After several months of seeing an odd amount attached to my lane bryant credit card, i had my attorney call to see who authorized ACCOUNT ASSURE to charge me for their services. They informed my attorney that they are a group that protects the consumer in the event of a disability, or job loss and if unable to make the payments to the credit card that they would assume that job...they then informed my attorney that its a $1.99 service per month, per $100.00 owed. Thats why they took out odd amounts per month. However, my family never asked or signed up for this service. A second call from myself (the account holder), let them no to, CEAST AND DESIST, with any further charges, and to immediately credit every penny they charged me...after a long hesitation from ACCOUNT ASSURE, they said i would see a credit in the next billing cycle...Nothing has showed up yet...so...i will be forwarding this complaint to the ATTORNEY GENERALS office, along with many other people who have fall victim to the same scam...This company attaches itself to your bill, unless you tell them you dont want to have this service...its affiliated with WORLD FINANCIAL BANK or WFNB...i will also be submitting a similiar complaint about this BANK...i, now have enough information to have the states attorney have this company prosecuted...

There is a lawsuit being paid because of deceptive practices with this service. you should be able to find out if your CC company is involved. https://www.fdic.gov/news/news/press/2015/pr15073.html

I was scammed into account assure after leaving my Dr and being told I was having back surgery. Well the call came in and I was taken advantage of because of my mental state. I was givien incorrect information on the phone and the 30 days was actually 60 days. I never signed any agreement but I have 5 charges on 1 card each month from them. All different amounts. WITHOUT A SIGNATURE! I want a total refund as these charges threw my account over the limit.

When I got my HSN credit card, they also wanted to sign me up for Account Assure...and I would get a $20 gift card. I signed up. The next month I was laid off. I put in a claim, but could not collect on it because I hadn't paid for it for 60 days. So I said cancel it. That was 3 months ago and they are still charging me for it. Don't do this. This company is a rip-off

I just spoke with them regarding one of my accounts as well. I had a good experience with the customer service representative. She agreed to cancel my 'enrollment' and will refund back all charges. The disturbing part is that they said my enrollment was done through an inbound phone call...I NEVER called them. This is an obvious scam. I will be checking all my accounts and monitoring them closely.

I've had the same issue. Called them several times from different phones, only to get a person shouting "Static, static! I can't hear you ma'am! Call us back!" This was after being on hold for more than 10 minutes every time. Very unprofessional and I've advised The Limited of the poor customer service. Like the original poster, I, too, never authorized this "service" and have filed a complaint with the BBB for all charges to be refunded.
