! What they do not tell you is when the child care is slow they close down the climbing gym or computer room for the children!
So when we go my daughter is told she cannot play on the climber! She left crying and the next day on the way to the gym she kept asking over and over again will she be able to play on the climber . After, weeks of them limiting what the children can use and play with I got fed up and complained.
The manager did not care and said that we do not staff when it is slower (25 or less children) so I was out of luck.
Lifetime falsely advertises the child care. That is what sold me to join, so my daughter can have a great time while I work out. However, she is left sad and crying.
I cancelled my membership and joined a gym that was less expensive and follows through with what they promise.
Keep your kids home! We don't want to listen to your brats, nor do we want their #### filled diapers in our pool. Lifetime "FITNESS" is a place to workout, not play with your kids. Take them to a water park instead! Personally, I'd pay double the price I currently pay, to have it 21 and over. A nice clean and modern atmosphere, comes at a price people If you can't afford it, WORK HARDER at life, or go PLAY at the facility within your trailer park.
Internet forums and social media give people like you a false sense of hope...you think you can bravely say anything without running the risk of getting punched in the mouth. Little do you know...all things catch up to you one way or another. Be proud of your low class post...for now...😈😈👿
Work harder ? Machine man sounds like a dead beat job .. [censored]ing poser. Go f your self and get of off here. People want reviews not your opinion on kids . Sometimes kids can not be lefts at home! And mom needs a small break every now and then .
[censor] lifetime fitness, the pools are always closed "due to lightning" whenever there's a storm a couple of miles away. Even though the skies are clear outside they won't let you use the pool.
My lifetime in Algonquin, IL sent me home twice for forgetting the new form that they are now requiring when I bring my friend's daughter with me (who is also a member). They refuse to just keep the form on file since the child is a friend of my daughter's and comes with us quite a bit. They also won't allow kids under 12 anywhere in the fitness center after 8pm. My daughter needs to work on her cardio for her asthma (doctor's orders) and can't because they won't let her in the work-out area AT ALL, they won't let her in the pool with me after 8pm, and they don't have the rock wall open that late. I don't get home from work until about 6pm, so 7:30 is about as early as I can get to Lifetime on weeknights. I pay a lot of money for them to put so many restrictions on my and my kids!
I need to find a different health club that will provide more for my kid than lifetime claims to!
It will all catch up with LIFETIME FITNESS. I think it is already, I have had two mailers "$0 to join". They don't care how it is ran! It is the numbers!
Has to be your gym. Just like the Warrenville club the one here in Omaha keeps all area open regardless of the "population" at the time. And in regards to $6... This is more than reasonable. try to find another facility that gives you everything life time does for $6 a month. You could always pay a babysitter $10/day to watch your kids at home if $6/month is too much. I love the club and could not be happier.
Tammy in Omaha.
Must have been your LTF. The daycare in my facility has the computer area open even if there is one child playing. I have been there at times that there were 5 kids in the room. This was in Warrenville, IL. My beef is with the $6 per child fee increase they are imposing on every family membership!
Life time sucks they dont care, never go to the salon they say all natural products, no they not, i had bad scalp danderfiff, when i came from there, and when i complained the manager he was so rude to me, i canceled my membership and will never go back there
stay away from lifetime fitness!
I'm assuming this is the normal way of submitting a complaint about a "Scam", and apologize if I'm doing so incorrectly.
My situation involves "Lifetime Fitness", - an "upscale", overpriced fitness facility chain with has locations throughout the United States.
Initially, (months ago), I reluctantly activated my membership in Austin, Texas. I use the word "reluctantly" because of the fact that a co-worker of mine, who was an active member and had recommended the club, was paying an overall lesser monthly fee that what I was quoted at the time of sign up. Guessing that he had signed up on some sort of "special", as many of the salesmen often call it, inquired about my new membership anyway.
During my initial conversation with the Lifetime salesman, I specifically asked about using more than one location, - primarily San Antonio and Austin. He informed me that there would be an additional monthly fee, but it would be possible. I elected not to has a "muti-location" account, because the "basic" monthly package's monthly fee would be in excess of $50. (!) (The higher monthly rates were justified by indoor water slides, overpriced sandwich shops, etc. - None of which I had a use for.) I also inquired about a couple of different scenarios. One of the scenarios would be the situation were if I relocated my residence to San Antonio. If I use the SA location, and the SA location alone, would my monthly rates increase? The salesman stated that they would not.
Fast forward to this month: After inquiring to not only their SA location, but Lifetime's Austin location as well, they have firmly stared that my monthly fees would increase, for USING SAN ANTONIO ONLY, not Austin. I've been to the SA gym, and it's the exact, same lay out. - Explain the rationale. I even suggested that I add a member to my membership, But they required more "processing fess" (money upfront) and over $100 per month!
Needless to say, I abruptly canceled my membership. I will contact all of my associates, -personal and professional, and urge them to do they same. I will also inform anyone who inquires, as I am often approached, to STAY AWAY FROM LIFETIME FITNESS.
Deep cleaning needed in steam room and showers, it smells. Concern of fungus germs in damp, dark spaces should be deep cleaned at least weekly; turned off, hosed and scrubbed thoroughly. Growth of mould is breeding used by multiple people. More attention needed towards wiping, disinfecting, floors, walls and sitting surfaces daily. I love lifetime
I've been applying for job after jobs for your company and it been a month and my statues is still active why is that i feel as if you are not constant but it makes not sense because you guys send job alerts but still no statues change
still keeping my head up .
I had to cancel my gym membership because I didn't want to drive 26 miles to the metro west location in Framingham/Natick
Please, either Shrewsbury, Northborough, or Worcester
Life time lakeville, MN Front desk employee her name is Amber.
She is very impolite to member.
Manager MUST need to training her how polite to members.
This person is the most rudest person on the planet, I asked to speak to their manager because I didn't like their attitude and tone and he totally refused. You pple need to treat your customers as you would like to be treated
This company stole money from
My account and will not return it
I join Lifetime in 2011. The place was nice and clean. After a few years the place was going down hill. The price increase every year from $55 to $74 in 2017. My car was broken into when I was park in from of the building. The cameras at the place did not record. Why have camera in the first place. Lockers can be easily be broken into by asking a worker to open up a locker without proof it's your stuff. They stop being a 24 hour gym and the place got too crowded. A lot of people don't return weights back and trainers do crossfit on walk ways. I finally canceled Lifetime Fitness and pay $25 for LA Fitness for almost the same thing. I know LA Fitness is not the best place to workout but I rather spend $25 then $74.
My car was burglarized during broad daylight 12:30pm 1/15/2021 my car was also parked in front of the entrance the GM refused to look into to it or corporate with the authorities, it’s almost sounded like the GM had something to do with the burglary claimed cameras didn’t record clearly due to rain then he abruptly terminated my membership after I witnessed him watching thru surveillance cameras women working out (zoomed in) while I was in his office discussing about my burglary and his name is Josh Gibbons lifetime in Iowa I am certain the headquarters has no knowledge of what he has been doing! Please someone need to look into it ASAP. He’s the new GM and very unprofessional with terrible customer service! He absolutely doesn’t represent what lifetime stands for.
Life Time is thinly veiled as a great place to improve your health and life; the truth is that Life Time is only interested in your money and how much you spend. When you check in to the club, they have a star system that rates you from 0-5 stars. If you're what they call a "member that isn't worth retaining" you will be given 0-1 stars, and this is based on how much you've spent in the club, minus anything yo purchase in the cafe.
They are expanding across the country, but only open clubs in areas where the median income is around $150, 000.00 because they need more and more money to fuel the ongoing plans.
If you talk to employees that work on their pyramid scheme commission system, then you'll see how Life Time makes good money. In the past, Life Time was able to avoid paying employees overtime (I worked 67 hours one week) by using some really tricky time allocation thing. I can't really explain it, but they did it.
The equipment and facilities aren't all that great. They just buy expensive treadmills to confuse and delight the members that they're tricking.
So unethical:-( we need to vote lifetime of this island ASAP
I try to cancel my membership for over 6 months. I have leave to Europe for my job and they don't want to cancel it just keep charging my credit cards. Have to replace my credit cards. Couple weeks ago I received a call from corporate office they asked me to make 150$ and that's it. I made that one time payment. After that they charged that credit card for 315$ without my authorization it's total #### it's legal money extortion !
First they force you to take membership by saying it's a free trial
They sign you up for personal training.
And even after you quit, they keep billing you until you finally block the merchant from your credit card.
Extremely Bad
these guys are crooks, the owner is a shady Ethiopian/kenyan guy!
Join at your own risk
Let’s vote him off this island for his greed

It will all catch up with LIFETIME FITNESS. I think it is already, I have had two mailers "$0 to join". They don't care how it is ran! It is the numbers!
The people running this place have a long way to go. Sadly, like all corporate run companies, they only care about the money to keep running. All the employees are disposable, if the bottom dollar isn't met or exceeded.
They claim member loyalty is most important but it's the dollar that fuels the beast.
Money makes the world go round.
Idiots are the ones NOT speaking out against this company. As an employee, I'm doing everything I can to break free from this horribly misrepresented company. Better way of life my ###!
These people are not idiots! They are consumers who were scammed through loop holes! The people at Lifetime really need a business ethics class. Nobody deserves to be deceived out of their money.
Whoever wrote that we are idiots for not reading our contracts must work for Lifetime.
My husband went to Lifetime to purchase a membership for the family but told the sales representative that he was going to pay up for three months. Once the three months was over it would be up to me to continue. The rep told him that was fine. Never said anything about the cancellation policy. Never said anything about charging his credit card once the three month period was up. When my husband saw the charges that were not approved by him he called and said he no longer wants this. He again said please cancel. The customer service rep never said anything to him again about the cancellatoin policy. He was then charged again the next month. Finally after calling every name he was given a rep told him about the policy. Now, I understand that he should have read the contract better but isn't there such a thing as ethical business practice. Lifetime has obviously proven over and over that they are not interested in good business. STAY AWAY FROM LIFETIME FITNESS! The only thing they are working out is your wallett.
All the sales people at Lifetime Fitness blow crap out of their mouth to make people buy into their story. Unfortunately, when you realized the stuff isn't true you get mad and realize Lifetime Fitness does not value the customer nor the prospect. It is a churn and burn operation and consumers should avoid this organization.
Before I signed the paperwork in Michigan location the salesman kept mistalking himself so I asked for a manager. The manager came in and apologized and said that most of what the sales rep was saying was not the current "special and mispoke". So I walked away and as I was leaving I heard him say thanks for wasting my time.
When I complained all I received was a half ### apology from the sales manager. Again, no customer attention here...all staff and company profits first.
I came back with a buddy two weeks later as a guest and I saw the same guy lying to another prospect about all the benefits and low fees. Amazing how Lifetime Fitness did not take any actions for this guys behavior.
Save your time and find some other facility to work out at.
