I have requested over 5 times for ***; General Manager at the *** location, to send me my documents to complete my permit with the ***. Over a month a ago I was told he was sending it out and I still have not received anything. The second unit was installed back in 7/21 (first unit I had them remove because it did not cool the house down and the house was hotter inside than outside) and I didnt receive the breakdown for the 2nd unit which was different from the first one which I signed for $15,329.I would like the paperwork breakdown of the 2nd unit and the permit information so I can reach out to the city to finalize the permit that Sevice Champions is responsible for applying for.

We understand our client has been waiting for documents regarding permits from the City of Pinole. These documents have been requested multiple times by us to the city. We just recently got a response from the city indicating they have the permits and are sending them to our client right away.
We have confirmation from the city that the permits were successfully hand delivered to our clients address.At that time, the individual who received the permit packet stated they are going to be scheduling their inspection with the city right away.
Since that time, we received a call from our client stating the permit they received from the city is not showing the correct information for the unit installed.
We are working with our client and the City of Pinole to ensure everything is correct and ready for inspection to finalize the permit.
As always, if our client needs any assistance, they are welcome to reach out to us. This will ensure our clients needs are met and heard right away.

We had Service Champions come out to replace a bad fan on our central A/C unit
We had Service Champions come out to replace a bad fan on our central A/C unit. The work was done fine. But the next day the air was not blowing cold. We called them back out. The Tech noted that the unite was around ten years old. Then told us it was not worth fixing because of the age. Parts and labor would not make sense. Then they told us it would coast about 15K-17K to replace with a new one. We" settled for a mini split unite" for 7K. That's all we could afford. After talking to people more that know more about central air than I. We called in a favor ( friend of a friend) that has been in H.A.V.C. for 15 or so years. He came out and asked us what they had done. Then tested the Freon presser. Said it was low and more that likely the problem. He tested for leaks and added the right amount of Freon. The unite has been working fine for over a month. I contacted them about this and they said they would get back to me in 5 days. Its been two weeks. Still nothing.

After reviewing the information provided by *** and information on his account, we see there may be some miss understanding or miss leading information that was provided to our client from the alternate parties mentioned. Our timeline shows we began our relationship with *** in May of 2021. At that appointment, we discovered a fan motor issue, *** decided to move forward with that repair and part was replaced on May 26, 2021.
After that appointment, our client reached out and requested we come out to see why the unit was not working. At this appointment, we discovered there were a few issues still going on with the system, one of which is a failed TXV. In addition, we found his system had water in the emergency drain pain, and that this drain pan was not draining properly Our business practice is to provide our clients with a long-term permanent solution, not a band-aid fix.
We presented a quote for repairs to our client, which totaled $1,318. This quote would fix the main issue for Mr. system, but there are other items that would need to be addressed to get his unit running to the best of its ability. When we presented the repair quote, *** declined repairs and decided to move forward with having us out to go over options for replacement, which is also what our technician recommended based on repairs vs replacement costs.
The appointment with our Comfort Advisor is where *** agreed to move forward with installing the mini split system, rather than a full air conditioning replacement or repairs on the existing system.
There are a couple key points regarding central air conditioning systems and items listed by *** in his complaint. An air conditioning system is a closed system, and it would not lose refrigerant pressure unless there is a leak (example: failed TXV); even with annual maintenance being performed on the system, it would not loose enough refrigerant for it to no longer work. We did not quote refrigerant alone to our client since he had a faulty TXV. As outlined above, not addressing this issue would lead to other issues down the road.
There was a delay with the install process for the mini split *** agreed to purchase from us. This delay resulted in *** purchasing a window air conditioning unit, which we reimbursed him for totaling $535. We agreed to reimburse our client as we want to do what we can for our clients to have a great experience with us and for them to be comfortable in their home.
At this point, we believe we presented all information and details to our client and allowed him to make the best choice for him. Our management team is reaching out to *** to discuss the series of events and information presented to him from our company.
