deceptive business practices
I made plans to move from WA state to SD. After being emails and then phoning about whether my phones would receive reception is Sioux Falls, SD I got the runaround: "depends on the type of phone of you have" "depends on the plan" "depends on the number". Mind you their website HAS the information for both phones, the addresses and everything since I knew where I was moving to.
Once in SD, my son's Samsung got spotty reception bt text was ok...my Galaxy 3 was find. However, when I looked at the debit to refill --- Straight Talk changed me the WA state SALES TAX with is 2+ % higher, than it is in South Dakota. AGAIN, the runaround with slight of hand excuses. My son's card was SD tax, mine was WA state tax (and they refused to refund the difference although his was purchases first and they are listed on the SAME account with the same address using the same CC.

no good service
Straighttalk is not willing to help me clarify my issue on my phone. I bought a $379.45 after tax, and cannot get my phone to activate. They are scammer, they think that they are slick. They mistake is them and Samsung. But they have me go through hours and hours of waiting, just to talk to a representative and still they hang up on me. If I don't get it solve pretty soon, I'll get all my family member and friends to go to Verizon. I have put on hold for over 1 1/2 hours, and still waiting... while I type up this complaint

customer service
Switching from at&t to s/t, I have run into a wall of incompetence. I upgraded one of three lines to the 45$ plan with a new phone. s/t assigned the upgraded phone a number from one of my other 45$ lines making that line and the new phone inactive. three days later the new phone is finally working but they are not able to reactivate the other because it is not in the same area where it was activated although still in ny state.in their faqs it clearly states that a phone can be reactivated in a different zip code yet they are unable to do so with my phone. I have to go to the expense of having the phone shipped back to original zip in order for them to attempt to reactivate a phone that they were were responsible for deactivating, and, they will only compensate for service-time lost. I am totally pissed with s/t and will leave asap.
This is the worst customer service I have EVER experienced in 60 years.
The first CS was in Philipines, wasted hours getting the run around. PLEASE NOTE, not only do they not speak English, this was just the jerk around call. I had to repeat every word 5 or 6 times, then they repeat every sentence back a few times to "confirm it"
This started because they "overnighted" a phone to me for a week. Fedex finally got the box 6 days later, and delivered it the next MONDAY, because they checked the "weekdays only" on Friday. This is after sending a email (email number 5) that it would be there tomorrow on the previous Friday.
It took about EIGHT HOURS getting jerked around to finally get a phone number transfered.
ALSO, the "headquarter" number in "Miami" is now in Columbia. They lie. This is the "manager" Perline, at [protected]. She probably is in Florida, since I got the number from Miami Police.
After six days of getting jerked around from the CS, she claimed it is because I am "rude". Rude seems to be refusing to answer the same idiotic questions for the 20th time and answering "get manager". (I donot start out "rude" I tried to use the idiots at least 50 times, since my grandparents didn't speak English very well and I understand that you learn your langauge and ALWAYS drag the accent with you. )
After filing a complaint with the manager in Miami, the CS in Comumbia illegally ported my number, so I got a message from Verizon about not being able to identify the phone. This took half a day to fix.
I have got to leave and get another phone company, and port the number, or I could get a few more pages. BYE.
phones and customer service
Upon believing their ads...I switched to Straight Talk...Could not keep my phone number as advertised. could only make and receive calls and plain text, multimedia and web access did not work. I went to walmart, bought a Straight Talk phone. When attempted to switch/activate it was told by Straight Talk that it would not work in my area. (bought 20 miles away). I have spent approximately 25 hours on phone with Straight Talk customer service. None of them know what they are doing or talking about. Got different answers from each person talked to. They are overseas. Impossible to speak to a supervisor as they say they are the supervisor. Yeah right! Was told to go to Walmart and call straight talk and tell them which phones they have so they could tell me which one will work!
I have tried and tried to get them to understand that my service is not working they keep telling me over and over that my phones shows active on their computer. After finally getting very aggravated with them and my forth phone call I informed them that if the phone was active I sure as hell wouldn't keep calling them. The customer service department sucks they have no clue what they are doing and how to help you as a customer. A very unhappy customer at this time !
I was on here complaining too until I found this email address. I tried it and they fixed my problem really quick. You might want to give it a try. Email them at ST.CorpResolutionTeam@straighttalk.com. Just give them your name, contact number and your cell phone number or serial number. They will fix it.
they charged an anonymous person's credit card! won't refund unless they complain and straight talk won't attempt to contact them!
To begin, we bought a $45 unlimited card to refill our phone for the first time.. Before we got to use it, we got a message saying something like, "Thank you for purchasing minutes!". Perplexed, we checked our account online. Horrified, we saw billing information and the auto-fill option set to on! We just checked it the night before and we never submitted billing info and auto-fill was definitely off. We feel like we have been scammed, and just purchased a $45 refill card that's worthless (before that we accidentally bought a $30 refill card that, for no reason at all, would not work. We were unaware that this wouldn't work and I can't find any documentation that explains why. We just wrote it off as "a mistake that must have been ours..."). We call up customer "service". We couldn't understand her and she couldn't understand us! We heard more non-English than English. After straining to understand and very slow talking, turns out that... it wasn't our billing info! Someone else was being charged! Seriously? How? How could someone else's billing info get on our account that uses our e-mail address and is password protected with completely random letters and numbers? It was like a reverse credit card scam! Well, they did remove this immediately from our account, but when we inquired if they were going to contact the person who owns the card and remove the charge, they said, "No. They must call and complain." Wow! They aren't going to remove the charge from this anonymous person's card unless they complain! Here is the weird part; after we talked to them, our services got really bad just minutes afterward! We can't contact Apple because our call will be dropped every time! Our voice echos and sounds like a robot, and this only happened immediately after we complained! We are not implying they are intentionally doing this, but others have complained about the same exact thing (after a compliant, bad reception happens). Very odd that we have nothing but dropped calls and "robot-like" voice after all of this. The price is not worth it. Definitely don't give billing info to them because you may be paying for someone else's phone!

credit card fraud
In 2011, incurred charge of 182 dollars by Tracfone in Ordlando Fl on a credit card given to Straight Talk for auto refill. Issued a complaint with credit card fraud line and they released me from liability and informed me of the charge was for a phone (Tracfone) in Ordlando Fl. Incurred another charge for a phone they said was on auto refill and was not and a walmart card was used; so Straight Talk was paid twice. Tried twice to resolve. Credit Card Company will be called again for wrongful charge. Tonight talked to Straight Talk (Roekay) and she said transfer to a higher supervisor but got a recording of their hours. DO NOT GIVE STRAIGHT TALK YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER FOR AUTO REFILL-DO SO AT YOUR ON PERIL! I will have auto stickers for Straight Talk poor service and credit card security for auto refill since I own a sign shop and they will be free.
can not call united kingdom
when i try to call the United Kingdom I get a message that says You can not call out due to service area. Code number 47431 this has happen 4 times in the last 4 months. the first time it took me one month to get this resolve. No body in the company knew what that code number meant not even the corporate office. So the first time they decided to dial out from there phone from the corporate office and they were getting the same code number. so if you get that code number It is the problem in the United Kingdom on there lines. Make sure you talk to corporate because no one else understand that code number. Getting fed up with this international calling with the is company But they do have to the best rates for international calling

won't replace
I ordered an AT&T Micro SIM card from Straight Talk. I received a regular replacement SIM card from them in the mail. It came with a paper with the Tracfone, Net10, and Straight Talk logos at the top, and it started by saying, "...enclosed you will find your replacement SIM card." After talking to a girl on the phone for a half hour, I was told that she couldn't find that SIM card number in their system. They didn't know where I got it from. She said that my Micro SIM card was mailed to my address and delivered on 7/19/12. I had the check the SIM number for what she said they sent me, and said it had been activated. Her idea was that someone swapped out my mail once it was delivered. Really? When I asked if I could report it stolen and have them cancel it, she told me I couldn't do that because it wasn't activated under my account. Uh, hello? How does that make any sense? She said Straight Talk would do nothing for me. They would not send me another card and there are no refunds on SIM cards. Of course, if I want to use their service, I will need to order another Micro SIM card. Yeah right!
I was able to find my tracking number today. It shows that the package was accepted at a Post Office, but there's no further information. So the card they supposedly sent did not get delivered to me. I called my Postmaster who looked it up on her computer. She said they had 1, 000 pieces in that shipment. When the USPS gets that many at once, they don't scan the packages individually. Straight Talk would've given them a paper with a list of what they had, and the USPS would have scanned that. So she doesn't think it really even made it to the USPS. And the delivery date of 7/19 that the rep gave me... that was the ESTIMATED delivery date.
Now I have verification from the USPS that it wasn't received. Now maybe I can do something about it.
(I believe what happened is someone at Straight Talk swapped SIM cards. He probably sold my Micro SIM card to someone else who activated it and sent me the replacement SIM just so I would think there was a mixup or something.)

bad phones
On am on my 3rd Optimus Q, the phone constantly makes calls, when in my belt pouch, on a table, doesnt matter. They have replaced it at the store, in the mail now on my 3rd replaement. Their service is B A D. Customer no service constantly says "thank you" "how can i help" but never fixed anything. I have not had my phone for a week now. They make you send the phone back before they will replace it! Will not take a credit card to guarantee that you are sending it they must have the phone first! They have had mine for 2 days now and still have not sent a replacement. DONT BUY A STARIGHT TALK PHONE you will regret it.. Carl
no warning disconnect
sprint per straighttalk shut off my daughters unlimited cellphone service
alleging overuse of data with no prior warning and only verbal accusations of
overuse of this unlimited plan and refuses to provide any records of their
accusations without a court order because (they) have shut phone off. They
will turn service back on only if i buy another phone, phone they turned off is
still in first year warranty. Accusations of chat lines was their verbal reason
why they shut off phone, they refuse to give any written reason. My daughter
denies she has ever talked on one or has any desire to and was anxious for phone records to disprove their allegations, only to find fine print at bottom of form they emailed, keep in my sprint/straighttalk turned phone off:( If
the telephone number for which you are seeking call detail records is
inactive, the only way you may obtain call detail records relating to
the inactive phone is through the service of a valid subpoena or Court
order requiring the production of your call detail records.) Quite convenient for them! BUYERS BEWARE! No justice for me or my
daughter, they take my money and run, they take her phone service away during
the deadliest heatwave in Indiana history, no proof of their accusations. Shame
on HEARTLESS straighttalk and sprint! TMOBILE $50 no contract phone smokes straighttalk poor and injustice service all the way. Phone quality with TMOBILE blows away straighttalk junk phones too. LIVE and LEARN.
service area reception
Worst service, horrible customer support. I have been on the phone numerous times to these people and have spent 10 -20 hours trining to get straight answers from them and never can. I switched over my phone to them and have had nothing but problems and lies. First I was told that they use Verizon towers because Verizon is the only carrier that works in my area, that was a lie. After I received my phone I had poor reception and sometimes none at all. Called again and they said it depends on my phone. Tried to get an answer on what phone should I ge using and still never got an answer. The price is a great deal if you have the right area and phone I guess. It's been 4 months and still can't get answers. I switched three phones and spent $600 dollars on phones that are now door stops. I finally found the phone number for the US location and they were just as bad as the overseas people. Bye the way, the coverage map shows my location as getting great service.

Yes, I agree...Straight Talk has the worst customer service ever. I had to call them to order a phone and they sent me the wrong phone. I called back and I tried to explain to them the situation and they still sent another phone that I did not request. Please use caution when dealing with Straight Talk Wireless. I eventually went to a store to purchase one.
Straight Talk has the WORST customer service. The main office is located in Miami, but the people that answer the phone are located in the Phillipines. They do not clearly understand how to solve your problem. I've been on the phone with them for nearly 25 hours from 2 to 3 days so that they can TRY to resolve my problem and they never did. I'm very frustrated with them. Please use caution about choosing Straight Talk. They suck!
taxes
Purchased Straight talk phone with the one month talk, text and web. I actually liked the service better than my old service provider for $55 less per month. I am in a major city, so only downside was limit of phone choice. Went to purchase an additional 3 months of service. Instead of going to Wal Mart online, I went to Straight Talk online. I was over charged like crazy. They charged an addtional 2.1% in sales taxes. I live in the county (no city taxes) and was charged 7% instead of teh 4.9 that would have been appropriate. My question, is if they pay the states, counties and cities based on what they sell by zip code, then what do they do with the over charges? I think there is some kind of law broken. Any attornies want to file a class action? I FOUND THE CARD CHEAPER ONLINE AT WALMART where they collected the appropriate taxes (4.9 local, and 1.7 Federal and E911). and it was $5 cheaper. STRAIGHT TALK would not refund the first charge to my credit card so I could get it from WalMart. NO REFUNDS EVER - so beware. I did negotiate an additional 7 days which was the $10 difference, but that is the best I could do. BEWARE on any renewal. Check the prices before you buy! In addition, I live in a state where no online purchase tax is due - so total from both WALMART online and STRAIGHT TALK online should have been 1.7% Federal.

dishonest and deceptive
Straighttalk is the worst. I purchased a 30 card. They shut my phone off and I had 202 minutes left. What is funny is how they say that when you call *611 it is a free call but how is it free and they are deducting the mintues from your usage. Then when you call *611 option 1 then 4 to check your balance they say it is a free text message but it isn't because they deduct the message from you usage as well. So they lie all the way around. I asked several reps is there something wrong with my phone,, is it defective or does it have a recall? They said "no'. Then all of a sudden months later they say your phone is defective. They are trying to tell me that the call timer on my phone doesn't work properly. Excuses, excuse. Has it that and I have the same phone that they are currently selling in the stores. A bunch of bs. They just want people to spend on a 45 card. They take your minutes and then blame it on the phone doesn't work. Then you get people that you can't understand and they don't understand you. Really! I truly think they have a warehouse outside of the states for their business. I wish I can file a class action suit because they are horrible. It is straighttalk, tracphone and net 10. Why would the government allow this to go on and the ftc is a big joke. If they need to save money get rid of them. Then what is funny they cut my service of two days prior to end date, and say oh you have to buy a new phone. If not then we will permenately deactivate your account. Ok! They have to be stopped. People put there hard earn money out there and pay for service and you don't get what you pay for. A bunch of mess. I will be investigating on how I can file a class action suit.

In the past 24 hrs I have spoke to 19 reps including 4 managers to resolve a issue of them taking 2 back to back $49.32;Payments off my card but provided no service.I had to go buy a pin card to get service so now I paid triple. The put a pending hold on the transitions but plucked the money out. Called my card co.who gave me info for the process of getting a refund.Straighttalk agreed to the transaction and said it would put money back on my card within 6 hours..lol. Now in between all this ..not my first Rodeo with this corrupt co( same thing 2 months ago but didnt catch it. Every time I call I get a name, Id number for rep and to avoid repeating my issue over and over I straight up ask for a Manager..9 times out of 10 you are either hung up on or waiting in the Straightalk limbo of hell for over 20+ min which only once Someone answered. A manager named Maria..ID numer 53765.Her job is to try to make you think you did something wrong and your stupid, cant spell, should know better..etc.She knew my deal cuz I dont play with words or MY money. But she had bad training and I totally called her bluff with one name and she got so mad she attempted to change the policy refund etc. That straightalk had agreed upon. Now if this all sounds crazy well it was..These ppl are ruthless and corrupt. She was trying to piss me off enough that I would just give up.She was a real [censored].After informing her that straightalk will refund my money because i have everything documented and Recorded, including our conversation..She was GONE.! Just like that . Like ya Maria.. I got you and all your little straight talk imps on record and I will do whatever it takes to get my money your company has stolen from me.. this time.
Ok.So after that drama..I called my bank to just cancel my card and dispute the transaction because really..I was PTSD on straightalk for the day.F it. Well..my bank said with straight talk a normal dispute is not normal and there are cancelled cards..certified letters months of waiting for my money to be returnef. WTF.Keeping my card activated with the pending purch.from the thieving co to be continued in the morning. And why is this purchase still pending? Maybe they like a challenge? IDK? But they def.messed with the wrong American and I see a Class action in my
Our future.So..Look forward to the update tomorrow 2/22/20. Wish me luck and take bets on what happins 😉

I received a text message from Straight Talking saying I was able to get a 2 line disconnect. Great, me and my husband both have straight talk so why not have our due dates on the same day and save money. I followed the link provided in the email to set everything up. When I entered our phone numbers they didn’t recognize the devises. I called customer service and the rep told me that the only way to enroll is to get a service card from Walmart. I thought that was odd as i always pay with a debit card so I asked to speak with a supervisor to clarify. The supervisor said the exact same thing. I bought the service plan and went online and it said the same thing. I called customer service and was told I must have bought a “bad” service card to go and return it and try again. Walmart won’t return it. It says right there on the card non-refundable. I then talk to another supervisor who told me that they have no record of my on file and if I wanted to enroll I would have to get a new number. I explained that I have been a customer for over 8 years and I will not change my number. I went online and updated my information with the company. I tried again to enroll the phones and this time it said that the service plan has already been used. I called again, this time I was angry. I was without a phone service, getting the run around, nobody from the company seem to know what was going on. The only goal they had was to get me off the phone as quickly as possible. They told me whatever I wanted to hear without fixing the problem. Customer service rep told me to go back to Walmart and return the card. I told him Walmart will not exchange the card, I’ve already tried, and that I wanted Straight Talk to reimburse my money. Finally, the rep gave my a ticket # and told me to email in a copy of the receipt, front and back of the service card and it will be worked immediately. While here i am over a month later. I have emailed them the information over 100 times, I’ve called customer service, I’ve chatted with reps online, I’ve sent countless number of emails to the manager and corporate emails, I’ve filed a complaint again then with the BBB, and of last week I sent a complaint into my attorney generals office. I have save emails and screen shot chats. All of these over a refund. Nobody can tell me what’s going on, when I ask if there’s any other way I can get this information to who’s ever working on it. I’m told the same thing. They only accept emails. That’s my current nightmare with this company. Again, it was by their advice I purchased this card, it’s their system not allowing my to enroll in the “special offer” they sent, and they absolutely will not take responsibility. I’m not asking for an apology i just want my money.

criminals illegal swipping straight numbers and using the service plan minutes
How can we (all of us complainting) initiate a class action lawsuit against straight talk.
Im tired and exhausted from dealing with straight talk and there lack of customer services reps. I understand that there reps are based overseas but that is no excuse to not care about customer satisfaction at all. I have reported it to the bbb. I have also called straight talk resulotion center at [protected] ext 3324, karen calderon at 305.715.3634 but it seems that no one cares. now I am without a phone and they have told me that there is absolutely no refund. what am I to do? this issue of illegal number transfer has become very prominate in my community and the surrounding areas. I have no ideal what to do about straight talk. I wish all of us could initiate a class action lawsuit against straight talk?

How to file a class action lawsuit
There have been so many people who have been victims of straight talk. Many have had there active cell number transferred to another customer or sold to another provider and was told my the straight talk offshore reps that there is nothing they could do. This action left many without a cell phone or having to receive a new cell number. This is unpractical and very unprofessional. The reps are quick to say that they are offshore and is unable to help. What can be done to alleviate this issue?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I had Straight talk phone service for almost 5 years and one morning I woke up to my phone being deactivate after I paid the $130 3 month plan service and so I called Straight talk and they reactived my service but with a new phone number and when I asked about why I couldn't have my phone number I had for 5 years back they told me that Verizon was now the carrier for the phone number it's been a year now and I still haven't been able to gain access to my old number and now I'm dealing with identity theft
In February of this year my sim was swapped and they told me there is nothing they can do about it. They were able to get into all my accounts and wreaked havoc on my life. They somehow learned my new phone number and have since sent anonymous texts asking “how does it feel to be violated” This is all a direct result of their poor service and I lost hundreds of dollars from phone cards, to Amazon accounts being pillaged and then frozen as a result. Now I can’t even get an Amazon account with my current number. I wish to seek an attorney for all damages, mental and otherwise. This year has been like torture wondering if they will do it again. They stole my identity and straight talk owes me a settlement.
If anyone can help me get the ball rolling, I sure would appreciate it!
Thanks,
Extremely unsatisfied customer
Straight talk took my personal hotspot off my phone and said I had exhausted all my data for it and I had only used it 1 time this month for 30 minutes and that was the day they removed it. I called straight talk customer service not only to get the same robot answers out of them but being told they was gonna send me to someone higher than them just to be hung up on. I called everyday all day long for 5 days starting August 11, 2022 til August 15, 2022. My issue is still not resolved on that and to top everything off for the past 4 or 5 months since a new tower by us has been put in by another tower blocking the old tower and leaving everyone around here with slow connections and losing even our antenna tv channels durning certain times of the day and even at through the night. We are frustrated and disappointed in how we are being done when we trusted our providers with giving us what we pay for. Where we are buying the $55 plan that says unlimited data and 15 g of personal hotspot and up until this month on the hotspot which I have used tons of times on my laptop when I’m away from home and not using my WiFi at my house and I never ran out of personal hotspot. So from July 28, 2022 thru August 11, 2022 they are say I exhausted my hotspot. The customer service, chat and the corporate office are extremely rude and sound like robots because they say the exact same thing and say it’s your phone and they need to send a code to get in your phone and check it. I allowed it several times til I caught on and then refused it. They are not want to own up it’s on their end and it isn’t not a one of our faults because everything was fine up until these last 3 to 4 months then bam in 3 days all across the world service just went to crap. Something needs to be done I’m done playing games cause one thing you most definitely do not do is play with my money that is already hard to come by.

MOWGA!
Make Our World Great Again!
Yeah i hate straighttalk, if they were sued back in 2012 then why are they continuing to do the same [censored] several years later?
60GB data cap does not ammount to being UNLIMITED.
I have missed job opportunities due to being shut off, because i like streaming hulu, netflix, youtube, spotify, you know the daily crap every one else has no problems streaming, While i have a problem with having to buffer a youtube video at 240p this is even after i put a new card in. They continue til this day to still Falsely Advertise UNLIMITED and "highspeed" as well as selling refurbs as NEW.
I DO NOT WANT TO FILE A LAWSUIT
INSTEAD I WOULD RATHER SEE THIS COMPANY 100% ELIMINATED.
I dont want anymore people getting Fd over by this shady corporation.
If manufacturers understood how StraightTalk makes their devices utterly useless pieces of crap manufacturers would be wise to not distribute their brand amongst StraightTalk... in the end it makes both look bad. I for one will never use StraightTalk again and from all the issues with them i refuse to buy another Samsung device ever again just out of spite, which i used to be a proud supporter (fanboy if you will) of Samsung but now i can not trust them due to all the issues i have had with StraightTalk selling me an old refurb as a new device.
If or rather WHEN they get sued again make sure this time its for everything they got, so this shady company can never ever get back up and sell people lies again.
Heres the truth though.
Speedtests ALL result in speeds comparable to 3G... with out LTE. (Even though you paid for 4Glte)
unlimited is LIMITED at 60GB of use and can be shut off if they deem "excessive use", which excessive use is apparently normal daily use on any other service.
They claim to have wide coverage which is another huge lie.
I cant even walk down the block with out dropping calls, I literally have to sit still as if im on an old landline, definitly not what i intended for a MOBILE device.
Another false claim is their network being reliable, it is by far the most unstable and unreliable crap i have ever used! its sad when dial up out ranks your service in stability, and old DSL out ranks your speeds.
A world with out StraightTalk is a world i want to wake up to and a world we should all strive for... all shady corporations like this NEED BE ABOLISHED
I say the same about Apple, selling their devices (with the same exact specs as other devices) for triple the price ...its nearly criminal and should be treated as such. With Apple you are literally paying 75% just for the logo and brand name. With this notion i should make a line of laptops pop a lame logo of a banana on that crap and sell it for 5x its worth and value then throw a little RGB on their labal it a new device and sell it for 10x the original, just for the flashy lights.
Our world is crap because we dont regulate these shady practices as needed!
I live in Panama City Florida we was hit hard by hurricane Michael and had no service for days and then spotty service. Verizon whos towers straight talk buys service from gave the customers three free months of service. Verizon from my understanding from Verizon customer service said they compensated Verizon for the down time and figured they would pass the reimbursements on to customers in our area. Straight Talk says they will NOT compensate for loss of service. I paid for the service and should be compensated as well. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and if it is not resolve I will be looking for a attorney.
I would also like to be in on the lawsuit. I have been a customer for about 8 years and I have never had the problems I have since the company went to the $55.00 UNLIMITED plan. My service was suspended due to over usage. I talked to on customer service rep that actually called me a liar when I informed her I do not have a laptop or comuter. My husband works midnight and he sleeps during the day and it is just me and I am not on the phone NO WERE NEAR ENOUGH TO USE THAT MUCH DATA. I talked to a superviser named Sally and I have never wanted to go through the phone and slap someone like I wanted to her. I purchased another 2gb for $10.00 and it was never added and she tried to tell me it had been. Then I get Jessel (forgive if that is not how he spells his name) he then told me it had been added but how could it be added when I kept getting a message that data had been blocked? I finally got it straight with the 6th call and 7th person. I have a dictionary if the folks at straight talk need it to look up the word UNLIMITED! THEY ARE FALSE ADVERTISING UNLIMITED. THEY DETERMINE WHEN YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR UNLIMUTED. ITS FUNNY THEY CAN TELL ME ALL THE DATA I USED AND ACTUALLY ACCUSE ME OF SHARING DATA BUT THEY CANT TELL ME WITH WHAT DEVICE I SHARED. I WILL BE SWITCHING TO US CELLULAR...
I am looking to join someone in a class action lawsuit against straight talk. You should look into Consumer Cellular also. They are us based and even though they are a little higher priced if you use a lot of data, they are great with customer service.
I am looking for an attorney now to take the case, I am sure we will have hundreds joining the lawsuit. Straight Talk Lies and are very abusive verbally to their customers. the worst company I have ever delt with. I refuse to pay them another penny of my hard earned money.
StraightTalk is a part of TracFone and TracFone is Consumer Cellular
They are all bad and all shady and all need not exist.
I am looking to file a law suit against straight talk. I purchased two phones, over a year ago. They never advised me they were locked. I specifically asked if they were lock (via their live chat). I was told they are not locked. I have been locked into a 12 month requirement without my knowledge. I have yet with complaint after complaint been able to transfer my phone. I paid for insurance on one. I was never informed of the phones being locked, nor was I provided their "FCC Rules" as they tell me regarding their unlocking policy. I NEVER would have purchased the phones from them, I am not finacially able to be in a 12 month "agreement" called a contract with any wireless provided. They told me I didn't have insurance and refused to repair it. To make matters worse I was called a [censored] by the supervisor of the unlocking department in the background as he hung up on me. I actually wasn't able to say one word to supervisor as he "spoke over" me the entire call. This is the extremely short version of what I have been put through. I am looking for others who would like to join me to sue straight talk (ie: trace phone). please contact me if you would like to join me in this law suit I will be filing in the near future.
I would love to join you I have been on the phone getting hung up on all weekend long and all I have got as solution is contact samsung about my phone because straight talk uses the same reliable data counter company as Verizon, AT&T, ALLTEL, and multiple other companies but I have been told I exceed the 62gb limit on my unlimited plan in the first week every month for the last year and they do my wife's phone the same way but my wife is on wifi all day and when I asked how they know when you have mobile data turned on or off I was told by a manager at corporate that there is no way to know whether it is on or off it is estimated how much data you use daily
I called back today to try once more to get my data issue resolved because I need my Google maps I have to drive Jacksonville airport tomorrow and to Tampa Saturday for my younger brothers funeral both trips will be from Tallahassee and i have no idea where im going and i was told that it wasnt their fault and that straight talk doesnt sell samsung devices so all i can do is buy a new phone and service card also when i asked to speak with someone in america i was told that the person i was talking to was in america and they were in the " CITY OF CALIFORNIA " and yes i know i typed city and not state I'm beyond tired of these crooks

I purchased a "new" phone that was promised to be serviceable in my area. These facts where not the case. The phone was locked to another provider, a refurbished phone. I was not able to use it at all. When confronted I was met with attitudes, representatives hanging up, my number was sold to another company, now the service plan I purchased is not being refunded. I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions how to go about a class action suit on them. In this entire fiasco I had my medications messed with not receiving calls from doctors for needed treatment. Due to the phone not working. As well as the inability to purchase a replacement. surely, there is more than sit and gripe that can be done over this.

unsolicited promotional texts
I purchased my first (and probably last) straight talk phone about a month ago. I then purchased a minutes and texts package that included 1000 minutes and 1000 texts. Since then, I have been receiving countless unsolicited promotional texts from CMT and NASCAR from Straight Talk. I have phoned straight talk several times and been told that the issue would stop within ten days of my complaints. Well, it's well over two weeks later and I am still getting these stupid texts that are wasting my 1000 texts. I am not happy! It's really annoying. I had posted a complaint on the board and someone from strait talk e-mailed me and said the same thing- the texts would stop after 10 days. Big lie! I was told by one of the reps that I would be given 300 free additional texts when I purchased my next package, but I don't know if it will actually happen. Partly because they haven't been reliable with their word so far and partly because I may not choose to use straig talk any longer. Come on people, can't you find a way to make these stupid texts stop? If you can't even do something this easy, why would I trust you with my service? I would appreciate some help from someone who can actually do something before I decide to cancel straight talk and tell everyone I know not to bother with them because of my experience.
Thank you,
Tina

double charged my debit card
I forgot that I was on auto refill. I then added money to my account on the day of my service end date. The following day, I noticed that I was charged twice on the same day. I called customer service and I was told that the money they added was from my debit card that I had entered the day before and the money from the auto refill was in reserve. Well, a month later when I needed to add money, low and behold there was nothing in reserve. I had cancelled the auto refill after my mistake the month before so that I wouldn't get charged again. I called customer service and they were trying to tell me that one was a pre authorization and one was an authorization. Wrong! I had the bank statement in front of me and nothing we put back into my account. Pre authorizations are usually for a dollar and then the full amount is then taken out. I don't know who they are trying to scam. I have sent them an email with the intentions of forwarding the information on the attorney general. I'm not looking for anything besides my account getting the proper credit.

I paid for a years service with Straight Talk and signed up for auto refill. Six months later they deducted another years payment that I didn't notice at the time. then six months later they deducted another years payment. $553 dollars a pop. After hours on the phone with them they acknowledged the discrepancy they said they couldn't reimburse the money but would give me the additional service I was charged for. I relented and accepted their terms. I was given a reference number and a pin number. I checked my account on their website and saw that is was there so assumed all was taken care of. At the point that this supposedly credited year of service was suppose to begin my service was shut off. I checked my account on their website and saw that their discrepancy and my credit had been removed from my account. I contacted them by phone they said they had no record of it and could do nothing about it. I gave them the reference number and after saying let me talk to my supervisor several times their conclusion was they couldn't do anything. I do have copies of the account when it did show their error but unfortunately not the correction that was once on my account. Now I am out $553.63 to be exact and trying to figure out what to do about it.
I googled this topic and the first complain about double charging I found was in 2012. Now is the end of 2018 and Straight Talk still has the same "issue".
I'm over charged on my debit card once again... Now. One charge for $ 50.59 has turned into 4 charges that total $202.36!
I will never use my debit card to purchase air time minutes again.
I called to complain and they tell me my debit card was declined.. Which was not the issue. But - I have 202.36 deducted from my account.
I want my money back... [censored]!
Now - I have to go to the bank during my lunch hour and i'm sure i'll be late getting back to work. Hey - straight talk, do you want to pay me.. For that hour of work i'm going to miss this today?!
They did it to me, they charged me on February 20, 2017, and then the same charge the next day 21st. I called them and the women who could barley understand English said she said the double charge, but kept me on the phone for an hour saying that she was waiting for her tools. She eventually stopped talking to me but I could hear her in the back breathing and talking to other people. I was on the phone for 2 hours or more waiting for them to fix this. I then disputed second charge with my credit card company and they deactivated my phone, saying that I was flagged for suspicious financial transaction. Since they were not going to give me the month I payed for, I disputed the other charge, telling my credit card company what happend, and there going to be an investigation. There is even an alert on the better business bureau about them offering unlimited data AT&T never agreed too, and customers are getting what they were promised. They are a company of scam artists, and it's better to pay more and go straight to AT&T, then to deal with the scam and people who can't speak English. But anyways, I'm going to post the transaction, and the refund from the second fraudulent charge on the 21st, which they deactivated my service for. The 21 charge was removed as you can see with the minus sign in front of it, but there is still the 20th charge which I payed for, but have no service for. My credit card company is going to remove that one in 3 days. I blacked out my name, but it's all there, and straight talk can kiss my ###.
I have been double charged for activation once and signed up for Auto-refill and charged an extra month just yesterday...it took a long time on the phone with Straight Talk to get this resolved. I am sure this is done in hopes that a large percentage of people won't notice the extra charges and Straight Talk gets more money...Fraud!
fraudulant advertising
I had purchased my cell phone back in November '11. I have been unable to download apps from the same zip code I entered for compatibility for this phone prior to purchase. After going through several tech help calls with straight talk the problem still remained.
It has been over three months and still it is not resolved. This company should be investigated for false claims that their product's
features can not all operate properly in certain zip codes. I definitely urge cell phone buyers avoid straight talk. Since it is too late to return my purchase for a refund I have learned a hard valuable lesson. Stay away from crooks like these.

no contract $50 phones from TMOBILE blow away straighttalk junk
blacklosting customers
In order fro Straighttalk to boost sales they do a number of thing (remember this is a product sold and owned partially by Walmart):
1) So that you cannot add new credit cards (ex: from a new bank or even update the expiration date on a card which is expiring soon-my card comes in same number, new expiration date and new CID # on back) their website is defective. The company calls this a "systems error", but the "error" does not get resolved. When speaking to customer service you will be told your credit card (and I also believe debit cards from others I have spoken to) will be "declined" and you will be told your "did not pay your bill" or there is something "wrong" with your finances. BUT, you will be offered to have your transaction go through if you buy a 3 month/6 month/year plan or auto renewel and they will work on this and you will have your service again. Funny, why would your new credit info not be useable when you wish to buy a plan month to month or a basic 30.00 plan, BUT if you purchase a multiple month plan or okay the auto renewal plan your new credit card can be used? Of course you have to speak to a customer service rep to do this and chances are you will not be understanding what they are say AND they will become condescending if you ask to have them repeat what they have said. Oh, by the way, try to stop the autorenewal and it doesn't...you are out the money until VISA or MCard deny the charges for you...usually takes about 3 months for VISA to get this resolved...if you use a debit card, contact your bank and have them deny further charges from Straighttalk, but I think this will come with a fee from your bank (check your banks policy, there have been instances of banks having to close a debit card, issue a new one...it's easier with a credit card though as there are usually safety nets for card purchases.) Hmmmmm, something fishy here.
2) On the internet when you go in anywhere from five to the day before your plan expires and try to buy a new plan, there is another "error" that happens. Your expiration date not change to a new expiration date, so when your expiration date comes you have to purchase another span of service...and you will not be refunded. This will be blamed on you (happens intermittently so as to make people have an "accident" buying a new service period. You will not have a refund issued by the "refund specialist" at Straighttalk. I believe "refund specialist" is a hilarious term when it comes to Straighttalk as there is no such thing...refund specialist means a person who makes sure you can't get a refund you are due, lol. BEWARE of this practice of theirs, it is done intermittently and is a way to nickel and dime customers and a fraudulent practice.
3) Since they practice the fraud mentioned in 2, your phone will be turned off during your last service plan day and definately at 12:00 midnight on the day after your plan ends...try renewing your plan then, lol...you will be your credit card company is declining you, BUT they will fix things if you wish to okay autorenewal or buy a more expensive and longer plan.
4) The company makes sure they get what they want/not what you have paid for, by outsourcing their customer service to countries where English may be taught, but not understood. I actually was told by customer service when I kept saying I could not understand (and I used to teach ESL and have a good ear for accents and nuances in others' language) to turn up the volume on my phone, lollollol...when I tried to explain the difference in hearing and understanding, the rep certainly did not understand. The outcome is we will upsell you and if you don't buy the upsell, we will make sure you don't have service.
5) Many of the Straighttalk Tracfones (and that is what they are, Tracfone) are defective. There is no refund for lost service time and to return is a hassle...and if the average three months it takes to receive a new phone from them keeps on going, you are still paying your autorenewal plan. Oh, by the way, Walmart does not stand behind any Straighttalk product or service card...you are out the money, lol. Sp, please keep an eye on your credit card statements by checking your purchases through the internet/or if bank card purchases check your accounts daily.
6) Straighttalk preys on poorer people and seniors whom are trying to make it on their Social Security. This company is NOT a company that is offering a legitimate service. PLEASE, if you are looking for a prepay plan look into your local companies or a US based company whom does not outsource. Straighttalk is a scam, it is not a service.
customer service
I purchased a new Straight Talk cell phone on teir website straighttalk.com. On January 09, 2012 I received the phone package. I tried to start charging the phone and discovered that the WRONG battery had been placed in the package. Then starts the "customer service" nightmare. I had to talk to several of the so called customer service reps to finally get them to understand that I DID know how to install the battery, but they sent the WRONG battery and that's why I couldn't install it, it didn't fit. Then we have to go through the long ordeal of what we are going to do about it. First they wanted me to PAY to send back the phone. I told them point blank, no, that's not going to happen. I asked them to send me the correct battery and then I would return the wrong battery that I had. No go. Many more customer service reps, two days, and several phone calls later, supposedly they are sending me a battery. We shall see. If I hadn't already purchased the "pay as you go time card" that is non-refundable, I would just go with a different carrier. When the time is up on this time card, I will be doing that. This company is "out sourced". I could understand only a few of the reps I spoke with. The one that finally helped me was in South America. I can't say enough about how horrible dealing with straight talk customer service is. Walmart is supposed to be a "made in America" type company. At least it was when Sam Walton was running it. Now it's a "made by enemies of the USA" type company. When we shop there I now feel like I am supporting American enemies. So, good bye straight talk, good bye Walmart. I will start looking hard at who is making the products I buy and especially where the customer service is located.

You are asked to put in the MEID number, zipcode, and asked a couple of questions. Mind you. Swappa has already confirmed the phone not on a black list. Here is the deal. ST deactivates or flaggs a phome on their network after non payment. Let's say Joe sells you his like new Galaxy S3 on ST ie (SCH-S968C). You go to Walmart and buy the unlimited $45 plan off the rack. You sign into ST and attempt to register the phone of your existing or new account. POW. Their site echos back the phone is already in their system but can't be used. What does this mean? It means ST's shady practices have flagged that like new phone that was working only a week ago as a phone that has not been scanned properly. In other words a stolen phone. What? Yes.
