i was waiting for them to deduct month end but they didn't deduct then around 4 pm on the 31 i made an EFT payment and sent proof via E-mail. then now am receiving messages saying am in areas whereas i made a payment exactly month end and sent proof someday.. and it's not the first time .. they keep on doing the same thing every month. my reference was my ID number
Recommendation: They need to do something about this.
Agent/consultant harassment and lies as well as unlawful treatment
1. The agent who signed me up lied to me about when I would pay and rushed the process without letting me read the contract. She didn't let me know about the cancelation fee either. She said I could use my pocket money to oay saying that R300 is small without letting me speak.
1.1 the agent kept on calling me continuously asking me for more people to join. She called me 5 times a day.
2. When I found out that their month free and pay after was actually pay the month before, I decided to cancel because I knew I could not pay R300 immediately so I decided to cancel 14 days after being signed up.
3. I told them that I'd not receive pocket money and I told them that I could not continue. They didn't care and told me that i should pay. I said ok but I don't know how.
4. When I messaged the agent about her lies, she started lying to me again.
Recommendation: Do Not SIGN UP WITH ZONE FITNESS. THEY will charge unnecessary fees and empty your account. If you're 18 like me or younger do not sign up. They signed up my friend who is only 17.

Cancellation request
I requested the cancellation of my account in June 2024. ZoneFitness agents had been calling me daily to ask if I was still happy with plan and whether I knew anyone who was interested in joing. On each and every call that I received daily in the month of June, I informed all agents that I'd like the account cancelled as I'd be going on Maternity soon. I explained that I had never set foot in the Gym since taking the membership and had no problem with the debits but was going on Maternity leave soon and wouldn't be able to make the payments anymore. I eventually also got a call from Naeem, the agent who helped me take the membership in the first. I also informed him the same. I asked him for an email address I couls use to send my cancellation request and thats when he advised that I send him a WhatsApp text that he'd forward to management as there was an issue with emails. I did as he requested. A few days later Naeem called again and to my suprise he asked if I was happy with the plan and if there was anyone I knew who was interested in joining. I reminded him of our previous telecom where I had requested a cancellation and him advising me to send a WhatsApp text. His response was that he thought I wanted the account paused. A debit had gone off and I was irritated. I told him I never requested the account to be paused and that the WhatsApp text specifically stated my requeat was to cancel. He again set the expectation that he'd forward the text to management. As I speak my account has not been cancelled and Im going back to work soon. My concern is that the arrears amount will be debited and im even morw irated that 5 months later the contract has still not been cancelled. Today I decided to text Naeem about the matter and the whole experience with him has left a bitter taste in my mouth. He even had the audacity to call me naive for pointing out that he's lying. He says that he called in November to ask me to come to the store to cancel. Even after I reminded him that our telecom in November was regarding the membership I had just taken, he stuck to his lies stating that that he called so that I could come cancel. He never, not once told me to come cancel in store. The only communication we had regarding cancellation was that I should send a WhatsApp text stating I'd like to cancel. If ZoneFitness debits me once Im back at work I will be taking the matter to Ombusman. Tomorrow I'm going to the Police Station for an Affidavit. I so wish I read reviews of this Gym before joining

It looks like you have communicated several times the need to cancel your services with Zone Fitness, and yet still your cancellation hasn't gone through. I can understand how the lack of response and the continued debits are very annoying. Since you indicated that you have already kept a record of such communication, the next level is to take the matter higher within the organisation, either through the higher line management or writing a formal complaint. If that is not successful, triggering a claim through the ombudsman or through a consumer protection organisation may be your best bet. If they keep debiting your account, it would be reasonable to consider chargeback through your bank. You have shown more than enough patience, and therefore explicitly spelling out your intent to sue, for example, getting the affidavit drawn, would also resolve the issue once and for all.
Cancellation procedure
I would like to cancel my subscription and as per requirement went into the branch to do so and fill out the form at reception but no membership could be found.
I signed up on the 31st March and it is been 17 business days since and I have been advised that I need to pay the full subscription in order to cancel.
This is something that should have been disclosed at point of sale, and it was not.

Use of lockers
Me and my girlfriend signed up on the 1st of December. Today the 4th of December was her first time at the gym. After doing her workouts in the gym, when she gets to her locker after locking it she sees her locker is open and her money and EarPods went missing. This is unacceptable. To think about it we get 2 hours free parking downstairs, then what’s gone my car next?
Claimed loss: A whole R450 is now down the drain because of thief’s? Untrained staff members?
Desired outcome: As a customer who’s desired on working out, I can’t be unhappy because of lousy people. If there can’t be a solution on your side, rather compensate me and I don’t pay for a month
Silver sneakers program
We feel that you offer a program without taking in consideration the demand for space. Ocala has a lot of seniors. The problem with the space situation is being going on for more than a year. Your ocala west location was expanded and the situation is still the same. The program for signing up a day before is not working because by the time you do it, they put you in a waiting list. I had to give up my space a few times to give an opportunity to other seniors. We need a bigger room with more chairs to accommodate the growing number of Seniors in Ocala.

Zone fitness tokai levies
Today my gym membership went off for 2 member contract and an extra R198 levies. The consultant did not tell me about levies. Since when in my 40 years dod I ever pay gym levies. The consultant never told me about it just to initial every page. I asked him about it and he said he tells clients every thing. I am not that old or senile about money going off my account. He told me to look at my blue paper contract and it said R198 levies June and Dec? I am disgusted.
I regret signing up with sneaky behavior from consultants. This is my 3rd contract with zone and have never paid it.

Cancellation
In January 2020 I opened a Zone Fitness account. Unlucky for me end of March 2020 the Covid pandemic changed everything. Zone Fitness debited my account because they said they could not cancel debit orders for the month. I contacted Zone Fitness and after multiple attempts I had the pleasure of the assistance of Ms Hajiera Gyer. I expressed to her telephonically and via email that I wish to cancel this account as I don't see it fair to pay for a service that I can't use. I told her that I also have comorbidities that prevents me from using the gym. This woman refused to assist me in my requests. According to Zone Fitness they cancelled all debit orders for the covid period, but I have a statement that proofs otherwise. In September I found out I was expecting and contacted Ms Hajira Gyer again informing her of my situation and the fact that I have doctors reports as to my comorbidities and that I can't go to the gym and yet expressed my thoughts on paying for something I can't use that was out of my control. In November of 2020 Ms Hajiera Gyer sent me an email of the black Friday promotion they are running where you can cancel your contract with a discounted fee. By this time, I have cancelled the debit orders myself as they didn't stop my debit orders during Covid. I was happy about this and willing to take the Black Friday deal just to have her email me again to tell me I don't qualify because my account is in arrears. The next year the Nimble group started calling me about this account and I explained the situation to them. I emailed them my doctors' certificates and they said that I was within my rights to cancel the contract because of Covid. Then I thought the matter was dealt with. This year the calls started again, and I contacted the ombudsman. Unfortunately, I could not provide proof requesting a cancellation as I have deleted those emails. But funny enough Zone Fitness could find other emails I've have sent regarding this account but not the ones to Hajira Gyer and the ombudsman informed me that they don't have the authority to investigate in this manner. Last week I called Zone Fitness again to try and resolve this matter and the consultant said that ALL their managers are busy. She took my details and said that they will contact me. I am still waiting. Another person I also expressed my need to cancel this contract is Cornelia and apparently, she doesn't work there anymore. I am utterly disgusted by the level of dishonesty in Zone Fitness saying that they didn't debit peoples account for the covid period and did exactly that. Claiming that I cancelled the debit order before they established this arrangement, which is also a lie because I have the statement where it proves I didn't. And then there is the horrible, rude and totally disregard with which Ms Hajira Gyer handled my requests and concerns.

I sent email to various people I phoned managers to tell them about this guy that took my details and I told him that he must come the next day to me and I will give him the go a head and pay the r50 card fee he never came to me so he didn't keep by his word so I decided that I didn't want to go further with it anymore but without my consent he still put my papers through without me knowing it and then I saw a debit order I phoned manager and they told me that they would sort it out and get it cancelled so today I received a call people telling me I owe zone fitness more than a R5000 which is impossible because I do not have a card nor did I give him the right to go head with the procedure I find this very unprofessional as I'm also a sales consultant I would love someone to resolve this matter immediately.
Claimed loss: I've never had a loss but it's going to become a loss if I have to pay that amount because of people not knowing how to do their job properly.
Desired outcome: Everything should just be cancelled because it seems as if the managers never did their job to sort me out or take the matter seriously
Staff and hygiene
I was DISGUSTED!
The reception ladies have a big attitude - they give you dirty looks the entire time you are there and are very short with you. I had an appointment and when I arrived the instructor did not know he had an appointment. He was unaware of the injury I had discussed with the staff the day before (The man who helped me the day before was also very happy to tell me that this gym is not in a safe location - your staff obviously do not want to attract customers). He told me he did not know how to instruct me on what machines or exercises to do for my injury. All he said was I must not lift heavy weights.
The inside of the gym looks nice, however while I was training a man in the weights section spat on the carpet and then ran his foot over it and carried on training.
The women's bathroom is an utter disgrace. There are cockaroaches inside the lockers. There is no space in the shower to hang a towel or hang your clothes while you shower.
The shower door opens with the slightest movement and even though there was a staff member cleaning in the bathroom, the shower I entered had diluted blood on the floor. The lady cleaning also just throws a bucket of water from the hand basin onto the shower floor to clean it. One of the toilets was not in use as it was clogged with toilet paper.
UNHYGENIC!
The Operations Manager told me that the staff are just doing their jobs and they can't help what members do unless they catch them in action. The Manager had NO intention or interest in the complaint.
WORST GYM FRANCHISE! Do not recommend!

Theft at Zone Fitness SA
I am very alarmed about the number of cases of theft taking place at Zone Fitness.
The first incident was at Zone Fitness Cape Quarter, Green point on 16th October 2023..Two members (ladies) laptops were stolen out of their lockers. The locks were picked. Apparently it happened while the members were in a class from 5:30pm to 6:30pm..When we returned to the change room the door was closed, which was odd because the door is always open. The door stopper (dumbell) was removed..
This evening at Tokai branch. Same scenario- Two ladies laptops were stolen out of the lockers. Again locks were picked..The one ladies laptop, cellphone and wallet was stolen..Also happened while members were in an evening class.
This is the first time it happened at Tokai..But in the other cases..apparently it's nothing new. Happened many times..
There are no cameras at any gyms. If not, then have securities in the gym checking changing rooms during class times please. Something must be done.
Employees letting members clean the floors
So as i walk pass my friends elbow hits my bottle by accident and it falls and breaks and we go and inform the nearest employee of the accident and they force him to clean the water with 3 paper towels which clearly was not enough to dry the water and couldnt even provide him with a mop nor does the gym have anyone cleaning , also they made fun of him and questioned him and made him feel dumb and embarrassed him during the peak hours of gym this all happened between the hours of 7 and 8

I am complaining about services and charges at zone fitness campus square
On May, I decided that I wanted to join a gym around my institution since I am a student then as I was walking around Campus Square, a guy from zone fitness told me about their gym and their student promotion during May. By that I was interested since I was also looking for a gym. After that I was told to pay R100 joining fee then I'll pay R250 in the following month for 12 months. It also sounded like a good deal because I can also get a personal trainer. So then I agreed as I thought that I could afford it. I only used the gym for 3 days in May, then in June till today I didn't go to the gym and they call to check why am I not using the gym. From July I had a problem with my bursary and so I couldn't pay my membership. In August they called to remind me that I have outstanding payments. Upon hearing this, I was confused because when I was defunded by my bursary, I decided write an email and to go to the gym to inform them about my situation and that i wanted to cancel my membership, I was told that I needed to pay all my outstanding payments and on top of that a cancellation fee which is more than my outstanding payments, only then will my account be cancelled. What surprised me the most was that there was an extra R2000 added to my outstanding payments. Another thing which is confusing is that they expect me to pay for the services I didn't even use. I only went to the gym the month I paid only the joining fee. Now it's like I am paying for services which are not offered to me. This overwhelming in a way that I even got a message that my account has been sent to the debtors collection and I should pay all the outstanding amount by month end. This is affecting me personally and academically because I am stressed. I can't take this anymore.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate it I Zone Fitness Campus Square doesn't expect me to pay for services I'm not using anymore and my account should be cancelled and cleared.
Cape quarter
The locker was broken into while it had a lock. My works laptop was stolen. When we told the staff we were told that no cameras. If this has been happening then why are no cameras, why are people not told before hand that even whwn you have a lock you can still lose your valuables. I would never recommend this gym to anyone. I woah they could lose all the members so they can open their eyes.
Unresolved query and lack of response
Good day, me and my wife joined the phillipi branch at the beginning of this year, hoping to change our physical and health lives.
The first premium was deducted end March 2023, which was not as per my request of the 15th of every month and the amount was more than what I signed for. So, I went to the branch in April 2023 to get a resolution with a copy of my signed contract. They took my papers to the back office and promised to call me. They never did. Shockingly I received a call from the Nimble lawyers in Aug/September telling me that my zone fitness account has been handed to them for collection. I went to the branch three more times, still no one has ever called or committed themselves to solving my query and answering me on why I have lawyers calling me.
Now I'm writing to you because on the 4th of October 2023 I told them to cancel my membership, and supply me with a cancellation letter or a form as proof for the lawyers. The supervisor/manager (Kenny Muso) told me that they cannot help me. Please call me on [protected] or WhatsApp [protected], because my credit record is being messed up because of the lack of interest and carelessness show by the phillipi branch.

Cancelation issues and being deceived

I signed up at Zone Fitness on 26 April 2023. I was offered a month free at a discounted rate of R225 pm on a 24 month basis at the Tokai branch.
The individual who signed me up was Yusuf, he said that the normal rate was R1 000 p.m when the website had clearly stated it was R299 p.m. I told him this yet he ignored the fact that I called him out and I have been querying this since May and want to cancel my contract.
I got a cancelation fee of R891, 50 with a remainder of 23 months on the contract. There is no way the rate was R1 000 as the cancelation fee is 10% of the remaining months.
I tried canceling my contract again this month with a remaining of 16 months and they gave me a fee of R 2 047, 50 which is utterly ridiculous. How is it more than double with half the amount of months remaining as the first fee ?
After sending screenshots of the proof mentioned above they have not contacted me back and they refuse to send me proof of their rates, seems it's all made up.
I'm so tired of going back and forth with the agents and being deceived and lied to. The website clearly states that it is R299 pm and now that I'm calling them out on their deception they want to charge me more for the cancelation fee.
Please get this sorted out and your employees should be dealt with for their deception!
You need to train your staff to be honest and deal with those who are deceiving people or is your company running on deception ?

Desired outcome: The cancelation fee on R299 on 23 months as I've been given a months free, with 16 months remaining. R4 784 at 10% is R478,40 & compensated for your inconvenience & nonsense I had to put up with from your agents.
Double debit
I've been double debited I reversed the payment and then it went off twice again reversed and block the payment tried to contact Zone Fitness Lenasia the accounts lady was of no help at all. Unable to use my membership since December because they refuse to answer my emails. And I refuse to pay the back payments because this is not my fault it could have been resolved in Decemeber if they assisted me when I requested. And I will not pay for something I was not allowed to use

Cannot cancel my contract
I sent a cancellation request via the website in Oct 2022 for our 2 gym contracts. An agent responded, requested my ID, then told me I had 18 months remaining. I left it there. Then attempted again to cancel on 1st Aug 2023, I sent a mail to the same person that responded to me, she responded with this:

On the 7th Aug, I responded and asked her if this is for both memberships or only one, she has still not responded. I have also sent a follow up email, with no response.
Please, could someone who knows what is going on assist me to cancel these two contracts?

Cancellation of contracts
I was in the Milnerton branch to file a cancellation I spoke with Reece who had confirmed my contract can be cancelled with immediate effect with no waiting period or cnacellation fees.
This was escelated to Jodi who sent it to Michelle who sent it to Heinrich and as you can see gotten quite the run around.
Alll I want is for these contracts to be cancelled.
Please see all correspondence attached and advise on the steps to follow as I am certainly not happy that I need to be forced to pay for this service I was told could be cancelled at any time.
