Acer Acer 5

Purchased an Acer 5 Dec 19th 2023 for my wife for x-mas. First fired it up Jan 2nd, 2024. 2 weeks of use and graphics started "stuttering", internal speakers are crackling, and unit would shut down without warning. The store we purchased it from (Visions electronics) claimed to only have a 15 day warranty/return policy. We visited that store 28 days after purchase. NOT noted anywhere and said I had to contact Acer under their warranty. Found out, there is no place here in Canada to contact to return for replacement. ONLY for repair. This makes it a refurbished unit. I didn't buy a refurbished unit. I am in the process of sending it in for repair and (hopefully) will get it back in proper condition. I am certain that I will NOT EVER purchase another Acer product again.

Claimed loss: Probably a few weeks of use depending on time in for repair, value of the unit dramatically reduced (Not capable of determining loss of $ value)

Desired outcome: Replacement with new unit.

Acer Acer Nitro 5 AN517-41 R0GA

I bought the laptop on September 19, 2023 and it went black on me randomly the other day (December 1st, 2023). Took it to the repair shop on Monday, the 3rd, found out today (4th) that I am one of three others with the same computer who are having the same problem. Each laptop’s motherboards are fried. The warranty lapsed already. Which means I am have wasted 2084 dollars. I now have to either buy a new motherboard, which is not cheap, or buy a whole new laptop. Which is also not cheap.

Claimed loss: 2084 CAD plus the repair diagnostic, or another motherboard which range from 500-900 CAD.

Desired outcome: For Acer to be accountable for this. These issues are now well known. And they offer ZERO support in these manners.

Acer no real support from acer

Acer Swift7, SF713-51-M7ER, Model: N16Q11. The unit worked well for 6 months but soon the SSD drive failed and the laptop would not recognize the hardware. Both the Negros Oriental and Cebu Acer dealers tech support would nor could not fix nor replace the SSD drive and refused to reinstall the operating system if we could find another mini SSD inside the laptop. Then gel battery failed and began expanded in the unit. The bottom of the laptop was separating from the chassis and had to be removed. In the process, a few screws were lost. Bottomline, no one would repair the unit during the warranty period nor after the warranty ended!

Acer My laptop service

I have had my new laptop about 3 and a half months. My previous Predator I was very pleased with. This Predator heats up very quickly. The cover on the W key broke and service says that is my problem not theirs. I have never before had a key cover break. Sometimes the lettering wears off but never breakage. I have checked around and I can’t find replacement covers for my computer. It is an Acer Predator PT516-51s75WN.

Acer Out of Warranty Repair

I am very displeased with Acer. I spent $500 on the repair of my computer. To only send it back twice, hoping the next time it will be fixed. I received my computer today, January 25, and it still doesnt work. This will be my 3rd time sending it back with no guarantee that this time it will actually get fixed, after spend half of a grand. I am furious! And I want to be compensated for this lack of care of my time and gas wasted driving back and forth to FedEx just to send it back. This is my business computer. I have had to miss and be behind schedule due to this incompetent care.

Acer Acer notebook computer

Got an Acer notebook for Christmas and the keyboard doesn't operate properly so the computer is unusable. I called Acer twice to remedy the situation, the guys on the phone were difficult to understand and after a long time on the phone it was determined that the notebook needs repair. I received an email as promised explaining because of COVID there were no drop off sites available and the computer needs to be sent to an address in TX for repairs, shipping cost at my expense of course. Usually when this occurs a shipping label is included isn't it? The person who generously sent the gift bought it thru Amazon and being reluctant myself to mail order electronics, I prefer to buy at a store so I can personally return junk avoiding those long non productive phone calls. The result of this experience confirms that reluctance and also confirms to avoid Acer products in the future. I also would advise anyone who listens to do the same

Acer ACER Aspire A515-45-R74Z

I Cannot Believe that you DO NOT SUPPLY a Manual about the Product ITSELF! No Software to assist in the migration of data from the Old Laptop. A ADDO N for a SSD is included - no help with that, or the PORTS !

What is going on? I am unable to even Register this Product I purchased from AMAZON and will probably have to return it - after a Complaint is filed with AMAZON!

Purchased an HP laptop last year, came with Everthing you are MISSING, lots of Software to keep it current and Maintain the product.

Disappointed in ACER -

Acer Acer Aspire TC-1660

List of issues on my Computer

1. Overheats. I have to leave the side off

2. Runs very slow

3. Computer stalls when accessing anything – both local and via browser

4. Drops internet all the time

5. Ethernet stopped working

6. Programs not working like they used to

7. Can’t shut down they way I used to. Click the shutdown button and it goes ot the search button momentarily. Then I have to click it again. Takes way too long to shutdown to the point where I have to unplug the computer

8. Reading email is almost impossible as it takes more time now to open the message than it did before

9. Computer seems to be slowing dying.

10. FixMe Antivirus will not run on the computer

11. Keyboard Copy and Paste works intermittently.

12. On board Video card does not work properly

13. Sound not accepting 5.1 channel only 2 channel

14. Get out of memory warnings

1. The fan comes on at high speed when I am working on any open window. I tried adding a case fan as per the suggestion of one of your tech reps. When I plugged it in, it started at a very high speed, so that didn’t work. So I have removed the side of the case, but that didn’t stop the fan from coming on at a high rate.

2. The computer has slowly gotten slower to the point where I have to wait for it to respond. If I have a window open and it is near the bottom of the screen, the mouse will not register the window until I move it up. The mouse seems to be only working when the window is nowhere near the bottom of the screen

3. I have multiple windows open as well as multiple browser windows. This was never a problem before, but now it is stalling every time I go between the windows.

4 and 5. While in my email program (Thunderbird), the computer drops the connection saying I have no internet connection. Then picks up again then drops. This never happened before. It is getting worse.

I keep getting Internet connectivity dropping. When I do a Windows problem fixer, it cannot fix the issue. I would reboot a couple of time – yes more than once – and it would reconnect on reboot 3 or 4 via Ethernet. Yesterday, the Ethernet connection could not be established at all after using the trouble shooter as well as rebooting numerous times.

I had to change to wireless to have it work. I do not want to work wireless that is why I have an Ethernet connection. It used to work.

6. We have 2 Acer computers set up almost identically, using the same email program. On my wife’s computer, she has no issue with her email at all.

From a program that has worked for many years, it is now not working like it should.

Both computers have Microsoft Office installed. The version on my wife’s computer launches fast with no issues.

On my computer, every time I launch Word or Excel, the program wants to reinstall itself – EVERY TIME.

I ran the repair program for the suite, but that didn’t fix it. I reinstalled but that didn’t fix it either.

7. When I go to shut down using the windows shut down menu, the computer goes to the search bar at the top of the window and does not shutdown. I have to click the shutdown button a second time. It then takes 5 minutes to shut down even though everything is closed. I eventually have to unplug it.

Funny thing is when I unplug it and then re-plug it in within a couple of seconds, the computer is still powered u[p and returns to where I was. Therefore I unplug after I close all open windows.

8. Back to email. It takes much more time to download email than it did before. I have filters setup to put email in different folders, but that is not working now. If I run the manual apply filters, it does move the emails, but takes a very long time to do so.

9. Today July 11, 2022 It took me 30 minutes to get the computer to boot. It booted once but no mouse or keyboard would work.

I have to unplug it to actually shut it off and try again.

10. I have a virus program (FixMe Stick) that runs Linux as it boots to a Linux GUI. I ran it and it did not even recognize the installed hard drives. I talked to tech support at FixMe stick and they told me that the SSD installed is not working properly. I ran it multiple times and still would not recognize the hard drive.

11. If I try to copy and paste (CTR C and CTR V) it does not always copy or paste from the keyboard. IF I right click my mouse I can paste from there.

When what I want to highlight or copy and it is near the bottom of the page, the mouse can not click on it. I have to move the item farther up the page to be able to select it.

12. The onboard video card does not work properly. There are issues like this:

This happens on all solids. I added another video card and the issue went away.

13. I have surround sound 5.1 attached to the computer. It used to work in all channels but now it only recognizes 2 channels.

14. I keep getting ‘out of memory’ warnings and I have to restart the program I am in. I upgraded the memory to 32gb, so I should never run out of memory.

These issues are getting worse by the day. As I mentioned it took me 30 minutes to boot today. It appears that this computer is slowly dying and now I need another one.

This computer is 6 months old and should not be reacting this way.

I have noticed there is a lot of negative reactions to Acer Customer Service and I hope this is not another one.

Desired outcome: replace it with one that works. Like the Veriton my wife uses

Acer Acer A515-45

Windows 11 laptop purchased in Orange NSW Officeworks.

in November 2021. Still under warranty.

My touchpad does not work. I took it back to the shop of purchase with my receipt.

I was told the touchpad is faulty, but my laptop would need to be sent away for repair. I purchased my laptop because i need it and use it every day. How am i supposed to work. Why can i not just get a new laptop, as mine is faulty, what is the point of warranty if I as a customer, go without my product. If i send my laptop for repair, i cant work, if i wait i loose my warranty. Not good customer service. How do i get this resolved ? Are you able to help me, shall i contact fair trading, current affair.

I'm not a Acer tech but it sounds like you got a virus that is messing things up. out of curiosity, what anti virus program were you using before the issues started?

I have been using System Mechanic for anti virus. I tried McAfee and Norton and none of these found any virus/infection

i never heard of that program. i use norton and malware bytes. malware bytes is a anti virus/malware blocker that blocks them before they reach your pc. BONUS: i tested where i work on a infected computer and was able to purge a ransomware that was sitting on a computer.

though it depends i guess on what you are able to use and willing to use. i suggest you give malware bytes a try, there is a subscription but i think it will cost you less than a brand new pc, we might be able to save your computer. Also make sure to run the acer support assistant for updates.

i try and salvage what i can at work so i don't have to replace things. it has saved work a bit of money doing it this way but you cant save every one that comes in front of you that needs help.

Acer Acer aspire 5 scam

I bought the Acer Aspire 5 18months ago, the board on the laptop is now dead, I took it to the Acer authorized repair which quoted 1.5 the price of the laptop. extremely disappointment for the level of support and the communication the ACER team has. Never recommending this product or the brand to anyone.

I feel this is some sort of a scam to get people to buy more laptops from ACER.

Acer Quality

9 months ago, I bough an Acer core i3- Gen 10. The first time, it crashed and it was replaced. Now, The hinge on the laptop has gone. It is under warrantee, but they said it would take 14 working days to resolve. I am upset because I cannot be without a computer as it is my life line. I teach online 5 days a week, six hours a day.

Acer Acer Nitro 5 problems

I have an Acer Nitro 5 since June 25, 2020. Here are things that happened to this laptop since today.
It crashed (Blue Screen of Death) seven times. I am serious.
Today the bezels broke.
It fell twice from opening a closet.
And sometimes it literally does this:
The mouse moves by itself, even though I'm clearly not touching it, and when I move the trackpad in every single possible direction, it doesn't move an inch.
It reboots on it's own.
It opens up the Search and Settings tabs for no reason at all.

Acer Customer services

I contacted your Company on the 29th May, reference number Question Reference # [protected]. Again on the 3rd June 2021, no reply.

I have had the same problem for sometime now, and am not computer literate enough to fix it myself.

I have had this before and have not complained. But I believe as a Company I believe it is your responsibility to assist with a product you sold me.

I await your speedy response, if I am not satisfied with the outcome of this situation I will not have any other alternative but to contact the appropriate authority to assist me. This is the second Laptop I bought from you, but I am so angry and disappointed I'm not sure I would purchase anything from you again.

Acer Acer aspire

Bought an ACER Aspire about 2 years ago. After about, 2 months I started having issues with the cord not making an secure attachment with the electric port on the computer. I have read thousands of complaints regarding this same issue. Obviously, it is a flaw in the product. Acer has done NOTHING to satisfy customers who purchased this product. I will NEVER buy an Acer again.

Acer Acer product and service

I bought an Acer Nitro 5 laptop September 8th 2020. A month ago my screen started flickering and I couldn't fix it so I took it to the place of purchase on March 5th 2021 thats three weeks ago. I was told it would be sent to the main service location and should have it back in 7 to 14 days. I haven't heard a word from Acer or my local retailer. This is a laptop that I bought new less than 6 months ago that is under complete warranty and is vital to my business and personal needs. It is totally unacceptable to keep it this long. In fact, in 25 years I have never had a repair take more than 5 days. In a similar situation with a Lonovo laptop my retailer gave me a new one the following day. I need this handled immediately.

Acer Warranty not honored

I sent the tablet for repair on 10 January 2017

Acer Case ID 10166788G

The screen cracked due to the very low quality build of the product.
Also the tablet was overheating a lot and spontaneously rebooting.

Acer refused to repair the tablet under warranty.
Acer also wanted to charge over 100 CHF just for returning the tablet as is.

I would like a refund or at least a credit so I can get a new tablet, even from Acer.

I have all the correspondence and documents, but they're in PDF and I cannot attach them here.
