I intended to go to the Broward County courthouse to pick up a document and saw a huge empty parking lot with a Bail Bonds office on the compound. A few cars were also parked on the lot. I parked for a few seconds and literally walked across the street (next to the parking lot) then decided to turned around to go inside the Bail bonds office to confirm that I could park there for 15 mins (as there is a sign on the premises that said I could park for the maximum 15 mins). As I was walking back to the parking lot (literally within seconds) I observed a lady walking up to my vehicle. I got to my vehicle and by then observed a towing truck coming onto the premises, backed up and started approaching my car (I was in shock because I could have easily gotten in my car). As he was approaching my car I stood behind my car and asked what was he doing and he proceeeded to my car - (I had to move out the way so as not to get ran over) and he towed my car. I contacted the police and informed them that my car was illegally towed. The police call the company and got the driver who towed my car to return to the parking lot. I had a witness that confirmed to the police that I was at my car when it was towed but apparently the towing company hires a woman to sit in the car lot and watch so that as soon as someone walks off she calls the towing company (they are parked behind the building waiting on the calls from her to tow the vehicles within seconds) That woman lied to the police and stated I was not at my car but across the street at publix when my car was towed. The police informed me that they should not have towed my vehicle as I standing by it at the time. (They stated it was criminal and they would have arrested him (the driver of towing vehicle) immediately if I could prove to them what I said. I requested a police report. I went to publix to check if there were any security cameras that shows the parking lot (to prove what I said) but to no avail. I went to their office and paid the $100 and also paid for an older person who could not afford to pay for his truck. Someone needs to do something. This lot as someone stated in a previous complaint is designed to be misleading to attract unsuspecting people to park there. It is misleading because there is a sign that states you can park for 15 mins max. This is a big money making scam. Can you imagine how many cars are towed each minute because this woman sits in a car and observe cars that come in and as soon as the person walks away she calls the towing company that is waiting around the corner(literally behind the building) to come and tow the car/s. Someone needs to stop this company. I was informed the person that owns the parking lot, also owns the towing company and hires the woman to sit on the lot and watch for the cars. A big money making venture. Everyone BEWARE. Please contact the Broward Towing Commission, Better Business Bureau etc if your car is illegally towed. Do something.

Yes. I too became a victim of all county towings scam. I parked at a lot and was told by the person walking to check cars for tickets that it was okay since the attendant had left for the day. When i returned 15 minutes later the car was gone, along with others whose owners were there walking in circles on the phone. Seems the person who told me it was okay was really a spotter checking out the other cars. There was no business signage, no one to pay as I did with this lot at at other times. After a good amount of online research I discovered the property is owned by a local slip and fall lawyer. The people who act as workers there collect CASH ONLY and give you no reciept. The towing company has no parking at their place of business so when you go to pick up your car you are forced to park illegally, such a convience...

In my opinion, if the tow company as you stated also owns the parking lot, I guess there's really nothing you can do... Because they own the lot... Having the lady sit there... is I guess bascially there tow sign...
In a way I guess it could almost kinda be like this (ALL IS JUST AN EXAMPLE)... People have been parking in your driveway... You don't allow it... Everytime you try and do something like, get their plate # or try to get them impounded or whatever, the cars are always gone before you get the chance... So you decide to "trick them" and put signs up that says anyone can park there for 1 hour... You sit around and wait and when they park there you hurry and call a tow company...
Kinda same thing...
But, if you guys think it's completely wrong then try and do something about it...
I'm not sure on this one...

All County Towing needs to be shut down! Towing cars illegally seems to be their stock-in-trade. My daughter's car was illegally towed this morning which is considered a national holiday. The sign in the parking area clearly states that you can park all day on weekends and holiday's and on non-weekends (mon-fri.) between 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. They not only towed her car but four others as well. Why? Because they're a bunch of money hungry ### that tow cars in areas they know will have people in overflow on holidays. Something needs to be done to shut this operation down now!
