My Wife & I are writing to submit a complaint regarding the timeshare We purchased from Holiday Inn. We were initially offered a $200 gift card to attend a 90-minute presentation, which turned into a six-hour ordeal. During this presentation, We were promised a vacation ownership that would allow Us to travel anywhere, at any time, for free. We were also told that the timeshare would not only cover the cost of our vacations but would also increase in value, making it a wise investment for Our children.
However, since purchasing this so-called "investment," We have yet to use Our timeshare once. The resorts We were promised are always booked up, and the travel expenses are a financial burden We cannot afford. Moreover, We have yet to benefit from this so called “Vacation Club”.
Despite multiple attempts to cancel Our membership, We have been met with nothing but silence from Holiday Inn. We have reached out to customer service, attempted to use the online portal, and called numerous phone numbers, but nobody seems willing to help Us. It is incredibly frustrating; especially given the financial strain this unnecessary expense is adding to Our lives.
What angers Us the most is that We were lied to during the sales pitch. We were never informed that the resorts are frequently booked up and that the "free" vacations We were promised would require significant travel expenses, resort fees, etc. Additionally, We were told multiple price points on multiple occasions when the information could have been presented upfront, saving us all time. Every single person we spoke with that day said “oh, yes, I am an owner as well.”
Holiday Inn needs to take responsibility for their misleading sales tactics and refund Our investment, and We urge you to take Our issue seriously. We are requesting that Our membership be canceled and that a full refund of all expenses paid to date be issued promptly. If this issue is not rectified, We are willing to take legal measures to resolve it.
We are beyond frustrated and disappointed by the experience that We have had with Holiday Inn, and We hope you take this matter seriously. As a paying customer, We deserve honesty, transparency, and empathy, none of which We have received thus far.
