Mixed Experiences, Proceed with Caution
As someone passionate about Western wear, I understand the allure of Boot Barn. However, after delving into various customer reviews, it's evident that experiences vary greatly. While some customers praise the quality and selection of cowboy boots, others express disappointment in customer service and product issues. It's essential to approach purchases with caution, ensuring thorough research and managing expectations. Despite the mixed reviews, the charm of authentic Western wear at Boot Barn remains a draw for many enthusiasts.

Ariat boots
I just ordered my husband's boot and he was so pleased with this purchase. The detail on it is so amazing. I'm so happy that I bought it here. I would 100% recommend this company. Absolutely amazing...
I love this place
I do not at all get the bad reviews of had nothing but great experiences with them the only thing a little pricey sometimes but the clothes are way better & they got good boots Fast shipping that's why my experience I love them
This is a terrible $#*!ing sight
This is a terrible $#*!ing site, every other site shows boot barn is a 4 to 4.5 star store, I've been to many different boot barns across California, every single one was phenomenal, amazing stores, beautiful inside, and outside, nice people, and they are very well stocked in all different varieties of cowboy western gear and boots, The place is called boot barn, when I went there they had over 300 different types of boots if you go there for anything other than western gear you're going there for the wrong reason, if you go there for the purpose of buying boots or western you're based on the name of the store, You'll be very happy with the store, do not listen to the site, the site obviously has no bearing on categories
Not Too Bad
I was a little skeptical buying from this site due to the reviews on here, however I can't really complain.
I ordered my shoes June 29th, and received them July 5th! I would say those came pretty fast especially with how things have been through COVID.
Throughout the process I continually received messages from BootBarn telling me about my package and if there were changes.
I did have a problem receiving a messaging stating my package was Delivered' from UPS, but it wasn't at my place (and I contacted UPS directly with no answer, and contacted the driver and he didn't know what I was talking about). BUT I contacted BootBarn and got a message from them instantly stating there was confusion between UPS and BootBarn and that they it was actually delivered to the post office instead. They were very kind and apologized for the misleading messages.
Shoes that came in were in great condition, look just like the shoes on their site and fit true to size!
Boot Barn's Warranty Policy is a Joke - Disappointed Customer Review
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with Boot Barn. I bought a pair of Cody James boots from them and at first, everything was fine. But then, out of nowhere, the lining on the inside of one of the boots just completely fell apart. I was stuck in the boot and when I tried to get my foot out, the whole lining just ripped out. It was a total mess.
So, I figured no big deal, right? I mean, there's supposed to be a warranty on these boots for a whole year. But when I tried to get them replaced, I just got the runaround. I talked to a bunch of different people, sent a bunch of emails, and made a bunch of calls, but nobody would help me out.
They kept saying that the damage was just from normal wear and tear and that it wasn't their fault. But here's the thing - the other boot was totally fine! So obviously, something went wrong with the one that fell apart. But they just wouldn't listen to me.
One of their arguments was just ridiculous. They said that because the defect didn't show up for a few months, it wasn't really a manufacturer's defect. But come on - if that's the case, then why even have a year-long warranty in the first place?
Anyway, I'm pretty fed up with Boot Barn at this point. I don't think I'll be shopping there again anytime soon. It's just not worth the hassle.
Mixed Experiences at Boot Barn: Excellent Customer Service on Third Visit
I've been reading a lot of reviews about Boot Barn and I see that some folks are not too happy with their online orders. My advice to those folks would be to either visit a local Boot Barn store or try Amazon's "Try Before You Buy" program if the item is available there. Personally, I've visited our local Boot Barn store three times and have had mixed experiences.
During my first visit, the staff was generally polite but not very helpful. On my second visit, I'm not sure what was happening at the register as the staff was there and talking but didn't offer any assistance. However, my third visit on 8/31/22 was a completely different story. The customer service was excellent! I explained to the representative that I have difficulty finding shoes that fit well and we discussed the pros and cons of different options. The representative was knowledgeable and genuinely wanted to help me find the right fit.
One thing that I wasn't used to was that the boots and shoes were not in boxes. However, after thinking about it, I appreciate that they are on display. It's a bit of a hassle to unwrap every pair of shoes/boots for fit/sight review, but it's worth it to ensure that I'm getting the right fit. The price was also excellent, which was a pleasant surprise.
After completing my purchase, the sales representative marked the inside tag of the boots with a red marker. They explained that it was for some kind of control for returns/warranty, which was a bit bizarre, but if it works for the system, then so be it.
Overall, I look forward to shopping at Boot Barn in the future. While my experiences have been mixed, the excellent customer service during my most recent visit has won me over.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience at Boot Barn Store in Austin, Texas
I went to the Boot Barn store at South Park Meadows in Austin, Texas to buy a new pair of boots. Unfortunately, they didn't have the style I was looking for in the store. The store owner suggested that I go online to order the boots I wanted. So, I went online and ordered a pair of boots. However, when the boots arrived, they were the wrong size and color. I was really disappointed and frustrated.
I decided to go back to the Boot Barn store to get a refund. However, due to COVID-19, the store was opening at noon. I had to leave my business and come back later to get my refund. When I asked the manager to order the correct boots for me, she was confused because my receipt showed that I had ordered the right boots. However, the boots I received were not the ones I had ordered. I had to pay for the boots again, even though I had not received my first refund yet.
After leaving the store, I felt like something was not right. I decided to look at my receipt and found out that the manager had misspelled my address. I had to go back to the store again to have her correct it. I told her that I had lost money by closing my business to come back to the store. She offered me a 15% discount on anything in the store to make up for the inconvenience. However, when I looked around, I realized that everything was already 15% off. I was really disappointed with the customer service at Boot Barn.
I believe that this was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Even the office in California, where they had to call to correct my address, was not helpful. I don't think I will ever do business with Boot Barn again. I recommend that you buy your boots from somewhere else. Thumbs down on Boot Barn!
Disappointing Experience with Boot Barn: Miscommunication and Lack of Follow-Up
I recently purchased a pair of boots from Boot Barn for my husband as a Christmas gift. Although my husband loved the boots, they ran a little small, so I sent them back to the company with instructions for an exchange and the correct size we needed. However, instead of exchanging the boots, Boot Barn refunded my money. I was disappointed and confused, so I sent several inquiries to the company, but all I received were apologies for the miscommunication. They didn't even offer to fix the issue.
Frustrated, I decided to call Boot Barn's customer service representative to inquire about reordering the boots. The representative informed me that the boots were discontinued and there were no more left in stock. However, when I checked the website later, I found that the exact boots I had originally ordered were still available. I called Boot Barn again to place an order, and when I gave the representative the item number and size, she didn't know why I was told that the boots were discontinued. I was relieved that I could finally place my order.
I placed my order on February 2nd, and the website stated that the boots were shipped out the next day. However, it is now February 13th, and I still haven't received my boots. The tracking number provided by Boot Barn isn't working, and when I tried to track the shipment through UPS, they couldn't locate it. I contacted Boot Barn again, and they informed me that it would take up to 10 days to investigate the issue.
Overall, my experience with Boot Barn has been frustrating and disappointing. The miscommunication and lack of follow-up from their customer service team has left me feeling dissatisfied. I'm not sure if I would order from Boot Barn again in the future.
Terrible Experience with Boot Barn: Local Store Refuses to Honor Return Policy
I recently had a terrible experience with Boot Barn, specifically their local Idaho Falls store. I purchased a pair of Ariat boots online at www.BootBarn.com during their Christmas sale. Unfortunately, the boots were too big, so I attempted to exchange them at the local store on January 3rd. However, the store refused to exchange the boots for the correct size and instead offered me store credit. They also blamed my bank for any delays in the credit appearing on my account.
To make matters worse, the store would only sell me the new boots at full price, with no discount. They even kept my original invoice and only gave me a poor quality copy when I requested it. When I asked for proof of return and refund, the store claimed they couldn't provide any paperwork. After insisting, the manager finally gave me a handwritten note on the bottom of the unreadable copy of the invoice.
This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied with Boot Barn. My son, who is away at college, still doesn't have his Christmas present because I am waiting for my refund so I can purchase the boots elsewhere. Additionally, I have no proof that I even have a credit coming.
According to Boot Barn's return policy, I should have been able to exchange the boots for the correct size or receive a refund. However, the local store refused to honor this policy. When I called the corporate office to check on my credit, I was told that they were still processing credits from December 29th.
Overall, I would not recommend Boot Barn based on my experience. The local store was poorly run and did not follow their own return policy. While the online customer service was polite and professional, they were unable to help me with my issue.
Poor Customer Service at Boot Barn in Roanoke, Virginia: A Disappointing Experience
Me and my family recently moved to Roanoke, Virginia and we are currently staying in corporate housing. Lucky for us, there is a Boot Barn located just 100 yards away from us. I decided to check it out and was immediately drawn to their selection of jeans, vests, and boots. The store was well-organized and everything was easy to find.
However, my shopping experience quickly went downhill once I got in line to make my purchase. There were four people behind the counter, struggling to put a pair of boxed boots into a bag. I waited in line for about five minutes before one of the associates finally asked if I needed any help. When I explained that I was interested in bringing my family over to check out the store, he looked at me like I was bothering him. I then asked if they could sell me a roll of quarters and he acted like I was asking him to cure cancer. His attitude was extremely off-putting and made me feel like they didn't want my business.
After leaving the store, my family and I went to Tower Mall Wrangle store and the Valley View mall. We ended up spending over $2,800 at these other stores and the difference in customer service was night and day. We felt appreciated and valued as customers, which was not the case at Boot Barn.
I discussed my experience with my wife and kids, and unfortunately, as a black family, we have experienced this kind of treatment before. Instead of getting angry and yelling "BLACK LIVES MATTER," I choose to take my business to companies that appreciate all customers, regardless of their race. As a husband and father, it's important for me to educate my kids on this issue and show them that we can make a difference with our dollars.
Before writing this review, I looked at Boot Barn's website and the message they communicate. It became clear to me that their target audience is the white community, and that's okay. They can have it. We will continue to support businesses that appreciate all customers and have personnel, managers, and leadership that reflect that.

Description not accurate
I ordered a pair of booties from the website, which states that the boots were full-grain. Good price I thought, nice boot, I thought. Well, I received them today checked the inside label only to find that they are NOT full-grain leather, they are in fact PU leather, polyureathane. Talk about disappointment! I will be returning them to my nearest store.

Disappointed
Our family has relocated to the Roanoke, Virginia area. As await the completion of our home, we are staying in corporate housing.
There is a Boot Barn located about 100 yards from us. I went into the store and looked around. The store was merchandised well and I was really drawn to the jeans, vest and boots. As I stood in line, everything about my shopping experience, went down hill. There were 4 people behind the counter. It looked like they were struggling with placing a pair of boxed boots into a bag. One was trying and the other three were watching and I stood in line. I waited for about 5 minutes. One guy finally asked me if I needed any help. I explained to him about bringing my family over to look at his store. He looked at me as if I was bothering him. I then told them that once my family woke up, we would be back and confirmed their closing time. Before I left, I asked if they could sell me a roll of quarters. He again appeared that I was asking him to cure cancer Now, I have a problem with his attitude. He then asked the other 3 associates this extremely difficult question. They all looked up and did not know the answer to such a difficult question. I then decided to leave because it was clear they did not want my business.
After going back, we all got ready, went to eat and then to Tower Mall Wrangle store. We also went to the Valley View mall. My family spent over $2,800. It was amazing the courtesy and appreciation for our business that we felt. Your store does not even come close to our experience.
I then explained my experience with my wife and kid at your store. We are a black family and see this kind of treatment more and more. Instead of getting upset and yelling, BLACKS LIVES MATTER, I take my dollars to businesses that appreciate it. As a husband and Father, I take every opportunity to educate my kids on this EXTREMELY IMPORTANT issue in today's world.
Before I wrote this letter, I looked at the message that your website communicates. It was then my thoughts were confirmed. Your sr. Leadership and store personnel explains everything. The WHITE community is the audience you want. No problem, you can have it. We can always and will continue to support the businesses that appreciate all customers that walk through their doors. Their store personnel, managers and sr. Leadership and board of directors reflect it.
Employee
I went to the Appleton Boot Barn location around 3:30 PM and I was not greeted or helped. All of the employees stood around gossiping. One employee whose name is Hannah sat there and was flirting with a male coworker expressing how she gets drunk all the time, and how she really likes him and how she’s so happy they met. It was honestly disgusting. I don’t...

Well I m done with Boot Barn !
I spend around $2000 a year in there stores and on line . I ve been a customer for 15 years which I m sure doesn’t matter. They had their Cody James jeans 2 for$80 sign on every Cody James spot where these jeans were. After about 4o mins I found my size so I get two pair ready to check out the lady rings up a crazy price. I said I m sorry you have signs everywhere 2 for $80. Then another sales woman said sir if you could read you could it says on the sign in very very fine print the price you can get for two. Well I feel I read ok . That’s the 3 rd time in a mo. I ve been talked very smart to twice in this store and other the in Mesquite. So no boot barn ever again ! Stay out of boot barn ! Bab bad bad !
Desired outcome: I m done and will tell everyone I no you can’t read good enough to go in there stores !! I m sick of smart Alex people. I never write a bad review but I have had it.!!!
Terrible Customer Service and Business Practices at Boot Barn: A Warning to Shoppers
I gotta say, I stumbled upon this website after I already bought some boots from Boot Barn online. And let me tell ya, I'm not too happy about it. I read through a bunch of these reviews and I gotta say, I agree with most of them. My experience was pretty bad too.
So I ordered a pair of boots online, right? And when they arrived, one of the boots had a security sensor on it from the store. Like, what the heck? So I called up customer service and they told me I could either send the boots back or go to a store to get the sensor removed. But here's the thing, there wasn't a store near me and I needed the boots for an event in just a few days. So sending them back wasn't an option.
I asked if they could overnight me another pair of boots, but they said they couldn't do that. Like, seriously? They didn't offer me anything for my inconvenience except for 10% off my next order. Are you kidding me? That's not good enough.
Honestly, this was my first and LAST time ordering from Boot Barn. Their customer service is just terrible and their business practices are not up to par. I would definitely recommend finding another boot store to shop at. Don't waste your time or money with these guys.
Terrible Customer Service and Return Policy: A Review of Boot Barn
This company is not good at all! I wouldn't recommend ordering online because they won't let you return it at the store! They don't care about their customers and they don't value your time. I spent an hour talking to four employees and they didn't help me at all. I ordered some boots for a trip and paid extra for shipping, but the boots were late and now they won't take them back!
The manager, who didn't even have a name, just a turquoise shirt and a turquoise pinky ring, couldn't even answer basic questions about store policy. He didn't even know if the gift card they were offering would work for online purchases, which I read in previous reviews that they don't! I'm really disappointed. Next time, I'll go to a better company like REI. Don't waste your time with Boot Barn!
Frustrating Experience with Boot Barn: Delayed Delivery, Scuffed Boots, and Poor Customer Service
I had a pretty frustrating experience with Boot Barn. I ordered some boots from my local store and paid extra for same day delivery on December 11th. I was really looking forward to getting them on December 12th, but they never showed up. I went to the store and the woman there told me I couldn't switch to pick up. I was pretty upset, so I called customer service and they told me I could switch to pick up. I went back to the store to pick up the boots and the delivery driver had just picked them up 5 minutes ago.
When I finally got the boots, I noticed that they had tiny scuff marks like they had been worn before. I was really disappointed because I had paid full price for new boots. To make matters worse, the boots were the wrong size. I tried to return them, but Boot Barn's system was messed up and was showing my order as processing instead of completed. I couldn't return the boots and they wouldn't let me exchange them for a different size because I had used PayPal to pay.
I was really frustrated because I couldn't get a refund or exchange the boots. Boot Barn's system wasn't working properly, so they couldn't print me a free return label or let me return the boots at the store. They wanted me to pay to send the boots back and get my refund.
Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience at Boot Barn. The customer service was lacking and their system was not working properly. I would not recommend ordering from Boot Barn if you want a hassle-free experience.
Outdated Business Practices: Gift Cards Useless Online, Frustrating for Big & Tall Shoppers
This company is really behind the times. They offer gift cards, but it's impossible to use them on their website. You have to call customer service to use them. It's really frustrating because I'm a big and tall guy and the stores don't carry my size, so I have to shop online. But my gift card is useless because I can't use it online. It doesn't make sense to me. If they have a system for credit cards and a system for gift cards, why can't they link them together? It seems like they're doing it on purpose to make it difficult for people like me who don't have time to call and use the gift card. They already have the money from people buying the gift cards, so they don't care if we can't use them. It's all about making a profit for them. I think it's really bad business practices.
Disappointing Experience with Boot Barn: Poor Packaging and Customer Service
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with Boot Barn. I ordered a gift set of boot care items - cleaner, conditioner, cloth, and brush - in a fancy wooden box. I was excited to give it as a gift, but when the package arrived, it was just in a flimsy mailer envelope. No padding or anything. And you guessed it - the box was totally trashed. The cardboard insert that was supposed to hold the products was all bent up and useless.
So, I called customer service to see what they could do. It took me a good 20 minutes just to get to a real person, and when I finally did, she couldn't do anything for me. She told me to send photos via email, which I did. Their response? They could replace the item, give me a refund, or give me a 20% discount if I wanted to keep the "boots". Um, hello? Did they even read my email? There were no boots involved!
It's pretty clear to me that they have no idea what's going on, and they don't seem to care about my dissatisfaction. To make matters worse, the item is sold out and they can't replace it. So, I asked for a full refund (including shipping) and we'll see how that goes.
Honestly, I'm not impressed with Boot Barn's customer service. They clearly didn't take any care in packaging my item, and they didn't seem to understand my issue when I contacted them. I'll definitely be telling my friends to steer clear of this company.
Disappointing Quality and Customer Service at Boot Barn: A Review
I recently visited the Boot Barn website to purchase a pair of boots for my fiance as a Christmas gift. He works hard every day and needed a new pair of boots to help with his ankle pain. I was excited to surprise him with a new pair of boots, but unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived. The boots I purchased were leaking, and my fiance was coming home with wet feet. I was disappointed, but we decided to visit the Boot Barn store in Uniontown to see if we could get a refund or exchange.
When we arrived at the store, my fiance decided to go with a different pair of boots, a cowboy boot that would still be suitable for work. We were happy to have found a new pair of boots that would hopefully be comfortable and supportive for his ankles. However, our happiness was short-lived once again. One of the boots ended up shrinking, and my fiance couldn't even get it on his foot. We were frustrated and disappointed that we had to go through this again.
We decided to return the boots to Boot Barn, and I was not interested in purchasing any other items from their store. The quality of their products was disappointing, and it was frustrating to have to work in old shoes until we could afford to purchase new boots again.
Overall, my experience with Boot Barn was not a positive one. I was disappointed with the quality of their products and the inconvenience of having to return them. I hope that they can improve their products and customer service in the future.
Disappointed and Frustrated: My Experience with Boot Barn
I recently had an experience with Boot Barn that left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. I had been in the market for a new pair of shoes and decided to treat myself to something nice. I had never paid over $50 for shoes before, but I thought I would splurge a little and see what Boot Barn had to offer.
I made the 45-mile trek to the Boot Barn in Bend, excited to see what they had in store. Unfortunately, they only had size 13 shoes available, and I wear a size 14 or 15 depending on the shoe. The sales associate told me she could order the shoes for me, which I was happy to hear. However, when I tried to pay with cash, she told me she couldn't accept it and suggested I buy a gift card instead. This was the first red flag.
Despite my reservations, I handed over $150 in cash and she ordered the shoes for me. A few days later, I received the shoes in the mail. Unfortunately, they didn't fit well, so I tried to exchange them for a size 14. To my disappointment, I was told they didn't make the shoes in a size 14, only 13 and 15.
This meant I had to make a 90-mile round trip to return the shoes and get my money back. However, I was told they couldn't give me a refund, only another gift card. This felt like a scam to me. I had been scammed out of $130 by Boot Barn.
I was frustrated and disappointed by this experience. I felt like I had been taken advantage of and that Boot Barn didn't care about their customers. I would not recommend shopping at Boot Barn and will not be returning in the future. It's important to shop elsewhere and avoid being scammed like I was.
My father was excited to visit boot barn.
Drove an hour to your location. Went in and had no one greet us. My dad had to use the bathroom which said vacant but the door man or woman were locked. We tried to get the attention of any of the three people working but no one acknowledged us. My father urinated himself cause we couldn't use your bathrooms! How embarrassed he was. Will never return and will be damn sure no one else we know will enter your store either.

Went to buy boots at store and heard a conversation between employees that they have to work long periods without breaks, even food breaks, and also work weekends non stop due to the poor management and scheduling of store manager. Also, someone should do something about store lights and Wi-Fi... Looks like a cavern trying to find boots in the dark there...

Work boots
Went to Boot Barn to get work boots. They did not have correct size at store but was told I could order on line. I went home and the next day I placed the order on line and was pumped..only to receive an email 15 mins later saying that the boots were not in stock. I waited several days for restock I tried to order boots again. After trying to checkout for 20 mins (should've been red flag then) I finally got ordered and received confirmation number. Later that day i received another confirmation for shipping and a tracking number. (Free 2 day shipping on 75.00 or over purchase) WELL that has been over a week ago. UPS has never received the package and after 3 emails and 2 phone calls. (which you sit on hold for over an hour each) I learned that now I have to wait 7-10 days for them to find out where and what happened to boots. In the mean time I'm out $132.00 and wearing worn out boots to work! THANKS BOOT BARN! I have several friends and family who shop or wanna shop there and I WILL NOT RECOMMEND shopping there to anyone! BUYERS BEWARE!
Desired outcome: Send my boots or send another pair while you find boots!!
Store manager
The store manager, talk about employees behind their back and tore down the other female employees working there. They also play favorites and everyone was so dishonest and pushed me to quit every time I went in to work my shift. The Company I loved working for and loved selling their products. The manager made it very hard for me to Enjoy selling.

I went to bootbarn at valley view mall cause I hadn't been since it had opened while I was shopping in the girls section. And I over heard two workers talking to each other. One seemed like a manager and the other one I don't know. But all I heard was the guy cussing and talking to his employee like she didn't have any common sense. As I was walking up to the register to check out I asked the girl who that was. And she said it was her manager. I didn't say anything about it to her. But I don't think that's the right way for a manager to talk to his employees. I will not be shopping here anymore. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect no matter ow high on the Totem pole.
customer service
Lina was extremely rude when my fiance and i went into to purchase jeans and boots. when we asked where something was or for a size she just pointed in the direction and left. then when ringing us up she was rude and had an attitudde when asked if someone else could help us she was snotty and said why? We ended up just leaving and we don't feel we should be treated like that. she seemed extrememly flustered and all over the place yet the store was not busy.
left sunglasses in store went back to retrieve them
I left a pair of Coasta sunglasses in the Marshall Texas store. I went back with my mother and told them they were mine. The manager said "No they belong to some guy." I told my Mother they were my sunglasses." Plus if you heard my voice it is a very low tone and I get mistaken for a guy a lot. I went in there a second time asked about them they said, "...

My daughter ordered some boots online in January for her wedding. They were too small so we took them into the store in February to exchange them for the next size up. The boots were in the original packaging and box that they were shipped in. She never received a receipt or packing slip when she placed the order. The only thing she received was the charge on her bank statement. Before we said anything the manager Cindy walked up with an attitude. She exclaimed they always email a receipt and she would "do it this time". Why have that kind of attitude when we spent over $200 it isn't like we were asking for our money back. We will never shop at this store again. Buyer be ware they just want your money and their customer service sucks!
