Centurylink - Monopolistic misleading company!

I have been a "loyal customer" of CenturyLink for many years - in large part because they are the ONLY provider in the area where I live. I have actually enjoyed their phone and Internet service, with very little problems, up until I moved from one town to another and had to transfer my service. I was duped into upgrading my bundle package when I switched service, by a very convincing and very misleading customer representative! I have been on a grandfathered in package bundle for several years and I expressed my concern in losing this package and ending up paying more if I upgraded. She...

Centurylink - Overagressive "Account Managers"

For the third day now, a CenturyLink Representative has rang my doorbell to push there services. I have told them three times now that I don't want there products and it doesn't end there. They wanted to know how much I was paying and that they can BEAT ANY PRICE. (Yea, they do for a month and then jack it up higher than it was previously).
I literally had to shut the door on their face.
I called CenturyLink, waited 25 minutes only to be told that there is nothing that can be done as they are independent contractors, not CenturyLink employees. Really? They are wearing CenturyLink...

Centurylink - Solicitous calls

Complaint Rating: 0 % with 0 votes
I keep getting phone calls from people with such thick Indian accents that I can only understand every other word they say, claiming they're applying some discount or another to my company phone bill and long distance. I'm not sure it's actually CenturyLink making these calls as if they were they would know that this is a branch office and ALL accounts are owned and operated by our corporate office. They ask if we have any other lines to apply the discount to as well. They ask a bunch of questions as to if I'm a legal employee, how old I am, if I'm authorized to accept this...

Centurylink - Colorado, Colorado Springs - Ignorance and Neglicence

One of the worst companies, by far, one of the worst companies when it comes to customer care and interoffice communications is Century Link; as the old adage goes: (The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing). In the March 17-25 time frame, my wife and I have attempted to get a bundle package with these guys; after lengthy phone calls with the five agents, and certain quotes given they have failed to email us with confirmation of pricing, nor do they pass on the information to the other agents. Agents are at ignorant of what should be the pricing, throw other century link agents under...

Centurylink - Offered one service, billed for another

Offered DSL Internet for $19.95 per month. (Ursula in Tennessee) Modem was free. Credits offered for shipping and activation. Internet activated on 15 February. When bill came in, the billing cycle was to 16 February. One day internet service was $60.00 and change.

I called customer service and was told that I was never offered that price. Supervisor (Kelsey) told me to pay the bills as is. She was not going to do anything for me.

CenturyLink is well known for its scams in this part of NJ. I wish I had known that before I had agreed to their DSL.

Centurylink - Customer Service/Installation

Unbelievable!! I just wasted over an hour of my life on a call with CenturyLink arguing over an install date. I am in the process of moving to a new home that does not have Cox Internet service available, so I am left with only one option(CenturyLink). I ordered CenturyLink through Directv as a bundle package. After a day of not receiving an install confirmation, I called Directv and was directed to CenturyLink. I was given an install date that I had requested from the Directv bundle specialist. By the time I spoke with CenturyLink, my install date had been moved up 6 days. The problem lies in the...

Centurylink - Billing Problems, Dropped Services

We recently moved to Pueblo, CO after having used Centurylink in Denver. We have bundled our services since moving down here and have nothing but problems for the last 6 months! Billing was wrong, dropped services, telling us we owed more money than we actually owed! No way in hell this should take 6 months to resolve! Problem is that you can't talk to the same person twice, spend hours explaining the situation over and over again! Even with my wife retiring from Centurylink after 40 years of service, we still get horrible service! This problem started June 3rd 2013, and today is January 20,...

Centurylink - Unfair Billing/Sales Tactics

We ordered a bundle package through Direct Star for Direct TV, Centurylink DSL and Phone. We were quoted a price for all services for 110.89 plus taxes. Which we accepted, After everything was done and said we are paying over 178.00 for direct TV and Century link. Direct TV's portion is 78.00 a month which includes 5 TV's and genie receivers. Century Link's portion was suppose to be 39.99 a month plus taxes however they are billing us more than Direct TV is. Our first bill from Centurylink was over 160.00 and our 2nd bill was over 78.00. I have inquired several times about this and...

I had to cancel my service after 6 weeks because i moved in with my mother and she already had service with centurylink. They sent me my final bill which included a $200 early termination fee. I called to complain because I never signed a contract with them nor did I know about an early termination fee and after being argued with by 2 different supervisors, I finally gave up to try to reach someone above them. The only option they were giving me was to switch my mom's account into my name and she would have to pay an early termination fee. Great solution, right? It was about 4 days later that...

So what is my complaint today? The same thing it's been for months, my internet connection! Constant buffering, dropped connections, intermittent speed issues, problem streaming videos, web pages loading slowly or not at all, the list is endless.. It seems to be going along fine for a little bit then BAM I am back to this again.. I call customer support and go through all the same BS every time I call, speed test, reset modem, hard wire laptop into modem etc etc and still nothing has changed...I get told by Customer support that it is not their problem and there is nothing they can do as speed...

Centurylink - Florida - Cancellation Fee

I signed up for centurylink when I moved to Florida and the service was just fine. I ended up moving to NC due to job relocation after about 1 year 3 months. I called and cancelled Centurylink and I offered to stay with Centurylink, but they did not provide service at the new location. I paid the final bill as agreed, but the following month I receive a statement for a cancellation fee. Now, the fee isn't outrageous like some other postings, but nonetheless I don't have a contract, there was no service provided for cancellation and we had no equipment to return. So, I'm a little stumped...

Moving into an apartment for college, I called Centurylink - one of only two providers to my complex - to see what kind of deals I could get on tv-internet packages. I settled on them because they offered me a "student discount package" with 10mbps internet and DirectTV for an extraordinarily low monthly rate, no installation charges, first time fee waivers etc etc I was even offered a $50 AmEx gift card in my name for being so awesome I guess. And all of this with NO CONTRACT?!?!?! Yes indeed, if I signed up now. So of course I signed up.

Installation day comes, DirectTV...

Centurylink - Alabama, Loxley - Refuses to establish service

I recently just moved to my new address and have been trying to establish service here with Centurylink for almost a month but keep getting told I am denied service. The excuse is something about exhausted network. My next door neighbor gets service with them 3 days ago and I call to complain about why is it I am denied service, and that is when the lady on the phone tells me no problem we can give you service. I was excited because after a month of fighting it appeared that I would be allowed service so I had everything setup over the phone, had a modem overnight shipped to my house, and expected...

I recently signed up with CenturyLink / DirectTV for a three-year bundled package: TV, Phone, and Internet. My monthly bill was supposed to total approx. $99.94.The sales rep said I would receive a confirmation email, detailing the billing. Never happened.

My first month’s bill was @ $165. I knew that some one-time installation charges would appear on the first month’s bill and wasn’t concerned. But my next bill was for $217.32!

I contacted Customer Service. The initial review suggested that the only error was a $45 overcharge for the HBO package....

I have been with Centurylink for about a year and a half now. I just have internet service with them to take some online classes. I have recently transferred my service to a new address and received a bill for $63.99; it says the monthly charge is $59.99. I called to get this corrected as my bill is supposed to be $27.50 a month. After being on the phone for an hours and 20 minutes and being transferred several times she tells me the discount did not transfer over but before she can change it back to what it was before I would need to pay a $25 deposit. When I ask why and if this will be refunded...

I have never in my life had such poor customer service as with Centurylink. If you decide to do business with them, GET IT IN WRITING, their business ethic is horrible.
In June of 2012 I had a Centurylink representative call to sell me on their new Prism TV. The rep stated that I could try their TV for FREE for 30 days and get a $100 Visa gift card just for trying it. I told him that I already had Dish Network and was under contract for at least a year. The rep again stated that I have nothing to lose by trying and as long as I canceled within the 30 days, I would not be billed and if I...
