I was shopping at the Columbus, Oh store on 3/26/15 and was appalled to notice that the sales clerks were in the process of washing down the shelving units as part of their job duties! Most of these employees are 50+ yrs old, some younger, some older. I spoke with the manager who indeed said this was part of their job description. Seriously?? I don't know about the rest of you, but have you ever been in a store @ 11:30 a.m. and see the clerk staff cleaning???? This corporation has a janitorial service for the floors, why not for the anything else?Ohio is an "employed at will" state; I sincerely...

The sign on the merchandise rack and the ad clearly stated 50% off beads. When I was checking out the items were ringing up full price. The cashier did not respond to my request to check the price. I found a salesperson whom I asked to check my receipt with the product and the clearly marked sign. She said my beads were spacers and did not qualify even though the package clearly stated silver beads. She the proceeded to tell me "technically they are spacers " even though the package was marked "bead". This is not the first time but it sure will be the last time I shop at Joann's. Extremely...

STORE!!! On Saturday, for the SECOND TIME since this store opened,
checking account was charged THREE times for my one purchase. Each time
I was told that the transaction did not go through and was asked to
swipe my card again. On Monday, I learned that the

This complaint applies to every Joann Fabrics that I have been to in Oakland and Macomb Counties, Michigan. I believe it is universal. After 20+ yrs of trying to purchase from this company WITHOUT being irritated I am giving up. My complaints: cash out lines so long it reminds me of a bread line in the former Soviet Union. Only women would put up with this BS.; men NEVER would. Coupons are almost worthless as almost everything is "on sale". Products are not priced correctly. Cutting area very understaffed. If I have to learn how to weave my own fabric in order to avoid ever
setting foot into another Joann fabrics ... then that would be a skill
worth learning! As an organization, Joann Fabrics appears to have a
real gift for hiring the rudest, nastiest, most sarcastic and
condescending women (and some men) to staff their stores. Dismissive is
the word that comes to mind when I think of the humorless ogres

My mother, daughter and I shopped in Jo-ann's today 2/1/14 and was completely offended by a "so-called" manager named Dominique. She treated us as if we were children and was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I mentioned that I did not appreciate the attitude that she had with my mother and I she became even more rude and obnoxious and then threatened to call police on us - for what reason we are still very puzzled. Sunday morning (December 1, 2013) I received a text on my cell phone with a 60% off coupon for Joann Fabrics. I wasn't planning on going to Joann's that day, but 60% made it worth my while. Unfortunately, once I got into the store I saw a sea of sales cards on just about every item in the store. From 10% to 40%. In other words, my coupon was worthless as Joann's policy is that you can only use a coupon on non-sale items. WOW! After going to this store a few times in high school I remember telling myself "note to self, never go back!" First, they have all the fabrics aligned on the wall with little room to wiggle your fabric out of. So when I finally found some fabric that I liked, I went to the station to get my fabric cut and the lady almost had a heart attack when I told her it was blanket and I wanted it only 2 yards. I received an email early on a Sunday morning showing an excellent deal on an embossing/die cutting machine. I immediately went to the site and ordered one. Since I got such a good deal on the machine I ordered some dies to go with it. The dies were fairly priced but of course I wouldn't have bought them without getting such a good deal on the machine. I also wanted to purchase enough to get the free shipping.

I went in to JoAnn's on the 17th. My sales flier did not list the items I selected for use with my coupon, nor were any signs on those items. (You can only use coupons on items that are not on sale.) At the register, I was told they were on sale. After the manager looked through my sales flier and verified they were not, she said they must be in another sales flier that I, as a preferred customer, didn't get. At 8:52, my husband, son and myself hurried into the store past a worker who was lighting up a cigarette. We needed to grab some foam for our son's playroom. No sooner did we get to the foam and begin gathering our needed amount than the same woman who was lighting the cigarette ran up to me and said "can I help you cause we're closed." They were counting the drawers already. They close at 9 p.m. not 8:52. As a result, I will not shop at Joann Fabrics in the future and I will take my 200.00 project elsewhere....

I special ordered 4 yards of drapery fabric (Robert Allen manufacturer). When It came in there was 4 1/3 yards. Joann's policy is to cut off anything over what was ordered and keep it for themselves. They then sell the fabric as a remnant, which is 100% profit for them. The manufacturer has the right to cut extra fabric at their discretion for the consumer which should not be any of Joann's business. Joann's has no monetary investment in my special order and is not giving it to me for free, the manufacturer is the one giving it to me. I fussed with the store manager about this but...

I ordered 3 yards of fabric online, because they didn't have it in the store. It took a long time to arrive, and when it did, it was in two pieces! I couldn't use it that way, so I called to return it. They issued a UPS call tag at their expense. So far, so good. I told them I wasn't able to get the unwieldy box to a UPS store, and they said I could schedule a pickup from my home, which I did online. The store does not have a sign posted where to find the special order desk. The staff at the special order desk had gruff and sour attitudes from what I observed. My special order had to be taken to the cash register even thought it was already paid for. I still had to wait in line at checkout, a second time. They seemed to be more than happy to waste my time. I will never shop this store again! Rude and incompetent cashier. This store has a sign that they have a "price match pledge". I had a Michael's circular with me which had the same product I was buying at JoAnn's on sale in their store for 1.99. I asked the cashier if they price match and she said yes. I showed her the ad and then she scanned the item. She said she couldn't match the price because the "regular prices" are different. Michaels had a regular price of 3.49 and JoAnn's regular price was 3.29. I said that's ridiculous, everybody has a different regular price....

Today was one of those days where I needed to get to Joann's early in order to get fabric to finish a project. I should have known it was going to be a bad experience when all 6, yes, the 6 of their shopping carts were being used to hold merchandise waiting to be shelved or stored. I live about 100 miles from the nearest JoAnn Fabrics store so I do my shopping when I'm in Denver. Last night I was chastised for wasting money on gas, and the clerk wondered how much money I was paid by my employer that I could justify wasting gas coming into Denver from the mountains. JoAnn Fabrics has the worst, worst, worst, customer service of any retail store I have ever visited. I won't be returning. And now I understand why a store that should be soaring in a poor economy is having to close. They do not appreciate your business no matter what their corporate headquarters prints...
