TradingView Mixed Feelings About TradingView

As someone who has been actively trading for years, I have had a mixed experience with TradingView. While the platform offers a wide range of tools and features that can be beneficial for traders, there are some significant drawbacks. The customer service and technical support seem to be lacking, with long response times and issues with account management. Additionally, the pricing structure can be seen as excessive for the value received, especially when compared to other alternatives in the market. While the platform has potential with its charting features and indicators, the overall experience has been marred by issues such as unexpected charges, lack of support, and limitations on basic functionalities. It's essential to carefully evaluate your needs and consider all aspects before committing to TradingView.

TradingView Good but needs to keep up with other platforms

I like this app a lot because it’s very convenient to have a great share of what already is on your computer, on your phone.
Makes it easy to track stocks and the chart drawer is fairly easy to manage.

Improvements that could be made:
1. WIDGET: It’s extremely important for traders to have information availability at a few touches of the hand. It would be amazing if you guys add a watchlist iPhone widget, just like all the other trading apps have (look at Robinhood or TD Ameritrade for example).

2. App/website independence: Of course the app information has to be based on the website information but at the same time, nowadays will live in a smart phone oriented world in which people use their smart phones as much as they can, and the only go to computer when they need to see big data that is hard to read in a small screen. The fact that there’s this chart overlapping every time one of the other platform launches kind of inconvenient. Sometimes you don’t want to see exactly what you’re looking at a new computer, and your phone just because the screen is not big enough and it will never be. Just make the default to have one memory for the computer charts another one for The mobile version. This should include different themes also, in the sense of being able to use one theme on your phone and a different one on your computer when you look at charts.

I like the app, I think the price of the service is fair but I do feel like it could use some improvements.

TradingView Best in show, but far from complete

EDIT: the bugs mentioned below are fixed now. All in all, this is the best charting app for iphone.

However, I still think alerts would be a game changer. TradingView does not have data for nearly as many crypto coins and tokens as Delta. Seems a T1 exchange is a prerequisite, which is a bit of a turn off. Also, I wish there was a way to easily turn on/off and edit inputs for indicators like EMA on the mobile app. For now, it seems the only work around is to delete the indicator and re-add it. Even then, it’s difficult to double-tap the line in the proper way to bring up the settings menu, especially on a busy chart.

When using multiple frames for indicators (eg Price/Vol above RSI above MACD), new drawing tools do not show up correctly, especially if you are viewing only one of the indicator frames, rather than making all visible. It’s like they are off the screen no matter how you zoom or move the screen around.

Again, it’s a great app but I feel TV is capable of much more. Appreciate the developer response, even though it was many weeks later.

ORIGINAL: This used to be a good app for when I couldn’t I use my premium desktop subscription. It’s always annoyed me that you can’t set alerts in the app (especially when other products have that feature).” But over the last couple days the app is falling apart. I can’t access the drawing tools, change time frames or even see the menu bar anymore. Deleted and reinstalled app today, but same problems persist.

TradingView Terrible Support/Custom time intervals not working in app

I had an unpaid subscription but to be able to customize time intervals you have to upgrade to Trading Views ‘Pro’ service - okay cool. After I upgraded to the Pro service I was able to create custome time intervals (which is THEE ONLY reason I upgraded).

A few months after upgrading I’m utilizing the Trading View iOS app and my custom intervals are gone. Even worse, I can’t create them and if I create them on my PC they don’t show up in the app.

As I scroll through the various default time intervals the app offers I keep getting the scammy pop up add telling me to upgrade my subscription in order to be able to create custom time intervals. I REALLY REALLY need my custom time intervals to be available in the app so I prepare to take the financial loss and RE-PAY to upgrade to a pro account. This ended up generating an entire new account and even STILL on this account, I am still unable to create my own custom time intervals while utilizing the mobile iOS app.

So here I am, I’ve been robbed of $153.00, it’s pretty much impossible contact anybody to explain that you’re not getting the service you’ve twice paid for on either of my two accounts that I now have and once I finally was able to get lucky hear and contact someone at Trading View via email, my issue is completely misunderstood and I’m simply told that I can’t access the Custome time intervals because I’m not signed into the account that has Pro service. *News Flash*: In either account, Pro or free service, the app doesn’t allow you to utilize custome time intervals.

TradingView THE best site and with THE best value

I had been using TradingView website off and on for the past few yrs (once every few months). Mostly my use was limited to technical analysis indicators/tools. In the last week my interest increased after learning that one could create scripts at this website.
This lack of info has mainly to do with my of knowledge about the website. I had been doing coding for sometime on the sideline, mainly VBA for investments. I jumped on the YouTube and spent few hrs to familiarize myself with Pine script. Before I knew it, I was working in Pine script editor, user friendly reference is available as popup. I spent few hrs writing Pine scripts. Pretty soon I realized that sky was the limit in terms of developing studies and strategies. I am still trying to get my feet wet. Hopefully, in the next few months my studies will increase my confidence in writing more productive scripts. This has already has boosted my confidence with the interpretation of broker related information in terms of how to read into pricing and volume related information.
On top of this, the screening tool depth does help further add to the quality of information one gathers by slicing and dicing the info in so many different ways.
In summary, this website and its enhancements have definitely more to offer to someone even at the entry level.

I am writing this positive review because the team at the TradingView has earned it and they should take pride in it. Hopefully, I will join their premium subscription in the next few months as my appreciation for the hard work the team has put in and grow from there.

Keep up the good work!

TradingView Your “Crypto” news…

…hardly delivers usable info… primarily repeating, not reporting, unfounded attacks on BTC/supporters. e.g.- Sen. Warren, Biden administration and NYT, among others, continuing misstatements and mistruths about BTC -failure to clearly distinguish between proof of work vs. proof of stake amongst digital currency leading to -continually “lumping” BTC with other popular but less effective digital currencies. Do a better job-in presenting “news,” credibility is not enhanced by sophomoric cut and paste repeating of other’s negative positions on BTC/supporters. Find accurate, reliable sources to present rounded views.

UPDATE:
I’ve not seen a difference in news provider concerning my observation. I have seen few words,if any, you’ve posted
that distinguishes BTC from any other coin.
Rightly, Proof of Work concept as opposed to Proof of Stake.

You’ve shown no shortage of Reuters’, DJ, or others “opinions” who lump BTC with other coins in their attack on cryptocurrency. Recently you shared a piece by a person whose credentials were touted from the perspective of the failed Genesis operation. She, too, chose to present commentary without proper context. We are left with a “con” whenever there is no proper context.

In reality these attacks on BTC are based in something G. Gensley said recently-don’t want to see crypto undermine money markets (fiat.). Good luck with that Gary.

Please consider context when choosing/editing content for inclusion.
Just repeating the ranting of the Elizabeth Warrens and others without proper background means “your slip is showing.”

TradingView Fading View…

It is clear that TV is now ran by a confused marketing team that is trying way too hard to be edgy. So hard that every new update has fallen flat!

One of the top rules in business: don’t try to fix something that isn’t broken.
Their goal is clearly to grab younger traders with little experience, those who use platforms like WeBull and RobinHood or the free charts on every website. But all that does is penalize us, the experienced TA’s, the ones that helped build them to where they are now.

The new rookie preview charts are a dead giveaway at who they are targeting and further shows how Trading View is becoming a Fading View.

The commercials are a huge miss and completely take your mind off of what the company even is.

The new slogan “Look first, then leap” is a HUGE miss. People will perceive this as if TV is all about shorting the market and leaping out of building windows. It also might seem as if they are about their “looks first” before their current customers. There is an endless amount of better options. “The view, before the jump” would at least have something to do with their name. “Analyze before the dive”? I mean the options are endless.

I don’t think any current customer has any clue what the new logo is supposed to represent besides a very awkward looking TV that is difficult to look at. It mostly represents a TY now. The description on the website of what it represents just made it even more confusing. I can’t make it out AT ALL. And the fact that TV even said they accidentally made it look like someone shrugging, should really say something. It will for sure not attract anyone new and it needs a revamp already.

Trading View… maybe next time… look before you leap. Think before you leap

TradingView Great up, but recent update incredibly bad

First of all, this is an amazing app. It can legitimately be used to track positions in real time. It's missing some features of desktop website but Ive been happy with how these changes are slowly being integrated over time.

The recent update introduced an incredibly annoying feature. Before, you could select your timeframe by clicking on the number and using a little slider on top of the screen to pick between 1M, 1H, etc. This was sleek and, importantly, didn't distract from the chart itself. This really helped the real time usuability, if you were making trading decisions based on the app. For example, for a scalp trading, quickly switching between the 1 min, 5 min, and 15 min chart without ever taking your eyes off the chart is very important.

The new updates changes this so the time selection screen takes up the entire screen, showing you a list of timeframe a instead of your chart. What in the world? Why? The point of the app is the chart, it's not the timeframe. The timeframe is just a number followed by a letter (1H for 1 hour for example). I don't need the whole screen to select and read it. When I'm trading on the go on, in real time this is incredibly distracting. It makes the app go from being sleek and useful to bulky and distracting.

This alone is enough for me to switch back to using the mobile website version. If someone really needs to the see the whole screen for the time frames, make it a long press option. Please don't remove the quick select option of the slider that ends up distracting from the chart itself. Really hope someone in their design team sees this because it seems clear that whoever decided this was a good change doesn't actually use the Tradingview mobile app for their trading decisions.

TradingView Looks over Functionality

I currently use pro+ and pay for CME real time data. There’s issues that have been persistent for quite a while, in my opinion.

- Good luck having this app open on an iPad or phone and using the PC app simultaneously, sync issues are persistent.
- Order entries are pathetically slow, I mean it’s a paper account, does it need to be that difficult?
- Sync issues with positions, cmon. PC will show long position while my iPad shows a short! Ruins trade data, because you have to filter through botched trades caused by the app’s inability to function.
- Menus and settings are too confusing to navigate seamlessly and fast. They should be more consolidated.
- Depth of market is poor enough on PC, but to not to have it in app is inexcusable. TD, RH, and other mobile brokers have this feature.
- Cannot execute paper trades in bar replay limiting the ability to properly backtest.
- Bar replay breaks the time scale on your chart, you can replay the chart but you’ll never have the right date.
- Cannot change timeframe while in full screen, have to constantly switch in and out of full screen making it useless.
- I pay for real time data but only see it in a candle on the chart, I want Time:Sales, Level II, DoM, heatmap, etc.

All in all I feel these guys are prioritizing marketing and not functionality of their products. For the cost you pay for pretty charts here you can get amazing professional tools like bookmap. The charts and everything is sleek and pretty, but not reliable enough to use consistently with a professional approach. Some of the more advertised features of TV like bar replay aren’t always usable or reliable. Your broker mayfer better charting and reliable tools, so just stick to that if you’re on the fence about paying for a membership.

TradingView Cryptonailer

As a newcomer, the information is great!, but very fragmented, one has to be very careful , not to follow the wrong so called pro! Like the internet, everyone is a pro, in title, but not in practice!, sadly every one has an opinion, and everyone will give advice, good, or not!
Even after a person invests the time to figure out , who the true pros are, the real pros do not post on TradingView until, it’s almost not relevant, unless you devote every waking moment to waiting for a true pro, to post, and then, and only then, decide as to how to put this information into practice . And even then in a market that is dictated by normal supply, and demand, it can all be, decided by one individual , who is affluent enough to control the entire market , with a well thought plan. , these are not people receiving the same information, as anyone just following TradingView, so who do you think is going to prosper? I can assure you that there are great investment opportunities, but unless you can devote the time, and invest not only in a trading plan, you are just fodder unless you also, pay for a true pro, to send you trading advice, even then it is a market that it seems can go completely off script, depending on the most affluent traders that you are trading against, I can assure you that, these are very savvy individuals, who make it their job to know your psychological weaknesses, and pretty much know how, and when to bring this knowledge to bear, when they are making their money, ! This can only be done by taking someone else’s money!. Who do you think will win? Please be vigilant, when you enter the trading arena, as in life, the biggest usually wins, trading is not an even play field.
Conclusion; even after a long thought out plan, with the benefit of a true pros input!your probably bringing a knife, to a gun fight! Especially in this current bear market

TradingView Genuinely upsetting redesign

As a premium user of TradingView for the last four years, I can say that it’s hands down the best trading software on the market. That being said, for advanced users the new redesign is frustrating to say the least. It seems as though the button placement simply wasn’t thought out. The ticker is on the very bottom left, right next to the timeframe. But the chart type, indicator, replay button, date interval, compare, draw, alerts, ideas, undo and redo buttons all come before the exit button. Hence, for users who use multiple charts (2x3 layout for example as opposed to 1x1) you will be driven mad. You won’t be able to see the ticker of the chart you selected unless you scroll all the way to the left. Now you won’t be able to see the candlesticks of the chart unless you enter the chart, which is done by scrolling all the way to the right.. now you can’t change the time interval unless you scroll all the way to the left. Want to see another chart? Scroll all the way to the right to exit and repeat. Advanced users don’t use their phones as their primary editing sources - they use them for monitoring. As such, the 10 buttons in between the two used ones (ticker/timeframe and exit) are a nuisance. The redesign makes monitoring nearly impossible on an iPhone unless in horizontal, where five icons (chats, charts, watchlist etc) will still take up a quarter of available screen real estate. The tradingview team is solid and they’ve done wonders over the past years. I have no doubt that these things will be corrected. But they have really missed the ball by disregarding their more advanced users, the ones who actually pay for their software year in and year out, opting to please the ones who don’t. Inter-platform connectivity is one of the reasons I and others pay 600 USD yearly for your service. All I ask is that you don’t forget us in your next update. Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you.

TradingView Watch out for digital price manipulation

[protected]: Signed up today fro PRO+ then after tinkering around I tried taking advantage of the BlackFriday discount for the Premium price and suddenly the charge has increased by 39% in a matter of hours. The original offer is on the webpage but the TradingView.app Apple price is raised. Who is the digital price manipulation thief here? Apple or TV? Obviously, this 'review' isn't about the charting merits of the TV app, it is about the digital scams US citizens are subjected to on constant basis. If forced to guess which is the biggest or most likely scammer here, then I'd have to go with the platform monopolist with a proven track record of fleecing customers for the benefit of their majority shareholders. I couldn't care less what sort of response this 'review' spurs other than honoring the BlackFriday offer posted when I pressed the 'upgrade' button on the webpage. As for the app switcharoo price take that and ... I have the screenshots of the posted offers with all the consumer has to go by practically speaking so please don't waste your time point fingers or spewing corporate droidisms.

[protected] post 'Developer' Response: The TV website 'regular' price has fluctuated multiple times in past 48h by several hundred USD. Meaning the discount 'savings' are illusionary at best. What we have here is a den of thieves. Platform marketing ethics are a cesspool. Those swimming in that pool don't even notice the stain and stench after a paycheck or two. Another TV billing scam is the offer to 'extend' which if you read the small print before pressing the final button you'll see TV claws every penny of savings back by resetting the auto-renewal price higher but the 'savings' amount. Assuming the printed words can be believed regarding the "Forever" BlackFriday discount consumer-victims are better off not extending and then watching how much TV jacks up the regular price before applying the so-called "forever" discount at next renewal.

TradingView Pro Trader pretty disappointed :(

I’ve been using TradingView for the last two years and I have to say their web based charting platform is pretty spectacular. That said… Considering how many professional traders use their platform to chart and now many are using it as well for placing trades… You would think they would put more effort into fixing the numerous issues with their mobile app. Especially considering they are one of the most expensive charting platforms I have ever come across. Is there a high price where is it? Almost. I say almost because I’ve personally written them and made several suggestions that would benefit the community but none of them have ever been acted upon. six months ago I made them aware that when using the app the timeframe you choose and end up seeing on the chart is different from what is seen in the timeframe option window so I will be looking at a one hour chart and both will say one hour... that’s because when you open the app everything will look appropriate but then if I change the timeframe from one hour to one day the one day charge does appear but is indicated still to be the one hour timeframe in the option window. For a professional trader on the go...not good. I also informed them that there is no ability to tap on an alert and to be taken directly to a chart with that ticker. Instead you have to go to the home button and then into the alerts you have to look at the alert in the timeframe the alert was set for and then you have to go back open up charts type in the ticker and hit return. And you have to do that every single time you want to check an alert. Considering I have about 100 alerts going off each day this has made checking them on the mobile impossible. Months later no action no fix no nothing. I think you know where I’m going with this so I won’t keep mentioning all the other issues but I have a pro account which is super pricey and I would just expect more from this team I think their app developer needs to be replaced.

TradingView Pretty great

Aside from a few hiccups design wise it’s fine and works great. 4/5

Dear Tradingview, IMHO:

Removal of Trash can button from iPhone interface to easily remove objects was a misstep. now you have to tap, tap again to open a menu, select to remove button from a ginormous list. This is a routine function in my workflow that now takes much longer. This is a downgrade not an upgrade from my perspective.

Used to have a hot bar for quick access to most your favorite tools(like every other expensive piece of software)—but that’s been ditched too. Gotta tap to open another complex menu, sort through yet another huge list just to get something simple done. Making my routine tasks more complex and take way longer is again a downgrade for the exact same reason.

TradingView is such a cool service this app gets 4 stars. But seriously the recent design changes have massive downsides that don’t add up to me. Can there be way to optionally bring back the bar of icons that floated above chart? I dearly miss the days of getting in complete flow with app, soaring down every asset known to humankind, having every chart in brain all at once.

Achieving flow state is way harder the new arrangement behind the menus. For my work flow routine, this is the equivalent of moving the left and right click functions of a mouse and jamming them behind a menu you dance around every time you want to take action.

more taps, time, and attention lost and never gained back to accomplish the same task as before. it really is worse for crazies like me who want charting to take up as little time as possible so they can live life 1/2 way in reality and 1/2 in financial markets.

Everybody wants something different out of this app, which makes it almost impossible to successfully please us, the horde of bipedal two thumbed know it alls. Thank you devs and designers even though I strongly disagree with your harsh treatment of hot bar icons, they were lovely and deserve to exist. I miss them dearly.

Sincerely
L.Hummerfort

TradingView No 2FA, No Support for free users

Listen, first of all let me say that this is an awesome service and the best charting platform. I’ve tried so far. But there are limitations.

I’m not sure what direction they want to take this software but I’ve taken the currently implemented features as a hint and this review is to point out some inadequacies.

My Issues:

I can’t believe that you all are providing software where we can link our brokerage accounts etc and there is no Two Factor Authentication.

No portfolio feature. Stocks, cryptos nothing.

No paper Trading or trading via the iOS app

No price alerts within the iOS app. Cant configure them either. Only get them in email. This is better than nothing but I’m tired of email and want a cohesive experience especially if I’m paying.

There are $2.00 apps that have price alerts and portfolios built in and free apps that you can paper trade from, however again we would all prefer a cohesive experience.

No iPad app.

No Apple Watch app for price alerts or chat mentions.

There is absolutely no support for free users who have just joined the site and have questions. Not even email. They explicitly state that they can not answer email from free users.

You can’t even post questions in the public chats without gaining 50 reputation points.

No twitter Support channel, you can’t even send a message or a public tweet via twitter on their public official channel.

I’m already signed in via the iPad browser. I go to getsatisfaction/tradingview community. The only place I can apparently, maybe communicate with someone.

I try to sign into the community, but it says I must be signed into trading view (I already am) it redirects me to the trading view webpage to login on another tab. I log in and it doesn’t redirect me back. I click over to the community tab and it’s still asking me to log in.

I’m going to become a paying member regardless, however, after the novelty of awesome chatting wears off. These missing things really start to stick out.

TradingView Great app - some further improvements suggested

TV is hands down the best for charts; no other app - even thinkorswim - comes close. The mobile app does a great job in bringing the charts to a smaller screen in native form without any dilution. Kudos to the developers for being able to do so. The watchlist view is also one of the best I’ve seen from many, many apps I have tried. The font size on the watchlist is perfect (at least for regular trading hours, see note below on extended hours). Overall, I’ve really enjoyed using TV. However, to make it a 5-star app, I have a few suggestions, which I hope the developers will take into consideration. These should go a long way in making TV the one-stop app for trading/charts.

The mobile app badly needs a NEWS tab. Without this, I find myself looking at some major movement in a ticker in TV, and then instantaneously checking another app. In addition, the news feed on TV (on the website) needs some improvement in general, with maybe more sources linked. Currently, the news for most tickers are sparse, and often not timely.

Although the watchlist view is great, there are a couple of suggestions I have to improve it. First, it’s sometimes, especially for large lists, difficult to orient eyes to red/green fonts in the lower row of a ticker (price charge, % change), as the up/down signal. A couple of other apps manage to do this in a great way. Webull for example has the price displayed in a red/green background. Yahoo! Finance displays the change (price or %) in a red/green background. Following something like that would make things easier on the eyes. For the website, this is not as important because of the fundamental difference in how tickers are displayed on a mobile screen vs. the website.

Extended hour prices are most difficult to follow on a mobile app, and Webull and Yahoo! manage to do a good job, but with extremely low font size which is often difficult to read. I like how TV displayed extended hour prices on the landscape view, but for the vertical view, it runs into the same issue as these other apps. The issue is further exaggerated by the display of price as well, along with price/% change, which all in small fonts makes the watchlist look cluttered. I don’t have a solution to suggest, but I wish the developer consider thinking about how to improve this.

TradingView First Impression

I hope that this review gets to the developers team and I really hope that they will read it and do something about it. I emphasize that the two star rating I gave it could change if they fix the problems. First important thing about the app is that I have not found a way to use the market screener in the app. Where is it?! Am I missing anything or is it really not possible to use it in the app?! If that's the case, then this is the biggest problem because generally speaking the most important use of any market app for active traders is the SCREENER and then the charts! I'm sure active traders know that you are lost without a screener! So, tradingview desktop has a tab for market screener but not the app?! This is seriously a downside that needs to be addressed and fixed. Then, there is an issue with the custom indicators that users can create. I have to say that I have found tradingview pine script to be more powerful than tc2000 way of writing custom indicators which is basically not a scripting language and could be very hard to write complex formulas to compare current bar with previous ones, but it becomes a fairly easier scripting effort in pine. So, that's really a positive side of tradingview, but then you can only use them on charts and there is NO WAY to add the custom created indicators to the screener's columns and USE them to sort the market whereas it is as easy as a click in tc2000! You would think, what the heck! I created an indicator that I cannot use to filter the market! What good is that going to do?! I just don't know! Then, there is this issue with their alerts! There is NO WAY to create alerts for large watchlists. In other words, you have to manually write your alerts for EVERY SINGLE stock on your watchlist! I have seen methods to create alerts by scripting in the pine editor, but they cannot be applied at the same time to a long list of stocks. Also keep in mind that alerts ALWAYS need to be fine tuned which means one MUST go through all of their alerts again manually to change them! This is a pain and it becomes so time consuming that you almost want to get rid of tradingview altogether! They need to add features to enable users to create similar alerts for watchlists. I also have to say that even their most expensive membership does not allow more than 400 alerts which is not satisfactory for active traders. Users need to be able to create and use similar alerts for longer lists. As of now, this is my first impression with tradingview. I wrote this long review only because I read their notes online claiming that they really look at the feedbacks they receive. I hope that's true?! And I mention again that I like this app and I wrote this review hoping that they would improve this app and its platform in which case I will be happy to change the rating I gave it!

TradingView Was bad, but over 2019 big improvements done!

updated may26 2019- 5*
One feature/function I would really like to see added (or rather changed)- when you have your cursor (or w no cursor but have scrolled to) a prior time frame, if you change the chart interval (ie from 1day to 4hour) you should still be looking at that same timeframe. (it’s not like that currently)
for example if my chart is at one week interval . And i scroll back to January , if i then change to a four hour interval, I should still be looking at January , it should not reset to the current date/time whenever you change intervals. (this would, kind of, allow users to zoom in to a timeframe for more detail, via reducing the period/interval). thanks

updated may2019- 5*
The app has undergone many improvements since my prior posts below, it really is good now!
so 5s are well deserved

*** One feature I think really needs to be added, is the ability to get iOS notifications when someone you’re following posts a new idea. Best would be on a per user setting, kind of like in YouTube where you can “ring the bell icon” on a user, and then you will receive iOS notifications as soon as they make a post.

I really like the recent change where you have to long press to then get your cursor. prior to this very welcome change, it was too difficult to slide a chart along the X axis , Without accidentally selecting drawings or other elements on the chart you did not intend to select. this new long press method is excellent and solve this issue.

I would like to see a Feedback option within the app to send suggestions. thanks!

update sept 24 2018- 3*
for paying tv customers if you have a graph open on your computer and then open the TradingView app you instantly get a message blocking/stopping the graph on your computer (msg saying 1 device at a time). this wasn’t the case in the past, and is really ridiculous especially when you’re in the same location, same IP address on both. (I could maybe sympathize a little , if you’re at a different two different IP addresses/locations, but even that isn’t right.). The even more absurd part, is the message appears instantly on your PC when you open the app, but of course it doesn’t go away when you then close the app.

I had given a five star review as the TradingView app has been greatly improved, however this change is unfortunate.

Update may 13- 5*
wow, tradingview is actually putting effort and developers on their apps as of recently. they have addressed one of my biggest issues with the app: the lack of an indicator showing if displayed quotes are accurate/updated (for example when switching from another app to TradingView, while it is running in the background). they accomplished this in a very clean, functional, and un-intrusive way.

additionally, one of my second (minor) issues, was when you tapped on a users’ name “link” you now get a useful screen that shows the users recent ideas!
(prior to this update when you would tap a users name, you were brought to a useless page that only allowed you to message the user. i say useless as when you tap on a user, you are looking to see their ideas, not send them a message; but now both options are available!)

i’m very impressed so far! tks.
(changed my rating from 1star to 5)

—-

Update apr 2 2018-
Still no updates / no issues addressed-

1- when switching back to app , I have no way of knowing if the quotes I’m looking at are current or are old, I have to wait at least two ticks and often check the chart to see if I’m looking at a current quote (ie from 10s to 45s delay each time ) (we Need a loading indicator or background refresh, or something)

2- when you click ideas, and then tap a users name, you get a useless page that just shows when the user joined and a button for “send user a message”. There is no way to get to what you actually want, which is that users “ideas page”.

3- See all of my still un-addressed issues below/prior.

—end update apr—-

Update (mar 10 2018)- it’s nice that they’re replying to reviews, but I hope they’re spending as much time on the iOS app development as they are on PR and comments.
As here we are four weeks later, no new updates, no issues addressed. (Rating changed from two stars to one)

My two biggest issues still are;

1-the app does not update data while in the background, thus when you switch back to the app you are often looking at an old quote or old chart data for sometimes up to 15 seconds, until the price jumps/updates.

—— end mar 2018 update

I will update this review at a later date. Sooner, if trading view actually starts putting some real emphasis upon their iOS app. It is possible as tv did finally release a much needed update recently.

My main issues are as follows;
+ The app must have some kind of indicator or progress bar or something, on the watchlist screen- very often I will Re-open, or switch back to the app, and think I’m looking at current quotes, only for them to update/jump 3 to 30 seconds later (as there is no way to tell, {when switching to the app if the quotes displayed are old and in the process of being retrieved/updated.). I would even rather all quotes be blank, just as when you start the app “fresh“ (Ie it’s not running in background prior to tapping icon).

+ there is no feedback/report issues feature/option (TV more than likely does not care nor wants to hear any user app feedback, similar to the web version of TradingView or the user forums)

Produce/release much more frequent updates to the app. (Check the version history, there is no excuse for the rarity of update releases)

Additionally, people don’t want to read (or waste additional time reading) a witty/humorous /comical change log entries (App Store version history) . Stick to the facts, list relevant changes and improvements, known issues, Boggs planning to be addressed, and move-on. Users are looking for a quick statement of fact.

TradingView Yearly subscription

I’ve sent countless emails regarding my paid account first off they don’t talk to you unless you have a paid account. Secondly, I had fraud on my primary email that I used to sign up then replace that email due to fraud had it updated but then the system did not transfer my account over to, the paid version and therefore my account was stuck in the free version. Been emailing back-and-forth for a months. Later to find that the account I have no longer access to charged me the annual fee again and now I’m disputing that with the bank, and I cannot even access that account any longer to change the settings.

Claimed loss: $960

Desired outcome: Refund or replacement

I have been paper trading for 4 months and I have just noticed a week ago that TradingView's Long and Short Position Calculator Tools are rigged. I can no longer place a Limit Order with a set entry price( I always set a stop and target price as well) that I desire and set, but instead the tool enters me into a trade at Market Price. TradingView Now the ads start for the mobile app?

I’ve been using TV for a while now, and I’ve always found it to be a useful tool for tracking markets and setting levels to make informed trades on my other platform/broker. However, I recently started seeing ads on the mobile app, and it’s been incredibly frustrating. (Started Monday Feb 20 2023) The ads are intrusive and disruptive to the user experience. They take up valuable screen space and make it difficult to focus on the information I need to make informed trades. I understand that TV needs to make revenue, but these ads feel like a step too far even if you’re a basic user. I hope TV can find a better way to monetize their platform without negatively impacting the user experience. Until then, I’ll be looking for alternatives that don’t subject me to constant interruptions and distractions.

TradingView Charts bug consistently

I am a paying member of Tradingview and use the desktop version all the time. As for the mobile version it doesn’t even work. It really is upsetting when someone asks me what I use to chart, but when I go to show them a graph on the mobile app it bugs out. It will load the graph, but within a few seconds reloads and opens apple stock. If I reopen the graph I originally selected this happens again and again...So consistently that I’m considering unsubscribing all together. I have tried closing down the app and reinstalling all together. I can almost guarantee the people I was showing would've paid and used the service for the sole reason I use it, except my presentation of the app is plagued with this bug. Please put a strong effort to fix this for the benefit of both the consumer and producer of the app.

TradingView Missing important features

Still are alert of simple features that just don’t exist

Why can’t I move my watchlist Around putting the one I want or need at the top of the list for the day. Right now I have to rename the watchlist to a name that will come first In the list. Doesn’t seem like a paid service should not allow this for ease of organization.

I can’t set distinct alerts in the trading view app so my alerts are mixed in with twitter alerts and any other alerts I have setup on my Iphone. Not very sophisticated for trading software! Isn’t that the whole purpose of paying for a trading app? I can do all the work on my chart but not being able to have a distinguished sound limits my response time to take action! Not Being able to customize this is so disappointing

Please make these adjustments with the next upgrades!

TradingView Lock tools on start up// colored watchlists

Just a heads up,This isn’t an in depth review, but I’d like to point out some things I’d like to see changed.

There should be an option to have the Lock function activated upon the launch of my mobile app, because often the app will get opened on accident - and then my trend lines and alerts can be moved accidentally as well.

There should be access to the Color coded watch lists that one can make on the desktop version (red/green/blue, etc). I would like quick access to what I’m currently looking at without having to create an entirely new watchlist just for my phone.

Last time I had written a review because there wasn’t a lock button nor undo/redo buttons, but they were added since. We also couldn’t add alerts previous to my last request, but now that’s changed for the better too. And it’s been wonderful! Hopefully you all can add in this next round of requests. Thank you all for your time and help.

TradingView TOTAL SCAM ACTIVITY

In addition to the mentioned below, I’ve tried on July 6 for 2 hours to cancel an auto pay of 14.95. Following TradingView “how to cancel instructions” takes one through a circle by providing NO ICONS to cancel.
There web page says I’ve been a member for 7 years with no date of when I sign-up as well as there is no billing information.
I was told by my bank that I’ll need to cancel my credit card in order to cancel Tradingview’s monthly billing.

In addition to Tradeview on my Phone “not offering an Icon to Cancel” plus the wrong name (lonelymaster31468) on my phone plus Tradeview on my Computer has my correct name (Deniece) but “does not offer an Icon to Cancel” plus indicates I’ve been a member for 7 years (no way). Tradeview does not offer contact by e-mail or phone. I’ve SPENT HOURS going over Tradeview’s instruction regarding “how to cancel” and their app and website does not offer an “icon to cancel”

TradingView Horrible Customer Service

I guess you are taking a page out of Facebooks playbook, maximize profits at all costs. Your website is useless with no customer service number or anyway (that I could find) to CANCEL a subscription. I canceled the automatic renewal on October 18th, the only thing I did see that I could cancel but no this didn’t in fact cancel my subscription, which I was led to believe was the case. October 19, you hit me with a $599.40 charge, causing an overdraft incurred to my account… Here is a hint, if you are going to be taking peoples money, you better have a clear customer service number to manage any issues that may arise. To not have a clearly visible support number a customer can call both in billing and in the help section speaks to a severe lack of business ethics… I am so frustrated with you poor business model. There is no way to cancel a subscription clearly visible anywhere? This is unacceptable on so many levels. Something needs to be done, I feel ripped off at this point snd scammed! I would give you a zero if possible! Horrible!

I have contacted this company 3 times now but they keep saying to write up a support ticket- which I cannot do since I cannot access my paid account-- to write it up- they refuse to call me to address the account and keep asking me to log in-- which I am unable to do--- Absolutely horrible customer service for a financial institution.

TradingView Premium 30 day free trial and 50% discount offer on premium if I sign up within the 30 day free trial

I signed up to TradingView for the first time a couple of days ago, on 12 April 2023. I set up my bot alerts very early this morning (London time) and at 12nn today, 14 April 2023, my 30 day free trial on Premium membership has been canceled without my consent and I miss on trying it for that duration and miss on the opportunity I was offered to get 50% discount if I sign up within the 30 day free trial. This is false advertisement of their advertising on their website on the 30 day trial on Premium and also the 50% discount offered to me if I sign up within the 30 day free trial period. I am complaining about this. This is very frustrating.. as it has deactivated all my bot alerts and so.. is affecting my trading. I understand if there's a mistake, that TradingView will resolve this and offer compensation on this bad service and false advertising. It is affecting my trading and work and giving me a lot of stress, frustration and anxiety.

I would like my 30 day free trial to be reinstated, and be offered a compensation for the trouble. I also missed the 50% discount they offered if I sign up within the 30 days free trial period on Premium. I would like to be compensated for this trouble and would like to be able to do my trading without this kinds of disruption to the service that's harmful to me.

I would appreciate a quick resolution. Thank you.

Kind regards,

Stephen Clark

Update by SteveC2023
Apr 14, 2023 12:10 pm EDT

To add, I opened an account today again, twice, and put in my card, and was not given a 30 day free trial. It's because I didn't have a phone number to call and can't even submit a support ticket as a 'free user,' and thought this would take days or maybe even weeks or months before TradingView agents will read my 'feedback' which is the only thing I could do.. is submit a feedback on their website. I'm losing time and the trades that I want to do that I need to set alerts for my bots. I hope this gets resolved soon. Kind regards, Steve
