We visited Ross store number 0414 on September 14 2023 at 17:02 pm to return bathroom rugs that we had purchased the night before at another Ross location. We tried to return the rugs at store number 0414. The cashier strictly refused to acknowledge the receipt and accept the damaged rugs. She asked us to return the items at the store where these rugs were purchased. Upon our insistence, she refunded the amount to us with great difficulty.

We then proceeded to shop in the store and to purchase items worth approximately $100+. One of the items, i.e. mens slippers, had a lock tag on the item. We asked the cashier to remove the tag to allow to try on the slippers. She did not speak English and refused to remove the tag and interacted with the Loss Prevention Staff, i.e. Ismalel. The loss prevention staff had nothing to do with our request to remove the lock tag.

At that point, Ismalel asked us to leave the merchandise on the counter and to leave store not allowing us to make our purchase. It was very disrespectful of him to ask us to leave the store. There were other customers around who heard the conversation and assumed that we had shoplifted the items since he asked to leave the store. I mentioned to Ismalel and the manager on duty that I work for the Law Enforcement and did not appreciate being treated like a thief. In return, the MOD stated that I had tried to threaten her with my job title. I feel I should be compensated for the disrespectful behaviour of Ismalel and the MOD. Moreover, Ismalel stated "you can complain about me to anyone you wish but no one can do anything". Finally, I left the store without making any purchase, which is a loss to the store. I hope this matter will be investigated and that you will respond to me about this complaint.
