I went into the salon in orlando, on john young parkway and sand lake rd on friday may 8 for a haircut.
The woman who cut my hair did not introduce herself, takes me to wash my and cut it. She gets me in the chair asks how i would like my hair cut. I told here i wanted it cut just past my shoulders and layered. She didn"t understand fully so i explained again.
She didn't really have the best knowledge of the english language, but i assumed since she was employed there she knew what she was doing. I left with my hair still wet so i couldn"t see exactly what she had done, so i...

I went into Smart Style this past Saturday morning to have my son's hair cut. The person I regularly went to had to cancel the day before due to an illness. My son was having his first year pictures done this Saturday and I really wanted him to be "clean cut"! I know several people who go to Smart style and have had really great experiences, I unfortunately wasn't so lucky. I wanted a simple trim. I explained that I wanted to let my hair grow out and what my goal was and I needed them to even out the layers. The girl had no clue what she was doing. She trimmed off tiny bits at a time, all over, parted my hair every which way and just didn't get anywhere. She was very hesitant and obviously had no clue what I wanted or what to do about it. I was a long standing loyal customer of Smart Style for over a 1yr. I gave Smart Style a lot of business. I was always cooperative, friendly with the staff at all times, spent a lot of money in this particular salon over the course of that year, referred my friends to this salon, never asked for too much, & etc I trusted that this place of business would always give me great service ..But that wasn't the truth of things... I have been to a Smart Style salon in Colorado and they have given me good cuts, but they are in Walmarts and in the rural area it is over 60 miles away, so I very seldom go there. I was visiting New Mexico and a Walmart was down the street so I stopped in to have my hair cut and permed.

The stylist, to give her more credit than due, cut my hair so poorly it looks like a kid did it while I was a sleep. The spiral perm hasn't lasted a week even though I didn't wash it and used the products the "stylist" sold me. I gave her a $20.00 tip to boot. At the time it was wet and...

Went to get a relaxer done on my colored hair and the lady used a product that completely made A LOT of my hair fall off!! I was in tears afterwards the whole time. The incident happened on 5/18/13 and I was devastated. The manager took over and tried to put some form of treatment, but to no avail. I DEFINITELY did not pay for the service and left that salon in tears. I eventually went to private salon, where I had to pay $60 for a deep treatment (each session). I am not coming back. The stylist there, that I liked, and trusted, trashed my hair, knew she did it, tried to camouflage that so I wouldn't notice, burnt my ends, then had to cut it. Made like she didn't notice, because it was late in her shift. Called me yesterday, asking me why I didn't come back!! Am I stupid? Then, after I told her, didn't even offer to correct it!! I go in once a month for a haircut and style. My usual amount is $17.00. Today I was charged $10 for conditioner, which I did not ask for. My bill was $27.50. My haircut was not what I had requested. It is blocked in the back and I specifically asked for fringe. It was cut too short on the sides and sticks out. It was poofed on the top and I made the hairdresser knock it down so I didn't look like a 60 year old punk rocker. I will no longer return to this store for services or products. There are 11 other hair salons in Greencastle and I will be looking at their services instead....

I've work there for about three Mon's. and worked a lot of over time, was not payed for any. They are so misleading, when it comes to who to call when there is a problem.There was no manager in store, there was a fill in from Head Start, from time to time.The D.M. you could never reach, much less get him to return a phone call.They make it so hard to figure out how you are payed, even they can't explain it .No wonder these salon's are barley open.Who even knows what there hours of operations are, they sure don't post them....

The hairdresser, or so she says she is one, butchered my daughters hair. She chopped the top part of her hair so short that it looks like she has two different hair cuts. The bottom is long and the top was totally butchered. I don't know how this woman is allowed to be near scissors, her license should be taken away....

I have made the mistake of working for this company ( off and on ) for almost 2 years now. I was let go the first time because of overtime. I was told it was mandatory that I take the classes in the morning ( an hour drive from my home ) and still work the evening shift ( my salon is an hour and a half from the salon where the classes were held. ) I was ask to come back because the salon was short staffed. It seem my job is to cover the schedule. My manager is covering a number of salons. When they are short staffed I am often sent there to help, but I am not allowed to transfer. I work long hours,...

Went in for haircut, prices not posted. Was told haircut was $15.50 including shampoo. At register was charged over $35, $15.50 for haircut, $14.95 for blowdry and $3.00 for conditioner I did not ask for. FYI, after my shampoo, the hairdresser wrapped my hair in the towel and walked me to the chair 6 feet away. When she took the towel off, my hair was still dripping and my shirt got all wet. She offered to blow dry my hair because I was cold, or so I thought. I thought she was being kind. I felt crummy when I left, even though the haircut was nice. I will never go back....

I am from asia and i worked at smart style, new Albany, Indiana.

smart style manager discriminated me she said that she doesn't like me, on June first. i started my job on april 22nd 2011. i went to my work and the manager told me, you can leave.

i asked for the reason and she said you don't know how to open and close the salon. she never taught me to do that.

later on, i called the state supervisor and i asked for the reason, and she said that no one liked me at smart style. i am still shocked at that statement....

I stopped into Smart Style on Beville Road, in Daytona Beach, FL to have my hair trimmed, signed in and stood, (no seats to sit down), waiting while stylist continued a personal phone call on her cell phone for approx. 3 minutes. She finished her call, never smiled just asked "what can I do for you", I told her I would like a shampoo & cut. I went in to Smart Style in Spencer, Iowa for a simple 12.95 haircut, which I've been getting there for more than 2 years. After the stylist, Diana, trimmed my hair, which took no more than 8 minutes, she started blow drying my hair. I didn't think anything about it. I didn't ASK her to blow dry my hair, she didn't ask me if I wanted it dried, and she certainly didn't tell me it would cost extra for this. But this time, when I went to pay my bill, it was $17.05. Flyer in Smart Style reads:THE PERFECT PACKAGE, $20.95. Includes Haircut, Basic conditioning Service, Blow-Dry and Hot Iron Touch-up.

I sign in and wait approximately 35 minutes. Called to sit in the chair and told him I wanted the advertised special. At which time I was informed My Hair was too long and it would be another $20.00. The blow dry was not a style but just a dry and the hot iron touch up is only for the ends. Not only am I upset that 35 minutes that I do not have is wasted but too late to go somewhere else to get it done.

I have been to this location twice this year and both times I was pretty much ignored as a paying customer. All the stylists had to talk about "The Shop" business. First of all this should not be done in the presence of customers. I'm sure all the Wal-Mart customers walking by could hear what was being said too.

The first visit I had to wait only a few minutes. The second visit my wait was about 20 minutes which did give me some time to look through hairstyles. So I don't have any complaints about the wait.

My daughther went into this shop on August 14, 2010 to get her hair trim. She is starting her senior year this year and she had let her hair grow for the past 7 months. Her hair was long and even. she was able to put her hair into a ponytail or up with a hairclip. She got her haircutt by Lisa Marie Connor. My daughter asked for her hair to be trimed. Oh my God! On February 9, 2010 my mother (78 years old) went to the local Wal-Mart Smart Style to get her hair done. What a mistake. She told the Manager, Debbie that she wanted a color and cut. The color was 44.95 and the cut was an additional 17.95. Then said mananger asked if she wanted highlights. My moms previous stylist had done 2 colors and did not charge extra. She did not know that it was extra so she said sure why not. At that point you would think the MANAGER would tell her it was an additional $49.95...five dollars more than the first color but she said nothing. At the end she charged her $113.85...
