In August 2022, we went to Camping World on Dick Pond Road in Myrtle Beach, SC looking to get a smaller motorhome. We had a 2020 43 ft. Jayco 5th Wheel that we absolutely loved but with the costs of trucks we could not afford a truck payment and the camper payment. We decided to look for something smaller that was drivable so we would only have one payment. We met with Ron who was very nice and showed us a few campers.

Then out of nowhere a man named Denny came in and started pushing us to buy the 2016 Ace Thor that had just come in, but we had to decide.

because he had a woman coming to look at it. (So he said) He showed it to us and pointed out what a great deal we were getting. I told them I

did not want to put down more than 7500.00 and I did not want a payment over 750.00. After much insistence and “threat of losing such a great

deal” we agreed to the deal. On August 11, 2022, we took $10,000.00 and gave as a deposit (against my better judgement) but was told that was the only way they could make the deal work, which in retrospect didn’t really work as I had requested since I added 2500.00 more cash down and now have a payment of $769.81.

When we did our “walk around” we were told the main awning was broken and would be replaced as soon as possible and we pointed out that when you put it in reverse, the backup camera was not visible and when blinkers were turned on the sideview cameras did not work. We told them we had reservations to go camping on 9/4/2022 and would hope that it was all fixed by then.

We took our “new camper” (not fixed) and very excitedly went camping for the first time on 9/4/2022. It rained throughout the week (we could not sit outside as we had no awning). By Wednesday, 9/7/2022, we realized how much we “hate” the camper and go directly to camping world to see if anything can be done as it had not even been a month and it does not suit our needs at all. Our autistic son (who travels with us) could not sleep on the pull-down bed, the kitchen and refrigerator were way too small. We had looked at other campers that Camping World had listed and were told to send those ID# to them and they would see what could be done.

After not hearing anything, again, I called and was told there was nothing they could do. I even said we would take our 5th wheel back (as it was still sitting there) and was told again that there was nothing they could do.

By the end of the camping week we had the following problems with the camper:

Not only was the main awning broken but the two slide out awnings were as well.

The shower floor felt like you were going to fall through it.

The water pressure was almost nonexistent at times (we used the freshwater tank until it ran out to make sure it worked as we were going boondocking the following trip.

The toilet did not hold water.

The water pump kicked on constantly and was so loud it would wake you up in the night.

The USP ports in bedroom did not work.

The front passenger window leaked.

The propane leaked and emptied the tank within a 24-hour period.

There was no ladder to get in the bunk (although we were told it was probably stored in the closet).

And of course, the issue with the radio/back up visual was still an issue.

When leaving the campground, we took it directly to camping world where they took the copy of all the “problems” and we told them we had another trip schedule for 11/1/2022. That gave them from 9/11/22-11/1/2022 to get everything fixed.

On 10/20/2022 I got a call from Nate saying the awning had been fixed and they were looking at the radio and he would get back to us when they

were done. Not hearing anything we went there on 10/22/2022 and was advised it was done. We were taken to the camper and could immediately see the back awnings were not fixed and asked about everything else. Nate said he didn’t remember everything else so to refresh his memory. I reminded him that they had the list somewhere but gave him the list again also reminding him we needed it by Nov.1.

He said, “I’m sorry about this and that is no problem as I will get it in here first thing Monday morning to get fixed.”

On 10/31/2022, after not hearing anything again, my husband went to see what was going on.

NOTHING – that is what was going on. They had not even taken it in to fix any of it.

In conclusion of this HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE with CAMPING WORLD, could you please see if anything can be done to rectify this situation.

I have been paying monthly storage fees (total waste) for a camper that has been sitting in your lot to be fixed and paid for a camping trip that now is being delayed – if it happens at all.

This was an original letter sent to Marcus Lemonis (who boasts "If you're not happy, I'm not happy") A HUGE JOKE!

Today, 10/14/2023, they finally (supposedly) have our awning and radio fixed but want us to pay over $600.00 to get it from them when, they have used our warranty that we bought at the time of purchase to correct everything they have done so far (repairs that were pointed out to them immediately upon purchase and should have been repaired on their dime).

It just appalls me that this company can get away with cheating hard-working people the way they have.

Desired outcome: The company to make things right - they have done nothing yet to do anything right.
