Contractor 411 is a scam! Beware they are still trying to scam people on Craigslist! They charge you for a so called background check because working on bank properties its a requirement. Then in turn you never get bank foreclosure leads. We signed up Jan /09 and never got a foreclosure lead. We did request leads and received for residential work however they were all bogus and after 6 months I asked for a refund. I didn't even get a response back after 2 seperate requests for our money back. Truly amazing that many people have the same complaints. I hope someone sues them one day and also reports them to BBB. Don't be scammed out of $99.00. It's bad enough with the economy these days that you should throw away another $99.00. Pissed off California!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I have had the same negative experience with Contractor 411. They have taken my $99 dollars with zero leads. I have a Bachelors in Construction Management, and 15 years of experience in remodelling on all levels. I have a restoration company out of southern Indiana, and have had little luck with online refferal 'agencies'. These people are frauds and theives and need to be stopped.
Do not believe the "handyman" who says he did get business from Contractor411! It is a SCAM. We have only received 4 bogus leads in 3 month. Contractor411 doesn't even send us any leads anymore (not that we want them). Or respond when we email or call to complain. Do not fall for their SCAM!
I have had a very different experience with this company. I have been a handyman for this company for almost a year and I have recieved work form them...both residential and bank foreclosures. They don't keep me busy on a full time basis but it has been great filler work for me. I have had experiences with perspective clients not always returning my e-mails, but I don't think that is any fault to the company because some respond and some don't.

I have had similar zero service experiences. I am a handyman with a very broad competitive range of service and completely positive 30 year reputation. They took my $99 for a bogus "background investigation". They did send 30 totally non-responsive "leads". I responded promptly to 20 with 2 or 3 follow ups each. Not one ever responded over 3 months of wasting my time. The leads never contained any phone numbers - only e-mail addresses and from my perspective were completely phony.
I have time to bury this scam……..
