eDreams crooks.

Dear whom it may concern,

On the 5th of Decemeber 2014, I attempted to purchase flights from Monarch airlines but whilst doing this an dreams web page popped up. I thought this may have been because I wanted the flights departing from and returning to Newcastle and Monarch airlines do not fly from where I wanted.

I filled in all relevant questions relating to flying from Newcastle and was very annoyed when dreams seemed to re-route me, flying from London Gatwick and returning via London Luton, using two different airlines.

I phoned them and tried to rectify the situation but after a long phone call costing me over £30.00 I got no where. They were beyond unhelpful. Absolute crooks.

I was told by dreams to sort this out with the airlines concerned and the airlines told me to deal with dreams. I then tried to stop the payment with the bank but was unsuccessful.

This is ridiculous and has caused huge stress. my confirmation number was ENH61G9 - L1TIHL

I have never been so angry with a company. This company needs to be stopped and I will take this much further if it comes to that.

eDreams unfair charges

I've read several complaints about this company, where seemingly people were misled in a very similar way in which I was., and still nothing seems to have been done about it by the authorities!.
I searched the internet for the best prices and eDreams came out tops. After triple checking the flight prices that appeared on their booking page, I proceeded with the booking.
After paying for the flights, the payment confirmation included an eDreams service charge of £31.26. This charge was NOT stated before payment was made and this I find terribly dishonest. The result was an increase from £138 to £164.73 which was much more expensive than other companies.
I immediately phoned the eDreams number and I spoke with a person called Sarab Prakash, who was stubbornly adamant that eDreams did nothing wrong and were totally within their rights to add on these hidden charges.
This is in total violation of British and EU law!
I was told to submit an email detailing the issue, which I did. The promised 24 hour response never materialised. Since then I've had to make numerous phone calls and submitted the email query again. I'm yet to receive any assistance from eDreams.
After all of this, when I subsequently spoke to the eDreams people and my credit card company, they are mentioning a total of £168.00 which was taken off my credit card, not even the £164.73 that eDreams own Booking Confirmation stated!
Now, if this is not blatant robbery and downright dishonesty, then I don't know! This company needs to be stopped!

I totally agree with Unhappychappie! In March 2015 I booked through eDreams a flight by Ryanair to Reus, Spain, for 2 people as it came out the cheapest. I purchased carefully at £230.97 but the email confirmation said I had been charged £276.95, an increase of £45.98. Under 'Confirm your purchase' it listed 'Service Charge £45.98' under which was 'eDreams reduction £-45.98' (ie the 2nd item clearly cancelled out the first). The Total Price at the bottom was the £230.97, but £276.95 came off my card. This is blatant MIS-SELLING. The trading standards authorities must take action and force them to repay unfair charges. Who can help? Where is eDreams based?

I agree this company should be stopped! They are a disgrace to their country! They ripped me off $533.77 by booking air line flights on dates I did not request and on top of that I got an $80 fine for not turning up! They won't listen to me and won't refund my money! They are crooks!

Dear Imaami,

We have just sent you the e-tickets to your email address provided during the reservation process. As for the country, passenger's information is correct, only billing's address is Afghanistan instead of Slovakia. Sorry about all the confusion that this issue may have brought to you.

Have a pleasant journey next summer!

eDreams not contactable for refund

I bought travel insurance for a journey to and from Malaga with Ryanair for myself only. 6 days later my daughter suffered a serious accident and so I wanted to cancel my insurance. Being within the 14 day cooling off period I am entitled to a full refund. The problem is the STD telephone number shown on their booking / payment receipt is not recognised and the 0871 premium rate telephone number is connected to a machine which then leaves you on hold and is not answered. Their email address is also fake and I can only contact ACE who are their underwriters who say they can do nothing to help me.

eDreams wrong return dates on flights

Last December, I booked x 3 return tickets from London Heathrow to Gran Canaria.
I booked the tickets over the phone, and clearly asked for a departure date of Sunday 15th February 2015 and a return 7 days later on the 22nd .
The transaction took place and I paid the sum of £555.87 inclusive of baggage and tax.
Having noted that I had not yet received my travel document by email, I rang edreams on the Sunday 8th Feb and was told that an email would be sent to me straight away.
When the documentation came back, I noted that the return date was not for 7 days after the departure date as requested, but for the 22nd March 2015.
Having made several lengthy calls to edreams immediately after, I was told that there was nothing they could do as the supervisor was not present. A call back to me was promised 24 hours later.
Having not received that call, I called edreams that following day, and after over 40 minutes of waiting was eventually put through to Miss Deepika, a supervisor.
She told me that from the original recording of the original transaction, whilst I am clearly heard asking for a departure date of the 15th of February, and a return 7 days later, she said that somewhere in the conversation I mentioned March, and that she would need to investigate further.
I have not heard that recording. I requested a copy of it but was refused. I paid for my tickets in good faith on the understanding that the departure date was Sunday the 15th of February and the return one week later - on Sunday the 22nd.

She assured me I would be called 24 hours after our conversation, and confirmed - that she and edreams would put the customer first in this matter to rectify the situation, and that if there was any question of doubt, edreams would give me the benefit of the doubt and resolve this for me.

I have my own recording of this conversation which I have attached.

In spite of promising to e mail me within 24 hours several times, edreams did not do so. I repeatedly asked to speak to the supervisor who promised to change the return tickets to the correct date or any other supervisor and was refused. Finally, as I explained to their staff, I ran out of time and in order to return to the UK on my original intended date of the 22nd February, I had to purchase three extra return flights on the right day from budgetair.co.uk for £621.
This is the amount I am now claiming from edreams.
Yours Faithfully

I feel for you Martin Levinson, because eDreams stuffed up my flight dates as well and I have got nowhere with them but they do have my money. I can tell you now, once they have your money they will not give it back. They are thieves. You pay for the dates they choose not the dates you request. I am in the same situation and they owe me $533.77 but fat chance of me ever seeing that money again. However, I am warning as many people as I can about them. All my friends, and associations I belong to and I am using the net to reach as many people as possible. They would have been wiser just to refund my money!

eDreams fraud company

On the 26th of january I was looking for a travel from Porto to Ibiza in Spain.
Unwanted I found the website edreams.com. I found a flight and tried to pay with
my creditcard as I always do. For "security reasons" it was not possible and
I was asked to pay with my bank. I did and I was asked to mention in the payment
the booking number and passenger name. I did that. So far so good. Now the misery is starting.
When I did not hear anything some time I contacted edreams that I want to have my ticket.
I was told that they did not receive my payment. I showed them proof...that was not enough.
I contacted my bank and let them look into the matter.
The payment was done of course and edreams wanted to have more money.
I did twice an additional payment. Not enough...now they asked me to mail them my credit card information.
I immediately answered that I never give anyone my credit card information. End of the story.
They kept my money and of course no ticket. This is internet fraud in its purest form.
I contacted the internet fraud department of the FBI and Interpol.
This "company" is making victims every day and has to come to an end.
Booking with edreams is not a dream but only a nightmare.

eDreams cancellation absolute joke

After accidentally booking the incorrect flight home from Lanzarote to Glasgow which took a stop off via cork for 11 hours, i hastily contacted via email less than 24 hours after the booking which is for SEPTEMBER to advise as surely the flight can be cancelled giving this much notice. I was advised by a very unhelpful call centre worker that it couldn't be, no offer to attempt to resolve the issue or any apology for the fact that i had been holding for almost 1 hour. I am simply disgusted and horrified by the experience and will be taking to social media to voice these complaints so that nobody else uses this useless scam company.

DISGRACEFUL

eDreams non refund and extra deduction of amount

Two tickets were booked by mistake on the same flight (Edinburgh to Kiev), for same destination and for the same destination. Later, one was cancelled as well as insurance cover for the other flight. Payment of Euro 527.17 each for both the tickets was charged by e dreams to my credit card on 23 Dec. Later, on 28 Dec Euro 527.17 were paid back to me through my credit card. However, Euro 20.00 for cancelled insurance cover have not been paid back so far.
Surprisingly, on 10 Jan an amount of Euro 29.18 has been charged to my credit card without any reason or intimation. I called e dreams and after holding the line for 20 to 30 minutes each i could not get a proper reply. Have sent two e mails to customer service but have not received so far

Ref. [protected] - EPC5442 8GYTMV ... I have a return journey of 20h 43' and I am going everywhere, apart from Saturn and the Moon, just to return home to France from Bristol, UK. I never book anything but direct flights. Furthermore, I have been led to believe that British Airways is low cost! Well, at the price that I paid, I do not accept this. I have also made a 49 minute 'phone call to someone in India called Sumit, for which I shall probably need a Mortgage, in order to pay for the call. I took out cancellation insurance and asked to cancel my flight, as it is preposterous to imagine that a 63 year old woman would even entertain such a journey ... I could walk faster than that! I am afraid that E Dreams has been re-named B Nightmares and, along with thousands of other dissatisfied customers, I shall be writing to the National Press to give you the bad reputation that you have earned. Furthermore, along with this ridiculous itinerary, how come I leave one Railway Station at 9pm and arrive at the next one at 8pm the same day? Maria Mann, extremely angry soon to be ex Customer.

Oh, yeah, E Dreams! You've been re-named B Nightmares. You are a bunch of money-grabbing cons. I paid for cancellation insurance but you suddenly seem surprised that I don't want to make a 20h 43' journey from Bristol to Bordeaux and can't refund me because British Airways has suddenly, miraculously become a low cost Airline. Horrible, thieving, dishonest greedy Company.

eDreams tried to keep payment for cancellable flight

Before I booked a flight through E-Dreams (two people, $2800) from San Francisco to London I confirmed via the airline's website that the ticket could be cancelled with full refund within the first 24 hours. As it turned out, I did find a better alternative and contacted E-Dreams to cancel within the required time frame. Although the E-Dreams website said the carrier's policy would prevail, the argumentative customer service rep insisted that we would not get our $2800 back if we chose to cancel. Eventually, he hung up on me, and several attempts to call back went unanswered as they could see my phone number. I was forced to submit a dispute to my credit card company using documentation from the airline and E-Dreams' own website. The dispute was settled in my favor. Do NOT under any circumstances use these people for anything!

To whom it may concern,

I want to express my complete disatisfaction with your service.

I bought these 2 tickets with you and my wife redeemed your TAP Victoria points with TAP for the same itinerary.
TAP called my wife yesterday for a schedule change on the first flight out on the 11th of December FAOLIS as they canceled the flight.
Since we have 2 tickets, they asked us to call you to make the changes and then did they would change theirs as we need to travel as a family.

I called today your call centre and the agent who answered didn't even know there was a change.
First she didn't beleive me and since I insisted she finally veified and agreed that TAP had no more flight on that day and that time 21st flight out".
I told her that I could go on the same flights 1 day earlier "10th of December" and she cliams that her computer didn't give her those flights.
When I checked there was a flight available as I use to work for Air Canada and told her I needed to be protected.

To make a long story short, Im still waiting for confirmation of protection and feel you are giving really poor service.

On top of that your duty was to call the client and advice, however I had to call and advice you.

On top of that, you have a number whereby I have to PAY to talk to you and was kept on hold forever.

Another e-Dreams nightmare !
REF. NO. : 26EH39 on October 29, 2017
I purchased a flight ticket through e-Dreams for my son Ferran Carreras Ramos worth US. $ 1, 775.76 with my Visa debit card checking account.
I did not realized that it was double charged until several cheques that I wrote to pay my house rent, my car payment, etc. bounced back affecting my credit report, secret security clearance and my job.
After countless phone calls at my own expense and speaking with countless people like Nico Bour, Maria Curro, Pierre Perez, Xavier Pladelorens, José Josep Bernat, Mauricio Prieto, Alejandro, Frances Del Valle, Annette, Miguel Gómez at e-Dreams, each of which has told me different stories.
I even sent them a copy of my bank charges that proves that they charged my credit card Visa debit today Feb. 11, 2017 and I’m still waiting for the mysterious refund of the money.
How can these people get away with this?
I am beside myself with rage with them and feel powerless. It’s disgusting !
Any advice ?
Besides, don’t use them again. Thanks.

eDreams booking cancelled

We booked flights with eDreams to goto Ibiza for my 40th birthday. All flights were confirmed with the airline and charged to my husbands card. A few days later he checks his credit card statement and the money's refunded. He rang eDreams to ask why and they said they'd sent an email asking why we ticked special assistance required but it had gone to his junk mail so he didn't reply until two days later, they require a reply immediately or they cancel your flights - how on earth is that in anyway fair?! My husband told them they should always contact the customer to tell them the flight is cancelled as he received nothing to notify him of this, had he not checked his credit card we would never have known it was cancelled, showed up to the airport to find all my mates going to my birthday and us having to stay behind! Needless to say we are livid and offered no alternative.

My name is Bruno Jean. my email address is bouldane@aol.com. I have bought a round trip ticket on edreams website. The total price shown on my reservation is 395.60 euro. When to check on my credit card that i have used to purchase the ticket the charge for the ticket is $442. why e-Dreams is selling in the US in euro value? Is it a way to trick people? I want that different $ 46.40 of the money to be refunded on my credit card.
Thank you,

eDreams scam, ticket not received, no customer service

I was redirected to edreams.com from skyscanner. I'm still surprised that skyscanner is showing the results pointing to these scammers.
Edreams told me that my credit card payment was rejected and said that I can do bank transfer what I did.
I received the confirmation, but never received the ticket. I've lost over 150 euro because the bank transfer is irreversible. Additionally I had to buy the ticket at the airport at much higher price.
The customer support is horrible, close to non-existing. After some time I gave up, tired of the arrogance of the staff.
Avoid!

Website designed to scam customers, terrible customer service, rude agents. You will end up paying more than on any other website in the end so avoid do not make any booking there.

During the process of the booking, after inputting my credit card details, a screen appeared saying that the price of the ticket had increased and if I accepted the new price. The price being more expensive than the one on the airline website I closed the window without accepting that new rate. I booked the ticket on the airline's website. 20 minutes later I received a booking confirmation from edream at the rate that I did not accept. I ended up with two return tickets to the same place on the same flight.
I called edreams asking them to cancel the tickets they had issued at a rate I did not approved. They insisted saying it was not their fault, that I was lying and that anyway the ticket was confirmed I had to deal with the airline. I tried to ask to speak to a senior representative but I was told that they did not take care of phone calls.

After contacting the airline with my double bookings, I was told that the refund could not be made cause my booking was made through a travel agency: edreams.

I understand the sneaky trick of edream, you accept the price that you want so they have a proof of acceptance and then they increase the price and pretend that the high rate was the one you agreed.

I have contacted my bank and I will do all possible to get them pay for this scam.

I am not the only one facing this kind of issue with them so stay away from them or you will surely regret.

eDreams horrible customer care

RUN AWAYYY from Edreams..

I have bought the ticket, even payment has been done, Edreams confirmation code received and later I have received an email that my flight ticket has been cancelled.

Now ticket prices increased and they want me to pay the price difference..

Not a serious company..

Nobody behind the confirmation codes or emails.

Edreams just offer good prices. if you are lucky, you will receive your tickets... if not, customer should pay for the Edreams mistake.

No more booking through Edreams.

Dear Frank
Thank you for your kind answer and checking all the situation.
you are very kind person and I see that you try to do your best for your job but please let me explain one more time with everysingle details and now please try to see the situation from customer eyes also.
The ticket was a promotional ticket, which had been bought on 25 December and I have made the booking and payment on 25 December through Edreams. Even payment has been cleared (confirmation code 776IPB)
Edreams was asking for issuing the ticket on 26 December from the airline company and the promotion was already experied on 26 december.
I could have bought the ticket online on airline company website on 25 December but I prefered to buy it on edreams website on 25 December (please check my booking date and time on Edreams system)
after I received the booking confirmation code and payment already done clearly.. All means for me is the ticket is mine, because i have fulfilled my responsibilities as a client and I was expecting the same manner from Edreams as a supplier.
please just let me know, how i can know that the ticket is not quarantee after a customer fulfilled all his responsibilities such as booking and payment clearence. I thought that Edreams had a online system with airline companies and Edreams confirmation code meant to be all fine about the ticket.

After the promotion experied, I receive an email from edreams and telling me that the ticket is not confirmed by airlines. Excuse me, but this explanation is not acceptable, there is no point to blame the airline company about the mistake, because Edreams system was applying to buy the ticket from airline company 24 hours late. This can not be acceptable as customer mistake or airline fault.
The ticket was approx 100USD and today approx 200USD.. Edreams was late to buy my ticket in time and now customer should pay the price difference. do you believe that this is how it should be solved?
Edreams has lots of advert that how big company they are all over the world etc.. and where is this company now?
if everything is going well on the way, Edreams is perfect partner with clients, but if anything is going wrong, Edreams doesnt exist anymore and customers are alone to solve all.. is this the way how Edreams business principles and how they grow?
Dear Frank, I dont see any right from edreams.com..
Now Edreams, just trying to explain that the ticket is not confirmed by airline, please see the reason why it wasnt confirmed by airline? because Edreams.com was late to buy the ticket and of course airline didnt accept it. Edreams didnt fulfill the responsibilities on time, now there is a conflict.
only I understand that Edreams confirmation codes and email doesnt mean anything and Edreams doesnt stand behind its promises.
if everything is going well, Edreams makes the business with anyone, if anything is wrong, Edreams is not behind the promises, principles and confirmation.
Dear Frank, this is very clear explanation with everysingle details.
if you have any further question, I would be pleased to reply you
Regards

eDreams incorrect charges

I did many comparisons with different airlines and at each stage of research I wrote the amounts and the total charges incl checked in baggage costs for my comparisons. I found eDreams was the cheapest and decided to book through eDreams and added the checked in baggage for both outbound and inbound flights.

The amount that was given in the end was then broken down into ticket price, service charge, eDreams deduction and checked in baggage costs - as I expecte, and after I was happy with the price, I hit "Purchase" button and straightaway, the total price changed by £26 without telling me why its changed and diverted me to the "authorisation with bank page" and eventually charged my card with the amount I was not expected. To add further annoyance, I received a confirmation of eDreams and the amount is again different to what I saw after I hit Purchase by another circa £30.

I called eDreams straightaway and was passed through from one department to another, finally someone spoke to me and gave me a breakdown of the charges, which includes the service charge from eDreams (which in the price I agreed to, this has been removed under eDreams reduction) Furthermore, the departure checked in luggage has been removed even though I have paid for it! This has not been communicated to me at all! This means mb ticket is actually more expensive than it was and now I have to buy the baggage again!

I was very upset and disappointed and the customer service guy told me i have to make a claim by filling in an online form, which i did. 7 days later, no replies, so I called again, and I asked to be put through the complaints department. I was again being passed to various persons and in the end I was told there is not compliant department.

I cannot do anything at all and this is an unfair practice, Firstly, charging customers a price that was not agreed to! Secondly, hidden charges, even though it says it is removed in the price breakdown. Thirdly, charges are paid towards the additional services, but this is not provided. Fouthly, unfriendly and unhelpful staffs because they were bouncing calls and lied to me a department which does not even exist!

Hi Vivianchan1982, can you please let me know if eDreams helped or refunded you in any way?
I'm asking this because after reading your complaint, I realised that I was 'conned' in a similar way.
After all of this, when I subsequently spoke to the eDreams people and my credit card company, they are mentioning a total of £168.00 which was taken off my credit card, not even the £164.73 that eDreams own Booking Confirmation stated.
Now, if this is not blatant robbery and downright dishonesty, then I don't know! This company needs to be stopped!

eDreams mistake done by edreams employee cost me 700 euros and they don't want to resolve the issue

I found eDreams through Skyscanner website. They are putting fake lowest prices over there so that they would receive as much visits from SkyScanner as possible, but when you click that price and SkyScanner transfer you to eDreams website miracle happens. Price went up just more then 100% up.

I've bought ticket with eDreams from Belgrade to New York two days before flight. Tomorrow I noticed that I have put wrong return date from New York and gave eDreams a call to try and change this. As I have already checked in they told me that it's not possible to change anything now, but that I should give them a call tomorrow and that they will change it for 135 additional euros. I gave them a call tomorrow and they told me that it cost 263 euros to change return date. After a lot of talking I just said ok change the return date for 263 euros and they confirmed that they will. As I went on the plane and came to New York I noticed that my credit card was charged for 263 euros and that they changed my flight from Belgrade instead return date from New York.

I tried to call them so that they can change their mistake, but they said that they don't want to change anything unless I pay more money which was ridiculous. I asked for official email for complaint, but they don't answer over the email. I then tried to solve the issue over phone and they told me that they will reply tomorrow over the email. They replied that they will not refund me and that it's not their problem. They send replies from "noreply" email so you cannot continue any further discussion. They don't record phone calls so their employees can freely make as many mistakes as they want and they will not be responsible for anything. They check if their employee made mistake by asking him "Have you made mistake". Very professional, right?

As I was in New York with no return ticket available I had to buy one way ticket for 421 euros on top of all this so basically their mistake costs me almost 700 euros.

Epilogue:
I'm short for almost 700 euros
eDreams don't want to have official email communication
eDreams don't want to provide phone call recording, because it's their mistake
eDreams can now charge me as much money as they want and easily can say that I have call them or do what ever they want with my credit card.
I have to block my credit card so they wouldn't charge anything if they need any additional money for they fraudulent operation.

I'll give my best to receive some compensation for my loss by their mistake or will dedicate my life to telling people around the world to stay away from eDreams!

Hi Frank,

Thank you very much for reaching out.

I have sent the return ticket from New York to Belgrade and Ezequiel proposed refund for that ticket. Only thing left unclear is the change date fee that was suppose to be 135 euros, but was 263 euros because your employee made correction on the Belgrade departure date on 5th of December instead on return date which I have put for 12 of January, but wanted to return on 12 of December. As departure date was changed while I was on my connection flight to Istanbul it was more expensive then it was suppose to.

So I'm waiting the difference to be compensated as well.

Still haven't received reply regarding this.

Best regards,

Dejan Rakezic

i recently used edreams to buy a ticket at half the cost of the other websites for copa airlines, and it came through no issues. took a few days to get a confirmation number but worked. I was scared using them at first because of some of the bad writeups online but it came through, at half the cost. Would definitely use again. This was for a flight with copa airlines from guatimala to panama one way, copa airlines website advertised it for $450, where edreams gave me the flight for $200. Maybe i got lucky but i would use them again for sure.

eDreams fraudulent claims

I cannot understand how this company is still in business. They absolutely lie about the flights they sell. After purchasing two separate tickets on the same day using edreams, I received two confirmation emails. Both assuring me that changes to the ticket could be made, for a small fee of course. In fact, on the second ticket, I paid extra to purchase the premium ticket.

When I tried to change the travel dates, edreams told me that both tickets had restrictions on them that did not allow them to be changed, even the ticket that I had paid premium for. When I asked them why they had failed to pass this information onto the passengers, they said that they could not see the restrictions on the tickets prior to issuing them, and that it was the responsibility of the passenger to contact them (by phone of course and for anyone outside of Spain, on an international call) to check the conditions.

When I pointed out again that they should at the very least tell people that this is expected of them on their website, the customer service rep told me that that this was not necessary and that 'people should just know'.

I called both airline carriers (for the two separate flights) to confirm that in fact they had restrictions. One did and one absolutely had NO restrictions on the tickets.

This is the WORST agent (online or otherwise) I have ever used. I will NEVER use them again. Their customer service is rude, unhelpful. Emailing them does NOT WORK. I hate this company.

I cannot understand how this company is still in business. i have tried to book two flightswith them online when they advise it will take 48hrs after taking all my details, so as i had no time booked my flight direct which was even cheaper than edreams prices, day after i have called them to cancel the resevation with them, been told i have to contact the air lines direct so i did that mean while they started to charge my account, after chasing them for a month and half they refunded me £85.00 instead of £206.00.

eDreams Amount charged twice after check in closed!! So not allowed to board

Dear edreams team,

I am extremely disappointed and upset about a booking I tried to make on saturday with you.
I made a reservation (56hhfz) but I never got the electronic ticket. My sister (for whom I was getting the ticket) spent 2h in the airport in front of the air europa counter, where they wouldn't allow her to check in because edreams had not paid them the ticket. She spent 1h on the phone with you in order to fix the situation, they said it would be done. The checkin counter closed (as in every airline 1h before departure) and 10minutes later I got a notification that a second payment had been made from my credit card of the same amount! Meaning, my sister was never allowed to check in or board the plane, and the amount of the plane was debited twice from my account. This is unacceptable.
1. It is not acceptable to charge someone twice the price
2. It is not acceptable to not pay the airline on time
3. It is not acceptable to pay the airline once the checkin counter is closed so the passenger is not allowed to board.

It is none of my problems your internal procedures. I did not get the service you are supposed to give and therefore I will take the necessary measures.

Have a good day,

eDreams non refundable flight

I booked a flight with edreams. On my flight back, I went to the airport to find that my flight was "Non-operational". I had tried to contact Goldair, a company which manages the flights, they were very unsympathetic and told me to contact SkyGreece Airlines, the flight company that provided the flight. There was no one to pick up the call, although it was saturday afternoon. When going back to Goldair they then rang themselves. Goldair had told me the person in charge had quit their job so there was no one to deal with the matter. I had no choice but to buy my ticket back costing 560 EUROS. I tried to claim the flight back, but they paid me 119 pounds for the original flight which was 170 pounds. They took out the cost of admin fees. Further, they did not acknowledge the money I spent on the 560. I've tried ringing customer service but they only refer me to the compliant forms.

eDreams credit card fraud

Extensive research on the internet confirms my appalling opinion of eDreams ODIGEO and I am baffled that such a business is allowed to exist in Europe. Countless complaints prove that they have bluntly been stealing people’s money for years and they make it nearly impossible to contact them or file a complaint. Last year they had sales exceeding 4 billion Euros and were hugely profitable and no wonder why. With more than 14 million customers being subjected to dubious business practices such as non-refundable ”pre-payments” and countless other charges for tickets that they will never benefit from, because they have given up and booked with someone else. Here’s my experience: I am a Finnish citizen, currently staying for a few months in Southern Spain. On the 20th of October 2014 I booked a flight (NYC-Jerez(Spain)-NYC) on-line via www.travelgrove.com and was remitted to the webpage of eDreams. I have purchased flight tickets online for over 15 years, so the procedure is familiar. After the last mouse click the ticket, that you assume you have purchased, should be sent to your email address. But this time no. Instead an email message arrives saying: ”Reservation WITHOUT confirmation: [protected]”, ”You have made a pre-payment of 20 Euros for this flight”. The ticket cost 927, 80 Euros and the balance due was 907, 80 Euros. In order to complete the purchase I was given the option of either calling the company or making a bank transfer. The customer service, a number in Spain, only operates between 9 am and 8 pm, so I had to wait until the next day. After extensive waiting (more than 15 minutes) a woman answered the phone and told me that the airline company had cancelled all the flights and that I had to book again via the website. She also told me that my credit card had been declined, which later on turned out to be a complete lie. I told the woman that I won’t book anything with eDreams and that I want my 20 Euros back straight away, money they had stolen from me without giving me anything in return. She said she had no authority to refund my money and that I had to file a complaint on their website. Later I called Barclays Bank to check what charges had actually been made. On the 20th of October eDreams had charged me 20 Euros (16, 40 Pounds), the ”pre-payment”, then in addition 927, 80 Euros (760, 52 Pounds), the entire cost of the flight ticket- instead of the balance of 907, 50 Euros. Then on the same day there was, quite unexplicably, a refund of 868, 14 Euros (711, 59 Pounds) All in all eDreams has charged my credit card 79, 70 Euros- 59, 70 Euros more than the 20 Euros they in writing claimed that they have charged. 79, 70 Euros for absolutely nothing. That was all I heard from eDreams. I went to the local tourist office here in Conil de la Frontera, Cádiz, to ask what I could do. They recommended me to go to the Guardia Civil to file a report on the company. Two police officers received me in an office and one of them said that he actually had bought a train ticket via eDreams a few years ago and that he could recall that the procedure was rather questionable, but he finally got the ticket (maybe a Spanish police officer is, for obvious reasons, excluded from the shameful business practices the rest of us sadly become victims of). Despite the obvious fraud Guardia Civil sent me to the Oficina de Consumidores (The Consumer’s Office), which is housed in a local government building. A woman there was very helpful and knew about eDreams. Mine wasn’t the first case she had dealt with. We both spent a good half an hour trying to figure out how to file a complaint on the website, but that was impossible. We tried to call them for advice but got to listen to monotonous music for another quarter of an hour. Finally we gave up and she printed out an official form issued by the Andalucian authorities. I filled it in and she was going to send it by certified mail to eDreams, which appears to be located in Barcelona. I read that Iberia and British Airways has recently stopped co-operation with eDreams, which caused their share price to plunge by 60%. Spain is one of Europe’s most attractive tourist destinations and the Spanish government ought to be deeply ashamed of letting such an operation as eDreams continue to conduct business. If the law doesn’t, common sense says that this company is evidently misleading their customers and in my case their behaviour has been criminal. I urge anyone who reads this to think twice before dealing with eDreams. By using their services you will only cause yourself harm and besides, no one should support a business which is obviously fraudulent. In addition to the complaint mailed by the Spanish local authorities Barclays Card Dispute Team has been involved in this case and I shall continue to fight eDreams and prove that they quite simply lied to me and took 79, 70 Euros from my account. Not only do I insist on having every single stolen penny returned but I shall also do everything I can to make people aware of what kind of nighmare a simple mouse clic on the eDreams website will cause.
