Reliable and Efficient Service
I recently signed up for the Drive Electric program with Georgia Power Company, and I must say it has been a game-changer for me. The process was smooth, and now I enjoy the convenience of electric vehicle charging at home. Their service is reliable, and I appreciate their commitment to sustainability. Highly recommend!

Inconsistencies with readings and billing
I pay the fee for an analog meter. My bills come every month and I have had to pay them due to a seasonal agreement from an outstanding past account. If I had not paid all the bills that came along with the additional payment towards the amount that was owed. My power would've been disconnected. Therefore I kept my bills that came in the mail current. The agreement was settled in October of 2024. On the 20th of December 2024, I received a bill for $153.11. Which I paid. *This bill online says this months charges and shows $672.72 and a usage period of 89 days. Which my mailed bill did not show. Then my online account shows I was billed again December 31, 2025 bill amount $620.58. which keep in mind is only 11 days apart this bill says the billing period is 35 days and the. This bill says this months charges are $467.47. All while thinking my bill for December is 153.11. I pay it in two payments of $80.00. According to my mailed statements, I am thinking maybe somewhat of a high bill, around $250.00. I run two electric heaters and primary propane heater. My residence is only a single bedroom, single bathroom home, with my wife and one year old child. There is no central heating and air with LED Bulbs. We both work during the day. The bill for January comes in the mail for $1039.60 with 30 day billing period no this months charges on the breakdown. The KwH is 3532 for 30 days. While the 89 billing period says the KwH usage is 849. Now it's March 25, 2025 I call and talk to a representative and pay everything to current. Which was around $1100.00. She told me my next meter read would be on March 26 to 28. In less than two weeks I receive a another bill for $897.00. I called about the usage again and of course nothing has been done. This situation has caused me to argue with my wife in front of my 1 year old child, bringing them both to tears, it has caused me to severe depression, anxiety, and worst of all I feel as if I am starting to loose hope in humanity. If I could choose a different Power provider I would. But I can't. Will anyone help get this straightened out for goodness sake.
Claimed loss: Loss of groceries and late on other bills. I am trying to include photos, but they won't go thru....
Desired outcome: An affordable energy bill. And for your customer service representatives to actually help the customers.

Electrical service
I received a bill for $561.00 on September 3rd. This amount is double the bills for August 2023, June 2024, and July 2024. The usage report shows that the usage for this bill is double the August 2023, June 2024, and July 2024 bill. I called GA Power immediately. I then went outside and read the meter myself. The reading on the bill was 4997. The readng on the meter was 4349. I was told that I have to wait for a supervisor to call back in order to send the meter reader out again (I pay extra every month to have my meter read). After 24 hours, I did not receive a supervisor call. I called again and requested another one. They still did not call me back. I spoke with someone on Thursday who told me that a supervisor notated the file (but did not call me back) that they were not going to authorize a re-read because a meter reader came out on August 26th (that was the day they took the reading for this bill--duh--I pay for them to manually come out and read the meter so they do come out every month, which is dumb because that is BEFORE I saw the bill and requested a re-read. I called again that afternoon. I did not get a supervisor call. I called again this morning. I finally received a call that I tried to pick-up and couldn't. Instead of reading all the notes on the file and trying to resolve the problem by sending out another meter reader, they left a generic message for me to call back if I have any problems. Of course I am having problems, I have called like ten times since Tuesday.
Claimed loss: $561.00-for power I did not use
Desired outcome: I want Georgia Power to send out a meter reader to re-read the meter immediately. If they call back, they need to have a solution instead of a generic voice mail for phone tag.

Replacement of 220 line required
The following has occurred at my residential address and to date no resolution has been forthcoming.
Power outage 21 June 2024, at 1628 Tralee Court, Grovetown, GA 30813. Temp power was restored to our home after a neighborhood outage. Contacted Georgia power regarding outage. Workman came to home and determined one leg of 220 not working-temporary fix (inverter) installed 21 June approximately 9:30pm.
Contacted Georgia Power 2 July at 3:36PM for status of replacement of 220 line and was told someone would contact me in 3 to 5 business days. On 2 July they sent out a workman to verify initial problem, (break at their main box) which he did, and I was told someone would contact me regarding when repair would occur. At 4:32PM received email regarding my “power outage” then another email at 5:12PM stating my power outage was restored.
Contacted Georgia Power 24 July at 10:49AM describing the initial problem from 21 June and where we are to date on fix of 220 line. Was told that someone would be out within 24 hours to repair the 220 line. At 11:42AM received email regarding my “power outage” then another email at 12:02PM stating my power outage was restored.
Contacted Georgia Power again on 24 July at 2:19PM pm stating I do not have a power outage nor a restoration of service. What I need is someone to come to my residence and replace a broken 220 line to my home and remove the inverter. Service rep will send message to try and get someone to contact me as service representatives do not have a code for this problem. At 2:42PM received email regarding my “power outage” then another email at 6:42PM stating my power outage was restored.
I need to have the 220 line from Georgia Power main box replace/repaired to my residence so that the inverter connected to my home can be removed. This is not a power outage as the inverter is supplying the power-it’s a 220 line replacement required as indicated by two of Georgia Power repairperson representatives.
Please contact me with the resolution to this problem.
Desired outcome: Replacement of 220 line to residence & removal of inverter

Resolved
It's clear that you've been through a lot of back and forth, with multiple calls and emails, and yet the problem remains unresolved. The temporary inverter fix should have been followed up with a permanent solution much sooner. Receiving repeated emails about power outages and restorations that don't address the real issue only adds to the frustration.
You deserve a prompt and effective resolution. The broken 220 line needs to be replaced, and the inverter removed, as soon as possible. It's unacceptable that this issue has dragged on for over a month without proper action.

I used a third-party company named Deferit to pay my bill on December 6, 2023.

Deferit has provided sufficient evidence that was paid on my behalf; however, customer service has not be able to assist. My account number is [protected].

Customer service reply to: [protected]@outlook.com
I requested that a supervisor call me back two weeks ago and I still haven’t received a call back yet. I was either illegally removed or mistakenly not placed on the monthly budget power plan because of my knowledge of its benefits and how it saves money. I changed addresses and had my power stopped and then reconnected at a new address. Because of my past experience with the monthly budget plan and its benefits I requested to be placed on the monthly budget plan at my new address. Months later I discovered I was not placed on the plan as requested. I asked that a manager call me back ASAP, and after two weeks I haven’t received a call.
Because of the mistake my power was disconnected and I was given a prepaid option as a remedy and to restore my power. Prepaid id not affordable and I need to speak with a manager about this issue.
Claimed loss: 100’s in prepaid money and lost savings.
Desired outcome: Yo be placed on the monthly budget plan as requested which equals $116/month

Card refund
I called to ask them to reverse a card payment since ga power told me they are the company that handle the card processing. When I spoke with a customer service rep at bill matrix, they lied about reversing the payment and never sent any proof at all that they did. I request proof in the form of a email or text, yet they provided no evidence they done anything. Only their word. They told me the process would take 7-10 business days and after that time period, nothing was changed. It's pathetic that companies like this do pitiful things like this. They will not get away with this.
Claimed loss: $240
Desired outcome: 100% refund

Georgia Powers automated service for prepay power and the customer representatives.
On 01/08/2024 at roughly 10:30am I called to see the balance on the prepay account for 318 Ellis Point Way Brunswick , Georgia 31520. The service stated that my power had been disconnected due to a no funds remaining on the account. At that time it was negative $1.69. I was outside in the cold for the next 2 hours and 35 minutes back and forth with the Georgia Power and bill matrix automated services. Bill matrix stated I needed to speak with a rep from Georgia Power and every time I was transferred I was disconnected. Finally after 2 hours of this I was connected with a customer service rep from Georgia Power who told me she could not help me that I was going to be transferred to bill matrix. Needless to say I was very irritated at this point. She was rude and informed me that I was not listening to her. She transferred me and I was once again disconnected. I gave up at this point and waited for someone to return home from work to take me to the payment location. So while on the phone for all that time my disconnected power went from negative $1.69 to negative $11.00. Please explain how that happened. I know you have a monopoly on the power but you do not have to be so rude, and you most certainly do not need to rip off the working class people who are struggling. I would like a credit on my account for $11.00 and also a apology. I now feel like I have the flu from standing in the elements trying to give Georgia Power money. Never have I been so poorly treated and I have been around for 54 years. I am anxiously awaiting to hear from you to see what you may can come up with. I feel like I am not asking much. Thank you for your time.

Trim limbs around lines and transformer.
I live at 148 Turners Court Canton Ga. Several months ago a storm came thru forcing uncut limbs to strike transformer and powerlines. This caused some to hit my home causing a fire and other damage. An emergency truck came thru and trimmed lightly around the transformer. On four different times trucks have been in the area trimming trees along the lines. I and my neighbor at 136 Turners Ct. have requested the limbs along the lines and transformer be addressed. They have still not been trimmed and are going to cause problems if not addressed. Please have someone trim this area between 148 and 136 Turners Ct. to prevent future damage.
Thanks Jerry Ragan

Extremely abnormal electricity bill
This happened more than once : the bill of GA power show that I used over 400 kWh of electricity within one hour and this happened in 3 AM or 4 AM according to the hourly graph. According to my search, only large industrial facilities can use that much electricity within one hour, so this is obviously impossible for a one bedroom home! But customer service insisted that their report never goes wrong and I must pay for that strange bill. I attached two pictures of this situation happened on Dec 5 and Dec 8. Last time the situation happened was in August and I don’t know why it suddenly happens so frequently!
Desired outcome: I need a response. I haven’t paid for last month pay so please change the amount I need to pay on my bill.

Who ever cuts trees
The last wind storm blew 3 trees in my line! They came out and cut the trees but let them fall on my internet line! This is ridiculous! Lazy workers! You can plainly see where they cut the trees ash’s they fell on the line, they didn’t report or fix. Now I’m weeks with service before Kinetic can come fix the line😡😡😡😡😡
You can plainly see that cute the trees ash’s my line is under it
Claimed loss: I would like my internet net bill payed for a month
Desired outcome: Workers get reprimanded! For lazy work skills
Incorrect billing amount and closed account
On August 30th, 2023 we had a HUGE tree fall on our house. As a result, the power to our house had to be disconnected and a temporary power pole installed to provide limited power to the home and for the construction workers to have power for their power tools. needless to say, we were not leaving at the home due to the outage. It was quite an ordeal to get power to the temporary pole even after the GA Inspector approved the pole. It took many, many, calls and disconnected calls to Ga Power to connect the temporary power. By the way, your phone system disconnects calls after waiting in the queue 25 minutes and more and your customer service reps don't want to help.
Well, the issue now is my billing. I have lost my budget plan and have now received a final notice saying our account is closed and we owe $385.47. My budget plan is $238 which I paid in November. Ga Power must think we are moving. Between my husband and I we have made ten+ calls with disconnects and I can't help you. We are BEYOND frustrated and reps won't transfer us to a supervisor. One said we had to pay $250 to open a NEW Account (?).All we want is to get our account straightened out and back open and back on our budget plan. My account number is [protected] Largo Drive, Savannah). Please help us, call us! Call William Brantley [protected]. Well, I guess our next steps will be to file a complaint with the Georgia Power Service Commission. I really don't want to do this but will if someone from GA Power does to call us and resolve our issues.
Claimed loss: Final bill we are expected to pay $38.47, not heat and it's COLD, limited power to the house and cannot cook.
Desired outcome: Reopen our account [protected]), set back to our budget plan of $238 per month (until it's time for the plan to adjust), not pay $385.27 final bill (I paid November's bill of $238 as normal) and full power restored back to our home.

My ga power bill
I am a 100% disabled veteran on a fixed budget, and I recently saw my bill go up 20.00. I attempted to talk to a representative and he was not helpful in trying to even assist me in options that would allow me to stay where I am confident, I can pay my bill along with all my other bills. My bill has been consistently at 172.00 and out of nowhere seemingly it jumped to 192.00. I explained I am disabled and on a fixed income, and I cannot afford my bill to jump like this.
He then went to state that it could go up even higher and I have no other options but to use GA Power. I asked could I place a complaint about it, he stated no. I asked is there a way I can put a complaint in general to GA power and he also stated no. He was completely unprofessional in trying to even show compassion to my situation.
Desired outcome: I want my bill back to where my budget can sustain or I will have to find another alternative source of power, because i already try to use as less as I can. At this point I'll be using candles
Establishing service
We are a commercial customer and I own a shopping center in Atlanta. I cannot get anyone to help me putting power back into our name (as owner/manager) of a suite in our shopping center. I have been getting the run around from your employees and it is costing my business a great amount of money! I have been calling & emailing every day for 4 weeks and no help. Pathetic.
Georgia Powell is trying to recharge us for a bill we have already paid.
My name is Elizabeth Johnson. I paid my bill last month. We have the statement on our bank statement. And they are trying to recharge us $220 and $125 that we already paid. What I do every month? I always ask for a little more time. We paid a whole bill. And it's trying to get the same amount out of us again I began not to trust Georgia power company. And plus last month. I was scammed with someone trying to act like they was a representative of Georgia power. I've been paying Georgia Powell for 35 years. And when you need to speak to a representative, there's nothing near. There's no one you can talk to to find out what happened. Do you scam or remove the information that did? I normally call Georgia power like matrix. They claim that the system was out of order. I am very discouraged that I could not get my $180 back. This scammer took how they did that. They claim they worked for Georgia power. Georgia power needs operators they have to talking to people. I don't like talking to a machine. It cannot answer my question. Where is my $180? They did not remove the $340 for my extension when I paid early. I am very upset. I have to find a new way to pay Georgia power. I'll cash you in person. And make it so bad that information is on matrix. What you paid and they still said? We did not pay $220 and $120. And it's on my bank statement that we did.
Power lines to house damaged by hurricanes
I have a power pole in my front yard, it has taken abuse from several storms and hurricanes, power lines on the street Hammock drive have been compromised many times. Ga Power has been good about getting power back on pretty quickly, however in my case, the power line to my hose has been damaged and will definitely have to be repaired by... the bracket to the house where it connects is broke and bent from the stress on the line when the trees fell on them. The roof of my house is less than an inch from the power lines and it is old everything, which makes me realy uncomfortable with it, worrying about fire or lightning. We just had a major hurricane that has damaged a great deal of trees and power lines in Valdosta, I need more than a suggestion on how to get it fixed, Electric Companies local, Insurance, anything might help...
Desired outcome: why does Ga Power does not fix this....?
Electric
I have been sick and got outrageous electric bills, one month even when i wasn't in the house for a month for the amount of $530 back in July 2023, when I was out of state and my ac turned off. I complained and they sent a tech to check my meter but never got back with me, then kept charging me. My bill is $1945 and past due $1535. I have been sick had major surgeries, medical letters, told them I was victim of crime/domestic violence. But they want me to pay past due by Oct 9 and have been rude inconsiderate to me. I have two minors and I have medical conditions my doctor said that I can't have power disconnected. They still don't want to give me payment arrangement. A supervisor called me and said she can't do anything. Then she said someone from energy assistance with GA power will call me , named Brandy, but then a Tammy called me just gave me a list of agencies to call. I told her I tried all this, most out of my area can't won't help and that the LHeap program is only open January 2024. They still want met to pay the total $1535 by Oct 9 and are unreasonable!
I can't pay and won't survive a disconnection.
I talked to Tammy, she won't transfer me to her supervisor Brandy as previous superviosr Potthinger told me.
She transfered me to customer service and Jamie was really rude and made me wait 39 mins and hung up on me.
Please help. Thank you
Desired outcome: Get payment arrangement of $200 weekly , auto payments if needed starting Friday Oct 6 until total balance is paid.
Contractors trimming power lines.
Your Contractors cut tree limbs from around the power lines at our Church, located at 1419 Peachcrest Rd Decatur Ga. 30032. That was over a month ago. They piled up the limbs in the parking lot in parking Spaces. We put in two Orders to have this problem resolve. We were patience, thinking they would come back and remove the limbs, but to no avail. On 9-19-23 we paid $75.00 to one of our members to come out and remove those limbs. If we had to use a company, it would have cost much more. The name of our church is Atlanta Bible Baptist Church.
Pictures of the Limbs were sent two weeks ago.
Desired outcome: Reimburse the Church for the cost of the limbs Removal.
I want the charges taken off
I have paid my bill every month through Auto Pay. I have never had an issue. Well something happened in July and the system sent me a text saying My payment did not go through. I then pulled my card off and added it back again. The same card. The system charged me 30 dollars more to pay it again same card and same day. I got an text message in August saying after I paid my August bill and in that same month it charged me twice the same amount. Ine payment went through and then second one they tried to charge was also charged. They charged me twice for the same bill. Then I get a charge for Nexy month now keep in mind Sep has not came out yet. They are saying I owe 177.00 plus 30 dollars for it not going through. I paid and it went through and they tried to charge twice. So they are now saying I owe 200 dollars when I have already paid and it went through. This company is charging twice for the same bill and added 30 dollars. The manager I talked to was so rude and the reps. They could care less. The manager told me that the system generated the bill twice and I would have to pay it even through I did not make 177 dollars worth of electricity. This Ga Power is stealing from people. Get rid of aut pay if you have it they are charging people extra through this by double.
