We go to PF almost every morning before work and early on the weekends. We like PF a lot because they have multiple locations that are close to us. WE have been customers for many years and have never had a problem which is why we were so shocked by what happened at Stony Point Richmond VA, location on the morning of Jan 19 2024 around 8:30 - 9:00 am.
While we were running on the treadmills a worker at PF was spraying some kind of aerosol spray directly in front of us, which has a very noxious powerful smell. When we made the manager aware of the issue with the overpowering smell, we were not met with any kind of grace and humility that you would expect. We were met with hostility and the manager made accusations that we were troublemakers. At the end of the workout, we apologized to the desk attendant and was met with more confrontation and withstood several verbal attacks from him including calling my wife crazy, over and over. Now we are not sure if we are welcome at PF or just not this particular gym? We are not sure what exactly was the offense, and why the staff and manager were so defensive and confrontational with us about this (is there a drug problem at PF?) IT was embarrassing to be confronted in front of other customers in such an unprofessional manner and without any decent decorum. We have other gym memberships, and we are happy to leave if you really don't want us.
Claimed loss: We just have hurt feelings and are confused and bewildered by the behavior of your local staff at Stony Point Richmond. This staff has a lot to learn about customer service.
Desired outcome: Having the manager reprimanded and told not to let staff spray aerosol cleaners near people working out. We think it is reasonable to not have to breath chemicals while jogging.
