Avery Custom Exteriors replaced my roof with efficiency and expertise. They put out tarps along all sides of the house so as not to miss picking up things like nails. John Avery Custom Exteriors recently replaced our roofing. First of all, from start to finish John was in the trenches with us fighting a less than forthcoming insurance company. We had seen his roofing work and so were confident that we would get a fine job on our home, and we were not disappointed. His friendly crew were consciencious with our property, and worked nearly non-stop in very uncomfortable heat conditions to get the job completed in a timely fashion. Mr. Avery called to let us know what was going to happen & when his crew would be there. The crew were very professional! They worked very diligently getting the job done & always cleaning up as they went. Mr. Avery would come by & check to make sure the job was being done right & on schedule. The most important thing I can say about John Avery is he is a man of his word! The job was done right! Avery Custom Exteriors is the only company I use for any of my home exterior improvements. They have roofed my last 2 homes and most recently custom built a beautiful patio fence and 2nd story deck. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the customer service and work they do for me. They did all the exterior work at my mother's house too (windows & roof). She was so impressed that she called them back out to build her decking. Once you see the outstanding job John and his employees do with your home, you won't want to use anyone else. They treat your home like their own. The clean up afterwards is meticulous and you won't even be able to tell they were there. Avery is the only company I will recommend to friends or family because John is the only person I trust to put my name behind and that I know will treat the people I care about the way I would. Contracted with John Avery for a major exterior remodel/repair of our log home. John came out personally before accepting the work as this was a large project and outside the usual framed house remodel. The plan included new roof, windows, doors, and siding, in addition to repairing rotten log surfaces and furrowing strips. The work was started promptly. Excellent roofing crew. Took a little creative work-arounds for the siding as many walls were out of plumb and crooked. John was on site almost every day. The place looks great. Had one issue with replacing our old bay window. The window company rep came out to measure the old window in order to replicate one of similar size and depth. After install, it was apparent that the new window was not nearly as deep as the old. John worked with the window company which eventually agreed to build another one at no cost. John and crew came out on a weekend to swap out the window and adjust a couple of doors not latching correctly. The siding crew came out later to trim and side in the new window. All this was done at no charge. I would definitely recommend Avery Custom exteriors for any exterior remodel work.

I am happy with the work Avery did on my roof but I am not happy about their customer service skills. They kept dropping by with no notification. They also estimated the price before fixing the roof, ended up doing less work then charged more than quoted. The day they came to fix our roof the guy came by and asked if he could fix it. Luckily someone was home. Once he completed the task he left without saying anything. Later another worker came by requesting a cash payment. Had knew they were coming we could have gotten it but they never gave any notice. When we asked how much we owed the guy wasn't even sure. He also said a racist comment about his own worker very unprofessional. Dude to them not knowing how much to charge and for our records we asked for an invoice. They showed up a few days later with the invoice holding down my doorbell constantly for a few minutes followed by several minutes of knocking. Again had i knew they were coming I would have been prepared but nope no notice so I was not and therefore did not answer. Just in case Mr. Avery sees this your check is in the mail. Do not come to my property again. Don't use this company there are better options. I know they are upset thinking we were trying to get out of paying then based on a unprofessional phone call that was made but its not true. Let your customers know you are coming that way they are not caught off guard and your payment would have been ready.
