Bank of America Closed/freeze edd boa

Had a freeze on my EDD account until I was able to verify my identity.! Along with I had my account frozen for boa since I needed to get verified first.! That was understandable and as well I was a victim of fraud so prior to the freeze I had funds in my account and was waiting on the claim that I filed so I was dammed. From my previous money and my pay check till I was verified now that I had been verified and the hold and freeze been lifted out off of my account EDD suggested giving it 24 hours and boa will be back to normal and I had certified for my weeks and been paid, but boa still insists and says they have not received anything and EDD says we can't do anything on our end the hold been lifted and it had and it does show it's paid and I was able to certify, but boa still have a hold and this is pathetic and I can't get help with them when they direct my call to ed's when EDD can't help me and it's all on boa end.! And where is my payment and my
Previous fraudulent charges. I have no money! And I'm close to taking this to the next level and taking legal actions against boa!

Desired outcome: Please urgent resolve

Bank of America Credit card

I have reward points to collect and every time I go to collect my rewards it kicks out my phone after waiting 25 minutes of so. I've tried this over 5 times with no success. I tried to go online with no luck. The website doesn't recognize my account number or social security number. I make all my payments on time in full each month with no balance after each payment.

Desired outcome: To talk to a representative about collect earned rewards

Bank of America Unsatisfactory and rude service.

Customer service phone call through the regular [protected] was told that the answer could be given through the "closed" department. That customer service representative TRAVIS was rude, unprofessional, and not willing to help direct me to the correct area for assistance. [protected].
Was trying to find out if my stimulus that was put into a closed account could be traced to see if it was rejected.

Desired outcome: Written apology.

Bank of America Customer service not returning calls

I did not receive my monthly statement. I called on Jan. 7, 8 and twice on Jan. 11, and again on today, Jan. 12. Each time called I was told my call will be in line for an auto-call-back when an associate is available. It has now become a problem which possibly means having to pay a late charge. Be this intentional or not, I feel this is poor "customer service". I would appreciate some feedback concerning this situation. Thank you.

Desired outcome: I do not feel that under the circumstance that I should be penalized because customer service won’t return any calls. I would appreciate any feedback concerning this problem.

Bank of America Closed my accounts

I am an American citizen born in 1956. I worked for Bank of America for 26 years and retired in 2014 to take a job in Ghana for an NGO teaching technology. My US based BofA account enabled me to make payments in support of property owned in California and to move money from my 401k, receive IRS refunds, maintain a VISA ATM Card to be used here in Ghana, purchase gifts on-line for my grandchildren, set up recurring payments through PayPal, etc.

On Dec 31st, without any warning or explanation, both my DDA accounts were closed and my card blocked. I called my Preferred Banking Customer number (yes, I was a preferred customer) and they could not help me. I was shuffled around between Claims and Risk/Closures for 3 days being told the same thing over and over (it was a business decision, you signed something that says we can do this) until I was told they would be closed irrevocably on the 5th and that I would NEVER be able to open an account with BofA again (that is what she said, but I believe it's 5 years). There was nothing left do. They said they would send the balance in a cashier's check and a letter to the address on file (which is my brother's house in California). I will not be able to access that money here.

I pleaded with them that I cannot travel due to Covid as I am a 64 year old man with COPD. The risk is too great! Especially to California, but I was met with cold ambivalence. I was never allowed to talk to anyone that actually knew why they were closed or could stop the closures.

So now .. I have lost my lifeline to my holdings in the US. After working most of my professional career for this institution they have turned their back on me and made my life a living hell. I do not know what I am supposed to do. I only hope they have not made it so I cannot open a bank account with anyone through Chex Systems so when it is safe to travel I can go to the US and reestablish .

How is possible that a company that has America in it's name can do something so completely undemocratic. A.P Giannini built this bank by giving a hand to help up the people suffering after the great SF Earthquake and fire in 1906.

Shame on the current management to allow this to happen this pandemic.

Desired outcome: Reopen my accounts and reestablish my good relationship

Bank of America Closed my account without any notification

I opened an Advantage Plus Checking Account on January 1st 2021 with the bonus offer to get $100 with 2 direct deposits of $250 or more within the first 90 days. Passed the 5 identity questions that were presented to me to prevent fraud. Application was approved and my account was opened.

My first direct deposit came on January 6th. Transaction didn't yet post to the account. Great. Maybe it needed more time I'm thinking.

January 7th comes around, I go to log into my account on my desktop to see if the deposit posted, and I suddenly can't get in. Then I try on the BoA app with my fingerprint verification. Nothing. Doesn't even tell me that it failed login. It just goes back to the login screen with blank fields and makes me try again. I try again. It tells me that my account has been locked!

So now I'm getting worried. I call the BoA customer service line and explain my situation. They ask me for verification questions. Ok. No problem. The guy tells me that my account "has problems" and that it "didn't pass the identity verification." It was now in the process of being closed and the only way to stop it is to travel almost an hour to the nearest branch. That wasn't an option for me. No notification of this before calling their customer service line.

I then tell him that I had money deposited into the account from my job. He said that I would get a check for it in 7 business days. Not acceptable since no notification WHATSOEVER was given that my account was being closed. He transfers me to the ACH department and I get disconnected.

I call back and a 2nd rep picks up. Asks me a verification question but then tells me that she can't verify because of something wrong on her end. She tells me to call back in 45 minutes. DEFINITELY NOT ACCEPTABLE AND NOW THERE'S RED FLAGS! Again I ask why was I not notified? She says she has no idea, I'm not satisfied by that answer, and I tell her I'll call back.

I call back instantly after we finish speaking and speak to a 3rd person. She tells me that the first person I spoke to was correct in saying that my account was closed for "fraud protection" due to a rise in fraudulent accounts being opened. Mine wasn't fraudulent. I ask her why I wasn't notified. She has no idea.

Basically, Bank of America now has my money that was direct deposited from my job and I don't have access to my funds. I have to wait 7 business days AT LEAST to get a cashiers check from them. If the check doesn't arrive by the 31st, I will be unable to pay my rent.

If it doesn't arrive by next month, I will sue them. This business is shady. A good bank will never just close your account out of the blue without any notification.

Desired outcome: I want my $371.44 sent back to me immediately without delay.

Bank of America Arbitrarily canceled my cc with a negative balance

Bank of America canceled my card by mail, I was shocked. I've had this card for years and I have never been late on a payment. I overpaid a bill by $100 but I figured I would use it soon so that would be ok.

I am shocked, I have honestly never missed a payment. I had previously used the card for a balance transfer and was about to start spending on it again. The frustration is there is no online chat or any way to really talk to BOA unless you call during their hours. They also took all my information offline, so immediately all statement records were inaccessible. Luckily I was able to go into my bill pay and there was one link that I could click on to take the attached screenshot proving the account had a negative balance.

Over five years with this card and never a missed payment. In the middle of a pandemic, this is a double insult.

Desired outcome: I want my $100 back

Resolved

This complaint was mitigated to some extent. Once my account was arbitrarily canceled, BOA took all my account information off the website. So they did offer a payment back to me when the account was canceled only I didn't know because I couldn't access my account. After waiting over 30 min to speak to a person, and wading through robotic prompts I did get my money back.

In the meantime, I might add they cut my credit on my other card down to 200 from over 4, 000. Ironically in the process of finally getting through to someone, I was stuck with the automated person who waived my $1.50 finance charge, which I had just paid today. So I will end up in the same situation. They can keep the $1.50, I'm canceling my other card and they will never see banking from me again.

I think this is an obvious situation where some AI bot took a look at my credit score, which is actually a decent score, but due to the pandemic they raised their standard and dumped a bunch of customers. It's really disgusting how this is allowed to happen. If I was constantly late on payments I would understand but this is absurd. If that was the only credit I had I would have been screwed.

I'm sticking with my credit union from now on. Better rates, personal service, and I won't be blindsided.

Bank of America Poor service and rude employee

I have had a banking account with BOA for many years. Checking, savings and credit card. For several years I had a automatic deduction for a small insurance policy. I recently cancelled that policy and requested that my automatic deduction be stopped. The insurance company continued to deduct that payment. I went to the BOA branch on Meredith Ave. in Urbandale Iowa. I was told that I can not manage my own account, I can not cancel that payment, that I MUST deal only with the insurance company. I was further told that the insurance company could continue to take money from my account and there was nothing I could do about it, unless the insurance company agreed to stop those automatic raids on my account.

Desired outcome: stop the automatic monthly raids on my checking account

Bank of America Small business department

Complaint against
Bank of America Small Business Department

Attempted to dispute and/or stop payment on some small wrongful charges on my Business credit card today. Lengthy phone time over an hour, 3 transfers on hold, 3 different Reps with each demanding I provide over and over again basic information multiple texts for security codes ...on and on and on in the rabbit hole...ludicrous!
Business Reps rude and couldnt care less...cancelled my card instead of stop payments, not providing any clear information, informed me the Business credit card banking matters could not be done on line, informed me there will be NO reference to the call anywhere ? Refused to provide a ticket number ?

So if the Business department doesn't do what they are suppose to do guess what Ill have to call back hours of time holds and again verbal conversations about money and credit cards without any references, no confirmation, and no online options available.

Seriously Business transactions ...no reference, cant complete any tasks on line in this day of age Asking Business people to call be on hold for an hour and then not provide any confirmation of the transactions...Really ?

What is happening to the money ?

Bank of America Business Department lost my Debit card and lost $ 300 not alot of money but they could care less and have no intention of a resolve,
no efforts to even try to find out what happened ?

Is our business money really safe with this Bank of America Business Department ?

If the small Business department is refusing transparency about money, banking, and business usually there is a reason WHY ?

Something doesnt seem right here...does it ?

Why in this day in age with why is it that BOA Business clients with Business accounts cannot do online banking How could verbal phone calls without documentation be safe for your money. How can you monitor that transactions of money are accurate. In my case Debit cards and Debit account amounts just go missing, credit card adjustment cant be proven...mmmmmmmmmm

Im surprise that BOA Small Business Department doesnt recognize that their department without checks balances confirmation and transparency will be headed for federal problems.

How is it that Bank of America has aloud such high risk banking practice.
Is it even legal some of it ?
There must be requirements federal requirement of BPOA Small Business Department.
Is this department in compliance with federal regulations ?
Doesnt look good to me based on my aweful aweful experience with BOA Small Business Department.
Beware and protect your money.
This does not seem like safe banking situation for the small business owner

Interesting

There is no place to send an e-mail for resolve or remedy ?

If bank of America loses your money like they lost mine, makes mistakes in your credit card ...Oh well just plan you will have to prove it.

As they say Follow the money.

Bank of America By accident froze my account

So I was told by the operator on Dec 28 2020 that the bank of america by accident froze my account?
Is the bank of america retaliating because if my complain of $1000 dollars?
I did not authorize anyone else to use my card in any way.
I am notifying you of the above unauthorized transactions
ÚRegulation E, 15 U.S.C. § 1693 et seq., 12 C.F.R. § 205.6, 205.1 investigate any unauthorized transactions.
Restore any funds withdrawn from my account without my authorization.

Desired outcome: Nothing personal against the bank of america but it's kinda obvious something is going on. I guess this solves the $100 evidence

Bank of America Bank of America closed my account and wouldn’t tell me why and I still haven’t received my money from my account 4 months later!

I had three different accounts with Bank of America, I had never had any problems with them. They decided to close my account with no notice. Then when I would call in they first kept telling me I'd get my cashiers check with the balance in my accounts. Then after a week or more goes by and I still didn't receive a check with MY money. So I call again and all they ever say is they're investigating my deposits in all my accounts and they can't give me anymore information. They've never contacted me about any deposits in question. Then in Oct I get a statement show my account balance, and it says the amount was deducted for closing account and there's a 0 balance. But When I ask them where My money is they say they have no answers or explanations. I don't understand how it's legal to hold onto my money for months and close my account, send me several letters saying it's closed but they still haven't sent me my money.

Bank of America Customer service

I have two complaints about my edd debit card.In october 19 of 2020 I called my card to check the balance and heard my account was incorrect in the balance amount. I was in possession of my card when I was told that a withdrawal of 680.00 occured. I soon canceled my card and did a claim. I didn't have the app on my phone to check my bank activities. They said they would investigate and get bank to me. I never received my money bank.

Second complaint I went to use my card and my transaction didn't go thru. I then tried to login in to the mobile app which I received an error message that said call customer service. I called customer service the first representative said my account was closed due to edd/unemployment. I called unemployment/edd they said they did not close my account nor did I have suspicious activity regarding my account. I then called the second representative. The second representative said they receive a message from edd. Once I told them I called edd he change his statement. I told him to send me proof of this information from edd, I was told it was none. I then ask for a supervisor to speak with. I ask the supervisor why was my account closed. Mr charles said edd sent them a message of fraud. When I told the supervisor I called edd. He change his statement. He said he dont know y my account was closed and that he was going to send me a paper to fill out and then they will investigate. I then ask if how do u close somebody account with 208.00 in it and you dont have proof of fraud. I ask him for his employee id number and his last name he laughed and said he doesn't have one

Please give me back my 208.00 I had in my account before it was closed. And the 680.00 that was stolen from me also

Desired outcome: my 808.00 refunded in a check

My account was frozen by EDD with my previously received money in it. My account was compromised, reported it to BOA. Subsequently the EDD froze the account because of fraudulent activity. But I had money in there that BOA will not grant me access to. EDD is verifying my ID but has told me that I should be able to access the money in the account prior to it being frozen.

Bank of America Claims department call center

I called the number on the back of card on 12/09/2020 at 4:52 pm and sat on hold for an hour and 2 minutes and 31 seconds before a claims department rep got on the phone. I explained that a claim needed to be filed for my 5 missing deposits that were deposited onto my account by edd. She started to argue with me and say she does not see any payments that were deposited and I will have to call edd. Which edd told me that they are not responsible for the payments they have already sent the payments. My card was locked and no way else to pull money off. So five deposits are missing. When I called to see if the claim was ever made she told me that she does not see deposits than started to argue and then hung up on me. And I have been back and forth calling and all I get is long wait times and nothing fixed.

I had a similar situation. I resorted to emailing my state senators office. They got back to me in 2 days. The very nice lady who I called per her request collected my info and my story and resubmitted my ID documents that I had sent to EDD already. This is insult to injury. My account was hacked and funds stolen and I HAD my card. But I’m the one punished for doing the right thing.

I would like to see an investigation of the fraud that's happening with all these EDD payments and Bank.of America. Beside false claims there are unauthorized cards, fraudulant transactions, someties large ones, and shoddy or no investigation and unwillingness to help their customers. Lookigverybad to me. In my case they reibursed me $2400+, but not the entire amount. I'm going to call the claims departmentandtry a third time. No doubt they'll try to say too much time has passed since it occurred. (But not too much time since their last response .) I'm going to demand a copy of their security camera video. It was one of 4 withdrawls from their ATMs. I'm going to demand an explanation too. The more information, the more they screw themselves. Get Answers! The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't back down! There's always The FEC, although BOA is known for being a dirty bank...
